The beginning of the book came off a little repetitive at times with Logan and Samson's POVs; however, that didn't stop me from wanting to see where the story was going to go. Samson was the worst in this book, for him to be her friend first and supposedly wanting to be with her, the betrayal was like what. Then what he did later on in the book, I was shaking my head like he needed to get worse than he got.
Now Grant, he was a man. From their first encounter he was interested and he told her if they met again what it was going to be and he was definitely a man of his words. The way he not only cared for her, showed up and wanted to protect her, he was a keeper. Logan was irking my nerves a little bit with her behavior like let this man take care of you and be there for you but I was so happy she got it together because I liked the two of them together. Overall this was an enjoyable read with some drama and spice and it was a good debut.
Giving this a 2.5! I enjoyed the characters for the most part (Samson can kick rocks), and I think the story had a lot of potential but the flow was slightly off. Things were mentioned and never brought up again, and I there was some unfinished business with other characters where it would've been nice to see more about them and/or if there was resolution.
E-Book: This was a great story with a great plot, plot twists, & mental health representation! Grant is a man that j is what he wants & he wants Logan & will stop at nothing to get her. Samson is trifling & delusional but just wait when everything comes out! Somebody just might not make it out alive or will they?!?! Will love prevail or is it too much to handle?!?!
When you meet a man with the right introns know what he want stands on business bout you don’t let your past ruin it this book we well written and I was locked in from the first few pages this is romance done right I highly recommend reading
I enjoyed this story from beginning to end. I absolutely love Logan and Grant together. They had amazing chemistry and he was intentional about her. That douchebag, Samson, worked my nerves. Thank you, Kay Lorrin, for this story.
Absolutely loved Kay Lorrin’s debut novel! In less than 300 pages, we were well-acquainted with two complex main characters. I appreciated Logan and Grant’s storyline, and am hoping for a trilogy so we can learn more about Rowan and Harlowe. Samson’s storyline had a *very* satisfying ending #IYKYK.
