Kieran had no idea the man he'd been dreaming about was a real person…
Yet he never would have guessed that actually meeting Ash would be just the beginning of their problems. Kieran is shocked to discover the people closest to him aren't as accepting as he expected, and as family secrets are slowly revealed and once solid beliefs begin to unravel, can he really trust that bringing his mate home will keep the man safe?
Ash can't just up and leave his pack and move to Lupinville. He has responsibilities and people who rely on him. He needs time to organize his life. And he really wants a chance to think clearly without the mating heat fogging his mind.
But as Kieran and Ash both work to prepare their lives and the people around them for a big change, it's the discovery that their mating has an unexpected "side effect" that throws everything into chaos. With Ash suddenly in life-threatening danger, can Kieran find a way to make sure his mate is safe?

This is my second mpreg book and I think this "out of the box" genre is is quite good. Out of my comfort read, but it's okay so far. I hope they're all sweet. Not over the top sweet but good enough to make me open to read another mpreg books in the future. Ash and Kieran are interesting couple, and I loved how they're interacted to each other. Kieran's brother Aiden makes me wanted to read Luppinvie series someday..
While enjoyed this book it was a little less about the Havenwood pack and more of a mixture between Havenwood and Lupinville. I would have liked for it to be more about its namesake, if I want to read about Lupinville they have their own series. I wold have liked to know more about the people of Havenwood and what's going on there because I already know what's going on in the other pack.
I'm unclear as to why this is a series called HAVENWOOD.
Havenwood isn't safe for male/male interaction. Lupinville WILL be involved. In essence this is an extension of Lupinville.
Now Kieran.. also a bit of back and forth. I don't usually notice this kind of thing from this author. Kieran as the beginning is totally untrustworthy of not only Aiden, remembering his unscrupulous reputation of old, but by extension to Noah, seeing as ex-human and able to be 'duped' by said Aiden. Even though it's been 5 years since Noah took over, and several male/males couples have popped up, and male omega's outed... No, the ex-human can't be trusted.
Later on, Kieran is telling Ash that they will be safer in Lupinville where male omegas are known and there are gay couples.
As far as pregnancy.. not really surprised even though this is the first brought forth. Kind of expected it sooner actually. The only thing is, why make a male omega, and make him able to get pregnant, but NOT make it possible with give birth without help?
The truth about Keiran's parents are hinted at but the full story actually surprised me.
So, slightly harsh on this but in spite of the mentioned, I actually did like this.
Yay another shifter series by Alice Cain that related to Lupinville series..
That was a nice suprise! an Mpreg? hmm.. well I guess Ms Alice Cain was trying to do something new and different, don't get me wrong I'm down with that. I am glad that Ash and Keiran didn't jump into bed as soon as they see each other but have decided to go slow. Thus gives way to a slower connection between the two and not a rush plot.
But few complains from me ~ I know here it comes.... -__- 1 - There were a lot and I mean A LOT of mistaken labeled name. At one moment I was sure it was Ash's dialogue but it said Keiran and Keiran name was replaced by Ash, etc and there was even Justin (from Aleteeka Protection) - doesn't even explained why he's there, just his name?? Huh?
2 - a skip scene? What happened to Donovan after he came to find Ash at his restaurant? Who were Peter & Benjamin?
Other than that it was an enjoyable book. Lupinville was my first series with this author and I really enjoyed them ~ hopefully the second book would be better..
Omega suppressing his true nature can't hide from the wandering Alpha, yielding secrets, oppression and bullying/phobic danger
Recommended for: Fans of simple and light but cutely comforting Omegaverse rescue and escape
While I didn't find this to be particularly compelling, it was a simple but decent story of Alpha & Omega mating heat, a bit of sizzle, pack politics, and a bit of a surprise MPreg. Worth it for those who enjoy a relatively cutesy, simplistic, and light shifter Omegaverse read.
Genre: Shifter Omegaverse H/H: Alpha from Lupinville & "Omega in hiding" from Havenwood Location : Alternate Omegaverse Universe (Lupinville & Havenwood) Themes: Accidental meeting during heat, secret relationship, Omegaphobia/oppression, kidnapping, family homophobia, surprise MPREG Heat: Moderate
Normally a story from Alice Cain would earn at least a four star for the interesting characters and the excellent writing. This time however I have to admit to being vastly disappointed in the editing of the work. There were so many instances of the wrong character name being used and throwing me out of the story that I honestly lost track of the number. This is not the kind of stuff I am paying good money to read. I seriously think that Ms. Cain should fire her present beta readers and editors and re issue this book before she loses some fans (myself being one if the next book is as bad).
Well, this was an interesting start to a new series that's a spin-off of her other werewolf series. However, I felt like the story focused so much on the pack politics and so many characters all at once, I didn't really feel the connection between the two MCs. Plus, they met every quarter, and it was just too much summarizing and telling.
