Outstanding continuation of an outstanding series!! Really love the world Ryan Jackson has painted with his words for Alrick and his bonds, and I can't wait to see what happens in the next adventure.
This one was just as riveting as the other 3, and I finished it too fast. Or there weren't enough words. Either or. Can't wait to get the next book!
I am being a bit vague, as I don't want to gush about anything and spoil what is happening!
To be fair, if you've made it this far, you love the characters and what they are going thru. I don't know why anyone would just pick up a fourth book of a series.
Don’t really care for the MC. He gets distracted by anything bright and shiny. He’s egotistical and arrogant. And his having to push his love through his bonds and telling bond mates he loves them every few minutes is enough to make you gag. Also don’t think much of the academy. Not teaching them how to work as a unit or taking them out into the field until the forth year is just stupid. Also not teaching them high level spells is idiotic. I did like the interaction of the girls. But I don’t know if it’s enough for me to get the next book

The character relationships remain a highlight. The spotlights shifts a little to focus on characters that had previously been less focused on. The new characters are a good additions to the cast.
The action and sex scenes both have improved. Character motivations and development are better integrated into their actions.
The plot threads remain more of a background part, but they are interesting enough to support the story.
I'm so happy this series is continuing past the academy. I feel like so many books just cover the school time and then end, when I realized about 30% into this one it wasn't moving toward am ending in this one I was very happy. Hopefully we get a few more books out of this as it seems there is a lot of story left to tell. As for the review it's simple if you loved the pervious books you love this one.
I started at book 1 great, book 2 slightly reservation, book 3 good, book4 has moved back to great story telling. mom reminds me of moraine from wheel of time in character. the rest are new and innovative character builds. world is growing bigger every book.
The best parts of this book are the family and the characters. I really enjoy Aldric's team of bonds and their unique interactions and relationships. Aldric himself could use some tactics advice and/or common sense. But I can't fault him for spending most of his time on his girls instead of being a badass.
This series confirms what an amazing Storyteller this author is!!! Finally the beginning of some answer to who the mysterious evil leader is as well as the understanding of the MC's powers!!! More more more!!!!
