I read this because it came up on my FYP as like a sneak peak. Mind you what I saw wasn’t in the book?!? Anyway, I love a good mafia mm romance but this wasn’t it. I feel bad saying this but there was some inconsistencies in details that threw me off.
For example, when they talked about Rip’s tattoo his parents gave him they said it was on the ankle, then a few chapters later his arm and then a few paragraphs down his ankle again. I know that’s a very small and knit picky detail. But, little details like that throw me off when reading.
Some parts of the plot were great, but the writing just wasn’t there for me? 🤷🏼♀️
There was some interesting twists I didn’t see especially when it came to Tommy’s character and how he processes information that I found very interesting.
I also hate when books drag into multiple books without telling me so in the beginning. And maybe they did and I wasn’t paying attention but I don’t remember seeing that anywhere. I love when a book is over and done with even if it’s 800 pages rather than dragging out the same story into multiple books.

If you're looking for a romance that will completely consume you, emotionally destroy you, and leave you desperate for the next book, this is it.
The tropes alone had me hooked before I even turned the first page: MM romance, mafia romance, opposing crime families, touch him and die, lies and secrets, mental health representation, a fiercely possessive main character, and opposites attract. It honestly felt like this book was written specifically for readers like me.
This is Rip and Kingsley's story, and what a heartbreaking, unforgettable journey it is. Kingsley, the heir to one of New Orleans' most powerful crime families, is a man shattered by unimaginable loss after witnessing the brutal murder of his fiancé on what should have been the happiest day of his life. The grief, trauma, and emotional numbness he carries are written with such raw authenticity that my heart ached for him from the very beginning. Hoping to pull him back into the family business and back into life itself, his parents place him on the marketing team for one of the family's luxury hotels—and that's where he meets Rip.
I won't spoil the countless twists and revelations because this story deserves to be experienced with no idea of what's coming. Every secret, every betrayal, and every unexpected turn hit exactly as it was meant to. I was constantly second-guessing everything, and I loved every second of it.
The chemistry between Rip and Kingsley is absolutely magnetic. The slow-burn romance is perfection, simmering with longing, tension, vulnerability, and undeniable attraction. Rip and Kingsley completely stole my heart... and then shattered it into a thousand pieces. I became so deeply invested in their journey that by the final chapters I was emotionally exhausted in the best possible way. That bittersweet ending absolutely broke me, and I honestly wasn't ready to let them go. I closed the book feeling heartbroken, hopeful, and desperately wishing I already had the sequel waiting beside me.
The supporting characters deserve just as much praise. Thomas, Rip's brother, Kingsley's sisters, both families, and even Shawn—who constantly had me swinging between wanting to hug him and wanting to scream at him—were all wonderfully developed. Every character felt like a real person with their own motivations, loyalties, and flaws. Even when someone disappeared from the story for a while, they returned without ever feeling forgettable, which speaks volumes about the strength of the writing.

After witnessing his fiancé's murder on their wedding day, he's become a shell of the man he once was. Determined to pull him back into the family business, his parents assign him to work with the marketing team handling a campaign for their hotel... and that's where Rip comes in.
I don't want to say too much because so many of the twists and turns are best experienced blind, but the chemistry between Rip and Kingsley was electric. The slow burn was incredibly well done, building the tension perfectly without ever feeling rushed.
One of my favourite things about this book was that the romance never overshadowed the plot. The spice that is on the page feels meaningful and serves the story rather than existing for shock value. We know their relationship develops further off-page, but this is very much a plot-driven romance, and I loved that balance.
Rip and Kingsley completely broke my heart. By the end, I was so emotionally invested in them that I'm genuinely devastated I don't have book two sitting on my shelf ready to start. The ending is bittersweet, and I'm still heartbroken for both of them.

“MY PRINCE….. and MY DARLING”
LORD THIS BOOK WAS SOOOOOOO INTOXICATING. I couldn’t stop reading I legit inhaled it so fast I couldn’t get enough of this story.
Rip and Kingsley my freaking babies ughhh I love these two so much the way their chemistry was from the start to the end like I was in love and I was on the edge of my feet the whole entire time and UGHH!!!
Kingsley’s eating disorder I knew he had it by the way it was described and how he was feeling as someone who has had and is still dealing with an eating disorder this book really connected to me on another level and it made me feel so seen and I think that alone is powerful how Kingsley was dealing with grief and how he was dealing with it without eating and the fainting spells and sometimes only eating without anyone present or barely eating at all that’s how it is and I felt it felt so real and it really elevated the story and it connected me to Kingsley’s character cause I saw myself in him in that moment.
Rip ughh my baddie with a pierced tongue and d!ck like okayy BADDIE GET ITT!!! He was very cute and very intriguing from the very start his character was so mysterious and not with his British accent and how he portrayed himself throughout ughh he’s everything and his secrets BOYYY I WAS GAGGED LIKE OH MY GOD!!
okay let’s take a damn minute i was sobbing at the end CAUSE WHAT DO YOU MEAN LIKE WHATTTTT NOOO!! It can’t just end like that I need more I can’t ughh that last line really made me lose my marbles ughh Kingsley my baby boy I can’t you hurt my soul with that line!!!
LOVEE THIS BOOK SO MUCH THAT IT REALLY SUPRISED ME MORE AS I READ AND IT WAS VERY CLOSE TO HOME AND ITS JUST PERFECTION!!

I wasn’t expecting for Their Hollow King to hit as hard as it did.
I came for a mafia romance but stayed for Rip and King’s relationship. The chemistry between them is so hot it’ll melt your kindle.
Kingsley has a quiet exterior but is carrying so much grief, guilt, and pressure, and it broke my heart. The more you get to know him the more you see all of that. He’s grieving, questioning his own worth, and trying to live up to impossible expectations. My heart broke for him, and I literally wish I could have given him a hug. His grief and mental health was raw and honest.
Rip was the perfect person to challenge Kingsley. He’s loud, impulsive, protective, and says exactly what’s on his mind. I loved watching him slowly realize there was more to Kingsley than the cold, arrogant person he originally thought he was. Rip has a huge heart, and is so protective of Kingsley.
The banter was great, the chemistry was undeniable, and the slow burn was so worth it.
Overall, Their Hollow King completely exceeded my expectations. It gave me characters I became invested in, a romance that was spicy, forbidden, and cute all in one.
I can’t wait for the next book… because hello? The ending? I’m not okay.

I need the next book like yesterday!! I have so many questions, and I want more of Rip and Kingsley 😭. This book was different from all the other books I have read by Marie.
Kingsley, my prince, that man really showed how much he was in love despite never opening his mouth to say it. God! I love him. He was so heartbroken, and yet He went against everything for Rip. Rip better be on his knees for King in the second book. Anything less will not be accepted. I need top-tier groveling from him. I really like how he slowly came out of his shell with Rip around, and the fact that he doesn't realise he has an eating disorder breaks my heart 😭. He deserves better from his family and friends. They are holding on too tight to what their idea of him was before the incident.
Rip, our hotheaded enforcer. Initially, the fact that he was angry King was ignoring him was funny to me and the reason he gave... pfft, we all know that wasn't the reason; it is because you are attracted to King and couldn't stand being ignored, but it's okay. I don't trust Shawn at all; this might be me overthinking, but he is suspicious. Mateo was a real ally in this book. I have mixed feelings about both their families. With King, I don't think they tried enough to understand him, and with Rip, they are definitely lying to him.
Many questions are still unanswered; I can't wait for book 2.

Kingsley, my prince, that man really showed how much he was in love despite never opening his mouth to say it. God! I love him. He was so heartbroken, and yet He went against everything for Rip. Rip better be on his knees for King in the second book. Anything less will not be accepted. I need top-tier groveling from him. I really like how he slowly came out of his shell with Rip around, and the fact that he doesn't realise he has an eating disorder breaks my heart 😭. He deserves better from his family and friends. They are holding on too tight to what their idea of him was before the incident.
Rip, our hotheaded enforcer. Initially, the fact that he was angry King was ignoring him was funny to me and the reason he gave... pfft, we all know that wasn't the reason; it is because you are attracted to King and couldn't stand being ignored, but it's okay. Noooooo!!!!!!! All I want to know is how long I am going to have to wait until the second book comes out. I received an ARC of this book and this was also my first introduction to the author. What an introduction it was. This book had me captivated from the beginning and held my attention hostage throughout. We start with Kingsley Beaumont and his wedding day to his arranged match Sylvia Crenshaw. All of sudden a shot rings out and Sylvia ends up dead. We then fast forward a year later and Kingsley is hiding from the world. Enter Rip who has been hired as the new social media manager for the hotel, Kingsley's family owns.
The first half of the book is basically Kingsley pissing Rip off by pretty much just existing. Honestly it is the funniest thing to see Rip get so mad and all Kingsley is doing is being apathetic. Slowly Rip is getting closer and closer to Kingsley and getting him to open up a little at a time. What Kingsley doesn't know is that Rip is not who he claims to be.
Watching this relationship between these two is stressful because even though Rip is falling for Kingsley and vice versa, you know that as great as they are together, there are too many secrets and they aren't going to stay hidden forever. This whole time you are rooting for these two and the chemistry and spice between them is fantastic.
The fact that this book ends on a cliffhanger frustrates me to no end because I am impatient and want to have the second book now so I don't have to give up reading about Kingsley and Rip for any amount of time. I NEED them to get their HEA. I guess I will patiently wait for the next.

Kingsley is the only son and heir to the Beaumont Empire, but after his tragic wedding day, he doesn’t really care anymore. Poor Kingsley has been in a deep depression for a year since the wedding and has lost motivation and meaning in life. And what better way to fix that than a hot British guy who drives you crazy because he is a jerk and good looking at the same time. They end up having to work together and our constantly bickering, but that only makes them get closer. I really enjoyed the banter between these two and the sexual tension was great. Seeing Kingsley come out of his shell and start to actually enjoy life after a year of severe depression was quite moving. But knowing that Rip was sent to spy on them, I was preparing for a disaster and a lot of hurt. A lot of lies have been told and secrets made but even with all of that Rip and Kingsley still fell in love. The saying things get worse before they get better definitely applies here. There was some drastic decisions made at the end and I’m not sure where things will go from there. We will have to find out in book 2. Overall, this was a great story and I liked the characters. The plot is good. I am excited about the next book. I want to think the author for letting me review this in advance.

I really enjoyed the plot of this story and how the spicy scenes weren’t the main focus of the story but were brilliantly entwined within the storyline.
The attraction between Rip and Kingsley is so magnetic and by the end of the book I was so emotionally invested in them. I love how protective Rip and Kingsley are of each other.
I can’t wait for the second book to see how their story ends.
Some might say it’s a slow burn but I feel it’s a build up for what’s to come in the second book.
The secondary characters in this book like Thomas, Shawn, Odette, Aralynn and Ryland kept the story interesting. I hope the second book ties up all the loose ends.

This was my most awaited MM romances this year. I want to thank the author and the PR team to provide me with the opportunity to become a part of the ARC Team.
Although, I must warn the readers that the book ends on a cliffhanger.
I did not expect Rip and King to become such an incredible trophy on my Kindle. The moment I read the first chapter, I was hooked.
The story revolves around Kingsley, who is the heir to mafia, who's fiancée was killed in from of him on their wedding day, which breaks him. He vanishes from the public, and in order to get him back in the public eye, his family decides to provide him with some tasks.
This is where Rip comes in.
With a veil of secrets and lies, they do form a relationship.
King and Rip have become such a huge part of my Kindle now.
One thing I love the most of this book is that everything is proportioned perfectly. The storyline of King and Rip, King's past, Rip's past and intentions, literally everything.
The writer did a wonderful job-the plot twists, supporting characters, everything.
One thing I am not a fan of is this book hasn't even released yet, and I am dying for book 2...

I absolutely loved their dynamic. The slow burn development of their relationship was handled so well, with tension building naturally rather than feeling rushed or forced. Watching these two circle each other before finally giving in made the payoff so much more satisfying.
The color blind rep was a standout element for me. It added a unique and thoughtful layer to how Rip and Kingsley experience each other and the world around them.
As for the spice, it delivered. The dom dynamics were expertly written, and I have never read a "touch him and die" trope executed this well before. As an ER social worker with a background in crisis intervention, I found myself paying close attention to how possessiveness and protectiveness were portrayed here. Socray walked that line carefully, keeping it possessive and intense without it reading as unhealthy or controlling in a way that undermined the romance.
Overall, this was a strong start to the series. The characters, the tension, and the world building all left me wanting more.

This was a bit of a mixed bag for me.
The first third of the book was honestly hard to get through. There was a lot of world-building, introducing characters, and setting up the politics between the different factions, but it took so long to get moving that I found myself struggling to stay invested. More than once I considered putting it down.
But once the story finally clicked, I enjoyed it much more.
The relationship between Rip and Kingsley ended up being the highlight of the book. I loved the push and pull between them, especially knowing where their loyalties truly belonged. Watching them fall for each other while constantly carrying the weight of betrayal, duty, and family expectations made for a really compelling romance. Neither of them had easy choices, and that complexity made their relationship feel all the more rewarding.
This definitely isn’t a HEA, but I wasn’t disappointed by the ending. It felt incredibly cinematic, emotional, and perfectly set up the next book. It’s one of those endings where you’re frustrated it’s over but immediately want to know what happens next.
If the pacing in the beginning had matched the second half of the book, this easily could have been a 4.5 or even 5-star read for me. As it stands, I’m really glad I stuck with it, and I’ll definitely be picking up the sequel.

Kingsley and Rip come from similar worlds, mafia, but on different sides of the world. So, they know how to handle difficult situations, but they each have a history that is affecting their future.
Rip ends up working as a ‘fake’ media manager with his brother to ‘watch’ Kingsley, who is just starting to get back into the spotlight after his fiancé was killed on their wedding day one year ago. Kingsley is the silent observer type, but so is Rip in his own way. They are watching each other for different reasons. As they spend more time with each other, they cannot deny their attraction to one another, even as they both try to deny it. As things heat up, so do outside issues such as a mole in the Beaumont organization which has led to his sister’s arrest.

I really tried with this one. I made it as far as I did mostly because I had seen some spicy snippets on BookTok and thought maybe what was coming would make sticking it out worth it. Unfortunately, the sex scenes were decent enough, but there really wasn’t anything spicier than what I had already seen in the snippets. I had apparently already been shown the goods.
My bigger issue was that I just never bought the whole mafia vibe on either side. What do you mean you’re sending someone to spy on this family, specifically this one person, but they don’t really need to know what they’re looking for or why? This is organized crime. Could we maybe try being a little more organized?
Everything was screaming SOMETHING IS FUCKING OFF for so long that I honestly don’t know how nobody had figured anything out by this point. On either side of the fence.
And this is the first book in a duet, so by 77% you can absolutely see the disaster coming. Some really shitty stuff is clearly about to happen, both parties are going to get their hearts broken, everything is going to fall completely off the rails, and then I’m presumably going to need another entire book to watch them sort through the wreckage.

The book introduces a lot of characters, but I felt like all of the characters were important to understand the plot and everything that is going on. Even after having finished the book I still feel like there are a lot of things we don't know and I'm curious to see what answers we'll get in the second book.

I was so excited to receive this book as an ARC, and I could not put it down!
This book is perfect for people (like myself) who love all things secret relationships, the truest portrayals of touch him and DIE, crime families, strong main characters, spice, and the cutest & angstiest romance ever.
Marie Socray does an amazing job creating these two characters, Kingsley and Rip, and developing their story. Each character has their own struggles and distinct persona. Their individual personalities are so well developed and balanced along with the secondary characters.
With the dual-POV style of the novel, I loved how Socray’s choice of style allowed me to get an understanding of the characters in a personal way. Reading Rip’s commentary was hilarious, and Kingsley’s heart aching.
The climax of the novel, without spoiling it, literally had me on the edge of my seat. These characters are so personal to me and had me so invested, which is all a result of Socray’s excellent storytelling. The ending has me yearning for the next book ASAP!

This book is perfect for people (like myself) who love all things secret relationships, the truest portrayals of touch him and DIE, crime families, strong main characters, spice, and the cutest & angstiest romance ever.
Marie Socray does an amazing job creating these two characters, Kingsley and Rip, and developing their story. Each character has their own struggles and distinct persona. Some books pull you in with the romance. This one kept me turning the pages because I wanted to know what was coming next. And somewhere along the way, these two absolutely stole my heart.
This is the first book in the Bleed for You series, following two men carrying very different kinds of pain. Thrown together by circumstances neither can escape, they slowly chip away at each other's walls while darker secrets and unexpected twists keep raising the stakes.
I found myself completely invested in Kingsley and Rip from beginning to end. Kingsley is quiet and weighed down by grief and family expectations, while Rip hides years of hurt behind his anger.
Watching them slowly understand each other was easily my favorite part of the book.
The pacing never dragged, the characters had incredible depth, and by the end.... ugh.... what an ending!!!
I'm more than ready for book two which can't come soon enough!

Just finished reading " Their Hollow King " and let me just say: I'M OBSESSED. Even though I don't usually read mafia romance, I trusted that Marie Socray will write the kind of emotional story I prefer, AND THAT SHE DID! Honestly, I absolutely loved the story and adored the protagonists. Kingsley and Rip are literally a match made in he(aven)ll and that's why it's so moving to see their story unfold. It's baffling how they would literally kill anyone that hurts the other, but it somehow takes them so long to understand just how much in love they are. Though, this is what makes this story amazing...I don't need to hear them say these 3 words to understand their feelings, I can already feel it. Seeing how they slowly help each other heal and find a place to belong (each other's arms <3) was so touching... I'm cheering for them! I literally can't wait to read Book #2 of the " Bleed For You Duet ", where I hope to see them get the happy ending they deserve.

This was a really enjoyable read that took me a little time to find my footing in, but once I did, I was fully invested.
The pacing felt slow at times in the beginning, but the story steadily built momentum and became increasingly difficult to put down. The emotional stakes grew throughout the book, and I appreciated how the relationships and tension were allowed to develop over time. I got so invested in Kingsley and Rip’s relationship that I did not want anything to happen to either of them.

This book had me hooked from page one!! Kingsley and Rip have such a special place in my heart now and I can yap about them for hours on end!! I literally loved every aspect of this book, from Kingsley and Rip’s relationship, to the plot and the writing!! I loved how Rip never outright asked Kingsley about his eating disorder, or made him feel bad/gulity about it, when he first found out about it, and instead, brought an assortment of snacks; including pudding, crisps etc. and told him to “pick”. I literally swooned right then and there. Not only that, but Rip and Thomas’s brotherly bond is so dear to me, especially because neither of them would hesitate to save the others’ life; even if it meant jeopardising their own. Oh and don’t even get me started on the plot line!! I was shocked senseless when it was revealed that Thomas had actually murdered sylvie, as it was a mission he had to fulfill the year prior. I also loved the cousin bond between Kingsley and mateo. I’m now going to think about Rip and Kingsley every second of everyday, until book two is out 🥲🥲
(I do hope that in book two, we can get to know more about Rip’s parents, specifically his mother, as well as more detail regarding Thomas’s and Rip’s backstory before they were both adopted as Redgraves).

Let me start by saying the worst thing about this story is that I finished it and now have to wait for book two.
Rip and King's relationship goes to show that opposites do infact attract. Each giving each other something that both need. For King it's someone he can be true self around and not have to put on show while still attempting to cope with what happened to ex. For Rip King is the calm to his storm, he always knows how to keep Rip level.
While this relationship was built on a series of lies they both effected each other in postive way weither they choose to admit it or not.
While this story focuses mostly on Rip and Kings story I can't help but think that Shawn is going to play a larger roll in book two maybe? His behavior is borderline sus and leads me to believe he has secrects of his own.
With that said i wouldn't say this is slow burn,but just the temp and look foward to book two.

I absolutely adore this book I need more I have to know what happens after that ending. I just finished reading "Their Hollow King", and let me tell you it was everything. I honestly felt bad for both men they both had been assigned this role that was impossible and it felt like everything was working against them. Yet in a way they are the same both want to protect their families and fulfill the duties that they are given. The one good thing in their lives is each other but even that isn't safe or what it seems. Rip has a hidden agenda and when King finds out it has the ability to destroy him. The way the characters grow and change from page to page I love it and to see just how King had changed and to see the power of love. Rip and King love each other and maybe one day they will be. I cannot wait for book two and see just what is waiting for this two men.

I went into it with very few expectations, but OMFG! it exceeded every single one of them.
Kingsley is incredibly serious for someone his age, and the only person capable of bringing him out of his shell is Rip.
Rip enters Beaumont House in disguise, carrying countless secrets and fully intending to break the heir to the Beaumont legacy—Kingsley. But he never stood a chance against him. Instead of breaking Kingsley, he found himself falling for him.
The push and pull between them, the slow unraveling of their walls, and the sizzling chemistry were everything I live for! Every interaction had me HOOKED!
I can't wait to pick up the next book and have my heart broken only for it to be put back together all over again.

This was my first male same-sex romance, and I really enjoyed it. The slow-building chemistry made the book exciting and definitely left me hot under the collar during the intimate scenes!
The author developed the relationship and the characters’ backstories at a good pace, allowing you to really get to know them. During the first half of the book, though, I did wonder why King was so upset about his fiancée dying when theirs had been a marriage of convenience.
I was surprised that the story touched upon eating disorders, but I felt this could have been explored more. As it was, I wasn’t sure what it added to the story, and it felt a little unnecessary.
I can’t wait to see how King and Rip’s relationship develops and how they navigate their family secrets.
