This is a Hate to Love Romantic Suspense, and this is the seventh book in the Men of Echo Ridge series. I have read the first six books in this series before picking up this book, and I do think you would like this book better if you read the other books in this series before picking up this book. I really enjoyed this series, and I love the characters in this book. This is a fast paced action book with a little bit of romance and steam. I really enjoyed this book a lot, but it took me a minute to get pulled into this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

This is the last installment of a great series. I have struggled to write this review because while I am extremely happy that Tommy found his own HEA after all his other team mates found theirs, I found it a little too tech heavy. I understand the reasoning for it, but at times I found myself struggling to keep interested in it. Don't get me wrong, I love living in this world of technology, but the intricacies of how it works does not hold a lot of interest for me. So it was a struggle to immerse myself in the story at times. BUT, having said that it was a very fast moving story to provided the end to the Committee in a great way. As I said, I loved that Tommy got his HEA with a fellow tech guru who was burned by those she worked for in her previous life. Dar is a person who has isolated herself from everything but her computer screen, not letting anyone in and leading a solitary life. Unbeknownst to her, the solitary life she had lived behind a screen for the last two years, was about to change. Their romance is a very unconventional one - a romance based on learning about each other and using their tech knowledge and unconventional actions to grow that romance (hard to explain). In amongst all the tech talk, the romance is hot and steamy. It is also a story about trust….trust built from a single word COMPROMISED that was sent from one computer to another.

It was hard to decide on what star rating to give this book because while I loved the romance and intrigue of the book that was concluding an amazing series and which I would probably give a 5 star, the tech heavy focus the filled the majority of the pages would only get a 3. So I settled for a 4 star in this case.

And finally, I realize all book series must come to an end, but I am still sad to see this series end. I have loved reading about all the men and women of Echo Ridge.

Dar is former GCHQ, British intelligence, operative. She was burned by the organization when she informed them of a fault, they ignored it and someone died. She has worked on her own for a few years. She learned that the Committee was getting ready to hit the Echo base. She sends them a warning. They ask her to come in and she decides to help them.

Tommy is the person who built the security system for Echo Base. He started with second hand parts and built a system that seemed impenetrable. Dar found a door.

This is story of two computer nerds who keep to themselves and must learn to depend on each other on protect Echo Base.

This is he final episode of a series. It can be read alone but recommend the series.

This was such a fast moving story to read. The Committe is getting closer to Echo Ridges Base. The Committee has been breaking through the codes of Echo Ridges Server. Tommy had built the database and the Server, when Kane, and Stryker built the Home Base on Echo Ridge, it's hidden amongst the mountains and behind the rocks that were made to look real. Dar had been watching the Committee their moving in on Echo Ridge while they encrypted the database to shut them down. Dar warned Tommy and before she new what was happening Sarah from Echo Ridge came and rescued her from The Committee. Tommy and Dar got along really well, working fast and closely together, closer and closer the heat was melting their pants off.

Wow! What an ending: it had intrigue, suspense, old betrayal and a great, slow-burning romance. I am sorry the series has ended, but it was exceptional. All the characters from previous books are there and involved in this gripping finale.
The tension builds, and the story flows well with the tec-talk explaining enough for those, like me, who do not understand technology, to keep up with the action.
All the stories in this series have been great and leading effortlessly to this great ending. You need to read the books in order to appreciate this final story totally.

Tommy has his work cut out 4 him. The committee has gone 2 far. It's bad enough they r constantly killing innocents and going after everyone that's in echo ridge but now they r going after tommy using his own code against him 2 hopefully kill everyone. Dar found things out and sent 1 word 2 tommy warning him of appending problems coming their way really soon. Dar and tommy will work 2gether with all codes 2 do everything possible 2 keep them all safe. Can they? There's alot of layers 2 go through. I don't think they were ever enemies between tommy and dar. That was really good!! I loved it!!

What a fitting end to a fabulous series. I really enjoyed the way that Tommy and Dar’s relationship developed from a purely professional one to one that saw them become a couple. Lots of action, lots of thrills. The Committee is out to take down the Echo team once and for all, they almost seem to be one step ahead until Dar recognises the code being used. A very satisfying story that ties up all the loose ends.

This is a good wrap up to the series; satisfying and well earned ending. I enjoyed the relationship between Tommy and Dar. The plot and characters were well developed and the match up with Dar was perfect for Tommy. The book was a little repetitive at times but overall it was a good story and great ending for the series. I don’t recommend reading as a standalone; it needs to be read after the other books in the series since it wraps up the ongoing storyline.

What a finish to a brilliant series. Echo Ridge was full of ex soldiers who were fighting a company called “The Committee”. This was the final book centring on Tommy & Dar, two computer experts who got together because Dar sent a message to Tommy buried under tons of encryption messaging telling him EchoRidge was compromised. Together they fought to stop The Committee hacking into their system and bringing their entire operation down. Ever book was a brilliant read, the final book was epic. Thank you Delta, you rock

The series is coming to an end and it is great to see Tommy get his happy ending with Dar. They are so perfect for each other and they are slowly recognizing it as a truth. It’s well written and very entertaining with lots of action. The enemy who has threatened them throughout the series has been dismantled and effectively destroyed. It’s a great ending to a suspense packed series.

Tommy and Dar's story is the seventh and final book in the Men of Echo Ridge series. As both of the MCs are tech geniuses, used to working under pressure and with little oversight, there is quite a bit of technical jargon but that does not subtract anything from the enemies to lovers tensions. Forced proximity, cyber intrigue, found family tropes add to the dynamic that ties up the series nicely.

This is a finale if there ever was one!
The Men of Echo Ridge series is absolutely amazing to begin with but this book finished it off amazingly.

The system Tommy created has broken into by Dar.
Question is, is she trustworthy or another person being used by the Committee?

The story line exciting and keeps you wanting more.
If you haven’t read the books in this series, you really should.

Not real sure what to say. Very intense, different style of romance (Loved it), unique and very satisfying. The storyline is so detailed and made me pay real close attention. Now the ending was not what I expected. It was really good, do not get me wrong. It just surprised me. The perfect ending to a great series.

The war is over.
Dar and Tommy's story brings this entire series to a close, and what an unforgettable journey it was, Dar has lived much of her life guided by a code a past betrayal made her more cautious, leading her to build walls that kept her protected from the world. The pain of loss left wounds that still linger but it also made her a stronger woman, now a decision and a simple message take her back to the battlefield she chose to act, found a way to infiltrate Tommy's code and from that moment on, there was no turning back.
Tommy is the man who has held Echo Base together for years he built everything from the ground up and fought for the people he considers his family, he also keeps a part of himself hidden, but he never imagined that someone would find a way to breach his defenses. Thanks to Dar, he discovered that the Committee was much closer than he expected the threat now lay at the very heart of everything he had created and protected for so long, the Committee sought to seize the system he designed to keep everyone safe and working alongside Dar would completely change the course of history.
Dar and Tommy have too much in common both are coding experts and possess a unique way of seeing and solving problems the tension between them was palpable from the start and their chemistry was spectacular. Dar knew she couldn't afford any distractions she had come to Echo because she discovered a vulnerability in the system and because she knew the danger posed by the weapon the Committee was developing, however she also couldn't ignore what Tommy awakened in her, for the first time in a long time she felt the urge to trust someone and open her heart.
For his part, Tommy never expected Dar's arrival to turn his world upside down, both literally and emotionally, he too maintained certain barriers around his heart but a part of him recognized from the beginning that she was different. Dar became his equal, his partner, his companion and the only woman capable of seeing beyond the image he presented to the world, she managed to uncover the part of him that remained hidden from everyone else.
While trying to manage the growing attraction and the feelings that were beginning to surface, they also had to face enormous professional challenges, they clashed on several occasions due to their different approaches but together they grew stronger. Their connection was undeniable, they discovered that if they combined their minds and abilities, they could defeat the Committee once and for all and so they did, working side by side, alongside the rest of the team, they achieved what seemed impossible.
Dar found in Tommy much more than a partner she found a man she could lean on, someone who saw beyond the barriers she had built around herself thanks to him, she allowed herself to trust, to break down her walls and to accept that she too deserved a family. Tommy for his part found in Dar his equal from the moment he met her, he knew his life would never be the same she allowed him to see all his facets, even those he kept hidden he made her his partner, his companion and the only woman who ever captured his heart.
Tommy fell for her from the very first moment he tried to fight what he felt, but in the end, neither of them could deny what their hearts already knew their story was beautiful, full of growth, trust and love. When it was all over, the Committee was finally destroyed and the long war that had marked everyone's lives came to an end.
Each of the couples in this universe fought with blood, sweat, tears, and wounds inflicted by a single enemy, they all had to overcome countless difficulties to reach this moment. They moved every piece on the board in search of victory, supported each other and grew together, over time they ceased to be simply a team and became a true family, united not by blood but by choice.
Dar and Tommy's story was the one that brought this world to a close and it did so in an extraordinary way, my heart felt it from the first page to the last I didn't want to reach the end because it meant saying goodbye to them all but I also understood that this was the closure they deserved. Each character got their moment, their peace and the opportunity to move on after so many sacrifices.
Now they can enjoy the peace they fought so hard for. The constant threat that haunted their lives for years is gone. All their efforts, plans and sacrifices have finally paid off.

Echo:Code is the last story of the wonderful series called Men of Echo Ridge,and it’s Tommy’s.
He is Echo Ridge’s system administrator and guides the team through their missions from behind his screens.
And he keeps the base safe from the enemy with his security system.
Until the day he gets a message through a door in a channel that he thought couldn’t be breached…..
The fact that it was a “knock” on that door rather than an invasion isn’t reassuring.
Finding the one responsible becomes a priority,and once identified and their background researched, that person is brought to the base to make sure they’re not a threat to his team,his family.

Dar built her life after GCHQ around a single principle: operate alone, stay uninvolved, and never trust a system with the power to decide what happens to her.
The principle held for years. It held through the months of mapping the Committee's digital infrastructure, through the long nights of cracking their encryption and tracing their proxy chains and dismantling their operations one layer at a time.
It held because the work was hers and Dar was the only person who could get hurt by her decisions.
Until she found a weapon aimed at a hidden base full of people she’d never met, and the principle failed a stress test it wasn't designed to survive.

Tommy gets the task of working with Dar,to determine the level of danger she poses.
But instead of feeling threatened by her,he found himself intrigued by the rainbow haired analist.
And it doesn’t stop there…..he started to adjust things around her to make her feel comfortable as they work together,because somehow it mattered to him.
He started to look forward to their time working together,and found himself thinking of her when they weren’t.
Dar made it clear she’d help him,but needed the reassurance she would be allowed to leave.
Only,the longer she knew Tommy,the more she found herself intrigued by him.
Hiding behind the glasses and the humor,she saw another man….one she found herself wanting to know more of.
She found herself looking forward to their time working together,and he invaded her mind when they weren’t.

Somehow,they became two halves making a team that adapted against threats seamlessly.
And they all needed that team…..because the Comitee was attacking Tommy’s system with the goal of destroying it.
And they’d obviously been studying how his system worked……
Even though Dar was new to Echo Ridge,and even though she worried they’d do the same thing GCHQ had done,she didn’t want to see them brought down by the Comitee.
So,she did her stinking best to make sure that wouldn’t happen,and Tommy was grateful to have her by his side.
Together they stood a chance,and they weren’t going to waste it!

I loved this series,this team that became a family while fighting an organisation determined to destroy them.
Seeing them find a second chance at the happy after they deserved during that fight made me feel so good.
And i was happy to see that Tommy found his other half during the final battle that meant the end of the Comitee.
To see how he connected with Dar,their unique love language,was wonderful.
The way they opened up to eachother,and showed their vulnerabilities.
Echo:Code was the perfect end to this wonderful series!

This was a great end to the series. I was always anticipating Tommy's book and I loved it. His character was very funny at times Tommy's inner dialogue during sex is hilarious!

"My brain, because it's my brain and it never fully
shuts up, supplies the observation that I am going down
on Dar in a server room surrounded by the infrastructure I built over years of work, and that this is
either the most on-brand thing I've ever done or a sign that I need therapy. Probably both"

"Somewhere in the back of my mind, the part of me that's always running commentary, the part that keeps the team laughing and the tension manageable, offers the observation that this is the first time Tommy has ever needed a loading screen. I almost laugh. "

Dar was more serious, more independent. She was slow to trust. She was brilliant at what she did. She was a hard nut to crack, but she had her moments.

"I know Tommy's actual coding patterns well enough to identify every deviation." "Anyone who's spent real time inside his code would see the difference. Marsh studied the surface. He didn't understand the depth." The sentence comes out carrying more weight than operational analysis should, and I hear it a beat too late. Spent real time inside his code. The double meaning lands in the room like a dropped glass"

I've never read a book that most of the steamy scenes are in computer code. I didn't know using computer terms to describe how they feel and what they were doing could be so entertaining.

The final battle in the mountain from the attack on Tommy's infrastructure was intense! That scene will have your adrenaline pumping. It's awesome descriptive action scene.

Ok, now a little criticism

The final showdown where they took down the main villain was sorta anti-climatic. I wish there would of been a little more action/fighting with the end game. Got some scenes and reaction to the main villain when he was captured. Show POV's of the other characters during the take down. It was Tommy and Dar's book, but it was also the last book in the series and it would of been nice to have all the MC's from the series to get their own little end part. there was a POV of Marsh (the person that did the big attack on the mountain, it would of been nice to have a scene or two of his reaction to them defeating what he thought was fool proof

Overall I enjoyed the book, and would definingly suggest it to others.

I absolutely loved the dynamic between Dar and Tommy in Echo: Code. There is something incredibly fun about watching two brilliant minds collide, especially when neither one is willing to back down.

From the very beginning, the chemistry between them jumps off the page. Dar is confident, intelligent, and more than capable of holding her own, while Tommy is used to being the smartest person in the room until she comes along and turns his world upside down. Their constant push and pull creates the perfect enemies-to-lovers tension, and every interaction feels charged with equal parts frustration, attraction, and respect.

What really stood out to me was how different this story felt from a traditional military romantic suspense. The cyber warfare and technology elements added a fresh layer to the danger and suspense. The stakes felt very real, and the threat lurking behind the scenes kept the tension high throughout the entire story. Delta James does a wonderful job balancing the action with the romance, allowing both aspects of the story to shine.

I especially enjoyed seeing how Tommy's carefully controlled world begins to unravel the more time he spends with Dar. Watching those walls come down while Dar slowly lets someone into her own guarded heart made their relationship feel authentic and rewarding. The forced proximity only intensified everything, creating plenty of sparks along the way.

Beyond the romance, I loved the sense of teamwork, loyalty, and found family that runs throughout the Men of Echo Ridge series. These characters always have each other's backs, and that camaraderie adds so much depth to the story.

If you enjoy enemies-to-lovers romance, brilliant hacker heroines, tech genius heroes, forced proximity, high-stakes suspense, and plenty of tension mixed with heart, Echo: Code is a fantastic addition to the series and another engaging visit to the world of Echo Ridge.

This book is heavy and, at times, incredibly confusing. Maybe I'm just not smart enough for it—though I do have a degree in Computer Science, so take that as you will.

The premise initially sounded promising. Tommy is the team's resident hacker and IT specialist, while Dar is a mysterious outsider who essentially "knocks" on Tommy's system rather than breaking in. Given the sensitive nature of their mission, Tommy and the rest of the team immediately reach out to her. Dar claims she wants to help them fight their shared enemy, but despite her polite introduction, the team remains understandably wary of her.

One thing that can't be questioned is Dar's intelligence. She's every bit as brilliant as Tommy, perhaps even more so. As they spend more time together, Tommy quickly finds himself drawn to her and eventually develops deeper feelings. Dar, however, has always worked alone and is reluctant to let anyone get too close.

My biggest issue with this book is that it often feels inaccessible if you're simply looking for an enjoyable escape. The writing leans heavily into technical concepts and philosophical discussions, which can make the story difficult to follow at times. And yes, I admit I'm probably biased. First, I actually know how to code. Second, English isn't my first language.

A lot of the technical language felt unnecessarily elaborate—as if the book was trying very hard to sound intelligent and sophisticated. Instead of enhancing the story, it sometimes came across as romanticizing coding and technology to an almost absurd degree. There were moments when I found myself thinking, "Okay, I get it. We don't need to turn every line of code into poetry."

Overall, I can appreciate the ambition behind the story and the intellectual themes it explores. However, for me, the execution often felt overly complicated, making it difficult to stay fully engaged with either the romance or the plot.

What a fantastic end to a series, all threads neatly tied up. This book could possibly be read as a standalone, but I would seriously urge reading the series in sequence to understand the stories behind the wonderful men and women of Echo Ridge.

One word lit his screen "compromised", someone had breached his system, someone had found a door.

Echo Ridge was a community of ex military personnel ready to keep the country safe, it was a hidden community, built into a mountain that so far no one had breached, the powerful "Committee" were determined to bring Kane and his team down, so far without success, Kane was equally determined to rid the world of the evil Committee.

Tommy Hale had built the high tech computerised system that kept Echo Ridge safe but somehow, someone with knowledge equal to his, if not more so, had found a door, it would only be a matter of time before the Committee's highly trained team find the same door.

Brit, Dar Atterly had sent a warning to the men hidden in the mountain, she had worked alone since being made the innocent scapegoat for a combined GCHQ and MI6 operation had gone wrong, an operation that she had warned them about, an operation where her partner died.

Dar was escorted to Echo Ridge by Victoria Cross, Victoria had her own axe to grind with the Committee.

As this story unfolds the tension rises, Dar works with Tommy, they code in tandem, they communicate in code, they are drawn to one another like moths to a light as they fight to keep Echo Ridge and it's wonderful inhabitants, safe.

I have love all this series, I can't begin to understand all the technical data which is very impressive, but it doesn't matter, I don't need to.

Amidst all the worry, the self doubt, the fast action, the blossoming love story between the two computer geeks is electrifying, Delta James has written a series of love stories about all the magnificent men of Echo Ridge and their equally wonderful partners.

Echo: Code is the final book in this series that I have thoroughly enjoyed every book
Tommy is Echo Ridge’s system administrator he is the man that guides his men through their missions from behind his multitude of screens. He also monitors the safety of the base from any possible enemy’s using his wealth of screens. The one day his system is breached with the message “Knock, Knock” and now he is trying to discover who is behind the invasion.
Dar has been brought onto the base to help with the breech to security she has rebuilt her life since GCHQ around one rule she sticks to religiously and that is to work alone. Working with Dar until she discovered how deep this corruption actually went and the fact that she believes that in fact the base may be under threat from unseen factors.
The longer that Dar is working with Tommy and she sees his dedication to his team, each individual that he considers family and even those he does not know that ell are all important to him and he is so determined that he is going to solve this ongoing threat with the continued help of Dar.
Even though Dar and Tommy have been working solidly on this system they have now discovered so much and she is determined that she will not allow this team of hard-working individuals that put themself and their lives on the line as they fight fires. I have to say that this was a simply wonderful read, the characters and plot is so wonderfully written and I guarantee that readers will be as blown away by this book as I have been.
I look forward to future books by this simply wonderful author and am sure that othere readers will be as blown away by this book as I have been.

I believe that this is the final story for the Men of Echo Ridge. I will miss the men and women who held out and fought against Webb and The Committee. Tommy Hale has been in charge of the computers at Echo Base, mostly staying behind the scenes as he oversees the various team missions. A one-word warning “Compromised” ratchets up the threat level when It’s displayed on his computer screen. Before he can alert the rest of the team, a young, female computer expert arrives at Echo Base. Computer expert Dar Atterly, the one who sent the one-word warning to him, mentions that she had noticed an issue within Tommy’s system. They both work to discover if the Committee has been able to compromise their computers. They soon bond over computer code as they try to ensure the safety of the system that is responsible for not only the interior of the base, but the exterior. They soon face a possible breach by someone who Tommy had worked with at GCHQ, Britain’s signals intelligence agency. During the long hours spent at their computers, a slow attraction leads to her sharing his room. When a shut-down of the system occurs, one of them must leave the safety of the base to restart the back-up system. Will this work, as there is the possibility of physical injury, to Tommy, if it fails. There were not as many physical threats for the team, but definitely mental stress for Tommy and Dar to keep the base, and the team, protected. Well, this is a great ending to a brilliant series!
The made family of Echo Mountain had their final fight with the help of Tommy, their IT guy who had to make some space in his world for a rainbow hair coloured slip of a girl who knew his code back to front and inside out!
She decided hiding was not what she wanted to do anymore and sent one word to Tommy in Echo Mountain.....Compromised!
Dar, of course was hunted down by Victoria and brought back to Echo Mountain to see if she was an asset or a threat.
I loved this story and was so pleased to see that Tommy finally found his "one". A woman who knew code and spoke the same language as he did.
He took his time reading her and adjusting to another person in his work space. And he decided Dar was definitely an asset as she helped him try to find and destroy The Committee's attempts at a cyber security breach.
A fast paced story as both Tommy and Dar seek and find the enemy.
Do they prevent The Committee from destroying Tommy's life work?
How does Echo Mountain survive the cyber attack?
All valid questions as Kane and Willa, Stryker and Rachel, Mercer and Delaney, Micah and Sarah, Dylan and Reagan, Roman and Victoria are still deciding if Dar can be trusted. Tommy had already decided a long time ago!

Tommy has always been in the background. His systems and intelligence are undisputed but somewhat overlooked because he’s NOT the one breaking down doors. This book was very intelligent (maybe more than I am - I’m not really a code reader) but as much as code was the language, the underlying vehicle is the connection between Dar and Tommy. It’s very exciting to meet someone as smart as you are, who truly understands how you think and who values you and your work and honestly is striving to make the work better. Undeniably, the pressure is on to make sure the Committee isn’t able to destroy Echo Base, but the human factor, both physical and electronic, is where Dar and Tommy find their strength. Dar and Tommy are both so self-contained that their growing connection is through openings and responses so small or subtle, the people around them don’t notice, but to them the connection is life changing. A really good ending to the series.
