“mia is the girl who never fails to hold back what she wants to say or how she’s feeling.”

mia and oliver are two of my favourite main characters, and i may be biased because i beta read this book, but they’ll absolutely be your favourites, too. they’re explosive and messy, yet they make so much sense together, and will have you on the edge of your seat (or shower) for how utterly sexy they are.

mia is chaotic, loud, and so full of love. she truly is the definition of a cherry bomb in the best possible way. not to mention her attitude toward men, which is insanely iconic. book one gives you a glimpse of who mia is as a character and what kind of friend she is to aj, but this book will make you fall in love with her big sunshine heart and make you want to become her friend. her whole personality is infectious

oliver is my favourite sad boy. he’s hurting and healing all at once, and still has so much love for mia despite it all. he’s a character who grows, especially from book one. we get a glimpse of him there, but it’s nothing compared to what we get into in bad habit. if you were lured in by him in fragmented desires, prepare to be obsessed with him by the end of this one.

don’t just read this one for mia and oliver, though, there’s so much more inside that you’ll be yearning for (i’m looking at you, eddie).

to put them simply, everyone deserves a friend like mia in their corner, and everyone deserves someone as down bad for them as oliver is for mia.

mk, i’m so proud of you and so grateful to have been a part of your second book. thank you for everything, always <3

This book requires a level of editing that is difficult to address fully in a single review.

I genuinely wanted to enjoy it, and I believe the story had potential. Unfortunately, the execution made it challenging to read. Nearly every page contains repeated words and ideas—sometimes multiple instances within the same paragraph—which makes the prose feel unnecessarily redundant.

Although I do not believe every moment must strictly follow the “show, don’t tell” rule, many actions and observations are described in such a literal, mechanical way that the narration often feels robotic. For example:

“She’s wearing a sports set like AJ normally wears but her hair is up in a ponytail today.”

“You don’t like the smell of vanilla?” I ask her. Her eyes are such a perfect mix of all the colors today.

“Mia scrunches her nose as she picks up AJ’s coffee and hands it to me followed by my own coffee.”

Several passages also repeat the same word multiple times in quick succession. In one paragraph, for instance, the word “counter” appears three times. This is only one example of a much broader issue with repetition throughout the book, like in one sex scene, "nipple" is said three times.

The paragraph structure also needs significant attention. Many long paragraphs contain multiple speakers, actions, or shifts in focus and should have been divided for clarity and readability. There are also frequent punctuation errors, including periods where commas are needed, as well as noticeable shifts between past and present tense. One example is: “I missed the cherry smell but something about her smelling like me made my blood pulse differently,” followed immediately by narration in the present tense.

My concerns extend beyond the technical issues. I have no problem with imperfect or flawed female characters—in fact, I usually prefer them—but some of Mia’s behavior is presented as bold or empowering when it reads as immature and needlessly cruel. In the scene I mentioned earlier and highlight below, Mia appears and, seemingly out of nowhere, remarks that another woman smells like vanilla before allowing her jealousy to shape the way she treats her. Because the woman is only identified by name in this exact scene when Mia is leaving, I cannot be certain whether she appears elsewhere in the book, but this is not the first time Mia behaves in an off-putting or hostile way toward another woman. Deliberately mistreating someone to make herself feel better is not empowering, nor is it the kind of messy but compelling jealousy I enjoy in fiction. It also undermines the novel’s found-family element: why should I care that Mia has close female friendships when she treats women outside her circle with such hostility? Her behavior is framed as evidence that she is unapologetically “too much,” but there is a meaningful difference between being outspoken and bullying someone who has done nothing to deserve it. Moments like this made Mia deeply unsympathetic and increasingly difficult to root for.

The example:

I can see the other blonde, I don’t even know her name, putting lids on the cups. I wait until the last second before she places the cups down to give Mia her answer. “You know I don’t.” I admit softly.  “Perfect!” She chirps and leans over the counter. As in her whole body is over the counter and her head is now under the counter top. She nearly falls backward when she straightens herself back out and I have to steady her. The other girl is still lingering by the counter and she gives me a sweet smile which I do not return. “Bye Miranda.” Mia dismisses her and the look on the girl's face is honestly comical. Mia uncaps a sharpie and starts scribbling on the side of my cup.
“What are you doing?” Miranda sounds very offended, but Mia just blows her a kiss and then shrugs. “He doesn’t like vanilla.” Mia scrunches up her nose as she picks up AJ’s coffee and hands it to me followed by my own coffee. It's already a little sweaty on the side but I can see the messy scribbled out phone number. She is jealous.

I could understand this characterization in a story that intentionally examines insecurity or unhealthy behavior, but that does not appear to be what this book is doing. I discovered the novel through the author’s discussions of mental health and her commitment to making readers feel safe and represented in her books. Against that backdrop, it was especially disappointing to see the main character display unprovoked hostility toward other women seemingly for the sake of male attention and validation. To me, that behavior felt fundamentally at odds with the inclusive and supportive message through which the book was promoted.

I wish the author well, especially as this appears to be only her second book. There is potential here, and I hope she continues developing her craft and considers working with a different editor for future releases. Unfortunately, the extensive prose, structural, and continuity issues prevented me from enjoying the book, while the characters—particularly Mia—were so consistently unlikable that I found it difficult to remain invested in their story. Flawed characters can be compelling, but their hostility felt especially jarring because it directly contradicted the inclusive, supportive reading experience the author has promoted her books as providing. That disconnect may leave readers feeling blindsided, as this is not necessarily the kind of story or characterization they believed they were signing up for when they downloaded the book. Ultimately, I wish I had stopped reading earlier.

The author describes her work as “gritty romance for lover girls,” but this book ultimately made it clear that she is not the author for me. I can appreciate romance that is raw, messy, and populated by deeply flawed characters. However, if “gritty” in this context means repeatedly portraying women mistreating other women without provocation simply to secure male validation or make themselves feel better, then it is not the kind of grit I want from a romance. That dynamic did not make the characters feel complex or compelling to me; it simply made them difficult to like.

wowowow I love this book so much.

it’s impossible not to fall in love with both main characters in this book. every single scene and page had me obsessing over them as characters and a couple more and more. mia is carefree and chaotic and loves loudly, and one of my favourite fictional rays of sunshine. oliver has so many sides to him, truly love the depth to his character. he’s absolutely one of my favourite book boyfriends from here on out.

this book. I could write pages and pages about how much I loved this one and physically couldn’t put it down from page one. not only does it have one of my favourite romances between oliver and mia, it shows the beauty of female friendship between mia & aj.

I want to tell you drop everything pick this one buuuut, it is book two in the west haven series. so drop everything and pick up book one, fragmented desires and then go straight into bad habit.

and if you need further convincing, pick up this series if you love:
🍒 found family
🍒 boxing romance
🍒 he falls first (and hard)
🍒 complex family issues

brb, gonna make a cherry margarita bc I’ve been craving one since I read this.

thank you thank you m.k. jensen for allowing me to read bad habit before its release. such an honour 🫶🏼

Bad Habit, book 2 in the West Haven series, was everything I hoped it would be! It’s sexy, full of hot characters (I mean triplets?? Please), the beautiful found family moments continue to hold special places in my heart, and the mental health rep is so relatable and realistic. Oliver and Mia are perfection and they are absolutely perfect for each other.

Mia is sunshine reincarnate, the type of friend who will love you out loud and you’ll never doubt where you stand with her. The loyalty and love in her run so deep. Oliver is multifaceted man, who will not only keep your heart safe with him, but also your entire life. He’s so steadfast in his feelings for Mia, you cannot help but swoon for him. The way he sabotages every one of Mia’s dates, like hello sir stop being so hot! There were some scenes in this book that will live rent free in my head forever. I’m looking at you cherry stem scene 🥵👀❤️‍🔥

On top of that, he’s our resident sad boy, searching for his purpose within his family and within the world. Falling in love with his character was truly inevitable. Easily in my top 5 book bf’s.

Bad Habit will have you falling in love with the west haven family that you’ll never want to leave this world. I love that you can find something in each character that you can relate to. Thank you so much MK Jensen for the eARC of Bad Habit! I will continue to fall in love with every story you create ❤️🍒

Thank you to the author for the ARC!❤️

This book was SO GOOD! With the next book in the West Haven series, we got Mia and Oliver's story, and yall... This book was EVERYTHING! Mia Cassidy is my spirit animal, and Oliver West? What more is there to say other than he's Oliver West. Every 'pretty girl' had me SWOONING. Though, as a person who hates anything cherry (and always has), I felt like such a traitor reading this, but I'm glad that I can understand all the ST jokes now.😂 While reading, I had to keep reminding myself to breathe because I was not doing that. I also take notes when reading to help me form reviews at a later date. Half of my notes were just me helplessly fangirling rather than anything important. MK Never fails to write swoon-worthy characters that are hot, badass, and you can't help but to feel and root for them. This book had me constantly in a bi panic. One thing I did want to shout out was how we still got to see how Rory and AJ's relationship is continuing to slowly grow and develop. It's just so very them. The writing was phenomenal, the characters were so well-developed, and the storyline was very well executed. I loved this, loved them, loved every single second of this absolute masterpiece of a book. Looking forward to seeing what is in store next for this series!

Thank you to MK for providing me with an ARC for an honest review!

I have never been more obsessed with a couple more than Oliver and Mia! I have been dying to read their story since the first book and M.K. delivered a phenomenal story that sucked me in from the very beginning!

Mia is such a confident and fierce walking ball of sunshine. She has so much love to give. She is everything I wish I was and I adore her with all my heart! Oliver is our sad boy just trying to find his place in the world and he just wants to love Mia for everything she is. These two were so hot and delicious from the very beginning!

I truly have no notes on this perfection of a story. M.K writes like she was meant to write. Her writing is seamless and draws you into a story where you fall in love with every single character!

I started with Fragmented Desires and I was hooked. bad Habit did not disappoint. The way the story unfolds and tells of individuals who are not prefect, they are all dealing with trauma, family issues, grief or something but the healthy way the author writes these characters coming together to support each other and meet each other where they are as they grown and learn to deal/overcome their issues is heart warming and gives a great example of how people should show up for each other. I also loved how the male character identifies he doesn’t have the best communications skills and looks to improve, talk about writing what a healthy relationship should look like
Bravo to MK her writing captivates you with the story line AND write real life issues into the characters and how they come out on the other side, love love loved this book

Love love the west haven crew!!!

I have just completely fallen in love with the whole gang! While
last book was Rory and Avery Jude... this one was Mia and Oliver!

We still get the triplets, Eddie, and the whole West Haven gym! Oliver is fighting having feelings for Mia and Mia is trying to do everything she can but accept her feelings for Oliver.

So- Oliver fights to have a feeling of validation and Mia is wild and ambitious to fight the feeling of being caged by her family.

This book is similar to the first where the couple is both fighting their own battle but both need each other to help themselves!

The characters just feel so real and relatable that I find myself engulfed in their world while I'm reading!!

I can not wait for the next one- the epilogue makes us seem like Eli's story will be next!!

I honestly wasn’t sure I was going to review this book at all. I finished it with a lot of thoughts, and I found the writing style pretty hard to get through for reasons others pointed out and i don’t feel the need to pile on and be unnecessarily mean, but I figured I’d just leave it there and move on. Then a few days later, the author posted about writing unlikable female characters and it made me realize why this particular character bothered me so much.

Because I actually LOVE an unlikable woman.

Give me selfish women. messy women. Jealous women. Women who make terrible decisions and hurt people andprioritize themselves and refuse to be nice just because readers expect women to be nice. I am fully on board.

My problem with Bad Habit wasn’t that the FMC was unlikable. It was that a huge amount of her “unlikability” seemed to boil down to being nasty toward other women whenever a man was involved, with basically no exploration of that.

Women flirt with the MMC while having literally no idea that she has feelings for him, and instead of the jealousy being about *her*, these women become portrayed as desperate, annoying, and stupid. They are treated like they have done something wrong simply by being interested in a single man who, as far as they know, is available.

And honestly? That could've been such an interesting flaw.

Jealousy is human. Thinking “I hate this woman because she made him laugh” while also knowing she has done absolutely nothing wrong is messy and real. Be petty! Be irrational! But there’s a difference between a character thinking something unfair and knowing it’s unfair, versus the book repeatedly handing her women to demean and basically going, “well yeah, obviously she sucks.”

I’ve also seen the comparison online that romance heroes are allowed to get jealous and territorial with other men, so why shouldn’t heroines?

They should. But I don’t think those things exist in exactly the same context.

Part of the fantasy of a jealous romance hero is often that he puts “her” above another man—above male approval, friendship, ego, whatever. He chooses the woman. A heroine repeatedly degrading other women for a man’s attention can land very differently because we already have centuries worth of women being told that other women are the competition and male validation is the prize. The other woman has to be uglier, stupider, sluttier, more desperate, or just somehow “less” so the heroine can be the one he chooses.

You can absolutely write that behavior. Please do, actually. But explore it.

I didn’t need her to suddenly become a girl’s girl or give some giant apology speech. She could’ve stayed jealous and petty! Let her realize she gets mean when she feels threatened. Let someone call her on it. Let her realize it and keep doing it anyway. Let there be SOME recognition that the random woman flirting with an available man is not actually the villain of the story.

Instead, a lot of these women felt like props who existed so the FMC could tear them down and then feel superior.

And that’s where “women are allowed to be unlikable” loses me as a defense. Of course they are. But unlikable doesn’t automatically mean complex, and misogynistic behavior doesn’t magically become subversive because a woman is the one doing it.

Between that and a writing style I already really struggled with, this just ended up being a frustrating read for me.

I didn’t dislike her because she was unlikable. I disliked that she had the bones of a genuinely interesting, complicated flaw and the book just… never seemed that interested in looking underneath it. It was a great start and I hope to enjoy the next book.

🍒 Love Is Loudest Through Actions 🍒
⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ | 🌶️🌶️

There is something incredibly refreshing about a romance where the characters are allowed to be beautifully imperfect. Bad Habit is an emotional, character-driven story that explores mental health, healing, and finding the people who love you exactly as you are. As my first M.K. Jensen novel, I walked away impressed by how deeply she developed not only Mia and Oliver individually, but also the relationship they slowly built together.

One of my favorite aspects of this story was seeing how differently Mia and Oliver navigate their internal struggles. Mia keeps herself constantly moving, filling every moment with energy and purpose to outrun the thoughts she doesn't want to face. Oliver carries his pain quietly, channeling it into the fighting ring while questioning his own worth behind his confident exterior. Their journeys felt authentic, and I appreciated that neither character was ever portrayed as needing to be "fixed." Instead, they learned to support one another while continuing to grow as individuals.

Oliver quickly became my favorite character. Beneath his cocky attitude is someone incredibly thoughtful, loyal, and steadfast. He doesn't just tell Mia how he feels, he shows her through every action, proving that love is often found in the quiet moments rather than grand declarations. Mia is equally unforgettable. She's bold, intelligent, passionate, and unapologetically herself. Watching everyone at West Haven encourage her to shine instead of asking her to be less was one of the most uplifting parts of the novel.

The found family in this book deserves its own spotlight. The friendships, banter, and unwavering support between the entire West Haven group created some of my favorite moments. Every interaction felt genuine, making this world one I never wanted to leave. M.K. Jensen has a gift for writing side characters who feel just as important as the main couple, adding so much heart to the overall story.

While this wasn't quite a five-star read for me, it came very close. There were a few moments where I wanted certain conversations to happen sooner, but the emotional payoff, heartfelt character growth, and undeniable chemistry made this an incredibly rewarding reading experience. If you enjoy romances with meaningful mental health representation, unforgettable found family, witty banter, action, and a love story that proves actions will always speak louder than words, Bad Habit deserves a spot on your TBR.

Thank you to M.K. Jensen for the gifted advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Trope - friends to lovers, fighter romance, possessive MMC, cherry bomb FMC, mental health rep, found family, he falls first, one-night stand to more, grief, flirty banter, no third act breakup, HEA

MIGHT CONTAIN MINOR SPOILERS!

I really enjoyed this one. The marketing for this book was so effective that I couldn't help but request an e-ARC. Thank you, MK, for providing me with it.

Oliver and Mia's story was beautiful, filled with banter, chemistry, messiness, and angst.

Mia was the definition of loud, chaotic, confident, and full of love. Her cherry-bomb personality was so alluring. Seeing her as a reflection of Oliver's mum made me a little emotional because it was a lovely touch.

Oliver was the broody, sad brother who cared deeply for everyone he loved. The way he SABOTAGED all her dates because he was jealous made me laugh and smirk at the same time. He was smitten, and he didn't even hide it. The way he talked to her, looked after her, and noticed her was everything that made him the perfect MMC. He was such a sweetie; his love and adoration for Mia made me a puddle- his love language was the most adorable.

The tension and yearning in this book were fabulous. Every interaction and moment between Oliver and Mia was filled with it, and you just couldn't stop reading.

The raw emotions here, especially Oliver's, were so easy to relate to and well expressed.

Watching their love grow was the best thing. I particularly loved how the book focused on the MCs finding themselves while undergoing active personal growth.

Side characters and plot -
1. The triplets had three distinct personalities, and I loved them for it. Max was the definition of sunshine, while Eli was serious and vigilant. Their bond was menacing and amazing.
2. The friend group here was to die for. The triplets and AJ's bond was everything; it was filled with love, sibling banter, and so much fun.
3. Rory and Eddie were such supportive characters; they were the backbone without even realising it.

This was my first book by this author, and I'll definitely be looking forward to both Eli and Max's stories.

It was such a sweet, angsty, emotional read, but towards the end I just wanted more.

Definitely recommend.
Overall 4/5.

Bad Habit was everything I KNEW it would be. Mia and Oliver's story is one full of banter, sweet moments and LOTS of tension and yearning. I absolutely loved their journey - what starts off as a one night stand leads to something more. If you haven't read book 1 of the series, STOP what you're doing and get on it now.

Mia is our cherry bomb FMC🍒she's first introduced in book 1 and quickly becomes AJ's BFF. The friendship that they have is so true, and the loyalty they have for one another is unmatched. Not only is she loyal, she's also a strong, confident woman who's sassy af and loves hard. She speaks her mind and doesn't back down from anything or anyone.

Oliver is our sweet, sad boy MMC🥊he is one of the West triplets and from their first interaction, he's had his eye on Mia. He's protective, possessive, and HOT AF - the way he cares for Mia and keeps her favorite cherry snacks stocked up melted me into a puddle. The way he would sabotage her dates because he was jealous were his best moments. Oh, and to add to his hotness he wears a sl*tty chain and drives a bike!

I love everything about the West Haven series, but the characters are my favorite. Each one is unique and brings a different vibe to the West Haven family. The group chats are the best, ELITE doesn't even begin to describe the family dynamic. I genuinely feel like I could be a part of this family if they were in fact real.

Special shout out to Daddy Eddie for raising such amazing men!❤️

Do I recommend this book? A million times YES! No questions asked, this is a must read. I can't wait for the rest of the books in the series, I already know that this is going to be one of my all time favorite series.

Thank you MK Jensen for the advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review!🖤

some people are pure sunlight pretending to be human. that’s mia. she walks into a room and it feels warmer, brighter, softer. she loves with her whole chest, without apology, without hesitation, without shrinking herself to make anyone else comfortable. she’s all blonde hair and cherry-red lips and may not throw the hardest punch, but she knows exactly how to wield her words, and somehow they land even harder. she’s an absolute menace and we love her for it. everyone needs a mia in their life.

then there’s oliver: our down bad and sad fighter lover boy. a man who wears strength like armor until you realize it’s hiding a heart stitched together with grief. on the surface, he’s all clenched fists and quiet determination, searching for a place to belong. but underneath? he’s literally just a boy who misses his mom. a man who finds peace in the walking bombshell that is mia. the way he loves mia is consistently shown in the smallest acts, and those ordinary moments somehow become the loudest declarations of love.

bad habit completely consumed me and had me down bad for oliver AND mia. it was hot as hell, fun in all the right places, and so emotionally honest that it caught me off guard. the banter is foreplay, the chemistry is palpable, and every soft moment hit with the force of a tidal wave. BH reminded me that love isn’t always grand gestures—sometimes it’s consistency, choosing someone over and over again, making them feel worthy and safe to be fully seen and accepted no matter what.

but more than anything, this story felt like permission. permission to love loudly. to be messy. to be too much for the wrong people and exactly enough for the right ones. and this found family loves and accepts so 👏🏻 damn 👏🏻 loud 👏🏻. “you fight, we fight.”

MK, thank you for cherry-picking me for your beta team—i am so honored. ilysm and am forever proud of you ♥️🍒

I have no words to explain my love for Bad Habit; I truly felt seen in every character in some way or another. The way M.K. gave us a deep insight into both Oliver and Mia might have been one of my favorite parts of this story. We got to see them as individuals and as who they are together. I also love when authors give so much depth to their characters, especially when mental health is represented in their stories. The way we see how both deal with their struggles in completely different ways, with Mia loving being the center of attention and doing everything she can to keep her brain on full speed to avoid the negative thoughts. Then Oliver, who prefers to stay hidden unless he is fighting as a way to physically deal with internal struggles and use that pain he finds in the physical fighting rather than the pain he feels inside.

Oliver comes off very confident and cocky at times, but in reality, he is insecure and hides that, never showing the thoughtfulness he puts in everything he does for Mia. The fear of not being enough and scaring her off is relatable to so many readers. With Mia, we know she is confident, but we still see that fear in her when it comes to Oliver and the idea of letting those around her down, so she hides that by being unstoppable in everything she does and never stopping. I related so heavily to Mia on her fear of not being a good friend or being good enough; the fear of disappointing the people you love takes over completely until it physically exhausts you.

The banter between Mia and Oliver, between all the characters, was brilliantly perfect. The relationship we see between all of them had me feeling so many emotions. M.K. captured found family in such a beautiful and unique way that it will remain one of my favorite parts of this book.

This series is beyond beautiful, and I cannot wait to see where M.K. takes us on this journey of West Haven.

Ahhh, this book!! I had the chance to beta this, and I am so so grateful for the opportunity (thank you, M.K.!) ❤️ We got to meet Mia and Oliver in Fragmented Desires, and you could feel their chemistry already. And then, Bad Habit - oh my god. It starts with such a bang, and then leads to the most delicious, emotional slow burn as Mia and Oliver circle each other.

Oliver really is a sad lover boy, through and through, and they truly are inevitable! I had so many highlights of their banter and flirting throughout, and just everything he does for her - I was swooning. I’m definitely not going to be able to think about cherries (or their stems, iykyk) (or bricks!!!!) without thinking of Mia. Fully obsessed with our sunshine cherry girl, she is so incredible and so clever and so strong, it is so easy to love her.

It was so great getting to see more of AJ & Rory’s relationship as well, both Mia & Oliver’s chapters throughout highlight how perfect they are for each other & how much their friends & family adore them. The found family theme in this series is everything, I especially loved getting to know the triplets and Eddie (and everyone!) more as well.

I also have to mention the ending - there were scenes that literally had me gasping out loud or tearing up, everything wraps up so brilliantly and beautifully ❤️ There is so much heart in this book and I have so much love for Bad Habit, and the West Haven delinquents - this series will have you yearning and aching and every emotion in-between. I know you’ll love them like I do, and I am so excited for the next in the series!

Mia Cassidy, you are EVERYTHING.

I already knew and loved these characters from Fragmented Desires, but I still wasn't prepared for them to take my heart in the way they did.

Mia is truly everything you could ever wish to be. She is an absolute boss babe, who moves in silence, with all the passion in the world, even while internally holding in all that she goes through, thinking she has to grow through it on her own, as to not burden anyone around her. And I feel that, on a very deep level, being the oldest sibling, that is my reality. But she couldn't be more wrong. Her people, her chosen family would never see her as too much. I found so much of myself in Avery Jude, but Mia, is her perfect counterpart, she is everything wild, free and selfless - all the great attributes you think of in others, that you wish for yourself to be. Souls don't meet on accident and Avery and Mia were destined to be friends, in every lifetime and it is BEAUTIFUL. Their ability to just silently trust and believe in each other, be who they need at that exact moment, and always have each other's back is the kind of friendship I pray for, for my daughter as she grows.

Oliver is the saddest boy and that makes him love even more hard and loudly (even if he thinks he has to do it quietly, iykyk). His inner turmoil and longing to be loved the way he loves makes his character emotionally sound, and honestly one of the greenest flags ever. There isn't a man alive, quite like Oliver West. He truly thinks he cannot be what Mia Cassidy needs, but he doesn't even realize that it's just HIM. Him showing up everyday, just as he has, from the very beginning. Him continuing to stand in her corner, no matter what. I can't think of anything that I personally need more than someone in my corner at every turn.

It's hard to find the words to accurately describe just how much I love these characters, their story and the world of West Haven. The ending chapters have me giddy and on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what's next for this found family of mismatched souls that have come together to create a beautiful masterpiece.

I FREAKING LOVE ANYTHING BY THIS WOMAN. I SWEAR. 😭

So, in Fragmented Desires, Rory somehow found his way onto my Book Boyfriends list... Which, prior to him, had ONE name on it: Noah Freaking Riley. So I KNEW book two in the West Haven series would be EVERYTHING! And now here we are with a triplet. I don’t know why that’s hot, but it is. 😂

And Bad Habit starts off with a BANG. 😂 Like, we are NOT waiting around for the tension to build because IT. IS. THERE. IMMEDIATELY. And honestly? I love that for us.

M.K. Jensen knows how to write a male character, and I am ALWAYS impressed. Oliver is broody but not too broody. Stubborn but not too stubborn. Protective and romantic without crossing into the “okay sir, calm down” territory. 😂 He has just the right amount of everything, and I absolutely ate him up.

And Mia?! That girl is a SPITFIRE. I loved her. She has so much fight and personality, and I loved watching her and Oliver challenge each other.

This book seriously has it ALL—spice, romance, heartache, banter, action, tension and so much heart. I swear I flew through this book. I ATE. IT. UP.

I love this series so freaking much and I NEED MORE. Like… immediately. Please and thank you. 😂

M.K. Jensen, you have officially created another book boyfriend problem for me and I am not mad about it.

And a huge, huge thank you to M.K. Jensen for sending me an ARC. It was an absolute pleasure to read, and I cannot wait to see what comes next! ❤️

*ARC Review*

OH MY GOODNESSSSSS.

Mia and Oliver are probably one of my favorite couples. Their journey was so cute and I loved watching them get closer and build their friendship.

Mia is the epitome of sunshine and I am obsessed with her. Her confidence and her badassery cannot be matched. The way she loved all things cherry was amazing and I thought it was fantastic that everyone encouraged her cherry addiction. What I admired most about Mia was the love she showed her people and how protective she was of not just them, but West Haven as a whole.

Oliver, the sweet cinnamon roll sad boy that he is, had me wrapped around his finger since Fragmented Desires with his love for AJ. Watching him fall fast and hard for Mia was adorable and all the little things he did for her silently (or let his brother take credit for) when she had no idea had me swooning. I loved his tenacity and how he never gave up on Mia and was always crashing her dates. He is just a lover boy and I adore him - I mean come on… the BRICK!!

Their chemistry was off the charts from the beginning so I was rooting them on even when they were pretending to just be friends. I loved the yearning from Oliver and when Mia finally acknowledged them being more I was kicking my feet, cheering them on. The spice was 🔥 and it was made even better by their phenomenal connection. I just couldn’t get enough of them.

The found family in this series is 10/10 and I cannot wait for more West Haven… especially more of the West men 😏

Thank you MK for the ARC! ❤️🍒

I received an ARC of this book, and thank you again to M.K. Jensen and her team!

Before you read my review, please note that you need to read Fragmented Desires first before you can fall deeper in love with the characters.

If you have read Fragmented Desires perfect, you are in the right spot. If you are looking for a book with the right amount of spice and plot, this is the book for you. Bad Habit is one of my top books for 2026 and a 5 star read. M.K. Jensen has this pull with her books that leave you rooting for every character she introduces you to. For Bad Habit, we get to pick back up with Oliver and Mia and see their love story grow. Oliver is a fierce protector who only has eyes for Mia, and Mia is a strong woman who lights up everyone's life that she interacts with. When you put them together, you get lots of banter, characters growing with each other, and some button pushing, but all in good fun. When I think of how their story is, it reminds me of the saying that you are not asking too much you are just asking the wrong person, or true love is loudest with people's actions. You will notice certain parts in the book that give this vibe. There are a lot of heartfelt moments in the book and some moments where you want to scream at the characters (like a oh he went there or a ooo she did that type of vibe). I'm trying to keep my review as spoiler free as I can so that you can take the chance and be surprised and excited just as I was when I read Bad Habit.

What to say about this book… My brain feels as chaotic as Mia’s right now (adhd twins) as I try to get my thoughts together besides just squealing. I absolutely loved this book! Mia and Oliver were EVERYTHING I was hoping for! I have loved Mia and her chaotic/loving personality since book 1. When I found out we were getting her book, I was beyond ready for it. I feel like this book wasn’t as tear jerking as the first, but it still emotionally pulled you in.

All Mia wants is to be herself and for someone to love her for who she is. She doesn’t want to feel like she’s too much and she makes sure she starts to surround herself with her own people who will understand that. She is the reminder of “if I’m too much go find less”!

Oliver just wants to feel like he has a purpose. He struggles but never is alone. The effort he puts in for Mia is amazing because he truly lets her be herself and loves that about her.

Reading their journey of truly finding themselves and each other was everything I could’ve wanted. They deserved all the happiness they found with each other and I already want more of them! The little twists you find out towards the end shocked me completely! MK did it again and I’m already ready for the next book!

Thank you MK Jensen for the early copy - all opinions are my own!

I need everyone to stop what they're doing and read this because I fear no one is prepared for Oliver and Mia. 🥵
This book had me kicking my feet, giggling into my pillow and unable to put down my kindle.
Mia is THAT GIRL. Sassy, stubborn, takes absolutely no shit from anyone but underneath all that fire is the biggest heart. She felt so real and impossible not to love.
And Oliver???
OLIVER.
Someone check my pulse.
This man looks like a grade A menace but is secretly the most obsessed, devoted, down bad lover boy to ever exist.
The way he loves Mia? The way he shows up for her? The way he would move mountains if she so much as hinted she needed one relocated? I was swooooning.
The banter was top tier.
The tension was exquisite. Every interaction felt like a full course meal and I was licking the plate clean.
But honestly, one of my favorite things about this book was the found family. Every single character felt like someone you'd want in your corner.
And Mia and Avery's friendship? Elite. No notes. Every girl deserves a friendship like that! Full of love, loyalty, support, and the ability to call you on your bullshit when necessary.
I genuinely enjoyed every single page of this book and I cannot wait for the rest of the series!
5 stars and an immediate recommendation to everyone I know.

Bad Habit is everything you could want in a book; I mean it. It’s got banter for days, entertaining and unique smut(👀🍒🍸) mental health rep, action, found family and that gritty, raw, emotional story telling a lot of us long for in romance books. Needless to say, MK writes the kind of books that allow you to feel.

Mia shines bright, so close to the sun she could burn but no one in West Haven dismisses her or tries to change her, they let her shine, they let her be who she is without ever trying to dull her energy. She’s brilliant, a true mastermind in her work, she’s passionate, and unapologetically loud. There are more parts of me that connect deeply with Mia than I care to admit, and some parts of her i wish i had more of.

Oliver, our resident sad mommas boy, is going through life searching for purpose. He is simultaneously hurting and healing, while fight to prove that he will stand by Mia no matter what because he is so steadfast in his feelings. And I think by now we all know that he can fu-🤭🧱🍒😏

MK, you never cease to amaze me with everything in that big beautiful brain of yours and Bad Habit was no exception. Thank you a million times over for your trust, through the alpha and beta stages, the arc distribution and with my first author livestream. I’m so grateful to be in your corner, thank you for letting me take up some space in it🫶

Bad Habit is ingrained in my soul for the quiet tenderness it provokes. Infinity stars forever and ever.

I feel soul connected to Mia in a way that only people who have read the book or are Mk (when I send her dm’s while reading) will understand. This book, holy did it blow my breath away. Bad Habit is going to resonate so deeply for those of us who fight our battles with kindness, and with a smile. For those of us whos days get brighter by making others happy and seeing others succeed.

I also want to highlight the care that MK puts into writing her characters. As someone who has gone on the rollercoaster ride of mental health, I have never in my life related to characters more than the west haven crew. The way she writes sometimes feels like looking into a mirror, seeing all the good, bad, and maybe the ugly, and writes her characters in a way that they have the tools to help change or shift their state of being. It is beyond inspiring to read. Watching Mia, AJ, Oliver, and other characters in this world be able to grow from their circumstances to be the best versions of themselves while still being messily human is beautiful. This series has not only become my favorite of all time, it has changed my life with the way I view myself as well as having met a community of strong women who will thirst over Oliver and Rory at 7 in the morning.

I loved this book! I’d never read a boxer romance before, so I was really excited to dive into a new kind of sports romance. It starts with a sexy bang and never slows down from there.

Mia is an absolute cherry bomb of an FMC. 🍒 She works her tail off, is fiercely loyal to the people she loves, and is completely unapologetic about who she is. She’s a fiery little blonde who can definitely pack a punch.

I absolutely loved the banter and tension between Mia and Oliver. Oliver is the oldest of identical triplets and helps run West Haven—a place that offers boxing, self-defense classes, jiu-jitsu, and a safe retreat for local youth. More than anything, it’s a haven for people who need a fresh start…which is exactly how Mia finds both a job and the family she’s always deserved.

Oliver and Mia’s romance was everything. Mia is constantly going on dates, and it absolutely drives Oliver insane because neither of them can admit what everyone else already knows—they want each other. Between the date crashing, the bets, the boxing matches, the nonstop tension, and the incredible found family, I couldn’t put this book down.

And Mia’s obsession with anything cherry flavored? Absolutely iconic. 🍒

Will I ever get enough of this series? The answer is a resounding NO.

Bad Habit is Book 2 in the West Haven series following Mia and Oliver. Look, AJ and Rory are perfection in every way, but Mia and Oliver? Perfect in their own hot, bantery way.

Mia is EVERYTHING! A walking cherry bomb, the embodiment of sunshine to her friends, confident and unapologetic in every sense of the way. She is a literal Queen 👑 and I won't hear otherwise. Her friendship with AJ is unmatched, and I'm secretly (not so secretly lol) jealous of their relationship. MK writes found family like no other, and the way that Mia is welcomed and accepted into the West Haven family is so genuine and heartwarming.

We get glimpses of Oliver in Fragmented Desires, but as the MMC in Bad Habit, we really delve into all the different sides of him. Broody on the outside, he uses fighting to quiet the voices of self doubt about his worth and to hide his pain. Underneath a tougher exterior, he's also healing, and is every bit as loyal as Mia is. He was so down bad for her and the sabotaging of all her dates? 👌Together, they're just explosive and magnetic.

MK has had me in a chokehold with this series since the very beginning of Fragmented Desires, and that feeling has only strengthened with Bad Habit. Thank you so much MK for allowing me to read and review, all opinions are my own!

Spice level - 2.5 -3
Slow burn
Fighting (boxer) mmc , personal doubts, hurt and sad , looking for something
FMC - bright, confident ( deep inside not so much) looking for something
No spoilers
The story line was addictive! Personally I loved how we get to go on this ride with Mia and Oliver . We learn about what makes them tick and turn to each other and how they become each others bets friends. The story has characters that not only are mirror copies of our main characters but helps you see why they trust and love each other. Our fighters, deadly but are so sweet tot hose around them. Our ladies are strong, overcome obstacles and help each other thrive through so much of their personal lives (past).

Some spoilers
MIA and Oliver have a thing for each other, they are as stubborn and play with each other. They burn slowly for each other but when they touch is electric and when away from each other they can’t stand it. Will they end up together ? They are surrounded by many that loves them but they don’t trust themselves to be honest about what is going on between them. Our sad boy olive fights physically and emotionally to make sure he doesn’t scares her sways.

I had to buy two bags of cherries to snack on while reading this! A cherry margarita or two was also a MUST despite the trial and error of getting that taste just right.

This was a fantastic read, I loved the bit of a slow burn this was and how close Mia and Oliver became before they inevitably were together. I also liked how their relationship only made them better people. They made each other feel desired, wanted and loved while it made Mia feel understood and Oliver a bit softer.

I really appreciated that the other characters in the books still had such a huge part to play with our main characters and their story. You’re not only falling in love with the Mia and Oliver but you really adore their friends and their dynamics too.

If you favor books where the main characters personalities clash against the inevitable pull towards each other, and an almost forbidden romance where characters have to balance their desires against the risk of their group dynamic, this is the book for you!

Thank you so much to M.K. Jensen for providing me with a ARC. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have been able to read this early in exchange for my honest review.

Where do I even start with Oliver and Mia? They are messy, their chemistry is off the charts, and I love all the little games they play to get up each other's skin. I just loved watching their story unfold.

Oliver is a sad boy who absolutely stole my heart. All the little things he does for Mia that she doesn't even know, and then the flirting and obsessive possessiveness he has over her. I love his patience with her too because he knows she is skittish. Mia just has the biggest heart, and while she may seem like too much at times for people, I love that she just is being herself. I love how she makes Oliver work for it. It was so entertaining to watch. Her relationship with AJ is just beautiful and still one of my favorite female friendships in a book.

I love how everyone who was in the first book is just as prominent in this book. This book has the biggest found family vibes, and I just adore all of the rest of the West men and Rory and his mom.

Thank you so much @MKJensen for the opportunity to read this ARC. You completely knocked it out of the park with Fragmented Desires and Bad Habit, and I can't wait to see what you have in store for the rest of the series.

Well shit. That ending had me smiling like a lunatic. M.K. rounded out Mia and Oliver’s story with a bang!

Bad Habit is book 2 in the series and was a story about finding your people and your purpose. Mia and Oliver are drawn to each other like moths to flames. They love causing trouble for each other and their chemistry was combustible.

Mia is a powerhouse. Doesn’t take any sh*t and sure and hell doesn’t change who she is for anyone.

Oliver is a certified lover boy. He’s obsessed with Mia but of course can’t come out and say it. He does the little things, the thoughtful things. Oh and he wears a freakin chain. So hot.

Overall I loved this story. There were a few things I didn’t vibe with but I understood their significance for the story. The ending really pulled it all together for me. It opened my eyes to the bigger picture and I am in awe of the way M.K. connected all the pieces & made me even more obsessed with Oliver.

Thank you M.K. for the opportunity to read and review this advanced copy!
