Sam Taplin grew up in a beautiful valley in Yorkshire, where he dreamed of being a writer, and after three years reading other people's books at university he started writing his own. He's been doing it ever since. When he's not writing about lonely rabbits or inquisitive bears, he likes doing card tricks, writing songs and playing long games of chess by the fire.
We have had this book for a year and we go back to it time and time again. It takes you through all the different aspects of being a knight - training, chivalry, weapons plus lots of information about the hierarchy and life in castles etc. It has the usual high quality Usbourne production and illustrations with a good mix of facts and jokes, quizzes and anecdotes. It has also been useful as a reference book for the odd homework assignment. I'd definitely recommend this as a gift for any knight loving 5-8 year olds.
This is a delightful little sarcastic book about how to become a knight. It's filled with wonderful illustrations that highlight the text which is both witty and informative. A fabulous read for children and adults.
This is an informative book but isn't boring like a text book. It's full of clever and often hilarious illustrations and text. My eight-year-old son loves this book and I often find him laughing out loud while reading. Definitely recommended!

Too much fun. When I chose this book from a local Little Free Library I was thinking of sending it to my great-nephew, who is into knights and dragons and such. But I couldn't resist peeking at it and then reading it cover to cover. Utterly delightful. Tongue-in-cheek deadpan factual delivery alongside charming illustrations. I am going to pass this around my grown adult friends instead of wasting it on a 12 year old.
Nederlandse vertaling van 'The Usborne Official Knight's Handbook'.
This books name is Knight's Handbook. This book is written by Sir Archibald Whistleblade. This book is non fiction and is easy to read. I chose to read this book because long time ago when I came to psi I didn't know english and I got this book as a present but I could not read it. Now I wanted to read this book.
This book tells a story of how to become a knight in medieval era and lots of different thing about knights in medieval time. The book is interesting and you can learn some different fun stuff you didn't know before. I think this book brings the information it should.
Overall I think this book wasn't so good because it was easy to read and is mainly for little kids but I still read it cause I had it. I would recommend this book for age from 7 to 9 and the score I give to this book is 6 out of 10. I put this score not because the book is bad but because it was too easy to read and not for my age.

This was a very entertaining children's book. I loved the funny illustrations and diagrams used to explain the life of a knight in the medieval age. This book is very factual and from what I have read is true facts for I have researched the medieval ages and have found some of the exact information displayed here. This is a wonderful book to teach a history lesson about kings, nobles, and knights.
Cute, easy read. Gave a lot of useful information for children about knights without feeling like a textbook. This is a book that a student could use to get information for a report, but it is also something that could be read for fun.
