Offworld Meat Market #4

Possessed by the Dreadbringer

Rate this book
I've been running from fate my entire life until I slammed face first into a four-armed monster who bought me off the auction block. He isn't a slaver. He's a war god in the making, and the second he ripped out his own heart and fed it to me, I became his.

Nocil Dreadbringer.

He carves through armies with a laugh in his throat. His own warriors whisper his name when they think he can't hear.

Then he looks at me and my body betrays me.

He force-feeds me his dead mother's favorite cake just to taste it through our bond. He guts one of his own generals for daring to touch me. In bed he cradles me in all of his arms and never lets go. When he says mine, my body answers before my mouth can argue.

He hates every creature in this ruined galaxy.

But I belong to him.

And he would burn the stars to keep me.

Possessed by the Dreadbringer is Book 4 in the Offworld Meat Market series, a dark MM monster-alien romance with a four-armed alien war god, blood-bonded servitude, obsessive possession, "touch him and die," a ruthless hero who hates everything but his human, and an HEA five centuries in the making.

I could have liked this book more but the different genres and the noncon were wearing.

The MMC character whose name I've already forgotten gets tricked and sold into sexual slavery more than once. This world is a harsh mistress and takes no prisoners - just utilises holes.

Despite being used and abused by other guys, the MMC still leaves his heart open for insta lust.

"At the center, on a throne that fit him like a hearth fits fire, he waited. His four arms were crossed over his chest. His wild hair spiked like a careless crown. His red eyes locked on mine instantly, unblinking. Markings pulsed beneath his skin like embers under ash; alive and almost ritualistic. He was a man who was absolutely nothing like the others’.

My mouth went dry. My pulse thumped. My traitor dick twitched at the raw power of his presence. Curse my attraction to big dominating men!"

He eventually meets with Nocil, war god (4 arms, 2 dicks). Becomes his chosen through a disgusting ceremony and then goes on an endless battle until the end.

"The camp had gone quiet around us. Heads turned. I felt every stare. Nocil’s voice dropped to a growl. “Grab your spear. We duel. The one thing that will bring me pleasure aside from my chosen’s ass is watching you finally die.”

I have no further thoughts apart from the certainty that two massive dicks barbed and ridged, inside one small hole with no prep is not pleasurable or achievable for a standard human. Unless you are trying to murder a guy through his ass. Which is why we have the sci fi tag to make that all work out.

Goodness.

Offworld Meat Market is a very variable series; some okay, some nonsensical, other unreadable.

Then the AI doesn't know if it should write unhinged porn or a good story, and then mix both and don't do either really good.

And yeah, with this one its so obvious it's AI, because the alien is literally Sukunas demon form from Jujutsu Kaisen - four arms, markings, pink hair, pretty big.
Also the AI forgot later, that he has two dicks *snort* so yeah, sorry.

And it is AGAIN such a sad thing - the underlying story would've been such a great idea for a long book, about being the chosen of a not-yet-god and stuff.

But alas, it's just mediocre porn and a sad story, going nowhere. But the gore was quite... a lot *shrug* like i said. I don't like AI written stuff, but sadly this side of unhinged mosnterfucking isn't something many write, so i take what i can get.

Omg So Good!!

Gah! I thoroughly love these books! They are strange and dark, and the endings aren't traditional HEA in any sense of the phrase, but they are all still so right for the MCs.

I thought the previous book in the series, with the swarm, was my favorite, but I may like this one more. Everything about it was so rich and heavy, but perfect for the MC.

Anyway, high heat with a dark, bizarre, and monstrous partner. This one, especially, is not for anyone squeamish, but it's totally worth it if you aren't.

Totally recommend this book and the whole series.

Confusing! Needed to be longer.

This was a confusing read! Not a lot of detail was given on the alien MMC at first and then all of sudden he is a “god” getting ready to go into a 500 year slumber and needs to unalive a whole bunch of people before doing so???

Two stars and not one because the two MMC’s have the most “communicative relationship” of the series so far. The human MMC is feisty and that was enjoyable to read. The spice is just ok, double of everything does not always mean better.

This series skirts the line between consent and SA, so if that’s a trigger, please beware.

Brutal, weird, and unforgettable

The first sentence of the book is the gist of the story:
"Life sucks and then you die... or maybe you become an immortal chosen of a war god". If you read the series, the human MC, Ronan, ties together Cyrion in book 1 as well as Topaz in book 3. The alien war god is Nocil Dreadbringer, a weird character who made the story a combination of horror and scifi.
I had to re-read this a few times to get over the 'WTF did I just read feeling' because the shift from lust to something more was very subtle. Despite the novelty, I had to take away an entire star for typos -- it was too much for a novella in this day and age.

⭐️⭐️✨ These books are so fucking weird. Like I’m equally fascinated and appalled by the content. I don’t have much to say about this honestly. Ronan and Nocil were interesting to say the least. I’m pretty sure every single “relationship” in this series started with rape so I don’t necessarily like any of the couples but Nocil became a god and Ronan became the god’s chosen one so cool enough.

Wtf. I don’t even know. Just… what? I read the reviews. I kind of thought I knew what I’d be reading. I was wrong. So so wrong. It was just I don’t even know. 1 star for being unique, 1 star for making me giggle because I was so disturbed and saying wtf at least 15 times in a book that didn’t even have 100 pages.

well

That was my favorite one so far. It was totally worth it getting to book 4 to read about him. This book and book one are my absolute favorites. It’s something close to worship these two and I think that’s what feels soo wow about it.

It was good!

A different take on gods and how to become them, and choosing whether to wealth or love. I was locked in.

great

This was better than great. I loved their story, the slow unfearing of his world as both us and the MC learned who had bought him and what’s to come next
