Abby Watson is lost inside the books and stories in her head. As a writer of children’s fantasy, she is immersed in the world of fairy tales. It’s the outside world she is unfamiliar with. Other than a chance encounter with a man in uniform, she has no social life. But that’s just fine with her. She loves her job and doesn’t feel the need for anything more.
When her friends insist that she at least try to get a life other than inside her apartment, they set out to take her on a mission to have fun. At a club she’s been dragged to, she stumbles upon the only man she's the least bit attracted to—Nick, the policeman in the uniform. When he asks her to dance, sparks fly.

Will she finally break out of her apartment and have a life with this very attractive cop or will she regret ever leaving her home in the first place?

I grew up in Kingston Ontario, Canada, and after getting married, moved to a small rural town in the country. I live here with my husband Brad, two kids Josh and Megan, and our dog Bailey. Even though our house is peaceful, surrounded by nature and the occasional deer, I'm still a city girl at heart. I miss civilization, and visits with my mother and two sisters.

It's ... how do you say one of those books most people will hate but at the same time I think the ones who have either been in Abby's shoes or known someone in her position or have worked in that particular field (like me) you will love it.

Although I did find myself going "HELLO...RED FLAG!! RIGHT THERE!!!"

But for someone who I never been around that type of relationship I can see how she would think it was sweet and romantic instead of the possessive hold he was slowly putting on her.

Overall its a good read kinda reminded me of the movie Enough but with his behavior moving a lot quicker and its a good read but for some like I stated want like it.

This is the first book of three. Abigail meets her boyfriend Nick in this book who ends up abusing her. This book is mostly about her relationship with him and how she escaped. The book had good characters and I’m ready to see how her life unfolds in the rest of the series.

Nice to read I guess. But had a hard time following story. Couldn't get into it. Not what I thought story was about.

A sheltered author takes leap, but instead of prince charming catching her, he lets her fall and then keeps kicking her.

Abigail writes childrens book and stays in her apartment. When Nick takes interest in her and starts dating her, she falls hard. The red flags go unnoticed by her, but not by others. When it all comes crashing down, her only chance is to run. With the help of her neighbor she flees...but will Nick be able to find her this time too?

This is a quick story and a sheltered girl who ignores all the warning signs. She falls in love, her heart leads her, while her brain tries to tell her it's bad. The heart wants what it wants, until it's been hurt to many times. I liked it, I felt terrible for Abigail. She had already lost so much and then to hook up with this creeper, it just angered me.
