Thank you to the Smuthood and the lovely author Daisy Jane for this arc of Like Father, Like Son. I knew I was gonna like it from the blurb but actually experiencing their journey was amazing!!!! It was adorable and fluffy and everything I could ever want in a MM book!
Yes they are both professors but c’mon Noahhh!!! The whole fake date was just mean, but I will say the silent treatment was both funny and petty which is my sweet spot 💁🏽♀️ but can’t fault him because it all worked in his favour.
It was so sad when Cade thought he was broken because he never had that feeling for human connection and even when he tried to have that in grad school, it further sent him down the spiral. UNTIL NOAH, even if he didn’t recognise his feelings. He still had them weird moments of imagining or staring just a tad bit longer than necessary.
Yes there was a lot of running away but in the end even Cade’s heart knew before his head that Noah was for him. And Noah being patient but also he’s a pro at this time because he’s had a crush for 5 years on him. Waited for him every single time and never gave up on them, even when it seemed that Cade let his insecurities eat him up….
This would of been a 5 star but I felt like we were robbed! The ending of their story was summarised in 5 sentences!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yay for the events and happy for them that is shown in that tiny paragraph, but it could of been another chapter, perhaps an epilogue because I wasn’t ready to end the story with that 😭💀

You can guarantee you've got yourself a five star reads when you manage to devour it in less than a day.
Cade meets Noah when they're both college professor's who share an office. Cade is all rules, routines and work focussed. Not having a need or want for relationships, thinking part of him is just broken. Noah, mister popular, confident and sociable, Cades polar opposite. He noticed the reserved, closed off new professor the day he attended his interview and from that day on, his desire for Cade has continued to grow, year after year, he just needs a way to get Cade to open up.
I refuse to post spoilers in this review so that all you're getting of the plot. But I will say this, this book was one of the most captivating I've read in a while and it will undoubtedly become one of my favourites of the year.
This book completely consumed me and my whole day. The slow burn was impeccable and down right bloody delicious! Noah and Cade may have just become one of my all time favourite mm couples because these two together, absolute *chefs kiss* 🤌🏼 Cade sneaking glances at Noah's ink, trying to resist his seductive comments and sexy smirks, to Noah eating up Cade in, as he calls them, his "slutty little glasses", his sexy running shorts and wanting to climb inside his skin, just to know him inside and out. All of it, was just completely perfect 🩵💙

Cade and Noah. MM. two professors who are both nervous for different and low risk reasons make it a big ass deal for 300 pages…. Then nothing happens throughout the whole book…. That’s it that’s the story.
What really gets me truly angry though is the absolute “misuse” of pansexuality. Cade thought himself asexual for many years.. until he came to know and adore Noah which is when he was able to realize his awakened sexual desire….. that is NOT pansexuality…. That is demisexuality. In the way it’s described she’s describing demisexuality… you can be pan and Demi sure…. But the explanation of Cade most deeply engrained in this book is describing demisexual and I cannot stand when it’s a chance to educate and it isn’t taken.

Firstly, I want to thank Smuthood for the advanced copy and a chance to be an ARC reader on this wonderful story. I will say that I have not read the other books in this series, but I don't think that took anything away from these lovely characters. I think you'll get a better understanding of the MC's family (and I do plan to go back and read about the others) but I can say if you just need to read this story as a standalone it is doable.
Now for the review:
Oh my gosh! This was such an amazing book. I have read a few other Daisy Jane books, but I have to say this is one of my favorites out of the bunch. Cade and Noah are amazing and so wholesome. I deeply related to Cade on a mental and spiritual level (everything he felt and said, I have felt myself) and that just made the story a thousand percent better.
The angst and slow burn (I wouldn't say it was terribly slow *wink wink*). I'd say they do "connect" early in the story, but I love how Daisy Jane explored their relationship together instead of waiting until the last minute to have them get together. I would have loved to read more about their relationship instead of speeding it along to keep the flow of the story, but I mean if this could have been a six-hundred-page book I wouldn't have complained. All I am stating is “DAISY JANE IF YOU ARE THERE!" We all want more of Noah and Cade! LOL
The Main Characters and their development:
Noah - An all-around charming guy who wears his heart on his tattooed wrist "hmmm". He was such a lovable character and such an understanding man. His patience with Cade "awww" We all need a Noah in our lives just to motivate and keep the day fun and laughable. Noah was such a romantic and just an all-round MAN (hehe). Noah was such a sweetheart, and he knew exactly how to be with Cade. I loved the push and pull between them; Noah always knew when to push or pull back but do not underestimate him because when he wants something he takes it. He never stopped fighting for his man and I respect that deeply about him.
Cade – a shy, detail oriented and rule follower in those “cough” glasses “Iykyk”. I have never identified with a character the way I have with Cade. The rules and structure helping to move him through a day is so relatable. I love how he worked on himself and tore down his walls to be with Noah. I love how he didn’t really have so much of a personality change, he just became a more open version of himself. He learned to talk through his emotions instead of hiding them inside his mind until he spiraled. He also learned how to stop labeling himself into a box and accepting that even though he may be different in some ways he is still just as lovable and kind as the next person. The fact that Noah never wanted Cade to change but to accept his true self and learn how to be a version that accepts the changes around himself, one that is not a broken doll just moving through life. A man who is loved.
Other Man: Bro, we don’t even need to discuss this man. I don’t think this trope took away from the story. I do understand the point Daisy Jane was making bringing in this man to build and reform the relationship between the main characters. I love that the whole book wasn’t about this trope, it was not a focal point until it needed to be. So don’t be afraid to pick up this book because you fear a love triangle or unnecessary drama. It was needed to jump start Cade into accepting and loving himself but “ahhh” the pain I felt put a lump in my throat “but have no fear it only lasts a minute”
To wrap it all up I would recommend this book, it was beautifully made and it had me wanting to find my own Noah out there. The wholesomeness and love between these characters made me gasps and reread a few paragraphs “more dirty talk please”. Please pick up a copy if you have chance, you will not regret reading and learning about these characters and the love they built.

For some reason that I am unsure of, I imagined both MMCs having a sort of Superman x Batman dynamic before reading. More accurately, Clark Kent and Batman because Clark wears glasses and Batman is the stoic, grumpy one.... although Cade who is the grumpy one wears glasses and Noah who is the sunshine doesn't so maybe I shouldn't have tried intertwining Superman and Batman into this considering that the only information I have of them is from SuperBat fanfics and Justice League cartoon movies that I watched years ago (which I wouldn't really rely on either because I can't even remember what I had for breakfast today, so something of years ago wouldn't be any easier for me to recall 🥲). Again this should explain why I was caught off guard about seeing Cade described as a blue eyed blonde.
Anyway, I'm derailing from the main topic of discussion, my bad😔.
Cade who is 27 has known and shared a shoebox of an office with Noah who is 30 for five years. Five years of stolen glances, lingering touches and admiration which they both try to deny and label as "professional" (no clue how staring at his throat has anything to do with professional especially since neither of them were biology professors). I know five years is a lot of time to form a bond but to me it felt like the relationship was rushed although that may be due to me not reading the earlier books in the series🤷🏼♀️
There were a few things that didn't sit right with me. First was during Noah's monologue when he said Cade was everything he wasn't looking for such as attractive, smart etc. Why would you be looking for someone who lacks these qualities? Or am I misunderstanding the sentiment?? Second was when Noah started giving Cade silent treatment. Silent treatment is a tricky thing and is sometimes used as a manipulative tactic even though in this case I understand that he was hurt and with good reason because Cade came to HIS house and immediately after cumming, Cade freaks out and dashes off. That definitely doesn't add any boost to a person's self esteem. Thirdly how did Noah suddenly (more like five days) go from ignoring Cade to wearing a butt plug for him during a staff meeting?? Another event was how they didn't communicate until like 60%- 70% of the book.
Regardless I do relate with Cade a bit(unfortunately not in the aspect of supportive parent). Questioning your sexuality can be overwhelming and panic inducing especially when you've spent so long trying to ignore it. I assumed that he was demisexual due to him needing to have a strong connection with someone before getting aroused for that person so I was a bit surprised when he came out as pan. Back to my research it is. I'm so glad Cade had someone as understanding and patient as Noah to guide him. I can't say how many times I've been called selfish and other names for not wanting to be intimate with partners even though I had informed them wayyyyyyy before the relationship started (someone even pulled that stupid nonsensical "it's our body" card just because we were dating 🤦🏼♀️🙄😒)
Another ridiculous assumption I had made was that Noah's ex was Cade's father🥲(title and blurb kinda resulted to the birth of this). Although after reading this, I'm happy I was wrong because the actual concept behind the title is soooo much better. I did feel like the final chapter was a bit hasty?? But regardless I liked this book(not as much as I hoped to but still).

Noah is his opposite, more care free, flirty, and outgoing. He has spent the last five years watching Cade and learning everything he can about him. The mutual longing and pining was palpable. It becomes clear that Cade wasn’t picking up that Noah was trying to pursue something with him. So Noah decided to push the issue by leading him into the supply closet and kissing him. A short and sweet kiss that turned Cade’s world upside down and inside out. Cade is left utterly confused about what he’s feeling. He always thought that part of him was broken, since he’s never felt this way before. It’s his sister who helps him realize he’s Pansexual. Cade just needed the right person to figure it out. Noah was “his key.” Noah respected Cade and his boundaries he knew when to push and when to allow him time to process things. Noah didn’t mind going slow if it meant he could be with Cade. I loved the deep emotional connection and the incredible chemistry between Cade and Noah. Their romance was exceptional in its portrayal of mutual pinning and yearning. With captivating characters and off the charts chemistry the slow burn will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see when things will finally heat up.

I know an amazing, adorable, and cute couple when I see one, and Cade and Noah are definitely one of them.
The high and intoxicating tension between them had me on the edge the entire time. And their longing and pining for each other? Was everything😩. The stolen glances, grabbing coffee together, pretending to pay attention during peer review lectures while being completely distracted by each other.. God, i was in love.
And the forced proximity between them in that "shoebox office"(their words not mine) was a cherry on top. It made the tension thicker and hotter. When it finally snapped, i was over the moon because the attraction and tension between them had been simmering for over five years, and i couldn't wait for them to do something about it. Aaaaaahhh i love these two so much.
Such an amazing read! The OMD wasn't overdone, and I loved it that way..the spice was perfect. Cade takes his time, and Noah is one very patient man when it comes to what and who he wants.

I LOVED CADE AND NOAH SO DAMN MUCH 😭❤️🔥 These two absolutely stole my heart and I was completely obsessed with watching them figure each other out.
Cade had me feeling ALL the emotions. After spending so long keeping everyone at a distance and convincing himself he didn’t need or want anything more, watching Noah slowly break through those walls was EVERYTHING. And the fact that Cade was discovering this whole new side of himself and trusting Noah enough to let him in?? My heart could not handle it. 🥹
And NOAH. I freaking loved Noah. The patience, the confidence, the way he never made Cade feel like there was anything wrong with being inexperienced or figuring things out at his own pace. He was exactly what Cade needed. He didn’t just want Cade physically, he actually SAW him, and I loved that so much.
Their chemistry was 🔥🔥🔥 but it was the emotional connection that really got me. The friendship turning into something so much more, that first kiss changing EVERYTHING, the tension, the vulnerability, Cade’s insecurities and Noah constantly showing him that he was wanted… I was GONE.

There was so much pining and yearning that it was dripping from the pages, like condensation, or maybe that was me just sweating. The intense want and desire between the two mmc, Cade and Noah, was palpable. I'm pretty sure I spent half the book literally holding my breath in anticipation.
I was captivated instantly.
Cade, the sweet rule following, strait-laced, guarded English professor with the slutty glasses has no idea his office mate and colleague Noah, has been slowly falling in love with him for 5 years. Noah is the complete opposite of Cade, confident, social, dynamic and sexually experienced. Cade would never assume anyone would find him desirable; let alone the beautiful and intelligent man he's ever known. Cade has been under the assumption he's broken since he has never really experienced sexual desire before and never dreamed of being in a relationship, that is until Noah.
Cade soon has a sexual awakening realizing that he is pansexual (what the author is describing both demi- sexual not pansexual (gender is unimportant)-Cade must have an emotional bond with someone in order to be sexually and romantically involved with another person (demi sexual).
Noah, done with their -will they won't they-dance, actively pursues Cade, and helps him come to terms with who he is and what he wants. Noah doesn't judge or push and lets Cade set the pace. Sweet and spicy. Both characters are captivating and extremely likable, which made the story even more enjoyable.
4.5 stars worthy (even with the sexuality labeling a bit off).
The slow burn was amazing, the chemistry was off the charts, the pining and yearning had me holding my breath in anticipation, and Cades journey of self-discovery encased in self-doubt had me teary-eyed more than once. What a surprising read.

Watching Cade discover who he truly is and slowly learn to accept his sexuality was such a beautiful journey. Seeing Noah stand by his side every step of the way, supporting him with endless patience, kindness, and reassurance had me completely in love with these two. I was kicking my feet, smiling like an idiot, and falling harder for them with every chapter.
And Noah... God, that man. Patient, charismatic, and devastatingly kind—just like Cade describes him. He never tried to rush Cade or push him before he was ready. He simply loved him exactly as he was, and that made me love Noah even more.

I had such a great time reading Like Father Like Son by Daisy Jane. From the very beginning, Cade and Noah completely pulled me in, and I found myself flying through the pages because I couldn't wait to see how their story unfolded.
Cade is interviewing for a teaching position at a college where Noah happens to be one of the board members conducting the interview. Cade is very much a rule-follower—structured, organized, and someone who likes to have every aspect of his life neatly planned out. Noah is much more relaxed, easygoing, and confident. What Cade doesn't realize (though the reader certainly does!) is that Noah has been quietly carrying a torch for him and watching that dynamic play out was both entertaining and incredibly sweet.
The chemistry between these two was undeniable from the start. Daisy Jane did a wonderful job building the tension, making every interaction feel meaningful and leaving me eagerly waiting for the moment they finally crossed that line from "what if" to "what now."
One of my favorite aspects of this story was Cade's journey of self-discovery. After a single kiss turns his world upside down, he's forced to confront feelings and questions about himself that he never expected. Rather than rushing through that process, the story allows Cade the time and space to work through it, making his growth feel authentic and relatable. Throughout it all, Noah's patience, kindness, and unwavering support made me love his character even more.

Oh, Daisy has certainly done it with Like Father, Like Son. Book three in the series “A Family Affair” is a story of discovery and patience, and sweet, sweet pining.
Cade and Noah have been working alongside each other as literature professors, sharing an office in a quiet yet pleasant existence.
Five years.
Until their professional (and personal) boundaries are gently coaxed, leisurely pushed, and deliberately obliterated.
Noah is the driving force in this story, and I fell under his spell immediately. The shift in energy between them is my favorite aspect of this story — Cade’s reactions and body signals drive Noah absolutely feral.
Cade has been noticing Noah, too. The men have cataloged details about each other that they realize are micro-expressions of attraction and these details had me giddy.
It is easy to see why Noah is so enamored with Cade — he is intelligent, beautiful, and unassuming. Cade lives in a pocket of unawareness; his sexual identity has made him feel broken and lonely in a way that is so heartbreaking and brilliantly written.
Daisy has written new territory for me to explore as a reader; Cade identifies as a pansexual man. He eventually learns to be patient with his pansexuality. It is written with so much support by those around him, and it is so refreshing to see him discover his truth.
This story is full of pining and tension. These two learn to communicate and flirt across the office, and these interactions were my favorite. I had a smile on my face as I read, and both of these men captured my whole heart.

This story is full of pining and tension. These two learn to communicate and flirt across the office, and these interactions were my favorite. I had a smile on my face as I read, and both of these men captured my whole heart.
These two are not a flash in the pan; the build up and payoff is well orchestrated, the spice is built on a foundation of discovery and awe…
And I couldn’t get enough. I really hope they have a story in the works for the future because I cannot wait to see Cade & Noah’s love flourish. I would follow these two anywhere.

When I found out Cade Mercer was getting his own book, it had my ears perked and I was so looking forward to it. To read how his and Noah’s story played out, be still my heart!
I started to fall in love with Cade in Father Knows Best, as the son of the bar mogul, Ford Mercer. The quiet son, who is a professor, you didn’t really hear much about him. He kept to himself, but was so passionate about his family, especially his best friend/sister, Kat, and his job, which he loved from such a young age. He felt “broken” around all his family who was finding love and showing it outwardly. But Cade, he didn’t love anyone besides his family.
But that was until Noah walked into his life, or should I say, got him to share his office (wink-wink). Noah is just so sure of himself and not afraid to go for what he wants in life and in his career. And the one thing he truly wants is Cade. Noah felt something about them from their first interaction. But the patience he had with Cade was beyond what anyone would normally have!
The love these two developed for each other from friendly teasing, to listening to each other’s conversations during office hours, to finding passion for things outside of the classroom and teaching. Noah was so patient with Cade to help him with his self-discovery! The kindness he showed blew me away! He never pushed, talked him through his fears and setbacks, and showed what true love really does look like.

Loved this one. I love a spicy and yummy romance... but I also love a tender and romantic story. And I really love when the two are combined together. This whole series by Daisy Jane has that same feel. You get the spice but also this tender story about two people coming together.

I was enjoying this story, it was a solid 4 stars until it collapsed into 3.
Cade and Noah took a very long time to get together, a very long time. The push and pull was a bit tiring, but I kept reading because I knew that, once Cade finally let himself go, it would be a great relationship. And it was. I adored all their tender moments together and especially Noah's tenderness.
What I didn't understand was Noah's stupid decision to hide something huge from Cade, like he didn't trust him to be able to handle his own feelings like a big boy. Cade was completely inexperienced both in romantic and physical relationships, but he's a very well respected professor, he has all his colleagues and students' esteem, he would have been capable of dealing with his ex, if Noah had given him all the information.
Instead, Noah let have the upper hand by keeping their past a secret and the worst part is, he knew perfectly well that
Moreover, he said he's been half in love with Cade for 5 years but that he dated other people in the meantime... I understand having hookups, but dating? I don't know, it kind of diminishes what he said he felt for Cade.
I skipped from their breakup around 85% of the book until the end: of course they found a way to get back together, but honestly, I'm not sure Noah was the right partner for Cade.

Cade is a live by the rules type of person, both in good personal life and professional life. It isn’t until he meets Noah, a tenured professor, that makes him want to break said rules. And the way Cade “relieves” himself after getting his peer review.. I honestly didn’t think Mr uptight rolled that way. And how he imagined being the rough one?? I loved it!
Noah, Mr. “Can I change your world forever?”😮💨 ugh I just love him. He is smart, charismatic, confident and so so so patient with Cade. He takes his time with him when he’s teaching him, it just shows how much he cares and has yearned for this man for YEARS. Although it did piss me off that he didn’t divulge who his last “ex” was to Cade. He should’ve been straightforward and told him the truth. But also like, Cade shouldn’t have taken as hard as he did, like you can’t get mad at the man for having more experience than you because his sexuality is different. You can be mad he didn’t tell you earlier, but to say he deserves to be with someone more experienced is messed up and just a reflection on how he’s feeling about himself and his sexuality.
I do love that Noah gave Cade some time to process but not too long where he would keep spiraling. I love that he takes initiative and makes him have to face his fears, albeit gentle. I enjoyed that Noah opened up a door in Cade’s mind that he thought was closed off to him forever.
I just wish we had an epilogue where we got to see what happened in Greece! But it was a sweet MM Professor x Professor, forced proximity romance. I throughly enjoyed every bit of this book.

This book had me giggling one minute and internally screaming, "JUST KISS ALREADY," the next. The tension was so thick I was convinced these two could've powered the entire campus if someone had hooked them up to a generator.
Cade was an absolute cinnamon roll with an anxiety budget the size of a national deficit, and I adored every second of watching him come into his own. His journey felt genuine, messy, and incredibly heartfelt. Noah, meanwhile, deserves some sort of Nobel Prize for patience. The man waited, supported, reassured, and somehow never stopped believing Cade would get there. Green flags? Noah is the entire forest.
The romance was packed with awkward moments, quiet vulnerability, and enough emotional payoff to make every second of anticipation worth it. When things finally clicked between them, I was grinning like an idiot.
I also loved that this story never forgot to be fun. The banter landed, the emotions landed even harder, and by the end I was completely invested in these two finding their happily ever after.

I've read the two previous books and I was so very excited that we were getting another. This third installment instantly became an anticipated read of mine. I jumped right back into the A Family Affair world. I loved this story so very much!

I love when they both yearn for each other but all they do instead is learn everything they can about each other by watching and listening. Noah and Cade share an office and I don't know how anyone doesn’t notice the sexual tension in that room.
Cade the uptight rule follower vs Noah the man that challenges him every chance he gets. The perfect yin and yang. I could not wait to see how things would unfold for them and who was going to make the first move.They are so gone for each other Noah was definitely more aware of it then Cade. I loved the character development for Cade. I loved that Noah knew what he wanted from the first moment they met. These two made me so giddy!
The books in this series just keep getting better and better. I cannot believe I'm reading the last book in this series. When I stumbled upon this book series I didn't know how much I would fall for the characters and I'm so glad I did. Daisy thank you for Cade and Noah and the slow burn , yearning that their story deserved.

I love when they both yearn for each other but all they do instead is learn everything they can about each other by watching and listening. Noah and Cade share an office and I don't know how anyone doesn’t notice the sexual tension in that room.
Cade the uptight rule follower vs Noah the man that challenges him every chance he gets. The perfect yin and yang. I could not wait to see how things would unfold for them and who was going to make the first move.They are so gone for each other Noah was definitely more aware of it then Cade. I loved the character development for Cade. I loved that Noah knew what he wanted from the first moment they met. These two made me so giddy!
The books in this series just keep getting better and better. I cannot believe I'm reading the last book in this series. When I stumbled upon this book series I didn't know how much I would fall for the characters and I'm so glad I did. Daisy thank you for Cade and Noah and the slow burn , yearning that their story deserved.

Great read!!!! It was soooo angsty in the best possible way. The tension and chemistry between Cade and Noah was off the charts, there wasn’t too much spice but what we got was delicious. It was a really hard book to put down for me.
I felt for Cade, all these years thinking he was broken for not being attracted to anyone, and even when he was his anxiety was not his friend. Noah was amazing, willing to put in the work and having so much patience with everything having to do with Cade…. Although he did try to make him jealous a few times lol I mean I guess I understand poor guy had been pining for years

If there’s one thing I know for certain in life it’s that Daisy Jane NEVER misses with her stories. The way I am obsessed with this book, heck, this series needs to be studied. The emotion, the angst, and the freaking spice have me so freaking obsessed! Like Father, Like Son is so freaking good and I’m so sad it’s over. I CAN’T HANDLE IT.
Cade and Noah are both professors at the same college. They both teach English classes. For five years, Noah has been secretly eyeing Cade and he finally has had enough. With one kiss in a supply closet, Cade doesn’t know what to do with these new feelings, but one thing's for certain: he can’t get Noah out of his mind now.
Noah and Cade had me in a chokehold from the very beginning! I’ve been so excited for Cade’s story and now I can officially say, his story is my favorite! Noah is absolutely perfection. He did anything and everything to make Cade comfortable. He did everything to give him time and truly helped Cade through it all. The way Noah YEARNED for Cade had me yearning. The need for each other. The way Noah talked him through it. Noah is just so freaking top-tier. Ughh. Cade had me so emotional and I just wanted to hug him. But when he finally realized how he felt, I was screaming from the rooftops!

I like to read books from a series in order but struggled with books 1 & 2 but I put this down to really struggling to read MF romance.
By contrast, Like Father, Like Son was a revelation. We meet Cade (son of Ford from book 2 if you’ve read it). Cade is an English professor at a university. He’s a ‘buttoned up’ character that insists on following the rules. If somebody in his vicinity doesn’t do things properly, this spikes his anxiety. Cade is sexually inexperienced and has been labelled by his family as asexual. However, he is reluctantly attracted, and drawn, to his office mate, fellow professor Noah Ryan. Noah is nothing like Cade. He’s described as boisterously charming by Cade. As we get to know Noah, we see that much of his persona is a mask. He is very confident is all things except going for what he wants - Cade.
It’s a good story and it did make me cry when Cade was battling with his own mind. Both MCs show growth throughout the story and the side characters are few but significant to the whole. Don’t like Eli, but I’m guessing that’s the whole point.

Cade and Noah were so damn cute! 🥰 I absolutely loved this book!
Cade is so sweet and innocent. He’s never really been interested in relationships and has never met someone who made him want all the romantic things… until he starts noticing Noah. The professor he shares an office with, the man he can’t stop daydreaming about and the only person who’s ever given him butterflies.
Noah, on the other hand, has wanted Cade since the day they met. But knowing how anxious and guarded Cade is, he’s been patient, waiting for Cade to discover his feelings in his own time.
These two together were everything! I loved watching Cade discover new things about himself and slowly realise that he isn’t broken. Seeing him open up, accept that someone could love him, and learn that he could love someone back was so beautiful.
Noah was the ultimate green flag. He was patient, understanding and supportive while still gently encouraging Cade to acknowledge his feelings. He knew exactly when Cade needed space and when he needed a little push and I adored him for it.
This was such a beautiful, heartfelt romance filled with so much love, growth, and plenty of sweet and spicy moments. I enjoyed it so much! 🥰

Gosh where do we start because I really really really enjoyed this one. It was a lovely nice little break from my usual reading, and it was exactly what I needed. I do love to be surprised and I did go in blind reading this.
I absolutely love a slow burn relationship and I love when there is a lot of yearning and pining and this one ticks that to a T, with the relationship building gradually throughout the story and we get the insights of how long they have been looking at each other. I found myself really enjoying the journey rather than rushing to the finish line.
I really liked both of the MMCs. They each brought something different to the story, and I genuinely enjoyed getting to know them as the book progressed. And honestly it felt like we were learning Cade while Cade was learning about himself it was beautiful.
There were a few moments where the timeline between chapters didn’t quite seem to match up, and occasionally it felt like the same conversation or information was repeated. It wasn’t something that took away from my enjoyment of the story, but it was noticeable in some points or at least it confused me slightly.
Overall though I simply thought this was a good read. It was easy to settle into, kept me interested as you fall in love with Cade and Noah, and made for a lovely change.

This is the third book in the family affair series but it’s my very first Daisy Jane book. I had no idea it would be such a slow burn. Noah and Cade are English professors who share an office. Now in my experience as a student I don’t recall any professors sharing office space. Office hours were times for you to discuss your papers and work and you would prefer it to be private. But I guess for this story we had an overflow and had these two men joined together. Cade is quiet, thoughtful, introspective and reserved. Meanwhile Noah is outgoing, friendly, gregarious and flirty. Noah appreciates who Cade is and is willing to work at his pace because he’s been drooling over Noah for almost five years. Cade hasn’t had a lasting relationship and doesn’t appear to be attracted to anyone but does his find his pants get a little tighter while he watches Noah. I wish I had known it was going to be a slow burn, I expected heat and fire quickly and had to push myself to continue reading. I did enjoy the story and these two men who were smart and accomplished. I enjoyed reading about Cade’s sexual discovery and Noah’s encouragement was truly sweet. This will not be my first and last Daisy Jane.
