Nina Oliver is the master of second chance romance. A clean, no spice story about second chances and building something new. Great character development makes you want to root for the characters to get their HEA.
I received this book from the author and even though a review wasn’t required, I wanted to offer my honest, voluntary impression after reading it.
Nina has combined four of her books into a box set which showcases her talent as a gifted author who writes heartwarming stories full of hope, promise, determination, and in some cases deception hiding bitterness at what happened to a loved one and/or what another feels may occur if the truth about who she is comes out.
It’s so easy to get caught up in these stories! Reading them feels like reading actual experiences from their lives! None of them feel like made up stories! I could relate to each of the main characters as I read them because of what they went through and what they now were trying to accomplish!
There is a story of a young woman who wants to be recognized and accepted by what she does and not her name so she conceals that fact and it almost costs her everything when the truth comes out.
Then there is a woman who was jilted at the altar and the next day finds out her job is on the line but the man who found her after her humiliation at the church helps her save her job and her reputation at the same time.
Next is a story of two people who loved each other but fear and pride caused them to part only to meet back in their hometown again some twenty years later and find they are working together on a project his teenage girl and her friend have come up with to help the town. Personal issues develop which help them search inside themselves to see if it’s not too late to see if they may have a second chance at happiness.
Lastly a man is angry at a town where his brother died and writes a scathing article about the town but then tries to help renovate buildings to try and repair the damage his article caused. A woman moves in next door and when she hears of the article doesn’t take the town’s side but thinks there is more to the story that what the article stated and defends the anonymous writer not knowing it’s her next door neighbor!
Each story is very believable and is easy to understand the points of view of everyone. Communication is paramount in every relationship as well as honesty and it is stretched in the first story even though the rationale behind it is understandable! The old saying “Honesty is the Best Policy” certainly is applicable here!
The feelings you have as you read these stories is real! Emotionally you are vested in their lives because you understand where each is coming from and want them to have their happily ever afters but in some cases soul searching needs to be done before that ending can be achieved.
I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend this box set as one I truly believe you’ll enjoy! You may need a box of kleenex handy because some tears are bound to fall as you read these stories!
Nina writes stories with heart and her characters are so life like it’s hard to remember they are just stories because you feel like you are right there watching it occur in real time! When you are invested in the stories and the characters that’s when stories become real to you!
I loved the feelings and emotions these stories brought out in me and urge you to pick up this box set and read these wonderful stories and let that same feeling settle into you as these stories come to life as you read them!

This collection of books from Nina Oliver is a delightful set of sweet small-town romances, with no smut. Also, the nosy neighbors always meddling in the MC's business is a fun element to her stories. If you love a contemporary romance, but don't want the smut, these stories are for you. My favorite is The Fireman Next Door, because who doesn't love a man in uniform?
