Mangas leídos: ''Le Vicomte de Valmont - Les Liaisons dangereuses'', de Chiho Saito... Idioma francés, Editor Soleil, 2 tomos. (Retelling, clásico adaptado a manga, erotismo, relaciones varias...)

Me encanta la mangaka Chiho Saito: sus dibujos son tremendos, brutales, sensuales al punto que me recuerdan a mi ídolo por excelencia... Sus trazos transmiten además esa sensación de contemplar algo bello, delicado... fino. Y salvaje a la vez. Al menos a mi parecer...

Sus historias son modernas y también clásicas. Temas de controversia, poderes, música, ballet y ópera, romanticismo, retellings de historias conocidas y personajes reales...

No puedo evitar que me encante, ni quiero.

En esta ocasión, un manga de 2 tomos que compré en idioma francés..., que nos recordaba la historia de ''Las amistades peligrosas'': del autor Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, que muchos conoceréis..., en la que unas personas juegan a ser manos que mueven las fichas que en este caso se tratan de más personas. Juegos que no deberían jugarse; pero aún se juegan...

Erotismo, sentimientos varios, aprendizaje por todos lados...

Una belleza visual con encajes en trajes encantadores... Melenas y máscaras que ocultan masculinos rostros de facciones ''angelicales''...

Y recordar que el sexo quizás sea un juego que puede salir mal parado... pueden darte por el lado contrario; aunque suene ambiguo...

Valmot is a decently fine manga, especially considering that it is only two volumes long. That being said, I do not think it is quite the right manga for me. Saitou's art, even for her newer works, is much closer to classic shoujo art, and I appreciate that. Despite the gap between them, I think this would read very well right along with The Rose of Versailles as the art is reasonably similar and they both take place during the French Revolution. So, art wise, if you prefer the older shoujo stye, this one certainly is beautiful to look at.

I cannot fully judge how much credit can be given to Saitou for the plot as it is actually an adaptation of the French classic Dangerous Liaisons by Choderlos de Laclos which I have not read. And that's really the crux of it; as the title suggests, this story is steeped in affairs and pretty much centres around nobles playing court games and trying to get into each other's beds. Was it well written? I can only comment on this manga adaptation and yes, especially given it's short length, I think it was both well written and nicely drawn. It is plain and simply not the kind of plot I care much for, but I can appreciate that it is nonetheless a work well done.

I disegni mi piacciono molto, hanno un tratto molto delicato e Valmont è davvero un gran figo. Per essere un fumetto è un po' particolare perché tenta di trasporre un romanzo che è in buona parte epistolare, quindi ci sono delle tavole un po' verbose, rispetto a un fumetto "standard", però è ugualmente scorrevole.

Avviso ai naviganti: Nella recensione parlo anche del libro e della sua conclusione,chi non conosce il seguito della storia è avvertito sulla possibile presenza di spoiler. *** Il romanzo di de Laclos non mi era piaciuto granchè,e non sono nemmeno una grande fan della Saito,però pensavo che dall'abbinamento potesse venir fuori del buono( un po' come in matematica,dove meno x meno fa più :D),e così è stato. Con un canovaccio già dato stavolta non c'era il rischio di una sceneggiatura un po' debole,che a mio avviso è uno dei limiti della mangaka,d'altra parte come manga la storia perde un po' della verbosità eccessiva che secondo me affliggeva il romanzo ;oggettivamente,non credo di essere mai stata granchè come corrispondente,e sicuramente non sono una damina francese dell'800,ma un romanzo basato unicamente sulla corrispondenza privata di alcuni dei personaggi che permetta di seguire l'intera vicenda per filo e per segno a me sembra davvero un po' troppo artificioso,per non dire della dissolutezza,immoralità e corruzione dei due protagonisti,che alla fine vengono sì punite,dopo però avermi abbondantemente disgustata durante tutta la lettura. Ora c'è da vedere come sarà il secondo volume,in questo primo le aspettative che avevo si sono pienamente realizzate:il tratto elegante della Saito è perfetto per questo genere di storia,e lei ha avuto ogni agio di mettere a piacimento in posa i suoi personaggi. Ha ripreso ampi passaggi del romanzo,ma ci sono abbastanza dialoghi per non cadere uccisi dalla noia,e nel complesso mi pare che collochi meglio la figura del libertino all'interno del pensiero illuminista di quanto facesse il romanzo.

I was looking for visualization preferences when reading Les Liaisons Dangereuses (the novel), and I do not really like how everyone look in the movies... Then I stumbled upon this manga and I decided to read it for visualization preference but I kind of liked it beside of that for other reasons too. I love how the extravagant dresses are drawn, and the character's expression (especially Madame de Tourvel) is just so nice to look at.

Il voto basso non è dovuto alla povera Chiho Saitō: il suo stile mi piace molto. Così elegante e... di classe... Ma non so, non riesco a trovare la parole per descriverlo.

Comunque. Il voto basso è dovuto alla storia. A Valmont che gioca con le povere ragazze che sono tante ingenue da cadergli ai piedi. Alla sua collega, la marchesa di Merteuil, cui non frega nulla dei sentimenti delle persone e solo vuole il proprio piacere.

Sarà che sono in un periodo NO io stessa però... SIGH!! Com'è che noi ragazze ci facciamo sempre fregare?!

Leggerò anche il secondo, tanto è breve.

It's a very good adaptation from the book even though the author was actually inspired by the movie. I love the Liaison Dangereuses and I was really looking forward to this manga. I especially liked the dresses that are very well done and Mme de Merteuil who is a cold beauty here. Although the story is especially on Valmont it still did a nice jobs on other characters. The art is good and I would really recommend it.
