4.5!! Such an amazing book! I really loved the immediate connection between Jade and April! Not
exchanging numbers at the end of their amazing night together doesn't keep them apart forever because fate brings them back together! I loved how supportive Jade was while April took her time and figured out how and when to come out while juggling her tennis career! There is no spice but the book doesn't need it to still be an amazing read! I highly recommend if you're looking for a cute, romantic, sporty, insta love sapphic romance!! A big thank you to Elle Cobin for the ARC!! And of course all thoughts and opinions are my own!

Even better than the first book!

I truly loved this one so much. Definitely a must read. I can’t wait to see how the characters change and grow in the third book.

In Game Plan, you get the magic of firsts for one character, paired with another who’s a bit of a Casanova. But when they meet and spend the entire evening talking and wandering the city, it quickly turns into something that feels a lot like love at first sight for both of them.

There’s a real emotional pull in navigating coming out while living in the spotlight, especially when you’re falling for someone who is already out and so effortlessly supportive. That contrast brings a layer of guilt and confusion that feels incredibly real.

A beautiful story about firsts, identity, and finding the courage to be yourself.

Game Plan – Elle Cobin

Jade and April share one incredible night (not sexually) talking and learning about each other, but when the night ends neither of them have a way to contact the other.

Relationship Goals:
Love - Openly
Protect - Fiercely
Care - Gently

Short Summary

Jade is a physical therapist, known womanizer, and has a close-knit family who she loves, but hides things from – like her full body of tattoos.

April is a pro tennis player at the top of her game. She has sponsors to keep happy, an opposing player willing to do anything to make her lose, and her father is her manager and is more manager than father. Dealing with all this is hard enough, but dealing with it while hiding her sexuality, impossible.

Jade and April meet and spend the night talking but when the night ends, they don’t have enough information to find each other again. Their only hope is that the universe will work its magic and find a way to lead them back to each other.

Review

I really felt like I got to know the FMC’s and understand what was driving them forward and what prevented them from living openly and authentically.

Jade’s character was so incredibly supportive and understanding of having a closeted partner. She said all the right things and was willing to be what April needed of her. I liked how that wasn’t all of it for Jade, that her own feelings and struggles of having a closeted partner were part of the storyline. It was such an equal treatment showing the perspective of both people.

Jade’s family, including her work husband and catching up again with her sister Cleo and partner Ivy from the first book in the series, was great. So supportive, loving, and willing to call each other out on stuff! The entire cast of secondary characters was well done – including the southern belle from hell – who I loved to hate.

I’d love it if April’s concerns about being an out athlete and the impact to her career and sponsorships wasn’t a thing anymore. But unfortunately, this is still the reality which was reflected in the story.

April has so many different concerns and they are all valid and handled beautifully. I loved getting to see her find her inner strength through the story.

The sports side was in the background and formed the setting for the book and characters. Yes, April is number one in the WTA rankings and tournaments, training, recovery, sponsorship, and an evil competitor are all part of the story; but it is definitely the slow burn romance with a closeted partner at the forefront.

There were some parts in the book that seemed a little too easy - but it helped out FMC's get where they needed/wanted to be - so I'll roll with it.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

✨ARC Book Review✨

This book definitely made me feel so many emotions!

It starts off with Jade and April meeting by chance at a night club. After having the most perfect night, they realize they didn’t exchange numbers… But later, fate brings them back together 👏🏻💗

This book follows two women with very different experiences in the dating world… Jade being a womanizer and April being closeted. I loved the tenderness and patience Jade showed while nurturing their relationship. She supported April while still maintaining her own boundaries.

April had the weight of the world on her shoulders. Being a famous tennis player in the spotlight must have been incredibly stressful while exploring her sexuality. It made me so angry some of the heavy topics she had to consider because of her sexual orientation!

And don’t even get me started on the book’s climax! 👀 I loved how everything ended, but it bothered me seeing them have to go through drama like that 💔

Honestly, seeing these women find their way and supporting each other to be their true authentic self was so heartwarming and endearing 🥹🌈💖

4.5 stars

A reformed player and a closeted queer woman don't seem like they'd work, but Jade and April defy the odds.

After a night out with each of their best friends, April catches Jade's eye and they agree to go for a walk. They spend literal hours just talking, but never bringing up anything too personal. At the end of the night, they part ways, only to eventually realize that they never exchanged phone numbers.

Eventually, their lives crash back together and they do their best to spend time together, even if it is over FaceTime.

Truthfully, I loved the story. Jade and April are such a great pair, and the fact that their lives are already entwined was amazing! Jade was the perfect, supportive partner to April as she navigated her identity, even with the bumps in the road.

I enjoyed this quite a lot, and I can't wait to see where Elle takes us next, with book three in the series!

Please read Trust Fall before reading this book. This is book two of The Stargazer Collection.

Out and proud, Jade, meets closeted, April, in a bar. Who knew a night of conversation was all that was needed. This is a great way for a meet cute. Jade, honestly, is such an amazing person. I love how respectful she is and just go with the flow. Even for having a womanizer persona before this. April, having the fear to deal with coming out, is still adorable.

It’s great seeing the characters from Trust Fall. Ivy is such a great soon to be sister-in-law for Jade, and how she can talk to her for advice. April has a great friend for her sports support, having her father as a manager. But damn, I just wanted to be her friend for her support. She trusts Dani and goes for it. Even with be in fear of coming out, Jade is supportive of April and helps her through it.

I love how woven this story is into Trust Fall. It is a great story. In some ways we can see ourselves in all these characters. You see how Jade and April choose to live their lives and be themselves.

Thank you for the ARC.

I was accepted by Elle Cobin to be a part of the ARC team for Game Plan and below is my honest review.

Game Plan is book 2 in The Stargazer Collection with book 1 being Trust Fall which I have also recently read.

The story follows Jade and April. Their first meeting is the definition of a meet cute but they don’t exchange numbers and months go by. But life has a funny way of surprising people..

I really liked Jades character, she knows what she wants. I liked her in Trust Fall so was glad this book was centred around her life. I think both characters and the side characters are all written very well and are so likeable.

There was times where the writing I felt leaned more towards being a YA read but I still really enjoyed it. It covers the tough topic of having to hide your sexuality which I wish still wasn’t a thing but sadly it is. I think it was handled very well.

Overall this was a lovely read full of sapphic yearning and I would absolutely read more from this author.

I recommend this to anyone who loves a sapphic romance filled with yearning.

I give this 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4 on Goodreads and Amazon)

Thank you Elle for asking me to read and review!

I read Trust Fall and then Game Plan back to back and while I really enjoyed Trust Fall I'd say Game Plan resonated a lot better for me. I love a good coming out story while navigating tricky situations and this one really delivered. I loved this book so much! Jade was such a good support system for April and so patient while she figured out how to navigate her coming out and how it would effect her career, family and future. I fell so hard for their story and was so invested from their meet cute at a bar until the end. They are so good for each other and I really enjoyed this cozy read!

I didn’t think Elle Cobin could top the absolute, heart-in-your-throat wholesomeness of Trust Fall, but here we are with Game Plan. This book met all of my ridiculously high expectations. Game Plan elevates pining to a competitive sport. Cobin delivers a masterclass in slow-burn chemistry, serves up witty banter, and gives us characters so beautifully flawed you want to shake them and hug them at the same time. Five Stars! Highly recommended.

ARC REVIEW--Thank you to the author Elle Cobin for an advanced copy.

I enjoyed this book so much!
Game Plan is Book 2 in the Stargazer series and follows Cleo's (book 1--Trust Fall) younger sister Jade as she tries to track down the woman she spent the best evening of her life with--a woman without a last name, who isn't out, and who managed to capture Jade's heart in just a few hours.

April is a star athlete. All work and very little playtime--just the way her manager/father insists. When she finally convinces him she needs a night out with her friend Dani she has no idea her entire world is about to be turned upside down in the best possible way.

Jade and April's lives get complicated quickly and I wouldn't have it any other way. Powerhouse personalities and an energy-packed setting lets the reader watch these two fall in love and navigate coming out, homophobia in women's tennis, and what it means to find your family.

**I received this as an e-ARC and I’m grateful to have been chosen. This is my honest review**

I loved the connection they have and how they adapt to each other so well. This was such a cute book, I read it in one sitting! I had to know what happened lol. It touches on having to hide your sexuality and I love that it does because it’s a hard topic sometimes.

10/10 recommend
