Yūsei Matsui (松井優征 Matsui Yūsei?, born January 31, 1981 in Saitama, Japan) is a manga artist known for manga Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro. He was an assistant of Yoshio Sawai, the manga artist of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (Shirota Masakage made a cameo appearance in Shinsetsu Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo).
This is a pretty eventful volume as we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, so we can answer the question some people might still be curious about at this point: will Koro Sensei destroy the world, or will his students (who love him) assassinate him?
This volume features the end of the Grim Reaper arc, some time for career counseling in Class E, where students work on what they want to be when they grow up. . . that is, IF they manage to assassinate their beloved teacher/career counselor in order to even have a future!
To put some perspective on this assassination project: The teacher has not been killed in 13 volumes of attempts, and we have 8 more volumes to go. . . It is September, and we have been told the world will end or he will die by March. You do the math, if you care, but this looks like a volume per each month of the school year.
This volume also features a confrontation between Koro Sensei and Nagasi’s mother, who wants her daughter to go to a better school. Nagasi loves Koro Sensei and Class E and respects her mother, but also wants to stay in Class E. Koro Sensei, ever the model teacher, encourages Nagisi (delicately) to stand up for what she wants, and to be her own person. Again, as before, the nature of true learning comes through amidst plenty of silliness; for instance, the conclusion to the school festival in this volume is fun, with an array of assassins and cross-dressing.
Can you take on the Grim Reaper and win? What happens WHEN (not if) a student actually accomplishes the assassination and wins the money? What's their path in life going to be? They have to start making decisions about their future now.
One student learns that they have to stand up to their past to give themselves a future.
The conclusion of the Grim Reaper storyline, the students of Class E receive career counseling, and the stage is set for the school's Fall Festival, with the rivalry between classes E and A set to be front and center.
And, if it's Fall, that means that the students only have until March to assassinate Koro Sensei. So this manga probably doesn't have too much longer to run, unless Matsui changes the deadline, which seems too much of a cheat to be likely. Just have to wait and see what happens, I guess ...
Oh, my heart. This volume provided a lot of back story on one of my favourite characters in the series, and now I want to squish the poor little kiddo and I loved seeing how that storyline was handled by the class and the teachers.
The takedown of the Grim Reaper is amazing! Not only is it an ingenious plan, but Karasuma's sudden understanding of Irina is an unexpected level of depth. Plus, the growth it inspires in her just shows how they all are benefitting from the Assassination Classroom.
I have been waiting for Nagisa's story. The first time I watched the anime, his backstory came as a shock to me, but also made his characterization so understandable. This is just one example of how carefully this series was set up and now the little details have a deeper meaning.
The end of the conflict with the Reaper is in sight as everyone comes together to fight one of their most dangerous foes yet which will change the rules toward assassinating Koro Sensei to protect the students in the future.
Back to a little normality (very little considering the teacher is a nigh indestructible monster) it is time for career counseling and we get to learn even more about the students including a healthy dose of insight into Nagisa who knows he has special skills and wonders if he should use his skills in assassination. We also get to meet his less then stable mother and I find myself curious how he keeps sane day by day.
Finally a school festival showdown is on the horizon where if your class wins you can even put it on your resume. With the odds ever against them will class E be able to overcome fate and win again against class A as they have previously? Only time will tell. :)
Favorite part is Mr Karasuma putting a beat down on the Reaper. Especially the finishing blow which I can imagine would take any man out of action if delivered by a fighter like him. :)
How did they just manage to have everything awesome on the mountaintop? Then again, against class A they need to have a little something something to win.
I appreciate Koro-sensei’s way of mentoring Nagisa, in that he wants Nagisa to think not only if his natural talents, but how he came about having those talents and what they can be used for to help others. I guess I’m due for some reflection myself 😅👍

Another solid volume of the series. I need to finish collecting this one. We got a lot of insight into one of our main students in this particular volume, and it was really interesting to learn more about them. Even thought it's been a minute since I have picked up a volume of this series, I jumped right in and enjoyed it.
Toxic parents... you can't escape them. But I must admit in this volume the parent is toxic to the extreme... so strange. It made the skill that the student gained from being around all of that awfulness so sad 😮💨 It felt real though, it was very well done in my opinion. A great volume!
I'm starting to get very bored by this. As the novelty wears off, it just doesn't seem as humorous. And it is very obvious the creator is treading water as the characters repeatedly tell us that nothing is going to happen until the end of the school term, another five or six months of story time.
I loved seeing more of Mr Karasuma in this volume as he goes head to head with the Grim Reaper, and the set-up for the festival is super fun as I love the storylines that have class E and Class A battle it out.
Způsob, jakým byly vyobrazeny zkoušky, se mi moc nezamlouval a tyto části mě ani moc nebavily. Naštěstí tam byly pouze krátce a jen dvakrát.
Hlavně by mi určitě brejlatá holka sebrala Karmu a to bych jí neodpustila.

Still holding the students of Class 3E hostage, the Grim Reaper watches as Karasuma comes to the rescue, seemingly undeterred by the traps the Reaper has laid. So then he unleashes what he believes to be his ultimate weapon – Irina! But she is also being used as bait, and he explodes the ceiling on both of them. Irina is pinned under the rubble, but Karasuma fails to be ensnared. Still in contact with Koro Sensei and the students, he explains what happened and intends to move on, but they plead for him to help Irina, explaining how she is still young herself and the product of her upbringing. He should be understanding and forgive her.
The Grim Reaper turns his attention back to his hostages and is shocked and dismayed to find they’ve escaped! But how? Frustrated, he detonates the collars around their necks. Turnabout being fair play, now Irina is being used as bait… for the Grim Reaper. When he takes it, Karasuma is ready, and now the two of them are going to face off! Will it be to the death?
Koro Sensei decides to play career counselor to his students, asking them what they plan to do for a vocation – assuming they assassinate him, of course. If they don’t, then no one has a future, do they? The students make some surprising choices, including Nagisa, who feels he should become a professional assassin!
Nagisa’s classmates and teacher are unaware of his horrific home life with his controlling mother. She decides she wants him out of Class 3E, for his own good, no matter what it takes. Not only is she abusive, but she has treated him like a girl for years, wishing she’d had a daughter instead of a son. She decides she will talk to Nagisa’s home room teacher and get him transferred to the main building, despite Nagisa’s efforts to dissuade her from going there. What can they do? Unfortunately, Karasuma is unavailable, and Irina is a poor choice, as they discover. That only leads Koro Sensei, which is cause for great concern, despite his attempts to disguise himself as Karasuma. During the interview, it quickly becomes apparent how unstable Nagisa’s mother really is. Just when it seems that maybe everything will turn out all right after they return home, his mother drugs him and takes him to the classroom in the dead of night, demanding her son burn it down with his own two hands! This can’t end well, can it?
It's time for the School Festival! Class A is determined to get revenge on Class E, and everyone is stoked to find out how the two rivals will fare against one another. Koro Sensei’s students feel they are at a disadvantage, being isolated on the mountain as they are. Who will want to trudge up there for cheap eats? But Koro Sensei shows them how to turn disadvantages to advantages! This volume of the series sees the students deal with the Grim Reaper once and for all… hopefully. They are able to utilize the skills they’ve learned from Koro Sensei so far and learn some more. We learn a lot about Irina’s backstory and what has made her what she is. It’s easy to forget she’s not much more than a child herself, one who’s had to grow up in a harsh environment and make difficult choices. Karasuma is beginning to change as well. Perhaps he’s not as hard as he appears to be. Nagisa’s mother is just nuts. What he has to deal with is horrible. I wonder if he becomes an assassin, will she be his first target?
I love the ingenuity of Koro Sensei and the class as they brainstorm how to do well in the upcoming festival, which continues into the next volume. This was a lot of fun, looking forward to seeing what they are able to do, and hopefully outsell Class A, even if they cheat (which of course they will)
I've missed this classroom of assassins. I liked how everything with the Grim Reaper was handled, as well as seeing a snippet of Ms. Vitch's backstory and how the class chose to forgive her, despite her betrayal.
I also liked seeing everyone think about the future and what they are planning to pursue and work towards when they go to high school. I wasn't shocked that Nagisa was considering a life of being an assassin, given his natural abilities. However, I wasn't expecting his home life to be what it was. It's really sad seeing how he had these natural abilities because he had to navigate growing up with an abusive, short tempered mother. Even the fact that he looks very feminine is very different now knowing why... I'm glad that he wasn't taken out of Class 3E (but also the mom's plan to make Nagisa burn down the classroom didn't make sense. If the school found out that he did that, there would be absolutely no chance of him being let into the main building. Honestly, he would've probably been expelled.) I hope he gets away from his mother soon and I'm glad that he decided against being an assassin because he wanted to use his skills to help others.
I'm interested in seeing how the fair goes and who will come out on top: Class A or Class E?

This one was a pretty good volume, as it brings the end of the grim reaper arc and brings in some more school life issues, such as career planning and high school entrance exams as well as a really good chapter about Nagisa's overbearing mother. I found that one to be pretty deep. One thing did bother me though- Shito Nagisa is his name and hers is given as Hiromi Nagisa when she is first introduced, yet throughout the rest of the book she is referred to as Mrs, Shito. Unless her husbands name was Shito as well, so it's basically calling her Mrs. Shito Nagisa? Yes, it's small but it bugs me a lot! The end of the volume was pretty cool, with another school competition between class A and class E, this time in their school festival. It will be interesting to see how class E does. Their ingenuity in finding what they needed was pretty cool as well. A fun series that has plenty of deep moments as well.
Again just a joy to read. From the art style, the action, how self aware it is and the bits in between the chapters.
I enjoyed the career day and seeing what the students want to do after, and if, the assassination of Koro Sensei. This series is constantly adding new dynamics to the characters making it such a joy to read.
Although a bit triggering for me aha, I loved seeing a bit more into the life of Nagisa as he is currently my favourite character. How he has been treated, and how it is affecting him now, how Koro Sensei helps him through that. I loved that whole section.
And now I’m excited for the next part, as it’s set us up waiting to see another Class E vs Class A action but this time through business. Feels like an Apprentice episode, exciting!

This volume brings the Grim Reaper battle to a satisfying and heart-pounding conclusion! IN the aftermath of it all, students are beginning to think about their futures and what they should do with their lives. In what to me up to this point in the story is the most disturbing character in the series (which is saying something) we meet Nagisa’s mother “Hiromi Nagisa”. This volume introduced her and made me ultimately hate her in the fewest pages imaginable. She really captured my distaste so quickly I would argue more writers should read this volume to get immediate reactions from their readers. The rest of this volume uses the pages to start setting up the next big action to try to take out Kori Sensei.
Horeeeee.... and the winner is...... You can guess...
Nagisaaa... Koro senseiiii.... Aku pada kaliaaannn... :D
Another fun read that concludes one of the most interesting fights to date for the series, with Kurasama and The Reaper, using every trick, skill, and advantage to prevail over the other. We get an introduction into Nagisa's home life, and why he seems so naturally gifted for work as an assassin. There are some major close calls and colossal obstacles to overcome (ones I wouldn't go near with a 10ft pole). The school festival is approaching and the next battle between classes A and E are about to begin.
They manage to escape from the most dangerous assassin, and now they have to consider their future (if they succeed kill Koro Sensei), however when Nagisa’s mother gets involved and wants to remove him from class E Koro Sensei has to pretend to be Mr. Karasuma (as the real Mr. Karasuma is away on business) it ends of working rather well in the end. But can they use the autumn festival to make more money than class A, they have a huge disadvantage as their stall has to be upon the mountain where their classroom is and it is a very far away to go.
