There’s just something about being back in the Tilton U world and with these characters that I love! And I’m always down for any Terror characters popping up too! Literally one of my favorite found family worlds!! I adore Mac & Fee from the start - their friendship is literally so precious, but I love how they both are pining for more, yet can’t see the other’s crush. They both are so supportive and caring of each other and I couldn’t get enough of each action that showed this.

Audiobook: Performed in duet by Kat Auden & Alex Kydd. They both did an AMAZING job with this book and I could not stop listening! It was fun and playful, but also they both showcased the emotions during those harder times so well!

We remember both from previous books.
Fee is an art student and Mac is the most eligible college hockey bachelor. And that's the problem. He has to concentrate on hockey this year - he's not playing well. And he can't have girls throwing themselves at him 351 times a day.
Enter Fee - part of his close friends circle - and his crush. And she's also super crushing on him too - which obviously neither of them knows about the other. But still - Fee offers to play his fake girlfriend to keep the fangirls away.

Adorable!

I loved reading this.
It was so sweet and funny and sparky and college-y and hockey-y and artsy and just so dang adorable!
The reader knows that those two are perfect for each other. Even their friends know that they really like-like each other. But they're just so not there yet. Fee is still grieving her parents and she doesn't want to chance losing another person she might love and Mac doesn't want to be known as the guy who used his girlfriend's Terror connections to get ahead in his hockey future. And they don't want to destroy their friendship and risk their circle of friends. Adorable.
We also get some sad moments talking about Fee's parents and I kind of wanted a bit less of that. It gets talked about a lot and that and a few other things felt a bit repetitive for me. But I still adored this story. Amazing cast - plus all the cameos! I loved it. Finished it in a day!
Can't wait to read the upcoming books about all the darlings who are still single!

Loved these two together.

Book #2 Tilton University series

Very sweet characters. I just adore them. The story is so sweet, and these characters will burrow their way into your heart. Fee is a college age artist still feeling the emotions of losing her parents at a young age. She has had a crush on her friend Mac since they met. Mac is a hot hockey player dealing with pressure to not let anyone down, while navigating his hockey life and not getting friend zoned by the girl he likes. I loved that Mac needs an emotional connection before he gets physical. This felt so real to me. It was refreshing to not have the MMC be a f*ck boy. The narrators performed these characters perfectly and I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

This book was so fricken cute.
My 2nd ARC for Helena Hunting and gosh I’m so glad I got picked!!

It had me giggling and kicking my feet. But there were also moments where I was in my feels just like Fee and Mac.

Can we just sit for a moment and appreciate the emotional depth of these characters in Helena’s written universe? The fact that they are so well thought out and enlightened and able to work out their issues in healthy ways. Ugh. Allllllll the green flags!

Okay so the meat and potatoes: (and an almost spoiler)
She wants him and is terrified of ruining the friend dynamic, he wants her but doesn’t know how to express those feelings. And then after fake dating they end up going for it.

So many sweet moments, filthy pillow talk 🫦, and excellent banter between this amazing found family make this an excellent read! 🌶️🌶️

TONS of cameos throughout, and i highly recommend reading the other books in this universe so those cameos make sense.
Overall? Top tier fluffy sports romance read. I will forever and ever come back to Helena! And you should too!!

I loved being back at Tilton University with Mac, Fee and the gang!
I listened to the audiobook because it was addictive! The narrators (Kat and Alex) were absolutely amazing at bringing these characters to life. The duet narration was flawless.
Mac has all the girls flocking to him to the extent the poor guy can’t eat as they constantly talk to him, till Fee jumps in and exclaims “can you let my boyfriend please eat”
From there these two besties decide to fake date so Mac can get some breathing space but these two friends BOTH harbour feelings for one another and are just frightened to put those into words.
Their relationship is something amazing and I loved it.
Loved cameos from some of our faves especially Roman and Lexi.
Cannot wait to see what Gage and Brody get up to in their book because I’m so ready for them after this one.

Ugh, I really love this Tilton University Blaze world. And Helena Hunting knows exactly how to give me the kind of found-family romance that makes me want to move into the friend group's orbit and never leave. Mac Meyers Needs Me is another great addition to this college hockey world, and the combination of tropes was pretty much the perfect recipe for a college romance.

Hockey romance. Friends to lovers. Fake dating. Mutual pining. First love. Found family. College romance. Slow burn (sort of). Throw all of that together and then give me Mac and Fee? Yep. I was in.

Because these two are SWEET.

There is so much pining and yearning in this one, and of course being in the same friend group makes everything a little more complicated. Neither one wants to risk messing up the friendship, so you get all that awkwardness and uncertainty that comes with young love. And honestly? It made me smile. They watch each other constantly, but it's active observation, people. Not stalking. 😂 They just notice each other. A LOT.

And Mac?

Sigh.

Mac is such a nice guy. He's thoughtful, fun, a great friend, a major flirt, and just an all-around good guy. He's also a world-class snuggler, which I'm pretty sure should be an official romance hero qualification. 😉 This is a slow burn-ish romance, but it makes perfect sense for Mac. He needs that emotional connection before he's ready to go all the way with someone, and I really liked that about him. Watching that connection and trust build between him and Fee made all that pining and yearning even better. And the chemistry between him and Fee is there from the beginning. How could Fee not fall for him?

Fee is pretty darn easy to love too. She's an artist, a popcorn lover, an excellent fake girlfriend, and she's trying to figure out what comes next for her. After everything she's already been through, I loved watching her put herself out there again, both with Mac and with her art. Poor Fee. When the conflict comes, her hurt hits differently because of everything she's already lost, and my heart hurt right along with hers.

And Mac has his own journey too. He's still trying to find his confidence and figure out what he wants for his future in hockey. So you aren't just rooting for Fee and her future as an artist. You're rooting for Mac and his future in hockey, too. And then you're rooting like crazy for the two of them together.

Mac and Fee are just good for each other.

The relationships in this book are spectacular. Even though this is Fee and Mac's story, you can't help but become invested in the whole friend group. Chase and Cammie, Gage, Brody, Enid, and of course Tally, who helps bridge this world with the Toronto Terror world. They all bring something to the story, and I loved getting to spend more time with them.

And then we get special appearances from the Toronto Terror and the Hockey Academy. EEEK! Especially you, Alex Waters. 🫠 And there's even a nod to my fave, Kodiak Bowman. You know I'm going to notice those little things. Those little connections are like finding hidden treasures for me.

I also have to give Cammie's LOTR fanfic an honorable mention because… I mean. 🥵

This isn't a super angsty romance, but these are new adults with BIG feelings, and watching them try to figure out this whole life thing, especially while trying to figure it out together, gave me all the feels. It actually made me a little nostalgic for my own college days. There is something about that awkward, hopeful stage of life where everything feels like it's happening for the very first time, and Helena Hunting captures that feeling so well.

And watching the future Fee and Mac dreamed about slowly become their reality? That was the good stuff. I loved seeing them find their confidence, find their direction, and find their way to each other.

At the end of the day, Mac Meyers Needs Me gave me hockey, friendship, found family, pining, first love, fake dating, LOTR fanfic, and a couple who are just really, really sweet together.

Basically, Helena Hunting gave me another reason to hang around Tilton University a little longer, and I'm certainly not complaining. ❤️

I’m part of Helena Hunting’s reading team, so I was lucky enough to receive both an ARC and ALC of Mac Meyers Needs Me, which comes out September 10th. This is book two in the Tilton University series, and while I honestly can’t remember if I read the first one 😂, I’m very familiar with Helena’s hockey world because I’ve read—and even ARC read—some of her Toronto Terror books.

This series feels like another branch of that same hockey universe. There are connections to characters from the other books, but here we’re following the younger college crowd at Tilton University.

And this time we have Mac Meyers and Ophelia “Fee” Forrest-Hammer. 💕
Mac and Fee are best friends who have been secretly crushing on each other without either one having the courage to actually SAY SOMETHING. You know, because apparently communicating would make things far too easy. 😂

Mac is also basically the guy everyone on campus wants. The constant attention gets so ridiculous that one day Fee finally snaps and tells everyone to leave her boyfriend alone.
Tiny problem: Mac isn't her boyfriend.

But instead of correcting her, Mac basically thinks this is the greatest idea she's ever had.
And hello, fake dating + best friends to lovers + mutual secret pining?! I'm in. 😂

This was such a sweet college romance. Mac and Fee already have that comfortable friendship and history together, so I really enjoyed watching that relationship slowly shift into something more. Of course, because they've both been hiding their feelings, there's some miscommunication along the way, along with some heavier emotional moments involving old wounds and trauma.

It isn't overly dramatic, though. For the most part, this is a really cute, easy romance with enough emotion to give the story some depth—and yes, it actually managed to get a tear out of me. 💧

One thing that surprised me was that there's actually not a huge amount of hockey on the page. Hockey is part of Mac's life and the overall world of the series, but we don't spend tons of time watching games or hanging around the rink. So even if you're not a massive hockey-romance reader, I think you could easily enjoy this one.

The audiobook is performed in duet narration by Kat Auden and Alex Kydd, and I really enjoyed them together. 🎧 I've listened to Alex Kydd before, but I don't remember hearing Kat Auden previously, and I thought she did a great job. Their performances gave Mac and Fee so much personality and added real emotion to some of the heavier scenes. Considering they managed to make me cry, I'd say they did their jobs pretty well! 😂

Overall, Mac Meyers Needs Me was a really sweet best-friends-to-lovers/fake-dating romance with mutual pining, great chemistry, a little spice and just enough emotion and drama to keep me invested. If those are your tropes, this is definitely one to add to your list.

A very solid 4 stars from me! 💕🏒

Mac Meyers Needs Me is a fun, flirty, sweet, and wonderfully addictive college romance filled with fake dating, secret crushes, friendship, ridiculous chemistry, and all the delicious tension that comes when two people are clearly meant for each other but somehow have not figured it out yet.

Ophelia Forrest-Hammer has been crushing on Mac Meyers for what feels like forever. Unfortunately, Mac is also one of the most popular and wanted guys on campus, which means being his friend comes with a constant stream of interruptions from women trying to get his attention. When Ophelia finally has enough and blurts out that Mac is her boyfriend just to make them leave, she expects embarrassment. What she does not expect is Mac deciding her completely unhinged idea might actually be brilliant.

Mac is charming, confident, ridiculously flirty, and somehow completely oblivious to just how much Ophelia wants him. Watching him step into the fake boyfriend role is so much fun because the lines between pretending and reality start disappearing very quickly. There is something incredibly swoony about the way he begins focusing all that attention on Ophelia, especially when it becomes clear that maybe his feelings are not nearly as casual as she believes.

I really enjoyed Ophelia. She is funny, relatable, and trying desperately to protect her heart while living out the fantasy she has secretly wanted for so long. Her friendship with Mac gives their relationship such a strong foundation, and the banter, teasing, jealousy, and growing intimacy make their transition from friends to something more completely addictive.

Kat Auden and Alex Kydd were fantastic as Ophelia and Mac. They captured the humour, chemistry, vulnerability, and playful energy between these two perfectly and made the story incredibly easy to get lost in.

Mac Meyers Needs Me is everything I want from a fake dating college romance. It is funny, sexy, sweet, full of chemistry, and packed with those little moments where you are practically begging two completely oblivious people to realise they are already halfway in love.

Ooh, this was definitely my favorite of the Tilton series, as well as the broader "second" generation that has been built off of the Toronto Terror series.

Fee, the sister of FMC Lexi from If You Love Me, has been secretly thirsting after her close friend, Mac Meyers. When Mac continues to get inundated by women who want to date him, Fee makes the choice to claim him as her boyfriend. For Mac, this is a dream come true, because he's also been thirsting after Fee. Not only does their fake dating get the attention of him, it also puts him in Fee's orbit, so he can try to make her *officially* his.

Mac may be one of the sweetest of Helena Hunting's MMCs. He's ultra-supportive of Fee's burgeoning art career, but also gives her a safe space to feel her feelings about losing her parents (you don't have to have read If You Love Me, but it does give you valuable back story). Hunting has probably gone a little bit overboard here, let's be real, college-aged men aren't this emotionally mature, but I'll let it slide.

Fee is such an interesting character in her own right, and super supportive of Mac. She lives a secret double life as a Banksy-style artist and also knows a whole lot about hockey! Hunting has given Mac some struggles during the book and Fee ends up being the person to build him up the most. Losing her parents really drives Fee in so many ways, and this is a recurring plot point in this book. That's both a trigger warning for those that might struggle with stories about grief, but also a small note that it felt a little overdone in places.

Hunting's greatest strength is always the found family/broader friend groups she creates, and this book was A+++ in that regard. Not only do we get to revisit Chase and Cammie's relationship (still going strong), get a preview of two burgeoning relationships to round out the rest of this series, we also get to see all of our favorite Toronto Terror stars (and some from even older series). You don't have to have read any of these books to enjoy this one, but if you're a long time fan of Hunting's, you'll love all of the guest appearances and the knowledge that everyone is still very, very hot and very, very in love.

I have been reading Helena Hunting’s books from the very beginning and she never disappoints me! Mac Meyers Needs Me is the second book in the Tilton University series. After reading the first book, I was so excited to hear that the series was going to continue with Mac and Fee.

Ophelia “Fee” Foster-Hammer has had a crush on Mac since the day she met him. She never let it be known for fear of ruining the friend group dynamic if Mac did not return her feelings. What she doesn’t know is Mac has a had a crush on her the whole time too. Mac is on the Tilton U hockey team and a huge puck bunny magnet. He can barely get through a meal without being interrupted at least 10 times. Fee, both feeling bad for her friend getting constant intrusions and a little jealous because of her feelings, puts a stop to it by announcing he’s her boyfriend. She unwittingly opens the door for Mac to propose the fake date. Naturally, it quickly evolves into a real relationship.

I love that the fake relationship did not get drawn out so that we got a majority of our reading time with them as a legitimate couple. Mac and Fee are adorable together. They easily move into their relationship, and quickly grow into best friends as well as girlfriend/boyfriend. Mac has true Golden Retriever energy. He’s sweet, caring, attentive and supportive with a heaping side of dirty talk. Fee has gone through the death of her parents and in many ways is still grieving. With Mac she lets herself be vulnerable and allows him to see her sadness and help her through the tough times. She is an artist and though she’s weary of the public seeing her work, she carries herself with confidence and puts her all into her art. Together they are the perfect match.

I loved that there’s no real angst. Some drama, yes, but none of the typical miscommunication and third act break up that comes in so many other books I’ve read. Even better, when Mac and Fee hit their bumps in the road, they handle it with maturity. We’ve got plenty of hockey, funny banter with friends, sexy times, and cameos from many of our past favorite characters. I highly recommend reading their books too because they’re just too amazing to miss!

Helena Hunting really knows how to make me fall in love with an entire friend group. I was already invested in the Tilton U crew & this book solidified my love for them.

Mac & Fee were just SO sweet. They’re best friends who have both been quietly crushing on each other, neither willing to risk changing their friendship, until one impulsive fake dating moment finally gives them the excuse they needed. I also loved that the fake relationship wasn’t dragged out forever. We actually get to watch them figure out what being together looks like, & their relationship felt so natural because that friendship was already there.

Mac is one giant green flag. He’s sweet, attentive, supportive, an elite cuddler, & then the dirty talk comes out of nowhere. The contrast absolutely worked for me. I loved his vulnerability, especially when it came to hockey & figuring out his future.

But Fee really got me emotionally. There’s still so much grief underneath everything she’s building for herself, especially with her art, & I loved watching her gain confidence in sharing that part of herself. Mac supporting her dreams while Fee helped him through his own uncertainty made them feel like true partners.

There’s plenty of banter, mutual pining, spice & found family goodness, but there’s also more emotional depth here than I expected. I especially appreciated that when things got complicated, Mac & Fee actually worked through their feelings without unnecessary drama. I wish I was this emotionally mature when I was their age.

And all the cameos from Helena Hunting’s hockey universe made this even more fun (if you are a fan of her previous books, get ready!).

I did this one as a tandem read/listen & HIGHLY recommend the audio. Kat Auden & Alex Kydd were fantastic in duet narration, capturing both Mac & Fee’s playful chemistry & their more vulnerable moments.

Sweet, swoony, spicy & emotional, I really ate this one up. Now I just need Gage & Brody's books as soon as possible, please!

Helena Hunting did it again! This story was so much fun!
I am emotionally invested in the Toronto Terror/ Tilton U universe, I love these characters and their stories. This is a shorter book (the audiobook was ~6 hours), I don't think the story would have worked if it was any shorter. The fake dating situation started pretty early in the plot, and they didn't take too long before it was no longer fake. For the majority of the story the characters were officially in like with each other and not faking it. This worked because the main conflict between the main characters is about what does their next year look like. He is in his final year of university and hoping to play professionally but he is worried about making it pro as he is not having his best season. She is in her third year of university and studying art. Her family and friend group are all based in the Toronto area. They are both worried about if they can have a future together if he gets picked up by a team on the other side of the country or even in another country. Also the MMC is a virgin and that is one of my favorite romance micro tropes (more male virgins in romance books please)! I think that in order to best understand the FMC you need to read her sister's book from the Toronto Terror series, If You Love Me. Book 1 of Tilton U is also required reading before picking this book up, you get the full backstory of Cami's MMF LOTR Fic in Chase Lovett Wants Me and it is also just a really fun read.
I am so pleased that the most recent Helena Hunting audiobooks have been duet narration. This book is recorded in duet by Kat Auden and Alex Kydd. Alex Kydd has the perfect voice for narrating hockey players! It's a great listen, highly recommend!

I’m so glad I got an ARC to Fee & Mac’s love story. You get to dive into the Tilton U experience with a story of young love. Fee and Mac have been pining for each other since they met, but they both believe there is no way the other would reciprocate the feelings. Well little do they know.

Fee declares herself Mac’s girlfriend in a moment of frustration but deep down she yearns to be Mac’s. There are multiple times they end up staring gazey-eyed at each other wondering does the other want more?

They learn communication, boundaries, growth but in healthy ways and that’s something that I cherish in Helena’s writing. Mac learns he doesn’t have to be a pathological people pleaser. While Fee learns that other people aren’t responsible for her reactions and feelings of her parents’ death.

Overall an amazing angsty artist meets collage athlete who want to just figure out their future together. There are plenty of cameos of other characters from other books by Helena! I cant wait for the next story out of Tilton U!

Do they have what it takes not only to finally confess their feelings to each other but also to stick together as Mac finishes collage and Fee finishes her final year of university?

The only thing I wish was that there was more, as silly as that sounds. I wish there was more build up in the pages between Mac and Fee before they confess to each other how they feel. I felt like it was abrupt from the confession to the lets be official.

4.5⭐ Helena Hunting delivers another heartwarming story that will have you wanting to read it all in one sitting! Mac Meyers Needs Me is about trusting your heart to your best friend, the beauty of having a strong group of friends you can count on, family member you can depend on, and an extended found family that will show up for you just because they want to. I loved reading Fee and Mac’s story! It was fun and flirty. It had some heavy moments but in general, it was about 2 best friends who’ve been holding a torch for each other in secret for a while, and what they go through to finally get together.

And if you’ve read Helena’s Toronto Terror series, you’ll be happy to see a few characters show up here in this book. When I read about Fee’s playlist that included The Tragically Hip, it happened to be on the 10th anniversary of their last concert in their hometown of Kingston, Ontario. I had to stop to listen to some Hip before moving on.

I also listened to the ALC of this book simultaneously. This is my new favourite way of consuming books! Kat Auden and Alex Kydd. I don’t know where I’ve been, but Alex has narrated almost 300 books, and I’m not yet familiar with his work. And Kat seems to be fairly new to the industry. Both narrators were phenomenal in delivering this story. Mac and Fee had a shyness about them that I felt through Kat and Alex. I just wanted to them a little toe nudge to say, “go on, put yourself out there, it’s going to be ok!” And aside from that, Kat’s performance really made me feel everything Fee was going through. The good, the bad, the excitement, and everything in between! I’m going to be keeping an eye out for more of her work in the future!

I don't know what magic Helena Hunting weaves into every book, but they are addicting and so enjoyable! I was hooked a few chapters into this, and the audio was soooo on point. I LOVE Alex Kydd so I was excited to hear him as Mac. (You may have heard him narrating Consider Me, Becka Mack, Caught Up by Liz Tomforde or Pucking Around, Emily Rath?) It's all good, but I noted in my rushed notes (didn't want to stop listening to make actual notes!) that Chapter 11, when she's shouting advice to Mac while he's on ice is done so well, you can hear the distance! And at the end of Chapter 13 - the narration adds so much emphasis to that with extra expressive noises with 'the kiss'.

Both main characters were adorable, and I loved them together so much. You can relax in the knowledge that there's no third act breakup, but there's still a nice plot and best storytelling. My absolute favourite is the link to all the previous characters, not just from the Toronto Terro series, but also going back to Pucked, and excitingly even a link to the Clipped Wings series.

I loved that Mac was the sweetest gentleman but with top tier dirty talk! And it was so lovely to see Fee thriving and them both helping each other through life. The slow build of their relationship was lush and it was nice to read something where the guys are open about their issues and feelings. Having a virgin MMC is a refreshing change and the relationship progressing when this changes was really beautifully written.

I 100% recommend this to fans of a hockey romance, and especially to fans of the Toronto Terror series, one of my top hockey series of all time!

Mac and Fee have been best friends for years, both keeping their very real feelings buried because neither one wants to risk ruining their friendship. So naturally, when Mac needs a little help getting the puck bunnies off his back, fake dating Fee seems like the perfect solution.

Because fake dating your best friend-who you’re secretly in love with-always works out perfectly, right? 😂

The mutual pining in this one was SO GOOD. There were so many moments where I wanted to yell, JUST TELL EACH OTHER ALREADY!

But let’s talk about Mac.

This man has the filthiest mouth while somehow also being the virgin. Excuse me?! 😂🔥 I absolutely loved that twist on the typical hockey-player romance. Add in his possessive side once those feelings start coming to the surface, and Mac Meyers had my full attention.

And Fee wanting to draw him? For art, obviously. 👀🎨 Sure, Fee. Whatever you need to tell yourself.

Their friendship was really the heart of the story for me. Underneath all the banter, spice, jealousy, and sexual tension, you could genuinely feel how much these two cared about each other and how terrified they were of losing what they already had.

Then Helena gave us cameos from the Chicago and Terror crews, which made my longtime Helena-loving heart ridiculously happy. I will ALWAYS take a visit from old favorites.

This is the second in the Tilton University series and once again Helena Hunting scores a win.
Love this next generation story following on from the Toronto Terrors series. Ophelia-Fee is best friends with Mac Myer's Tilton University hockey player on the track for draft to the pro's. A puck bunny magnet. When yet another girl interrupts their work, Fee is so fed up, especially as she has had a crush on Mac for a long time. So she tells the girl that Mac is her boyfriend and Mac doesn't deny it. Afterwards Mac asks her to be his fake girlfriend to stop the distractions. Unknowingly both have feelings they are not prepared to voice.
Fee is an artist and exhibits her art monthly around the University anonymously as she's unsure if people will like it. Her vulnerability stems from her parents death and the fact, art was a passion shared with her mother, when the rest of the family were into hockey. Mac actually saves her art every month.
Mac is feeling vulnerable too, his stats have dropped after he bulked up and feels he won't get drafted. Fee spots him alone at the rink and because she's grown up around hockey, one sister a coach for the Terror and the other younger sister playing, Fee helps him change his stance to increase his chance of hitting the goal. Not only does she do that but introduces him to her famous brother-in-law Roman and other Terror players.
When a secret Mac has, is suddenly revealed Fee is hurt and asks for space, allowing them both to understand each other's point of view.
After huge success at Fee's art exhibition, fans queue to meet and get autographs. The artwork of Mac causes job opportunities and a reunion of the love-struck pair.
When the draft comes through they both get their dreams and HEA.
It was great to see so many characters from the Toronto Terrors series. Looking forward to many more books.

Mac Meyers Needs Me, Helena Hunting's newest fake dating, sports romance is everything! I devoured each and every word as Mac and Fee charmed me and captured my heart! Mac and Fee are both good friends who secretly pine for each other. When one too many girls hit on Mac, Fee pretends they are dating to scare them away. Mac loves this idea and asks Fee to keep pretending so he can focus on hockey but really so he has an excuse to be close to her. It is a win-win for both of them, and their friends also, who have always noticed the fiery chemistry between them. As they spend more time together, they have the same likes, complete each other sentences, and have even more fun together. But they also become the person they can lean on the most, and help each other succeed, from Mac's struggles on the ice, to Fee's art dreams. They really are perfect together and their chemistry is off the charts. I also loved all their friends, and family who added so much fun and humor to this story, especially Roman who made Mac so hilariously nervous!
This is my first listen to Kat Auden and Alex Kydd and I thought they were wonderful as Fee and Mac, delivering a performance that was completely addictive. Auden is a natural portraying Fee's playfulness, strength, and determination. Kydd's deep, raspy voice showed Mac's fun and swoony side, as well as his vulnerabilities, making him even more swoony. I really enjoyed both their abilities to bring these characters to life and make me love Fee, Mac, and their friends, even more. This romance melted my heart instantly with it's fabulous characters, heartfelt emotions and beautiful storyline. I was completely captivated and couldn't put it down!

I have listened the book in a day!
The story was amazing.If you are looking for a comfort read about sweet young love, this is for you.
No big drama, just big feelings and great communication out there.
And i love the fact that MMC is virgin (it is not spoiler because author herself revealed it on her insta) . It was refreshing to listen it from male perspective as well.
They both are quite mature for their age and the way they deal with things very impressive.
You can feel their character development through the book. Such a beautiful journey.

It was amazing to see many The Toronto Terror couples in the book too. Daddy Roman was my favourite and seeing him with Lexi and Ariel got me a bit emotional 🫠🫠🫠
Little Ariel was so cute 🥰

We also got a hint about our next couple for the series, i can’t wait ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥



Now, i have few more things to say about narrators.
Kat Auden was amazing as Fee. You could feel every bit of changes and feelings in her voice. I loved it!
However, i very disliked Alex Kydd as Mac. Very weird choice of narrator for Mac. Because even though he is a flirt, Mac is sweet/attentive/book boyfriend like young adult. Alex Rydd voice is more like “i am sexy and i know it” kind of man voice.
This is probably personal preference but i have never like him as a narrator. It feels like he doesn’t even open his mouth when he is narrating.
I have the book 5 stars because it is a book review. However i rate it different in audible 😬

Mac Myers Needs Me takes us back to Tilton U for Fee & Mac, a friends to lovers x fake dating romance! Now if you know my reviews, you know I love the fake dating trope, because it rarely stays “fake” for long, especially when they both harbor crushes on each other 😉

Audio: Loved this duet audio! Alex Kydd portrays Mac & Kat Auden portrays Fee, & they were a great duo! The banter, the chemistry, the emotions, & the SPICY scenes were so well done! They really played the parts & made for a great immersive reading experience!

Story: I think this one was so sweet, so cute, I mean I would almost say “wholesome” but then Mac opened his mouth & then it was NOT wholesome. PHEW! His mouth should be illegal for the way my heart hit my throat🥵

I love that he & Fee are such good friends, both are “secretly” crushing on the other, then the fake dating is brought up & neither let it stay fake for very long! I love their relationship though, the way Mac is so empathetic with Fee, her past, & how it impacts her in her current life. And how Fee completely respects Mac’s boundaries, supports his growth in hockey, & how they both encourage each other & build one another up, gah I was just giggling & kicking my feet the entire book!

If you’re looking for a sweet, feel good, hilarious book with a filthy mouthed couple (yes I said couple😮‍💨), with a built in found family friend group (& friend group adjacent! Helllllo Terror cameos!), this one is for you! I adored it & think you would too!

I was so happy to be back at Tilton U for this next installment, and I ate up this audiobook. I fully intented on alternating between the audio and ebook, but the narrators were just too good, I couldn't bring myself to switch, opting to listen all the way through instead.


I loved how Mac and Fee started as best friends with crushes on each other, while being completely unaware of the other's crush, and how it was fake dating that finally brings them together. I love a fake dating trope, and I loved how this one played out so much.


Mac's POV had all the yearning, my boy was down bad for his girl, and I adored all the sweet gestures he does for her, and how he's always there for her during her emotional moments without judgement, only endless support.


I was so happy to have cameos from the Toronto Terror series, it's my favorite hockey romance series and I always love when Tilton U and Toronto Terror intersect. Reading those first is definitely a plus for enjoying this one!


Fee was such a cutie, she cares deeply about her loved ones and it shows in all her actions, and I totally giggled when her jealous side came out over Mac. The whole story had me giggling and screaming, and the spicy scenes were so hot (even if our boy is a virgin) and I enjoyed myself immensely with this audio.


I need Brody and Enid to have their own book, and also Gage and his sister's best friend because I need more Tilton U in my life!

I love Helena Hunting and these books. This is literally everything I want from a new adult hockey romance. Mac and Fee are good friends and regularly hang out together with their group. Which means she sees every girl in their university hit on him unrelentingly and watches him flirt but not really seem interested in asking them out. And she has such a crush on him. And then one day, the interruptions from his admirers get to be a bit much, and she claims him as her boyfriend. Mac ups the stakes by asking her to fake date.

The book is dual POV, so we get all the yearning and interest from both of them. I love that structure with a fake dating, so we can see their internal thoughts while they are "pretending." The pacing was exactly right with reveals coming just when they should.

And the friend groups! I fell in love with all of them long since. I love all the group chats and banters. Everything about their interactions feels real, but also like the friend group I want to be a part of. It's aspirational goals.

If you are new to the world of Helena Hunting, this is the second in the Tilton Blaze series. You probably want to read Chase Lovett to meet Mac. But also, we meet Fee through the Toronto Terrors series. So on the one hand, this could actually stand alone, but on the other, join me in reading everything she writes!

I read the eARC in a day, and I fully expect to read the ALC before it's published. So I may come back and add to my review. But for now, I'm returning to my re-read of Bitter Sweet Heart.

Mac and Fee have been friends from the beginning, each harboring a secret crush on the other. Mac is a Tilton hockey star, a bit off his game trying to work on his stats to ultimately get called to the pros. He really has no time for distractions and wants to focus on his craft, only, Tilton girls are propositioning him for a date left and right. Fee is an artist with a secret identity who’s had a torch for Mac since the beginning. When opportunity presents itself, these two enter into a fake dating relationship to keep the female wolves at bay.

Not only does their plan work, but Mac and Fee’s chemistry easily grows from friendship to something more. Mac and Fee built a strong friendship, each experiencing things that altered their lives forever and only made them a stronger support for each other. How will they balance their new found feelings with the pressures of career and what the future holds for them?

Mac and Fee are the cute couple of this Tilton group. Mac blended in perfectly with Fee’s world. Their chemistry was fantastic and I loved the bit of a twist we got with this couple. Mac went from sweet and flirty to alpha male in zero to sixty. Their support of each other was admirable and game changing. This was a great read that I devoured in one day!

Mac Meyers Needs Me is a friends-to-lovers story about two people with a secret crush on each other who decide to fake date in this slow-burn, college hockey romance filled with found family.
Mac and Fee were a cute couple who ended up fake dating to get all the girls to leave Mac alone. He's a popular college hockey player, and Fee is an art student whose hidden alter ego decorates the campus with collectible posters and stickers she stashes in out-of-the-way places. They're friends who have crushes on each other but are afraid to say anything for fear of rejection. Both have reasons to hide behind fake dating and slowly learn they would rather be open about their feelings and build a real relationship. Mac finally admits to Fee that she is his first, and they slowly explore boundaries together. Fee's hockey background helps Mac improve his game, but she doesn't use her family's influence to do it. Mac wants to show his talent isn't waning, and he has what it takes to make it in the big leagues. But the summer is looming, and what will become of them then? Fee still has one year of school left, and Mac will either play hockey in Europe or elsewhere. Can they survive if they have to take their relationship long-distance?

I found this a light-hearted, cute read, filled with lots of yearning but not much angst, just about what you would expect from young lovers trying to find the one person who completes them.

It was so lovely to be back at Tilton, Mac and Fee were the cutest and this was such a feel good book. I really like this group of characters and it was so nice to see so much of Cammie and Chase again, along with the rest of the group. I am really excited to read Gage’s book next, I think we might know who his FMC is going to be and I can’t wait to see what Helena does with their story.

Having both of our main characters with unknown crushes on the other was a really great way to start this book off and the fake dating aspect was so much fun, especially since they were both giddy getting to be near each other whilst never knowing the other was feeling the exact same way.

I really loved seeing some of the Terror family in this book and even some sneaky cameo’s from other series. Seeing more of Lexi and Fee’s relationship was nice and to hear more about their childhoods, along with Callie’s was really important to understanding Fee as a character.

Mac is just the sweetest and I really liked how Helena dealt with various scenarios throughout the book with both of these character and how they navigated different situations and in particular, an unknown future.

I would absolutely recommend this series and can’t wait to see where Helena takes us next. Thank you to Helena and her team for an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

Mac Meyers is popular with the girls at Tilton U, and he has a really hard time letting people down. Ophelia has been crushing hard on him, but she feels like she’ll forever be stuck in the friend zone. When she finally snaps at a girl to let Mac eat his dinner in peace, Mac decides Ophelia is the perfect person to be his fake girlfriend and keep the other girls away.

The problem? Mac has a crush on Ophelia, too. He’s just afraid of ruining their friendship. He’s hoping that making her his fake girlfriend will give them the chance to turn their fake relationship into something real.

I was SO happy to be back at Tilton University! Mac and Ophelia had such amazing chemistry, and I loved getting to see some of our favorite Toronto Terror characters again!

This was a phenomenal book, but I did have one pet peeve with the audiobook. The male narrator’s extreme breathing kept making me cringe. After almost every sentence, there was a loud, deep breath, and once I noticed it, I couldn’t not notice it. 😂

That said, it in no way affected my rating because I absolutely loved the story and these characters! The female narrator did a phenomenal job, too.

If you love college romance, fake dating, friends-to-lovers, and hockey romance, definitely add this one to your TBR! 🏒

ALC Review for Helena Hunting and the BBB

This is the second book in the Tilton U Series. When this series came out I didn’t understand how it fit as we were deep in the Toronto Terror series. After reading (and loving) Chase Lovett Wants Me, it all came together. I love all the crossovers with the Terror series.

Mac Meyers Needs Me is the sweetest story of unrequited love between Mac and Fee (Lexie’s sister from TT - If You Love Me). If you haven’t read that book or the series, get on it already, you’re missing out.

Mac and Fee have each secretly had a thing for each other for a long time and neither of them has any idea. As they have grown into great friends, when can’t see him constantly being bombarded by girls. She decides to take action and the door finally opens. Mac finally has his chance… but so does she. 😉

I appreciated the focus on Mac’s need to have a true connection with someone before he was ready to be intimate. I loved his confession to Fee. It made the intimate moments even more special. They take things slow and it makes their relationship so much more meaningful.

The rest of the character are as amazing as expected from a Helena Hunting book. Gage has some incredible growth MMNM. I can’t wait to see where she takes him.

Our golden retriever MMC, Mac Meyers, doesn't mean to be a flirt around campus. He's just a super friendly guy who doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. He and his roommates, Brody Stiles and Gage Steele, and Chase Lovett (Titlon U book 1), are in their last year playing hockey for Tilton U, so they always get recognized. On one such occasion, while they're trying to study, our FMC, Ophelia/Fee Forrest-Hammer decides to save him from his legion of admirers and proclaims Mac her boyfriend so they'll leave him alone! Her sudden proclamation sparks Mac to ask her to be his fake girlfriend, something that each of them secretly wants to be real. Mac is so respectful of Fee. He listens to understand her emotional state and gives her what she needs, knowing that she's still grieving and coping over the sudden loss of her parents and the new life she was thrust into. Fee is down-to-earth and cherishes her friends since none, including Mac, try to take advantage of her relationships with professional hockey. I loved the surprises she springs on him, and the patience she demonstrates with him as their relationship becomes more physical. Loved their journey and what's to come in their lives!

Once again, Helena has delivered us a fantastic story! She never lets me down in the spicy hockey romance department. MMNM is no exception! I love the characters we have met in her other series as well as this one. Mac and Fee are so adorable together. They both are simple yet have so much depth to them and when they allow themselves to be vulnerable, they connect in a rare yet beautiful way.

Dude, Fee is SPICY! Wow girl def knows what she wants in the bedroom but is still respectful and caring enough to focus on her partners needs at the same time. I’m loving this side of Fee we never saw before. And Mac Attack is the man. He definitely had some growing to do in the boundary and openness department but he learns quickly and doesn’t let the hard things get in the way of his feeling for Fee. I love a man who doesn’t shrink at the smallest sign of a struggle.

These characters that Helena writes are ones you can’t help but want to meet in real life. There’s a way to connect with each of them and they feel real and not a piece of fiction. Her talent never ceases to amaze me. And she knows how to leave you wanting more! I can’t wait for Brody and Gage’s stories to be out!
