Charles Michael Bryant--Charlie-bear to his parents--is nine months old and suffers from that age-old and worrisome condition known as colic. The doctors say he'll grow out of it. His father, Sam, wishes he would go ahead and do so...and his mother, Faith, just wants a good night's sleep. It isn't gas that is keeping Charlie-bear awake, nor is it heartburn, reflux or a wet diaper. Charlie-bear has drawn the attention of Wicked...a nasty, nightmarish character who moves as a shadow, speaks only in rhyme and steals the souls of children. He is a monster which uses his wicked talents to create more nightmares...like himself. As Charlie-bear's symptoms grow worse, his father begins to believe something else is wrong. Something a doctor cannot cure...and there's a crazy vagrant who shows up in Sam's driveway that might just prove him right.
Just write! Dan writes. Well, actually, he types... so he's more of a typist than a writer. If he's any good at it is really up to you, and none of his business.
Leave a review, seriously, it's okay.
Dan lives in small town Midwest and writes and makes short films. He owes his imagination to his two beautiful children, and the guts to put it out there to a loving...and patient wife.

All babies cry. But what if some have a really good reason to do so? Don’t you just love it when a perfectly random kindle free turns out to actually be good? And not just good…wicked. Never read the author, don’t especially care for babies, but this tale of a jaunty rhyming demon out to possess the innocent tiny people was lots of fun. Surprisingly good writing, even decent editing with a word omitted here and there, original and entertaining take on parents’ nightmare. Quick and freaky. Read in the dark for maximum effect. Recommended.
I loved this little novella! I got a free Audible code for it on Reddit. It was a fun, modern take on classic horror stories. I think the novella does great on its own, but it would also be super fun as a full length novel!
