"Never, ever give up", the leaves seemed to whisper" (383)
I would like to thank Susan Russo Anderson for providing me with an advance copy of this book.
I loved this book! It was the prefect mix of relationship and mystery. As the book is written so that every chapter was written for a different characters perspective, it made the story seem more real; as we were able to see how the detective, the kidnapper, and the girl who was kidnapped felt at any given time. I really enjoyed this writing style. I felt that the plot was realistic and relatable, as it felt like it could have happened in real life.
This book is a quick read as I read it in a day, and it's a page turner!
I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it for anyone 14+

Read this wonderful book, you'll love it.
After reading "Too Quite in Brooklyn" had too read this one, you'll too. Fina so young but her six sense is perfect. Can't believe anybody going through those 4 days. I was about to kick Robert, but couldn't do that because of Lorraine.

I liked the book. It kept me interested, but I could still put it down and come back later. You did not need to read the 1st in the series to follow what was going on, although, it did refer back to the first book from time to time. It may make you want to read the first book in the series.

She's back at it again.
I read the 1st book too quiet in Brooklyn, this picks up where the first book ended with a new case, but with characters from the first book, I would read more of this authors books if there are any.

A disappointment
I was looking forward to this book, but ultimately was really disappointed. There wasn't a single attractive character, including the PI who flits in and out. I am a conversation reader, and this book had very little, and had lots of prose. The kidnap victim is a brat, her mom is a witch, and the villain is a broken man. That said, I pushed it to 20%, but no improvement in sight. This book reminded me of British novels, not books by an American author. Perhaps her other books are better, and I will attempt another one if it comes along.

A different kind of? Mystery
I really enjoyed this mystery written in first person paragraphs. It's been a long time since I've read a book like this.
The mystery was exciting with several answers revealed in the last chapters.

Missing Brandy
This second book in this series was withstood as the first. The book jumps back and fourth to much . It was hard to keep up. I hope the next book in this series is better.

A Good Read
A little slow at times without much mystery, but a good read none the less. The ending was a little predictable

Liked it. Kidnapping, murder and a PI who works well with police and FBI. Keeps you wondering about connections throughout the book.

Really liked it! Enjoyed being back with Fina, Denny, Cookie, and the whole gang. There was enough suspense to keep it interesting, enough humor to keep it lighthearted, and enough of friendships, relationships, romance to keep the characters interesting. I liked seeing Denny's mom utilized more in this book, and I loved the fact that she could use her skills in work outside of caring for Denny's dad. This is a good read for both women and men of all ages, especially if you like a mystery with a strong female lead. This one is now available in an AUDIOBOOK format through Audible! Here’s a cliché: I couldn’t put it down!
That’s a lie. I could put it down. I had to put it down because there was business that needed attention.
So, truth is — I was obliged to put it down…but I didn’t want to.
This is the first Fina FitzGibbons novel I’ve read and I enjoyed every page. The intricate plot elements are brought together masterfully.
Would I read another Fina FtizGibbons story? Of course I would.
[A final thing: thanks to whoever for deciding to published using a font size large enough to be comfortable for sexagenarian eyes.]

A good story with a believable plot. Initially difficult to follow the narrative as it jumped from place to place and time, but once I understood how the author was developing the storyline it flowed well. I do think one of the villains could have been developed more as he had the potential to be mor sinister than he was. The lead Gillian was also less striking and almost bland, however his rational for kidnapping Brandy was understandable in a twisted way.

Missing
The story shows the pain, emotional turmoil that losing a loved one can bring ,how we deal with it varies by each one of us.The easy way or hard way ,some survive, some stumble along, others do as Hendry did.

Very engaging
For no reason I can put into a cohesive explanation, I was thru over 40 percent and about to quit reading when the story grabbed me. I could barely put it down. I really liked the characters and their interactions. I am anxious to see if they are in the next book!

Solid Fina Story - minor spoiler....
Less Fina and less character-driven than the prior book I read. Not clear to me that the deaths revealed in the story were, indeed, the work of a single psycho.
