Wick: Sentinel

Rate this book
One surveillance op. Three assassins. No backup. Welcome to Prague.

One photograph destroyed Sam Wick's military career. Now Task Force 77 owns what's left.

They gave him a eight years in Leavenworth, or become their ghost. He chose the shadows.

Sam Wick doesn't exist on any official record. He's a weapon pointed at problems governments can't solve — trained to kill efficiently and disappear completely.

His second mission for TF-77 sends him into Prague's medieval streets, hunting an arms dealer selling death to Syrian children. But Czech intelligence knows he's coming. The surveillance is blown. And Wick finds himself trapped in ancient alleyways with nothing but tourist cover and the brutal skills TF-77 burned into his bones.

Three trained killers. One medieval stone coffin of a city. Zero backup.

His second mission. Their first mistake was thinking he'd go quietly.

Time to find out if ghosts can bleed.

---About Wick

Every legend has a beginning. Wick's is classified.

Before Sam Wick became the ghost that governments deny and enemies pray they never see, he was new. Raw talent, zero margin for error, and a handler who expected him to figure it out or not come back.

These are those early ops, the ones that built him. Hostile embassies. Cartel strongholds. Former allies turned traitors. From the Swiss Alps to the Venezuelan underworld, each mission is standalone, self-contained, and brutal. Wick follows one complete the mission. At any cost.

Fast, relentless, and unflinchingly real. This is where the legend began.

Wick: Sentinel - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

This is where the legend began - the actions and decisions that led him to join TF-77 covert ops organisation...so secret even its creators disavow all knowledge of it or its espionage missions.
Given the 'lesser of two evils' choice, Sam Wick is born and hardened into an elite operative, that sees him in action in Prague - and walk away injured but satisfied he's completed his mission.

A very brief case history that's a little repetitive in its phraseology at times, but still well-written and full of action, so why not try Wick: Sentinel today!

An interesting and informative short story giving a snapshot glimpse into the transformation of former life of Army Major Ryan Walker, now Sam Wick, into a TF 77 operative. It's made more interesting by the realisation by Wick that his enforced joining was no accident teasing the reader with what could happen as a result of this discovery. All this information is wrapped around the central story of Wick's violent action in Prague.

I received an ARC copy but the views are my own.

The beginning of Sam Wick (The Ghost) with a good storyline and a really strong main character. Plenty of non-stop action and good character building. Very enjoyable read and one I would highly recommend.
