Brett Shackley came to Hollywood for a taste of the fast life and hot, famous men. He never expected to find love behind the scenes.
Brett Shackley has watched his best friend find love with a famous actor. His connections have also given him the opportunity to work as a personal assistant to another Who’s-Who in Hollywood. He’s a bit flamboyant and perhaps a tad too giddy when he settles on a new celebrity crush. So blinded by the brilliance of the bright lights headliner, he fails to see what’s right before his eyes.
Brett follows his boss to yet another movie set, preparing to scope out the new faces on the latest project. Sadly, it also means he’s sidelined with all the other assistants and behind the camera crew. Brett doesn’t mind too much as long as a certain actor gets a shirtless scene—and soon!
Eddie Huff has been around a couple of years. He knows a thing or two about playing it cool. The fact that Brett, a fellow personal assistant to the stars, is going gaga over Eddie’s A-list boss annoys him. What’s worse is that he now has to stay in close proximity with Brett. He gets to hear each longing sigh and flattering gush of superlatives— every single day. It’s enough to drive a guy insane. What’s worse is, Eddie begins to suspect that he might be just a teeny bit jealous that Brett’s single-minded attention is wasted on a star who couldn’t care less about anyone except himself.
Eddie thinks Brett might be the man for him. Now he has to convince the starry-eyed novice that the right heartthrob for the part isn’t the guy in front of the camera.
I SUCK at remembering to log in and approve friends. I'm so sorry I've made some of you wait. Please forgive my apparent chill, I swear it's not intended. Come hug me!

This is the third book in the, Hollywood Hotties Series. There is a brief mention to previous characters but not enough to not be able to read as a stand alone.
Brett lands himself on the same set with his celebrity crush, Damon Dexter. Brett is working as an assistant to another actor. It's his first stint in Hollywood and when he makes a blunder another assistant, Eddie, helps him. Eddie just happens to be Damon's assistant. Brett wants to use this opportunity to find out the inside scope on Damon. Brett may find more than he bargained for with Eddie.
Heartthrob is a quick sexy straightforward read. No hidden messages, no surprises, no angsty love issues. Just a quick little love story.
FourandHalfStars I kept expecting this book to turn and be about Dexter, but I was happy with the way it went.
Brett is surprised by his attraction to Eddie. I do wish there was a bit more clarification at times because I felt confused like Eddie was about whether Brett was in it for him or still trying to get to Dexter.
I liked how even though Brett hadn't expected a relationship, especially not with someone unfamous, the way he looked at it. He had the man behind the man, the one who helped him be as successful and on top of everything.
Eddie was jaded and Brett's bright and cheery outlook showed him life isn't always the way Hollywood acts.
I will say the twists and turns were quite unexpected.
As usual, the writing was well done and I can't wait for more from Ms. Watts.

ThreeandHalfStars Brett is an eager assistant in Hollywood - the newbie has not been jaded to the Hollywood lifestyle yet. He is not immune to the glitz, glamour or the tabloid news - whether he believes it because he truly believes or because he wants to believe in the Hollywood dream, who knows?
Eddie has been in the business of making his Hollywood star shine - he is used to covering up the darker side. When he is befriended by Brett - Eddie must choose.
I wanted to slap Damon - what an idiotic, mean-spirited Di*k. And Eddie, I wanted to slap him too for being so jaded as to think the worst of Brett.
I love Brett's character - so innocent yet so naughty - he knows what he wants and goes after it. Unfortunately, sometimes, the stars in his eyes blind others to his true intentions.
While this wasn't my favorite of the series thus far, it was still a sweet story. It was just a little too quick for me.

Heartthrob is the third installment in Mia Watts Hollywood Hotties series. Each book works as a stand-alone. Brett has a small role in each book, but Eddie is a completely new face for the series. As for characters from previous books making an appearance, they are barely even mentioned in this one. So feel safe in going into this book without having read the others. Glitz and glamour and all the jazz of stardom has drawn Brett into the folds of Hollywood. His friend Dar (Ryan Pierce) has helped him get a job as a personal assistant to an actor. Brett is over the moon excited about this. The job opportunity puts him in close proximity of his latest celebrity crush Damon Dexter. Dexter’s own personal assistant Eddie knows what Damon is like behind the scenes. Eddie can’t for the life of him understand why the beautiful Brett would be even remotely attracted to Damon. Eddie was born and raised in LA and completely understands that all that glitz can make even the ugly pretty. As it turned out Brett was a little too flakey to ever really like. Brett’s childishness and his actions that got Eddie into some trouble with his boss just made it difficult for me to understand the attraction. Eddie is responsible and very mature. He was in part responsible for opening the door that allowed Brett to make a wrong decision even worse. The only thing that made sense about Eddie and Brett being a couple was two hotties getting some action in Hollywood.
Heartthrob by Mia Watts is the third book in the Hollywood Hotties series. I didn’t read the previous novels and I was not lost at all. Brett: If I had one image to describe him, and over active adorable puppy. One that gets on your last nerve but you love ‘cause he is just that darn cute and loveable. He has a case of star struck when he first gets on set. But soon we learn just because he is easy going, flirty, and jokes all the time doesn’t not mean he doesn’t have more to him. Brett is the guy you cannot help but love. Eddie: He is the personal assistant to Brett’s dream man. He is uptight, all business. He also works for the boss from hell. He finds himself falling under the charms of Brett very fast. But Eddie is more cynical than Brett, he wants to be sure things are real. I think he needs Brett to loosen him up and show him sometimes people are just what they appear to be. Over all this is a really quick, sweet read. I would love to go back and see what I missed in this series. It is light hearted, and just really sweet. I love a book that makes me smile as I read it, and this book really does that.
This is book three in the Hollywood Hotties series and can be read as stand alone. This is all about the assistance, Brett friend has found love with a Hollywood actor and now Brett wants the same thing, no matter that the actor is question is straight. However, said actor’s assistant is not, Eddie knows the score but when Brett comes over for dinner and a chat things heat up. Brett and Eddie are cute together, Brett is this care free everything smells like roses, and Eddie has been around for a few years and understands the real score. Because the story is so short, about 50 pages, I couldn’t get much of a deeper connection with these two. But I did feel the pain Eddie went through with Brett’s supposed betrayal, not sure I would have been so quick to understand or forgive. I also liked at the end we finally saw what an a-hole Damon really is, not just Eddie telling us. This was a quick no deep thinking right before bed read. This was my first book from Mia Watts and I was pleasantly surprised. This book is book 3 in the Hoolywood Hotties series and it's a really good one. We follow along with a young and whimsical Brett as he moves through the Hollywood movie scene. He's just looking to have a good time. He never expected Eddie. Good thing Eddie was ready for him.
