Being the wife of one of the most respected and feared men in the city comes with an array of perks and Diamond enjoys them all. From designer tags, fast cars and trips to foreign lands, Diamond lives a life that most women only dream of. For Diamond, however, dreaming and wishing is not her forte but when she does, it’s a guarantee that her husband, Leon “Gator” Douglass, will make all of her dreams and wishes come true.

When the good life goes sour and Gator lands himself in prison, Diamond quickly discovers how fast one can go from eating Caviar on Wednesday to Beanie Weenies on Thursday. She is suddenly faced with one of her greatest fears…being broke. Determined to survive on her own, and keep the empire Gator once built, Diamond assumes her rightful place as the leader of “the family”. Soon she finds herself caught up in a whirlwind of illegal dealings that not only make her head spin but make her the target of many.

When friends become enemies and enemies become allies, Diamond learns loyalty could possibly be the most expensive gift her husband ever purchased and one that she may not be able to afford.

Mz. Robinson has painted the literary scene red with her latest work of art. Just when I thought the Love, Lies & Lust series was over, she comes with another story masterpiece told from a different perspective. From start to finish this story was filled with everything a reader loves to read about in a good story. Mz. Robinson ends with quit a few unexpected turns of events. I was wondering what type of woman would be married to Gator, and like Gator, Diamond was something else. When put to the test, she was able to hold her on. Like Gator, Diamond had a few secrets of her own, and would go to any extremes to keep them hidden. I've said it once, and I'll say it again, this series belongs on the big screen!

Great read!!

This book was a great way of connecting the previous books. Giving Diamond and Gator their own story was cool. To see how the affects of other's actions impact the fate of totally unconnected others. Six degrees of separation. The lies that are told in so many instances... All I will say is that I am happy for the heroines involved. It seems everyone's story matters to some extent. Can't wait to read the Finale!!

I really wanted to like this book but towards the end it lost its appeal to me. The beginning was definitely strong and I was very interested in learning about Diamond and Gator. I was particularly drawn to Gator’s story because it was a tad bit deeper than the typical drug dealer stereotype.

But, par to course with this genre, he gets arrested and the woman decides to fill in for him and keep the “business” going. And, then the book goes downhill for me. It was just too much in a short amount of pages. Overall, it was a decent read and I would read other books by Mz. Robinson (but just not this series).

MY RATING: 3.5

DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of Diamond in exchange for an honest review.

I just really don't see the purpose of this series anymore. I'm only giving it 3 stars because the writing was ok. It is really like beating a dead horse at this point. This book really added nothing to the big picture for me. It only foretold what the next book will be about. Of course Gator is going to get out on appeal, go after the Whitemore's again. Z is probably an undercover, and Diamond will end Gator once and fore all. If it happens any differently I'll be surprised. Everyone is dead, so what more is there left to tell. I'm no longer interested in Damon and Octavia, their story has run its course. What else is there left to tell???

Wow! The whole darn Douglas is psycho. Two thumbs up for Z/Lawrence. I anticipate that Gator will get his just due. I mean dude is mentally warped. I can see him coming hard for the Whitmores in the name of "justice" for his deranged sister's death. I see everybody getting in on the action I anticipate to go down in the last installment of this series. I will hold those thoughts to see if they ring true and include them in my review of the next book.

Interesting Story

I enjoyed reading the backstory of Diamond, Gator, and Venetta. There were a few minor errors, but otherwise, the story flowed pretty well. Ready to tackle the final book.

Wasn't really a fan of this book, I love all the books before but this one made me felt like it was a money grabber. It's told her just about everything that happened before
