'Anthony' is the fifth book in Kathi S. Barton's "Bentley Legacy". If you've been following the series then you know Anthony, aka Tony, has really been the quietest one so far and the most like his Grandda. No one in the family knows he found and lost his mate ten years ago when she was murdered. Tony has lived with the hole in his heart all this time knowing he's destined to be alone for the rest of his life. He's a small animal veterinarian and until now has lived in an apartment. Flying home to Ohio from a seminar in Florida he's set upon by a small girl, Amanda aka Mandy, who fills him with her happy voice but a sad, startling list of facts about her great-aunt Carol. Unfortunately, the child's mother and sibling died in a car accident some years back and her dad, Sheppard, is in the Army. Come to find out, the child's great-grandmother, Bethany, is a friend of the Bentley family and she's to meet the girl at the airport. Of course, Tony gets ahold of his family so that a coat, hat, gloves, and boots are there for her when they arrive since Mandy is not only dressed for the warm Florida weather but in sandals as well. Sheppard has a sister named Coleen who has her own problems. She thought she was divorced but once the man died, a team of lawyers has informed her that she was not only not divorced but she owed over one-hundred-fifty-three-thousand dollars in debt from him plus bills he had taken out in her name along with expenses from the wake, funeral, and burial. She's had to sell her house and almost everything she owned to pay what few bills she could and is now going to her grandmother Bethany's house to try and start over. Fortunately, she's a trained chef and Grandda owns a restaurant but that's going to be a meeting of the minds. She's untrusting of men after all this and who can blame her? Tony is going to have his work cut out for him.

The thing I love about Kathi's books is that they are all about family and friends. They stand behind each other through whatever is going on. They support them. They will give you the shirt off their back. If you are a half way decent person they will help you with whatever you need.

Coleen vows to never trust a man again due to the manipulations and actions of Micky, the man she thought she had divorced. Unfortunately, she discovers she's still married to him upon being notified of his death, and his debt. Coleen has one choice as to her next course of action and that's going to Ohio and moving in with her Grandma, Bethany, until she can afford her own place, which thanks to Micky, will be a long time before that's even possible. At least she'll be able to see her Grandma and spend time with Amanda, her brother, Sheppard's, daughter, plus, she knows her Grandma could use the help with Amanda until Sheppard returns from his deployment.
Tony, recently having moved into his own house, isn't feeling the holiday spirit and is in fact, not really sure what he is feeling. He does know that something is bothering his brother, Micah, and that he's concerned for Bethany as he knows she's worried for her granddaughter, Coleen, and all she's suffered lately. He's also feeling a little left out as his brothers have begun finding their mates, starting their own families, because he knows he'll never be able to do that, having already met and lost his mate ten years ago.
Coleen is highly suspicious upon hearing all the things Tony, and his family, have done for her Grandma and niece. Thanks to Micky she doesn't trust anyone to not have an ulterior motive, no one does anything just to be nice. As she meets the family one by one, her suspicions dissipate some, but then she meets Tony and at first believes he'll try to treat her as her ex did.
What happens when Tony, upon first meeting Coleen, realizes she's his mate? Will Coleen understand that not every man is like Micky? Will she give Tony a chance? Delicious!
I thought that this book was very good in its plot as there were a lot of wrongs that were made right when Coleen showed up in the Bentley's home town.
Anthony or Tony as everyone calls him is a small animal vet & is currently building a place for his own practice. Tony, on his way back from a conference in Florida met a little girl named Amanda or Mandy as she was called; she was put on the plane by her very mean great aunt & was going to live with her great grandma.
Coleen was scammed by a law firm in Vegas but she doesn't know it yet; she is moving to Ohio to live with her grandma who is the same lady that Mandy went to live with. But, Coleen was leary of the things that the Bentley's have done for her family & wasn't to sure if she likes them.
Oh & Tony also had a mate along time ago but before he could actually make her his she died & he didn't think that he would get another. So, he was really shocked when he met Coleen.
But, you'll have to read the book to find out what all happens in this book; I put delicious as my title because of all the good in this book made me hungry & I think that I would have (of I could have jumped into this book) liked to have tried everything meal that was described in this book.

Another fun book to add to a great series. Colleen is quite a character, she comes off as timid, shy and unstinting but she has a core of strength that she can call upon when she needs it. Tony seems to be one of the quiet Bentley brothers, he is the veterinarian and he has a big heart. Colleen needed saving and Tony needed to save her, the fit together really well. I love that the male characters get such interesting women, they add spice to the storyline and keeps things hopping. Interacting with the other family members keeps us updated on what is going on in the family and draws you farther into the combined storylines and plots. As always there are plenty of twist and turns to keep you turning the pages making you wonder if there really are such bad people out there. To make things interesting we always get something unique at the end, wetting your appetite and raising your curiosity as to what will happen next in this exciting series.

Coleen Greer's life is left in ruins. Thinking she was rid of her ex-husband for good. Only to be told the divorce papers were fake and she now is stuck with the debt of her now deceased hubby. So now Coleen has major trust issues.....especially when it comes to men.
Anthony Bentley a veterinarian and a panther-shifter recently admitted to his mother that he was lonely. Having lost his mate 10 years ago, Tony just figured he'd always be alone. Little did he know the smart-mouth feisty new chef at a friends restaurant was his mate.....his lonely days were over. All he had to do was convince her of that.....yeah right!
This was a sweet shifter love story. I love how this series has so many other supernatural characters to add to the excitement.....you'll see fairies, vampires, witches and wolf-shifters. Magic....let's not forget this book series has lots of magic in it. I for one would just love to simply think of something you needed or wanted and have it appear right before your eyes.

Love the Bentley's
I love the Bentley's. Coleen has had a rough life. Her mother was a drinker and often left her and her older brother with her abusive aunt. The only peace and love they had was the times they were with their grandmother. Now her grandmother needs help caring for her brothers, who is a soldier, young daughter. Coleen is drowning in debt run up by her deceased husband.
Anthony and his family have adopted little Mandy and her grandmother. They are working hard to get Mandy's father home for Christmas and her Aunt safely from Las Vegas to Ohio.
When Coleen learns of the Bentley's she is suspicious, no one she knows gives like they do and want nothing in return.
When Coleen meets the Bentley family, she gets her dream job as a chef and a mate, in Tony, a small animal Vet.
A crazy Aunt with entitlement issues, some sleazy lawyers that Joey and Chris get to take down. The Bentley's doing what they to best, taking care of each other and their community. Can't wait for Garth's story.

An amazing book!!
How to start this review?? Kathi has brought this story to life within my imagination as she has an amazing writing style that is easy to follow and allows the story to flow.
Coleen is a quiet sit back and observe person but is loyal to her family and has sworn off men.
Anthony or Tony to his family and friends is a laid back kind of guy who is a vet and is setting up a new veterinary.
Tony is helping out a family friend by getting a phone to their granddaughter as she has to stay with them due to financial problems.
Coleen fights all her feelings for Tony after meeting him for the first time after securing a job with Tony's grandfather without realising who he was.
Like all new relationships theirs started out rocky but love always seems to win the battle.
I don't want to give too much away within this review as it will take away the adventure that Kathi takes you on.

Coleen was out of options - due to an unfortunate marriage and then thinking she was divorced she was in debt up to her eyes because of her "ex" husband - she had no choice to move back in with her grandmother and help her with her niece until she got back on her feet.
Anthony (Tony) Bentley knew that Bethany's granddaughter was having problems and coming home. He helped Bethany get in touch with her - what he didn't know was that she was his mate. He has his work cut out for him to get her to trust a man again.
