Although I'm not finished with this book, I'm nearing the end. This book is about the protagonist,Jenny trying to survive middle school. She's behind her friend in "Popularity" and struggling to catch up from a summer away at camp. My least favorite part is when her old best friend ditches her for, "Pops" the somewhat cool kids.I don't like that because then Jenny feels lonely and it's a very sad part in the book.As well as sad parts there are quite happy parts like when she plays basketball and has a water fight with her new friends. It's a happy part because there all having a great time with each other. This is a fast-paced book because of how many and how fast obstacles are thrown at poor Jenny.I can't wait to finish the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It is a "survival guide" to middle school. I like how Jenny McAfee in the book was insecure but gained her confidence throughout the book. What I dislike is how unrealistic the book perceives middle school to be. The author mentions a lot of bullying and really popular girls, which isn't necessarily the case. Most middle school students just keep to themselves and their friends, majorly because they're scared of the upperclassmen. Overall I gave this book a 3/5 for my enjoyment of going through these stories, but some untrue concepts.

I read this boook when I was in 5th grade moving into the 6th grade and I'll never forget how well it was written and I could be into a good book at the age of 10! It reminded me of real life and how people change once they enter into a new school and meet new people and you can tatally forget thier old friends! I like how it came alive. How I survived middle school is one of my very first novel Iv read. And ill never forget it! ever.

How I Survived Middle School is a very good book. It really tells you how hard it is sometimes to fit in and fins the right group of friends and how you need to adventure out to find knew people that like you for you. It tells you that you don't have to change yourself just to fit in, and Jenny does change herself. The story is told through first person point of view, which makes the book more understandable in my opinion. The setting of the book is mostly at Joyce Kilmer Middle School. The main character in the book is a girl named Jenny and she is going through some pretty tough times with her friends. All that Jenny wants to do is be apart of the popular girls and that isn't who Jenny really is. Jenny can be very shy at some points and she isn't really confident about herself or what she wears so she is trying to change her look. I really had a personal connection with Jenny because she was trying to find the perfect group of friends and she finally found one that really lets her be her without changing herself. I would rate this book a three because I could kind of tell what was about to happen in the story and I liked the grammar that they book had, they kind of played around with some words. The book was very well detailed and I like when books are good detailed because it makes them capture your attention and it makes you want to keep on reading the book over and over. I like books that really pull me in from the begging and make me want to read more of those books. The book is really telling you that you don't have to change you just to fit in with the wrong crowd of people.

The "How I Survived Middle School" series is an enjoyable, easily relatable one for elementary and middle schoolers, and a fun (and, at times, traumatic) blast from the past for highschoolers and adults! I first read these books in grade six, and recently re-read a few (all in the course of a few days, I am unashamed to say!) Nancy has real insight into the minds of young girls - I thought so at twelve, and think so at fifteen. Highly recommended.

You can't ever screw up books as simple as these. I found this extremely cute, going into High School and leaving Middle School, and found it fun to recall on all those silly moments you felt most embarressed or awesome in Middle School. So, read this is you are bored, if you need to read something quick for a grade in a class, or just for fun.

This was a cute, quick read (50 minutes) for incoming Middle Schoolers. Captures the emotion of starting middle school well. I read only book 1, though I could not find it on Goodreads - just a package of the 1st 3 or 4 books.

In some way I felt identified with the tittle, it totally grabbed my attention. And then, reading trough this pages I found out I had more in common with the main character than I thought. It was nice reading it while I was in middle school.

These books were good, but waaaaaaay to short. I read them in 4th grade, and even then I felt they should have been longer.

This was a really good book. It's what every kid thinks like when they first enter middle school. Betrayal of a best friend, now what are you going to do? Jenny is a fun character to tag along with.
