Sartoria Los Milagros

Rate this book

I dislike the story and one of the main characters, Mariana, who is a really pathetic and annoying woman. The only reason why this book got 2 stars instead of 1 are the drawings. I had a feeling the autor was trying to be quirky but despite her trying the book was boring and to be honest one of the worst I have ever read.

I picked this up from a free bookshelf because of the material quality of the book. The writing and the use of images is definitely interesting but the story (if you want to call it that) is convoluted, trivial and boring. One of the topics is sex before marriage and I am really not sure what statement the author was trying to make. Can someone explain to me how this book won a literary prize?

This book is like an explosion of Agrentine Passion and German Analyticity. I liked that part, but I did not like the hazy ending even do I've managed to find my own „version“ of it...

I wish I would’ve liked the story as much as I did the graphic design of this book. This book definitely has own unique style. There is a new pattern/picture at the end of every chapter, related to the story. Also the way this book is written is cool: different font sizes/styles, pictures, lists and other details. But the story.. It’s complicated. Didn't like the ending.

Barbetta has a very unique and distinct writing style - which is a bit hard to get into. The story takes a long time to unfold and then ends very abruptly.
Though I was getting impatient with both style and story, the very pretty edition kept me reading. strange how that can make a book.
