Zero Floor: Book Five: The Admin

Rate this book
The System is secure. The community is five thousand strong. And someone just sent a letter that we built this. We want it back.

Forty-three years ago, seven institutions funded a researcher named Yuki to build something that might save the world. She did. Then she disappeared into it without saying goodbye. Now, with Yuki gone and the System's administrative handover complete, the original Founders have activated a dormancy clause buried in a forty-three-year-old contract — and they have the access codes to back it up.

Kael Voss has seven nodes to close. Seven floors. Seven people, each with exactly the right capability, activating simultaneously in a four-minute window at four in the morning. The full team, one last time, before everything changes.

But the real battle isn't at the nodes. It's in a Thursday orientation session, where forty-three ordinary extraordinary people show the Founders what the System was actually built for. And in a letter Yuki left in a coffee shop drawer, addressed to the person who came after her, asking one question she'd been waiting forty-three years to have answered.

The Admin is the series finale of Zero Floor — the complete conclusion to Kael Voss's journey from an [Unclassed] nobody on Floor 1 to the foundation of a System built to carry humanity forward. Funny, warm, genuinely moving, and satisfying in all the ways a five-book series deserves to be.

It ends on Floor 1. Where it began. With someone new getting their assignment.

The wheel keeps turning.
