An Alpha Fighter Romance

Rex Latour is a dangerous man. The first night I met him, he beat down two guys for knocking me over outside of a bar, but he barely gave me the time of day. He's deliciously ripped, tattooed, and completely frustrating.

I know he's involved with some terrifying people, but I keep getting pulled back in by his perfect body and confident smile. His past is a blur of drugs, sex, and crime, and yet I feel safe and alive when he's around.

Rex Latour is bad news. He owes money to the Irish Mob, and they'll do anything to get back at him. Especially by hurting me.

So why can't I stay away?

I was provided an ARC in exchanged for an honest review.

There are many people who are going to love Kinged. Why? Rex, a sexy as hell underground fighter with a dark past. That alone will lead to many one-click buys on Amazon.

So why didn't this book rate higher for me? Darcy. Rex was right when he described her as a bored, privileged girl looking for some excitement. I still struggle to understand why Rex was attracted to her. I also like my heroines to play a little hard to get. Again, this is a personal preference. Others will love a heroine who is more than ready to get it on in the bathroom after her first real interaction with the hero. I guess I'm just not one of those girls.

***I was provided an ARC for an honest review***

Oh the ARC….how I’ve laid awake at night trying to come up with a system to rate these that takes in to account that I got something for nothing. I don’t want to give too harsh of a review (when warranted) as to completely lose sight of the fact this is in fact someone’s pursuit of a dream or too light of a review that’s its really dishonest and merely padding the numbers/skewing the star rating. What I came up with is a couple of things 1. Always thank the author (so B.B. Hamel thank you for considering me worthy of a free copy) 2. Always remind the reader that my review is 1 opinion that honestly doesn’t matter to anyone besides me so take it with a grain of salt. And on that note….here’s my review.

So I got to 60% and stopped reading because work got intense. I kept meaning to come back to it, the writing was good, the story the type I tend to like rich girl slumming it with Irish thug from the wrong side of the track, and sex…lots of sex. The issue is I tend to read books in one stretch from start to finish with no pause for real life in between, well there is a method to my madness & it’s because if I’m able to actually THINK about the story inevitably I start to take issue with certain things. When I found myself signing up for a 700+ page BR I knew this book was a DNF for me. Now let me explain why…

1. Darcy – we all have that stupid friend and if you were friends with Darcy she would be yours. This is not a story about people who are drastically different meeting and falling in love against all odds. I get opposites attract but that’s not this. This is slumming, Darcy was looking for a walk on the wild side and she got it. But she is doing it so stupidly that I take issue. Taking risks going to a bar repeatedly alone, without knowing if Rex is around, even after he has warned her not to. Listen I like that “D” too, and if someone knows how to lay the pipe like it’s their job I’ve been known to do and say some stupid things….but NEVER have I disregarded my personal safety.

2. Rex & Darcy together – this guy has shit going on. I never got that there was a true connection. He’d disappear, tell her to stay away, and then all of a sudden it was sex in the wild. I whole heartedly believe people (especially the men I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with) typically tell you who they are from the first meeting you’ve just got to listen. Rex constantly told her, I will put you in danger, I am bad for you, because of me you will be hurt and this idiot (Darcy) was still like “I’m going to show up at a biker bar ALONE looking for you when you go MIA for a week” are you fucking kidding me.

Listen my high school was riddled with gangs and let me tell you rule number 1 for being a gang members girlfriend is don’t go where he tells you not to fucking go. Darcy didn’t deserve a good dicking…she couldn’t follow directions to save her life.

I will say IF I had read it in one stretch I would have finished it. I would have had the same star rating (2.5 but I round up). The writing was excellent, I didn’t see any notable editing errors, the story is one that appeals to the masses (everyone likes a bad boy), there was sex and risk. Also again, thank you B.B. Hamel for the free copy.

"I know you didn’t ask for any of this. If I could change things, I would. But what I wouldn’t do is go back and never meet you.”

This book is just all-around wonderful! From the writing, to the characters, to the plot, to the way the story unfolds… there are so many elements to this book that all came together so perfectly. I haven't read a book that has touched me this way in a long time. There were a lot of things the author could have done and added, but didn't, and that made this book that much better (if that makes any sense?)!! In a lot of ways the story itself is not original, but it is because of the way it is written, the emotions I felt while reading and the magnetic characters that sets this book apart from so many others.

Darcy was not a whiney, angsty, "woe is me" woman. She was strong and brave, she was forgiving and loving, she was persistent and she didn't hold Rex's past against him. And she was everything Rex needed. And the way she saw him, the way she knew him was beautiful/breathtaking.

He was like a beacon in this grimy place, dangerous and wild but not dirty or grungy like the others.

Rex was an amazing hero, an exceptional character. He blew me away. I want a Rex!! He really needed someone in his corner, someone to be there for him. And he found it in Darcy. And then he thrived.

I felt terrified and angry and frustrated and alive, very alive.

I can't say it enough but this book was just phenomenal. A true gem.

ARC provided by author for an honest review

Ok so I definitely think that this book took a bit to hit its stride. After about the 50% mark everything smoothed out a bit and started to pick up. Before that some of the dialogue came off as a bit stiff. And I think there were just a few things that didn't work for me personally. I found the heroine a bit wishy washy, she would think something but then immediately go back on the thought and contradict it. And I hated, like hated with a passion Rex's nick name for her. If a guy called me spoiled like that I would punch him right in the junk. Hard.

I think this had the potential to be a really good book, it just didn't work for me. I wish there had been more focus on the Irish Mob and we had gotten more details. I definitely wish there were more fight scenes cause the one we get at the end was brutal and awesome. Probably my favourite part. I think that if I could have connected to the characters more I would have liked it more. But there were parts I enjoyed and I'll definitely check out some other books by this author.

I would say 3.7⭐️⭐️⭐️.

This is the first book I have read by B.B. Hamel, it won't be my last, however, she does reference characters from her previous book and I just wasn't enticed enough to go read it. Ms. Hamel isn't a bad writer, I can just tell she's a new one.

That being said I did enjoy this book.

This is a story about Darcy(the spoiled rich girl) and Rex(muscle for the Irish mob).

 photo image.jpg1_zps3ro7lje3.jpg

 photo image.jpg2_zpsl4mvzedd.jpg

Rex refers to Darcy as spoiled but she didn't come off as such. I loved both Rex and Darcy together and I loved their relationship. Liked Rex and I liked Darcy, even understood her thinking most of the time. Not always because she did have a few moments.

Darcy was raised rich, however when Darcy was in HS, her father's greed and lies her family lost Everything. Dad went to jail and mom split, causing Darcy to live with her grandparents and become alone. I think because of this Darcy has her TSTL moments but I felt for her. You can tell she is not happy with her life and spends most of it wishing and dreaming of other things. I mean this girl can daydream but I found that enduring. It helped me to understand why when she meets Rex she pursues him like a stalker.

 photo image.jpg7_zpsiqadnn7y.jpg

Rex is a bad boy. He is a recovering drug addict who is trying his hardest to clean up his act. He works for the Irish mob as their muscle and underground street fighter because he owes the mob lots of $$. Once the debt is paid Rex is a free man.

Rex and Darcy meet one day outside of a bar when Rex comes to Darcy's aid after some drunk idiots accidentally hit her and knock her down. Darcy seeing Rex pound 2 white boys without breaking a sweat intrigues her and immediately she wants and stalks Rex.

Here is where the story lost 4 stars. It could have been 5 but instead of a crazy story, filled with drama, passion and excitement the author took the easy way out and left it as a pure love story.

The Mob boss Michael does not want to let Rex free from his world. He finds out Rex and Darcy are dating and uses her to try and keep Rex employed. I'm not going to go into every detail because it would spoil everything but I will sat The story never becomes nail biting, hand clutching, everything is pretty tame.

I loved Darcy's crazy imagination when it came to Rex.

 photo image.jpg15_zpspfcoa4wa.jpg

 photo image.jpg17_zpslandfzxo.jpg

I also love that she never listens to anyone else's opinion regarding Rex. She decides she want him and that's that. Their story is cute. Fast read and entertaining, but like I said it could have been better. Still I read her next one.

I'm going to start off by saying that the last book I read put me in a MAJOR funk! I really tried to get into this story but I just couldn't do it!

There was something about the flow of the writing that was just sort of awkward for me as well.. The dialogue was a bit choppy & at 30% I was still bored.

The book received pretty good reviews so like I said, it could just be my book hangover from hell that killed it for me! This book may not have been for me but you might totally love Rex the fighter that is, of course, full of shadiness & secrets!

4.5 ENTERTAINING STARS

This book was out-of-the-blocks thrilling to say the least. The action and drama didn’t let up through the whole book. Powerful emotion and non-stop intrigue graced the pages of this intimate portrayal of two individuals just trying to find love and a place to fit in. Darcy moves to Philadelphia when a friend of hers offers her a job after getting bored with her life in New York City. And, then there’s Rex who is so far into his need for payback to an Irish mob boss that he doesn’t have much to offer anyone. When the two meet, it’s not without incident, and Darcy is attracted to the powerfully compelling man. He’s not her typical MO, but she’s more than fascinated with his handsome face and muscular physique. And, Rex is taken with Darcy as well. With her long blonde hair and mesmerizing blue eyes, she beams with wealth and arrogance. As Rex gets to know Darcy, though, he realizes that that is so far from the truth as to who she really is. She’s more down-to-earth and just wants to be needed. He, on the other hand, needs to get his life back on track. He’s been running for far too long and is all kinds of f**cked-up. When these two damaged people realize that they really need each other, will Rex’s harrowing past spoil it for them?

Loved this story! The two main characters were extremely likeable. I couldn’t help but feel sadness for Rex for not being able to drag his life out the debt that was keeping him down and holding him prisoner to a deeply disturbing man. But, meeting Darcy was a way to finally take charge of his life and get out from under Michael’s authority. Darcy was such a funny girl. She had a great sense of humor and a passionate presence. She just needed something more in her life, and Rex filled that role solely. And, talk about the intimacy between the two, wow!! Holy hotness!! It was definitely scorching!! I was more intrigued with this story than the first one mainly because it was suspenseful and not just romantic, which brought that edginess and raw grit into focus. While the story is told mostly in Darcy’s POV, we do get glimpses of Rex’s POV occasionally. I read this book in one sitting and was totally entertained with this couple’s story!

“He was my king and I was his queen, and those empty, dark streets were our streets. People like Michael couldn’t bother us there, not in our kingdom of darkness. I kinged him in my mind and made him my ruler for the night.” ~ Darcy (Chap. 7)

Wow!!! And, look at the cover!!! GORGEOUS!!!

This came as a free read at the end of 'Biker's Bride' and since the blurb was good I decided to give it a try despite the fact that I hadn't read the first book in this series, I'd actually downloaded 'Undersold' back in June 2015 but never really fancied it and since 'Kinged' is a standalone anyway it didn't matter.
Darcy moved to Philadelphia from New York three months earlier, her best friend Amy is engaged to billionaire Shane Green (story from previous book) and she's struggling to truly settle in her new city. On a night out a huge tattooed muscled hot guy comes to her rescue and she can't stop thinking about him.
Rex has had a difficult life and made a lot of mistakes along the way but he's trying to pull his life together and out from under his past and his debt, in Darcy he sees something he wants but knows he can't have.
Rex is fabulous but Darcy unfortunately is an idiot, I nearly stopped reading and should have stopped reading but I decided to continue since I liked Rex so much, I skimmed most of Darcy's bits.
While I liked Rex this book never really worked for me and it was more than just my dislike of Darcy something was missing.

I was kindly provided with a copy of Kinged to read and review by the author.

After having read Undersold and being absolutely sold on the fact that B.B. Hamel was one hundred and ten percent on my top authors list, I threw myself at the opportunity when she offered me a copy of Kinged to read. Favourite author, amazing synopsis? I was most definitely in!

Kinged is the story of Darcy and Rex. She has a good life, a good job and a best friend in the form of Amy from Undersold. But she is unhappy, discontent and just plain bored with the life she's living. Feeling the need for excitement she very quickly becomes fascinated with Rex and his bad boy persona after a chance encounter outside of a bar one night. He may be ready, willing and able to defend her honour but will she find that being near him puts her in danger and just what is she willing to sacrifice for a man that she barely knows?

I've read many an MMA themed book and many have the same storyline with very little originality between them, but Kinged had the very refreshing Rex. He was flawed when it came to his past, his awful drug addiction and the debts he surmounted in those years. But his ability to recognise his own dark past, his determination to stay clean and to put his past firmly behind him so that he could have a real shot at a normal future were what made him such a breath of fresh air and so loveable. The fact that he was highly charged with sexual tension twenty four seven didn't really hurt either. He was a man made up of many layers and the more B.B. Hamel peeled them back and revealed the real man than Rex was the more I loved him.

I had been with my fair share of guys over the years. But of all those men, I had never been in a relationship that lasted longer than a few months, and I was beginning to crave more long-term companionship. Maybe making out with a dangerous stranger in a bathroom stall wasn’t the best way to fall in love, but at least I was trying.

I liked Darcy, she had a very headstrong approach to everything. When she would throw herself in at the deep end, act before fully thinking it through and do something a little bit crazy and dangerous purely on the basis of want, I found myself admiring her even if I probably should have been dismayed at her. Her feelings and emotions were very human so it was easy to click with her. Rex often made light of her rich girl upbringing but at times she was such a 'girl next door'. Whether she was obsessing over sending a text message or craving a life filled with a little more variety and spice she easily came across as being a real life regular woman and it was hard not to identify with her.

The streets were dim, lit only at large intervals by weak yellow streetlights. Much of the houses were in shadow, and it almost felt like this part of the city was abandoned. I breathed the cool air deep and pretended like this was our neighborhood, and I ruled it alongside Rex. He was my king and I was his queen, and those empty, dark streets were our streets. People like Michael couldn’t bother us there, not in our kingdom of darkness.  I took a few quick steps and caught Rex’s hand. He didn’t look back, but he squeezed my palm in response, and we walked the last two blocks hand in hand. I kinged him in my mind and made him my ruler for the night.

This book was another stand alone and is closed so beautifully, the ending was one of my favourite parts purely because of how well written it was. If you like books with non stop action, a good strong emotional storyline and enough smoking hot moments to keep you squirming in your seat then this is most definitely the book for you and I very highly recommend it. B.B. Hamel has absolutely pulled another winner out of the bag and has left me even more eager for what she'll publish next. Thank you to her for my copy and for producing another one of my top favourite books!

B.B. Hamel makes the character introductions interesting and gets the reader sucked in from the very first page.

"Full lips that wouldn't stop, a body she clearly worked on, and perfect blonde hair."

Darcy has just moved to Philadelphia and is still trying to feel like she belongs.

He was tall, easily over six feet, and I could sense something dangerous about him."

Rex is surviving.

"I'm bad news for you"
"I want you anyway"

Rex and Darcy have a connection but Rex has a past and present that could keep them apart.

"Everything about her made my body feel like it was on fire, and I had never met a girl that made me so insane before."

Rex is determined to fight for his chance to be with Darcy.

"I was going to beat the living piss out of this stranger. I was going to beat him until he couldn't stand straight, beat him with every ounce of energy I had in my body."

Darcy accept who Rex is and understands him.

"Maybe my parents fucked me up a little bit, but whose parents didn't?"

Together they find happiness and their strength.

"I helped him hobble toward the stairs, up into the bar, and out the front door into the city I felt like we owned, our personal paradise of concrete and people and noise."

A fun quick read about a guy who does what he can to survive the only way he knows how and a girl who is trying to figure out why she is bored with her easy life.

Kinged was a much better read for me than Undersold. We see drama, mob-business and illegal fighting.

Rex was brought in to the Irish Gang at a young age and quickly got caught up in the junkie/muscle lifestyle. He got into some serious shit and is trying to get out. The only way he can get out is to pay his debts to the mob boss Michael by fighting his way out.

Darcy is Amy's best friend whom we met in the first book Undersold. Darcy has moved from New York to Philly and is bored with her job and life. When she meets Rex, she realizes that he is the excitement that she needs.

The two have an immediate connection but trouble seems to follow Rex wherever he goes. Darcy gets caught up in that trouble and things progress pretty quickly from there! Overall, I really enjoyed the drama. I am not a huge fan of mob stories but this one drew me in.

On to the next!

3.5 SUSPENSFUL STARS!!

I had really high expectations after reading the synopsis. This is the story of a man and a woman being what the other needs to complete themselves. The hero, Rex, I loved. He was relatable, and likeable. However, I had some problems with the heroine Darcy. She annoyed me. She didn't make the best choices; she just seemed to put herself in unnecessary danger. The two together worked well. The fact that I had such feelings about these characters is a testament to the author's great ability to bring the story together. It flowed nicely.

To wrap it up and bring it together, the epilogue was really nice. This is my first book from this author and I will definitely be reading more of her work.

I got given this book for an honest review.

The story of Darcy and Rex was great and so intense I didn't want to put the book down. Rex was a big tattooed tough guy who was mixed in with the wrong kind of people. when he saw Darcy get hurt and he came to her rescue Darcy couldn't forget about him and she would do anything to hunt him down and get his attention even if it ment getting herself into danger. I loved the connection between the two characters and what they both went through together. The story was gripping and I didn't expect some of the things the was goin to happen which made me want to read more. I can't wait to read the first book by this author and Darcy friend Amy. xx

I received this book as an arc for an honest review. I was excited about the excerpt, and couldn't wait to start reading.

After the first few chapters i found myself skimming & skipping whole paragraphs. I started just looking for the next dialogue to occur and then backed up a paragraph if needed. This is because there is more repetition about the characters history and their repetitive thoughts. The h thoughts take up more than 50% of the story and are really not necessary to the story. If this had been a series of books we may have needed a few reminders of some of the history from a previous book, this could have been a short novella.

I enjoyed this one. It has a good story behind it. Basically, Darcy moves from NY to PA and finds herself missing something. Not sure what it was until she runs into a hot stranger who fights for her honor. Rex is from the wrong side of the tracks but she can't help herself when she's near him.

I thought some of her concerns were valid. Although, she reiterated them a lot. That's one thing about this book that got frustrating. It was very repetitive. Darcy kept thinking about Rex's tattooed arms and how she couldn't wait for those tattooed arms to be around her because his hot muscly tattooed arms were hot.

Poor Darcy, she kept having the same argument with herself over Rex as well. What if this is the last time I see him? If I'm being completely honest, I was annoyed continually reading this over and over. We get it. We all worry about new relationships like that but it doesn't make for good reading when you keep seeing it.

While I liked the epilogue. The climatic ending was a tiny bit off for me.

Anyway, I liked the story. If we were able to minus out all the repetition I'd have given this a much higher rating.

I was dragged into Darcy's world and would love to know more about Amy and Shane. I feel like there is a story there that could/should be told. Never mind that! I just discovered there is a story there! I'm actually interested in checking it out. I'd love to know more about them.

**Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review by the Author**

This book was fascinating to me. I love reading books that have some spice, thrill, mystery involved and Rex -- oh my gosh -- Rex is just a man that any woman is dying to have. A tattooed, sexy as hell, dark and brooding type of guy who is a fighter.

Rex is a tough guy who comes from a broken life. He was involved with drugs, sex and women. He owed the bad guys money and he had to make up for everything that he owed the Irish Mafia who helped him out when he needed a home. He just wasn't expecting that he would have to repay it back and especially by fighting. But Rex had no problem with fighting because he was the best.

Darcy moved to Philly from NY and didn't know pretty anyone besides her best friend who was engaged to a millionaire. Darcy stumbles upon Rex one night and she just couldn't seem to shake him off since. She did whatever she could to try and see him again, she was relentless.

Rex and Darcy didn't seem to be a good match because they were so different but that's what makes the stories interesting. You can't always expect to have both characters looking like they came out of a GQ magazine. I mean, obviously that's what we would love to read and think it should be but it doesn't always work that way.

I loved both Rex and Darcy, they had great chemistry and I loved that Darcy was relentless and did everything in her power to go after what she wanted. She might have been born as a rich girl, but she learned to live without all the luxuries and was a regular kind of girl.

I totally give this book 4.5 stars. The author did an awesome job with this book and it held my attention throughout the whole story.

I was provided a ARC in return for an honest review.

This was a really good story about people who meet by chance, take improbable risks to see each other again, fall in love, beat the odds, and find their HEA. It revolves around Rex, a hardened bruiser with a good heart (but questionable fashion sense), and Darcy, a young unbelievably naive girl.

I loved the Rex. The depth of his character, determination, and badass-ness.
I enjoyed the sex scenes. They were hot!
I didn't like Darcy. Her character wasn't as developed as Rex. She seemed like the naive fluff Rex first thinks she is. It didn't make sense to me why he risked so much to be with her; nor did I understand her efforts to be with him against all of her better judgement. The "I need something to make me feel alive" bit just doesn't work for me for a character described the way Darcy was; she wasn't overcoming some horrific tragedy that would leave her numb. She overcame adversity, sure, but if the author wanted to justify her need for excitement and "more", she needed to make it feel more traumatic for Darcy.

Overall, it was a good read, that I would recommend with the caveat that Darcy will not work for everyone and his sexy talk might be off putting to some. For me it worked and now, I really want to read Undersold!

Kinged is a raw, gritty, honest and dirty romance novel. The two main love characters are battling the emotional and physical demons of their upbringings. I believe they both held their own within the storyline and connected to me on a deep level and their attraction to each other was sizzling on the pages.

Rex and Darcy are headstrong and their humorous banter towards each other I really enjoyed and put light to some dark moments. The fighting scenes were raw, explosive and brutal at times but I held hope for Rex and his need for a new beginning.

This is not a hearts and flowers romance, there are characters in this story that are rough and questionable on many levels. Her friend Amy and her fiancée who happens to also be Darcy's boss is a mystery to me, I so wanted to know more about them, really intriguing those two.

The whole story flowed really well and although it is not one of my favourite underground fighter style romance novels I did finish it in a few days and it kept me intrigued to the end.

Can I also say I love the cover!

Finally I find it interesting in the title on Amazon for this book the word "thriller" is attached as honestly there were some harrowing moments but thinking back I never really felt fear or was on the edge of my seat shaking for Darcy or Rex. I have read other books that I literally had to put down and find strength to pick back up as I have been scared of the outcome for the characters, did not feel it here.

Thanks for a fast paced story with some strong alpha males.

This is a great standalone novel, but i recommend Undersold( Amy and Shane's story). The characters are well developed, Darcy- a good girl with a normal middle class upbringing until high school, when her father went to jail and her mother ran away, life changed a lot!!! Rex - had a troubled youth doing anything to survive leading to becoming a muscle- ripped tatted street fighter to pay off debts owed to the Irish mob, as an adult. Neither characters has a poor me attitude about their past or present situations! Their chance meeting leads to two people from different worlds being drawn to each other like magnets, both knowing they were wrong for each other, but their chemistry had them seeking out each other regardless! She saw past his appearance, job and current situation, knowing he was a good guy with kindness and a heart of gold, but doing what he had to, to survive. He saw her strength, bravery and persistence to be with and help him-HIS FUTURE!! The story of their love overcoming all the barriers in their way, is so well written!! The moral of this story DON'T JUDGE A MAN BY THE WAY HE LOOKS!!! LOVE IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR!!!! This book is full of emotions as told by Darcy and Rex's POV!!!!! Worth the read, i recommend!!! I was given a copy of this book(ARC) for an honest review from the author and a member of DRC's Review Team.

I'm extremely surprised at all the good reviews this book got. I was expecting it to be more like the authors other works, but it wasn't. It was interested until the storyline changed and   it started to go down hill for me. After this point I wasn't really invested in the story that much. The writing felt kind of detached. Rex character was weak and left with much to be desired. He is one dimensional and uninteresting and he has no real character development. His motivation for being interest in the heroine is rather laughable. He was described as tall and handsome with tattoos and green eyes. Darcy was a new resident in Philly due to her job however; she was timid, weak-minded and a doormat with severe lack in her well-being.  I just didn't fell the connection between Rex and Darcy to invest into their relationship which was not a true. After reading to page 80, Darcy said her relationships usually last a couple of months at the most. She also stated around pages 105 thru 110, one of her relationship lasted a year. What a CONTRADICTION!!!! Rex had a history of using drugs and borrowed money from the Irish Mafia only having to repay it back by fighting. I have read many Mafia and MMA novel and I never really felt fear or was on the edge of my seat for Darcy or Rex safety.

*** ARC *** For an honest review

4 Stars!

First off, the cover is HOT! I'm a cover whore and have bought books in the past based on the cover but have sometimes been disappointed with the story itself. Not true for KINGED. This story is like an action movie. At every turn of the page your not sure what's going to happen. Rex Latour is an underground fighter. He's a deadly combo: dangerous and sexy. Darcy is not your typical female. She has balls. Huge balls of steel like the kind that hang from a trailer hitch. She's crazy and does things that most people would never do if in a similar situation.

This is the first book I've read by B.B. Hamel. They are secondary characters in this book that I later found out have their own story in Undersold. Although you don't have to read that book to enjoy this one, I really wish I had read that one first.

A solid 4 Star read for me.

I received a copy of Kinged to read and review by the author.

This book sucked me in and had me hooked and I just couldn't put it down because I had to know what was going to happen.

Rex was a great character. There was drama and action throughout the entire book.
The two main characters were very likeable. I kept feeling sad for Rex because of everything he had to go through.

Darcy was a strong character and always stood by him like a real woman would for her man. I was glad this book wasn't about a billionaire and a weak woman!

The story line was great and this book was written very well. Sometimes I did feel like all I was reading was their thoughts and not actual conversations but I guess it worked well for this book.

Loved how the book ended and Rex got his HEA!

Loved the story. Darcy was bored of her life. She came from a rich family but her parent lost everything. She came to Philadelphia to work for a company but was living life as it goes.. She met Rex at a bar after almost being stumble down. Rex helped her up and she had to follow him. She knew tattoo bad boy was not for her but she wanted to know more of him. I loved MMA fighting, bad boys but Rex was more. He was trying to get his life back staying away from drugs and paying off his debts. He didn't need to get involved with a girl. I couldn't get enough of the story. I wanted more from the ending but overall loved it. Definite a 4.5.

I was given an ARC of this book by the author in return for an honest review.

This was a GREAT book. Darcy is a wonderful female lead. Being raised rich, but loosing it all (including her parents) and having to fight for everything she has (from high school, on) made her incredibly strong and independent. It didn't make her happy, though. Rex is a guy who always seems to end up with the shit end of the stick where life is concerned. He's constantly getting knocked down. When these two come together it is explosive. This book has moments of insane intensity. The sexual chemistry is off the charts! I enjoyed this book from beginning to end.

Wow!! BB did it again!!! Rex was minding his own business walking about the city streets of Philly when he sees two rich boys fighting and one pushes a woman out of the way and she falls. Rex is not happy that they hurt the woman and decides not only to help her but to teach the two guys a lesson....After his man with serious muscle and deep green eye helps her up and punches not one but both guys out Darcy decides she need to know who he is and why he just did that....Rex doesn't stick around long enough for Darcy to talk to him and now she is chasing him down the street....Does Darcy catch up with Rex or is he too fast??

A very entertaining read, it has a lot elements that I like in book, there was thrill, action, a glimpse of history, a hero with a troubled past and present as well, a determined and brave heroine, hot chemistry between them and something that I really liked is that the story took place in Philadelphia, a city that I personally like and enjoy every time I have the chance. Good story, great characters and very entertaining.

Kinged Review

Darcy is looking for some excitement in her life. She meets Rex a sexy, tattooed, bad boy who is from the wrong side of the tracks. They have a lot more in common than she would care to believe. Rex is indebted to the Irish Mob trying to fight his way free. Will he win and be free or will the mob take out him or worse Darcy, the spoiled brat he fell in love with? A great novella by B. B. Hazel.......5 stars
