Jerusha does it again. Trapped was suspenseful and nail-biter. I love anything Jerusha writes. This is a part of a new series: Security League Book 2. I can’t wait for the next ones in the series. This will be another great one to re-read.

Jerusha Agen’s writing is always great, and “Trapped” is no exception. She has the ability to handle tough subjects with delicacy and weave faith throughout the story. The characters are beautifully portrayed, showing that despite their pasts, they are not defined by them. The book highlights their journey to realizing that even though what they went through was horrific, they still can actually help others. I loved the main characters from the beginning. If there’s one thing I’d change, not necessarily change, more like add to it, would be to extend the story or include an epilogue to know a little bit more of what lies ahead for the characters. I hope you enjoy this read as much as I did!

Suspense? Absolutely! This book is filled with it and more! I literally couldn’t put it down until I’d read the very last page. I wouldn’t have been able to sleep without knowing how it ends.

Jerusha Agen handles a difficult topic without graphic details, while also providing a tension-filled atmosphere of fear, what could have been, and a lost love. It is wonderfully wrapped up with God’s saving grace and His forgiveness.

Excellently written with characters that seem so realistic, you’ll find yourself drawn into their story, and leave you wanting more.

Jerusha Agen has done it again with Trapped. It's a story that had me immersed from the beginning. I got to know the characters as their layers were revealed, and the story became even more exciting. Terrifying moments had me on the edge of my seat as the characters were put in some tight situations.

The subject matter had me on an emotional roller coaster, as I rooted for Kristen and Rosa. The ending wrapped up everything nicely with a great Christian message.

I received a complimentary ARC from the author; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.

Thank you, Jerusha for allowing me to participate on this launch team.  This story hit my heart in different ways. I loved it.

Trapped by Jerusha Agen

Natasha Bowen had the chance to be with a man who would have loved & cherished her. But instead of making the choices that would have kept her on that path, she chose the bad boy. That decision would keep her trapped in a life of abuse for too long.
When she finally made her move to escape, she took Maria with her. Maria had stolen her heart and she was determined to protect her from the life she had to endure. She raised Maria as her adopted daughter and had finally found true love. Two years later Natasha now known as Kristen Grant and Maria now known as Rosa, were settled in the town that an old friend used to describe as "perfect". And it was...until the day reality broke in.
Kristen was the owner of a boutique store, while at work, with customers there a man burst through the door and asked for her money while pointing a rifle at her. She told everyone to get down and reached for her weapon. She recognized him from the life she escaped...or thought she had.
Then he walked in. The old friend from childhood. She did not know he was back in town, his hometown. He could not believe he was looking at Natasha who was going by a different name. That immediately made the cop in him curious.  What was she doing here and why the name change?  Sean Kingston walked into the shop to see if he could help but the suspect was gone. Former cop, Sean now works for a security team.
This is a beautiful story of finding grace and Mercy while still being Trapped by current and past circumstances.

I discovered Jerusha Agen's books a couple of years ago, starting by reading the last couple of books in her Guardians Unleashed series. Let me just say, I was hooked. I'm loving this new Security League series of hers. I think this newest book, Trapped, is my favorite so far.. More awesome suspense, a powerful faith thread, and blossoming romance. Plus she is tackling a serious subject, sex trafficking. Don't worry, there is nothing explicit or too intense.

Kristen has escaped from a life of prostitution, bringing with her a teenage girl named Rosalia who she has taken in as her adopted daughter. Though they had been moving from place to place for a while to keep from getting captured, they are now living in Leben Falls, Iowa, a safe, small rural town where she'd hoped to stay under the radar. However, that safety is shattered during an armed robbery at her store, and she fears her secrets are going to be exposed, especially after her childhood friend shows up at the scene.

Sean Kingston had recently arrived in Leben Falls to help his grandparents. He has a background in law enforcement, though is now a part of a private security firm. This firm is the Security League which connects the books in this series. After realizing the danger that Kristen, who he knew as Natasha, and her daughter are in, Sean takes it upon himself to help protect them.

The danger keeps coming at them, keeping the suspense high. Will Sean be able to help keep his old friend and her daughter safe? Will Kristen's true past be revealed? This is something that is really disturbing her, because there is more than one secret she is hiding, and the truth coming out could destroy their lives.

I loved that Sean shares his faith with Kristen/Nat, though she is not open to hearing about it for a majority of the book, because she doesn't see how someone who has sinned as bad as she has can ever be forgiven. I also love that Rosalia has friends who share Jesus with her. And though Sean is a Christian, he also has some issues he is working through when it comes to bitterness and unforgiveness.

I also love that we get quick glimpses at the characters from the previous books in the series. Though, I admit, I would have loved it even more if they played a bigger role. I do wonder if a certain new character will be the main character in the next book of the series. If there is another book. There will be, right? Please.

All in all, this is an awesome suspense book that grabbed my attention from the first line and just wouldn't let go. Just how I love my romantic suspense books. Highly recommended.

I received an e-copy of this book as a member of the launch team and was not required to write a favorable review. These are my own honest thoughts.

Another great book by Jerusha Agen! She is an automatic read for me always and she did not disappoint with this one. This was just the right amount suspense and romance which hit me right in the heart. Also her books also have faith woven through which always picks me right up! This story does deal with some hard subjects She explores, the trafficking and its horrible aftermath with honesty and it never felt exploitative in any way. After years of abuse Kristen was willing to do almost anything to break herself and Rosa free even kill. Now they are free and living in Leben Falls. They are living with secrets but Kristen is determined to give Rosa a childhood free of anymore heartache. They are living a quiet life until one day someone enters the store and stats shooting. You will meet Sean Kingston along the way as he is someone from Kristens childhood. While Sean is very determined to get his grandparents land back he is desperately trying to get Kristen to trust him with her secrets. While Kristen trusts no one except Rosa she tries so very hard to protect her. While the danger keeps coming Sean tries very hard to make Kristen see the God forgives and has already sent his only son to earth and has died for all of our sins. This one is definitely a 5 star read! Don't miss it!!! I want to thank this author for an early copy of Trapped. The opinions are my own.

Trapped by Jerusha Agen delivered exactly the kind of edge-of-your-seat thriller I was hoping for, while also hitting me right in the heart in ways I didn't expect. Jerusha has never shied away from hard subjects, and this story is no exception — the way trafficking and its devastating aftermath are woven into Kristen's story feels honest and unflinching without ever feeling exploitative. Watching Kristen navigate the weight of her past while fiercely protecting Rosalia made her such a compelling and deeply human character, and my heart absolutely broke for her belief that she was somehow damaged beyond deserving love or belonging. Sean's ability to see her for who she truly was — not the circumstances she was forced into — was a beautiful counterpoint to that pain. The road to healing is long, but Kristen is every bit a fighter and a protector, and I found myself rooting for her freedom with everything I had. A powerful, realistic, and deeply satisfying read!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Do you enjoy reading books about tough subjects, like human trafficking? Then this book is for you. The story revolves around two individuals who have broken free from their abductors and have been living a safe and decent life. That is until the day someone shows up and starts shooting. Sean Kingston has just come back into town to help his grandparents when he hears gunshots. When he runs into the store to help, he sees his childhood friend. Kristen has tried to forget her past and put it behind her, even going to the length of changing her name. Now what will she do with the bad men coming after her and her adopted daughter? " She had killed for Rosa, for their freedom, once before. If she had to, she would kill again." Doesn't that statement send chills up and down your arms? I am enjoying reading this series and looking forward to more from this author. I received a complimentary copy of this book, but was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are what I thought of this book.

After six years of daily abuse, was she prepared to fight to the death to be free?

An incredible story of survival in spite of everything, a place where secrets don’t tend to survive but where forgiveness is freely available. However, learning to forgive herself for her poor choices and allowing someone to love her in spite of her past? Was it even possible for her to learn that God can and will forgive anything, making her a new creation? She could know the truth and the truth would set her free, if she was willing to accept God’s free gift.

I found myself holding my breath at times, as the danger mounted and trust still had a long way to go. Would she be able to confront her past and learn to trust those who had come to care about her? This second book in the Security League was received through SDG Words, LLC and BookFunnel. These thoughts are my own and were in no way solicited.

Trapped: A Christian Romantic Suspense (Security League Book 2) by Jerusha Agen is a beautiful story of sacrifice, love, forgiveness, and redemption. While it shows the enduring strength of the human heart, it also show the need for the empowering that only God can give to face and survive the worst this world throws at one. Which is exactly what has happened to Kristen Grant. Throughout this story is strong Christian values, beliefs and the Scriptures. Kristen is not the only one who needs to completely turn to God, I was surprised but also inspired in how God worked in security specialist Sean Kingston’s life.

I have read another book by Jerusha Agen so I knew before I started the book that she would not sugar-coat anything that happens in this world. This is an authentic look at life in a flawed world but also of God’s grace, goodness, forgiveness, wisdom and present help each day in a Christian’s life. I highly recommend Trapped: A Christian Romantic Suspense.

"It's possible this man targeted your store and your house because you were in them. He could have come to Leben Falls for you. Because you are here."

Kristen Grant is certain that her past has indeed come calling, but the longer she can avoid scrutiny and deflect the seriousness of her situation, the longer she can keep her daughter safe. She doesn't have time to be terrified or to second guess her decisions . . . . . yet.

Security specialist Sean Kingston is shocked when he literally comes face to face with an all grown up version of a childhood friend, and she's in trouble. Kristen is also tense, evasive, and tight-lipped about the danger that has sparked inquiry from local law enforcement. Sean wants to help keep Kristen safe, but will she let him?

An amazing short story that has the depth of a much longer one. Heart-breaking in so many ways, but the love of Jesus proves once again that God can heal the broken-hearted and set the captives free.

Author Jerusha Agen, really brought out a range of emotions within me as I read Trapped. This very well-written Christian Romantic Suspense book broke my heart, in several different ways, as I followed the tales of Rosalia (Rosa) and Nat. My heart broke for both of them throughout the story. As they strived to live normal, everyday lives, their haunted, horrible past was coming for them. I loved that there were people in town, especially Sean Kingston, amongst others, who seemed to have a heart of love to to share the love of Jesus to two lost souls. As the story's end neared, I realized that people were offering to be the arms and feet of Jesus while offering acceptance and love. This book showed me that God's love can overcome it all. I give this book 5 stars out of 5 out for the truth it sets free.

Fans of inspirational romantic suspense will surely enjoy this riveting story "Trapped".
Trapped - Author Jerusha Agen handles a difficult topic well in this page-turning story about starting a new life and escaping a past life full of trauma. "Kristen Grant will do anything to protect her adopted teen daughter from the dangers of their past." She has changed more than her name as her childhood best friend Security specialist Sean Kingston discovers. He's always liked her, and never expected to see her in the small town of Leben Falls, where he spent his summers with his grandparents. Kristen has changed, he wants to help her, but she has secrets she's too ashamed to share. I could not put it down!! Jerusha Agen pens another unputdownable story!

I originally read this as part of "Truth: A Christian Romantic Suspense Anthology".

Trapped is the thrilling and emotional story of Natasha, aka Kristen, who was sold by her "boyfriend" and after several years, escaped sex trafficking with a young teenage girl. She has changed their identities and is living in a small town. Author Jerusha Agen deals with the horror of the experience without being at all graphic. Sean Kingston, a childhood friend of Natasha's, has just moved to the same small town. He's a committed Christian, and I love the way that he shares his faith with her. The story is filled with action and suspense. It's an unputdownable book!
I highly recommend this to readers of romantic suspense. I definitely want to read more from this author and more of the Security League series.

Natasha Bowen takes refuge in Leben’s Crossing, thinking that she will surely be safe from her chaotic past in this small, out-of-the-way town. She has changed her name to Kristen and is moving on from her traumatic life along with her adopted daughter Rosalia. But Natalia’s dark secrets are about to catch up with her as one hit man after another is attempting to kill her. She knows who is after her but she can’t share her knowledge with law enforcement because of her fear of what will happen if she does. She really doesn’t want her friends in the small town to know about her past. Nor can she be honest with Sean, her best friend in high school who is an investigator determined to protect her from the unknown assassins. The attraction between Sean and Nat sizzle even though he has no idea of what she is hiding from and why. The characters were relatable and the story is compelling and intriguing. With the relevant topics of human trafficking and land grabs, this novella includes the themes of redemption, forgiveness and hope. Faith is a firm foundation in this story and helps bring it to a satisfying conclusion, with some surprises along the way.

Wow! Just Wow! Jerusha does it again. This story of brokenness and redemption is so incredibly inspiring and amazing! Jerusha does an amazing job of showing the love and mercy that Jesus has for us no matter what we have done and He is so ready to forgive us when we ask Him. Nat and Rosa are such sweet characters just trying to live a life free of evil. The way that Nat mothers Rosa and tries her best to show her how much she is loved is so incredible. And then in walks Sean, her friend from her childhood trying to keep them both safe. This is a great story with great characters and it is so worth the read!

This book took my breath away, and my heart with it! This book is full of heart pounding, non stop action and suspense, real love that’s willing to do whatever it takes, found family, and faith that is willing to face hard things! This book deals with some hard topics like human trafficking but not in a way that is graphic or sensationalized, just the dark, gritty truth. And amazing characters who show that there is hope for anyone, no matter what you’ve gone through. I loved this book and I highly recommend it! I read it in the anthology Truth first, but also read an advanced copy of just this story from the author. All thoughts and opinions in this review are honest and my own.

Blessed beyond . . .

Some stories you read and they are awesome, but some stories you read and they touch your heart and linger long after you've finished! Trapped is one of those heart-touching stories!

So many times, life happens and we feel unworthy of receiving God's grace; this is the exact challenge Natasha is confronted with.
Can Sean forgive her for her past? Can she trust Sean? Can God forgive her and even love her, in spite of it all? Can God give her a future, cleansed, redeemed, filled with freedom and love?

Jerusha Agen, I am in awe; this definitely blessed me beyond words!

Natalie Bowen changed her name and identity to protect herself and her daughter from a human trafficking/prostitution ring that wanted her back. Sean Kingston returned to Leban Falls, Iowa to help his grandparents, not knowing that Natalie was living there under a new identity. His first day there and the attacks on Natalie start. The people after her will stop at nothing until they have her and her daughter and Sean will do everything in his power to stop that from happening. The action starts at the very beginning of the book and doesn't stop until the end. I would say the theme of this story is redemption.

Another exciting story by Jerusha Agen. This one tackles the tough subject of sex trafficking. Kristen and Rosa escaped their captors to start a new life. Sean is a former cop who has come home to help his grandparents get their farm back. When he finds the girl he had a crush on in high school is back he renews their friendship. When the traffickers come to town to tie up loose ends can Kristen escape again? Can Sean get there in time to help?
All of this action and a message of God's forgiveness and love makes for a perfect Christian thriller. A five * read!

From the beginning of this book, I was invested in Kristen’s and Rosa’s story. I wanted justice and safety for them, especially after all they had been through. I couldn’t put it down, and there were several twists that I didn’t see coming. The salvation scene was superbly written, and I was grateful for the author’s willingness to include it in the story. I highly recommend this book, and I am looking forward to reading more from the author.

This is book#2 in the Security League series but can be read as a standalone book.

Talk about suspense, lots of it all the way through. A tough subject to talk and read about but was well written. And it doesn't matter if you went through something unthinkable you can still help others going through the same thing or something similar.
Learning that God can forgive you no matter what your past is like and it's a story of second chances.

I always enjoy Jerusha Agen’s suspense novels. Trapped was really over-the-top enjoyable. Changed names, old friends, and a teenaged daughter. The tension and intrigue started in the first chapter and kept my attention focused on this story to the very end. I could not see how the main characters were going to navigate the knot they found themselves in, but Agen unraveled it bit by bit to a satisfying conclusion. I was pleased with the ending but left hoping there would be other books to read in this series. I appreciated the message of this book that our mistakes and past don’t define our present and that God is a God of forgiveness and new beginnings.
