This novella is heartbreakingly beautiful. Read it with a box of tissues.
Crushed is an extension of Andi and Jackson’s story which began in Broken, the first book of the Breaking the Rules series. You really need to read the first four to truly get the full experience with this novella.
Andi and Jackson had a hard road to be together. However, what most romance novels leave out is the struggles of life after the standard HEA. Now, don’t get me wrong, most of the time, I love that. I’m a sappy romantic who won’t usually read a book with a sad ending. Lucky for me, this novella still has one. But regardless, I’ll read anything K. Webster writes.
Throughout the books in the series, we see Andi and Jackson work to make their relationship solid. This is the way real life operates. Nothing worth having is easy. And while it’s tough to see them struggling, it also makes you love these characters even more.
When Andi and Jackson begin to have fertility struggles, the strain takes a huge toll on them. No one is ever prepared to deal with this trial and you just have to learn how to handle the heart break as you go. At times, I was frustrated with Jackson, but in Crushed he steps so far up to the plate that he knocks the home run into outer space. The depth of his love for Andi is embedded in his soul and while he has always been my favorite man of the series, he is now my freaking hero.
I empathize with Andi, from experience. The pain she has to endure is excruciating and you can never truly understand it without living it. But, OMG, K. Webster will get you as close to it as possible. She has the ability to pull you in and make you feel the tares in Andi and Jackson’s souls. And, I know there may be moments here you don’t agree with Andi’s choices and emotions, but remember than you are not in her shoes. K. Webster brings agony, passion, love, and acceptance into these few short pages. She brings to the surface a reality that life is hard, but even more so, that there is always happiness to be found.
The true HEA is the one you create on your own, the one you work for. Despite the sobbing mess I was at the end, I was also left with the joy of seeing Andi and Jackson get their happily ever after.
This is a beautiful novella and a must read. This book gets more stars than I can count.

Such a beautiful and heartbreaking story.

Having read the entire Breaking The Rules series, I knew that Andi and Jackson were having some problems. So, when I found out that K.Webster was giving us this novella, I was like "YES, more Jackson and Andi!" However, I was warned: "Amy, you're going to need tissues" and I did. This book wrecked me.

The struggles and loss that Andi and Jackson went through were so difficult, so realistic, so easy to relate to. My heart broke for them as they went through this journey and I just wanted to hug them both and make them better. This book is not an easy read. The pain, the sadness and the frustration is so palpable. It will be as if it is your own. This journey, even though it is difficult, is so worth it in the end. No two characters deserved a HEA, than these two.

All I can say is thank you, K. Webster. Thank you for giving me this story that made me cry and fall in love all at the same time.

You do not need to read the entire Breaking The Rules series to enjoy this one, but do at least need to read the first book Broken.

*I was provided an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

Crushed is Jackson and Andi's story about their struggle to have a baby and the utter heartbreak and devastation they endured along the way. Whether you or someone you know has tried and failed to have children you know how hard this is, not only for the woman but for the couple as a whole. Andi is at her lowest point ever after having suffered multiple miscarriages and watching her closest friends easily conceive and give birth to many healthy kids. Andi is also taking fertility medications that have caused mood swings / depression and that is coupled with the weight gain from the previous pregnancies which is causing her self esteem to plummet and makes her more difficult to deal with. The very last thing Jackson wants to hear is that his wife is pregnant again. Jackson is terrified his wife is slowing losing her mind and knows for sure she can't handle any more heartache. This book is so raw and real with a very accurate portrayal of how things can go askew from reading online forums / Web MD. Jackson has turned in to such a inspirational man in this book with the amount of love and support he gives to Andi. Whether it was tough love or tender he was there and never once did he doubt his marriage or his love for her. Definite 5 star read that will cause you to ugly cry but everything will workout in the end for their family :)

This book (insert sigh here). I cried sad tears. I cried happy tears. This novella is from K. Webster's "Breaking the Rules" series. To really know the characters, I would suggest at least reading Andi and Jackson's book "Broken". You will not be disappointed. I fell in love with this entire series almost instantly.

Crushed is the next chapter in Andi and Jackson's story and it deals with the very real life struggles that many women keep quiet. Miscarriage and infertility. K. details the pain and suffering of their loss and the weight of these things on Andi and Jackson's marriage. I love that despite their ups and downs Jackson remains Andi's rock. I loved having a peek into Jackson's head as he struggled with his wife's depression. Andi's pain and sadness were heart wrenchingly accurate and had me grabbing for my tissue box. This book does have it's happy ending, but the loss they have to incur to get there just gutted me. It was just magnificently tragic and joy all wrapped up into one novella. I just wanted to squeeze my iPad as I read this book.

This book was beautifully written and despite the many tears I could not put it down. I feel like Andi and Jackson are my friends and I just wished for their happiness throughout the book. Definitely a 5 star read and grab the tissues.

This book is gut-wrenching and heart meltingly sad. Fair warning have a box of tissues by your side. But if you have read any of K. Webster's books before you know they all have a reason for what the characters go through and always get their happy endings some way or the other. Jackson and Andi are from the first book in this series Broken. That was when their story began and this book gave them their happy ending that they deserve. K. Webster is amazingly talented. This book takes you on a sad sad journey. Like I said before it is down right gut wrenching and heart breaking and all you do is cry until you can't see the pages anymore to read and you have to put it down for a minute even though you don't want to. After that you pick it up and your heart starts to mend right along with Andi and Jackson. This is a story of how strong two peoples love is for one another and that no matter what happens they will always make it through together. This book is definitely FIVE huge sparkling stars in my book. I highly recommend this book and the entire series if you haven't read it already. HAPPY READING!!!

EEEKKKKKKK! I Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Jackson! I have been waiting months and months for Jackson and Andi's novella. It's no secret they have been struggling for YEARS to conceive. As usual, I was a balling mess while reading this. The torture and emotions Andi and Jackson go through is just so heartbreaking. Unfortunately, there are many women that go through the same problems Andi is going through with miscarriages. Jackson is struggling. He loves his wife so much and can't take the pain in her heart away, it's killing him. Andi deserves a van full of children, yet she can't get just one of her babies to just hang on. I won't go into any details here, you just have to read this to find out the depth of Andi's struggles and how it ends for this sweet loving couple.

All I can say is READ THIS! Of course you have to read the other books in the series first, but get on it. Jackson is waiting for you! Oh and get the tissues ready. You will need them because this is definitely heart breaking.

When your soul is crushed until it's unrecognizable can the broken pieces of you still fit with its other half? This book is a huge battle of incredible love and outstanding loss. We see a whole new side of Jackson in this book, and I love it, while he's still his usual alpha self, he gets so much deeper in this book and I don't think the emotions on either side of things could have been any more real even if it was taped. It's heartbreakingly intense, and it crushes you, but it is worth it in the end. This book has such a powerful message behind it and it couldn't have been more beautifully and tragically done. My one complaint is that I wish it was longer, but as usual with my favorite authors that's my complaint every book because I don't want to let the characters go and I can't get enough!!

Jackson is still his super sexy self and gets even hotter being Andis rock. I didn't know it was possible for him to get any better but he does. bless Andis heart! this woman has been through hell and back a few times and she's still a bad ass. I love her!

OMG What do I say about this book!!

What an emotional book, even more so for me, because the issue is very close to my heart.

I Love Jackson and Andi, they are my favourite couple in the Breaking The Rules Series. What they are going through is truly heartbreaking. I cried ugly tear. It was so sad to see Andi completely shut down, and poor Jackson just feels helpless, coz he can't do anything to help Andi. All he wants to do is protect her.

As I said it's a matter close to my heart, so I know what they are feeling. The way K.Webster dealt and wrote the emotions was fantastic and spot on, so real. Almost like she was in my head at times. K.Webster treated this with the care and respect it needed.

A must read, but warning, have tissues, wine and chocolate ready!!

Words can not describe how incredible Andi & Jackson's story is. We have been with them from the beginning of their relationship all the ups and downs twists and turns but nothing can prepare you for the ultimate test in their relationship. We see the struggles that Andi has gone through but you are cheering her on and knowing the love Jackson has for her only makes you want to reach out grab the tissues and go along for the ride hoping the two of them can find the HEA they both desperately both deserve.
If you are looking for a book that will bring all the emotion you have out this us one you seriously should not miss

Wow. Amazing novella. I squeezed a little of my time and dug into this while waiting for my appointment yesterday and I just can't stop those uncontrollable tears streaming. It's so embarrassing! LoL.

Life is so unfair. (Cliche. Tsk tsk) And that is what Jackson and Andie's marriage life is. But as it is, there's rainbow always after the storm. ;) Andie and Jackson never give up and so they deserve that ending. I have wished for a longer, full-lenght novel but I know everything ended the way it's supposed to end!

This is a very emotional story about Andi and Jackson. Yes, there were so many sad tears, but glad there were some happy tears as well. This story is about family and what it means for the bonds of families during their difficult times. Jackson is the rock in the family for Andi. Andi comes to realize the good in a time when there was so much darkness.

Damn - loved it!

This novella made me cry hard! Jackson is the man and the writing was classic K-Web...she was finding her stride with book #4 and nailed it with this short installment! Crushed is appropriately titled, it will gut you to your core but once you finished reading this book you are grateful for such a beautiful ending. Truly loved the emotions from Andi and Jackson’s selfless love and protection for his family. It’s as if K-Web is writing with a voice of experience, this novella makes it worth reading the first three books of this series as painful as they are to read that I cannot believe I’m considering it but I will purchase the last book on Trent. I truly hope this will read like book #4 and #5. Fingers crossed it feels like a toss-up!🤞

I enjoyed this book even though it's sad in parts it's happy in the end. Andi and Jackson have been trying for five years to have a baby but instead they keep having miscarriages. Andi is pregnant again and things are looking up she has passed the first trimester.

Jackson finds that there is a young girl, 13 years old, and pregnant at his church and her parents are trying for an independent adoption. He wants to meet with her and see if he and Andi can maybe be the adoptive parents. Andi is against it but she agrees to go with him.

The young girl is three months ahead of Andi so there's plenty of time for Jackson and Andi to get to know Tyler before Thomas is born.

Crushed... but not Down...Finale of Jackson & Andi's story

Wow 😲😲😲. This story is one that kept me on the edge of my seat. There was so much drama in this story. As a woman I can empathize with Andi and Jackson. I never had a problem with getting pregnant or having my three sons. The idea of all that And I had to go through to have her happily ever after is heart wrenching but I was happy to know that it was not all in vain. I am so glad to have the ending that the author gave this story. It was a good read, no actually it was great 😃.

So Good

It was definitely a tear jerker for sure. I’m so glad the new secretary didn’t play a bigger part, I could have seen this going a different direction. Not with cheating, because let’s be honest, Jackson would never cheat, but with the whole flirting and stuff. My heart went out to Andie and Jackson with the loss of baby eight. Such a touching story.

I was so happy with the ending. What a great HEA.

I was given this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

“I’ll fight blind in the darkness for you. I’ll always fight for you.”

I am a newcomer to the Breaking The Rules series, and was a little hesitant to read Crushed because I hadn’t read the previous books. If you are a reader that is in a similar predicament, don’t hesitate! Take the plunge!

Andi and Jackson’s story is one of enduring love persevering through hardship and pain. It is seeing the storm, going through it, and coming out on the other side with fresh perspective and renewed life. When first meeting Andi and Jackson we immediately learn some very important things about their characters. They are madly in love with one other, body, mind, spirit, and soul. They are the perfect fit. But, we also learn that they have recently been struggling with some very personal and private issues that have brought them to a fork in the road. Tension is in the air for this couple. Difficulty conceiving, lessening self esteem, and inability to control life's situations have brought them to an impasse.

Infertility is such a tender subject, whether handled in a book or real life. K Webster placed her kid gloves on and gingerly told the hardship and pain that Andi and Jackson went through in their dark hour. But, the kid gloves came off when it came to their intimacy.  It was inspiring to witness the passion and love that resonated from the pages when they made love. I found it difficult to watch Andi struggle and want answers to unanswerable questions. Jackson’s outward show of emotion, when most think him to be a hard person, was the final crack in the dam for me. The author painted a picture of how life’s struggles tax the primary person and trickle down to all of those surrounding them. However, she also gave points of light that disengaged the darkness and gave a beautiful ending to the story.

heartbreaking and uplifting

We continue our story of Jackson and Andi. These two perfect, meant for each other people are fighting Mother Nature who continues to break Andi and Jackson's hearts repeatedly with multiple miscarriages.

At the beginning of the story we find Andi pregnant and doing everything to keep her baby while Jackson is trying to keep her from falling apart. Enter the opportunity to have two babies at once and Jackson takes that chance in hopes of helping beautiful Andi. They met with a teen mother and through rocky at first, they bond and agree to adopt her unborn son. Mother Nature then deal Andi another blow by taking her beautiful Thomas too early. Baby Tyler is adopted and starts healing Andi.

This beautifully written story tugged at my heart strings and left me needing tissues! The ending was exactly what was needed to bring happiness to all readers. I can see me reading this novella several times as it was amazing! K. Webster has done it again. She is hands down my favorite author!!!

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!

STORIES LIKE THESE ALWAYS MAKE ME SAD BECAUSE IT DEALS WITH REALITY. THE ONE THING THAT MAKES MY HEART ACHE MOST IN THE WORLD IS WHEN COUPLES WHO WANTS KIDS HAVE TROUBLE GETTING PREGNANT OR CAN'T GET PREGNANT.

In this novella, we follow Andi and Jackson and to be honest if I knew it was such a sad story despite the HEA, I would have prefered NOT TO READ IT because I prefer to keep my memory of them HAPPY AND SEXY. It was hard to see Andi acting so out of sorts and Jackson trying to piece it together so much....it just was too much pain.
