so I was literally so into this book that I kept checking the reading percentage because it felt like it could keep going forever. Even at 80% I was convinced we weren't even halfway through the plot. Then BAM an extremely speedy wrap up at the end. It really should have had more pages or been a duet, because once you read it you'll get why it felt so stilted.
Rowans our FMC is an absolute queen. she's resilient and the best mum. I loved her sarcastic comments and her internal monologue was sending me:’). She's a vet who gets turned (when she doesnt wanna) and then pursued by a possessive alpha which is super not chill. After 2 years of surviving that nightmare a council pulls her out and takes her to Wolvern Academy, a place for wolves and things she doesn't understand, including her own wolf gift.
then there are the mates. 4 of them. All dangerous, powerful and completely off limits alphas. The spice was great and if you love a spicy werewolf rh, this is for you.
The kids were also adorable and so well adjusted and I loved how all the mmcs were so great with them.
But here's the tea and why it's not a 5 star for me. Some things just made no sense and felt like major plot holes. Like, what happened to her first husband's bod? Was he just left there to rot? If turning humans without wanting to is illegal why was her old alpha not punished at all? Anddd what happened to her old house and vet clinic? It was just kind of abandoned. These little things really bugged me.
All in all it's a great read even with the rushed ending. I still need Caleb's story and I'm really hoping we find out what's up with Lila and her 5 boys.

Couldn't put it down.
Loved it. I was so into the book that I kept checking reading percent because it felt like the book could keep going which it really could have. Rowan's character was strong resilient and the best mom and partner. She never gives up and sacrifices everything for her children. The children themselves have wonderful personalities, and are well adjusted despite what they have been through. The MMC's all wonderful all so great with the kids. I can't wait for Caleb's story and I really hope we get to find out about Lila and her 5 boys.😉

1. What happened to Daniels body? Why was there no ambulance no funeral, was his body just left in bed to rot?
2. If killing humans, and turning them without consent is illegal why wasn't Trent and/or his pack punished in any way?
3. What because of her old house and the clinic, options for the clinic are mentioned but it seems it was just abandoned...?
All in all its a great read even with the whiplash ending. Rose Ashwood if you read this, take that into consideration for your next book, add the extra pages so the ending doesn't feel so stilted.

ARC Review:
A Claimed By Four is a novel that has some interesting elements. I was caught off guard by the event that occurred in the first few chapters. The brutal, fast action and the moment when everything changed. In reality, life can get messy and change one’s life forever. I also really enjoyed having an inner wolf for each character. It felt like an original idea which I think enhanced the narrative. Another point I like is that the author has used an older protagonist (a 30-year-old) with children, while most writers use ones in their twenties which made me relate more to Rowan. Although the end was predictable, but it was heartfelt and emotional.
Some of the things that drew me back were the formatting. There are so many lines that only have one or two words. It might work for emotional development and emphasis but for me, I like long paragraphs with more description. Furthermore, there is some repetition in the information of the academy, for instance, the Gift classifications were repeated in two different places, which slowed the pacing of the story and added no new information. Also, some of the feelings were repeated, which also slowed the pacing of events. Moreover, the two-years gap feels so sudden and not very well explained. We don’t truly know what happened during that time.
All in all, I enjoyed reading this novel and I think the author did a good job presenting a compelling story of werewolves, bonds, love, and family.

In order to save her children, she is forced to follow the shifter that killed her husband until her mates arrive and take them to a place where they will learn what it means to be a shifter, what their new responsibilities entail, how to live in a real pack, and above all, how to be a family once again. She learns what true strength is, and that a mother will indeed do anything to protect her children. Especially a newly changed shifter mother.
Ms. Ashwood use of imagery, the way she focuses on describing emotions, put readers at the heart of the story. They will eagerly stay up as they devour Claimed By Four as fast as they possibly can, then sulk as they are forced to wait for Caleb, book two in the Wolvern Academy Universe.

This was a really great idea for this story. Rowan being turned against her will. Taken, and then rescued by Oriole why take her to the Wolvern academy. But she has no idea what it means to be a wolf. She’s clueless, and I thought that was cute. Learning how to be a werewolf was great. Her for alphas that leave her even more uncomfortable…
This was a good story, I loved that it felt like it could go on. I’m all for a thick book. But then it wrapped up suddenly and left me wanting… I really hope this author takes heed to the reviews and decides to write another to wrap this up more fully. And also sink some depth in there. This felt a little surface level. But overall, I enjoyed it.

Good story, needs an editor
The story pulled me in, however, it desperately needs an editor. A lot of the story is very surface level, and if depth and correct words/spellings were added this would easily be a 5 star read. Right now, it's truly a 3 star, but I bumped it up because I liked the story

I go back and forth between a 3.5 and a 4. I liked the story overall. There were bits I felt were rushed and I wish we got to know more about her mates. We get like no real history on them. That being said I loved how strong the FMC was. She was a fighter. She was a survivor. She over came it and found her happily ever after with her kids that they all deserved. They had been through enough.
