Shion's and Nezumi's 'adventure' in the facility continues. It's once again a bit different from the anime, but since this volume is mostly action and fighting, not overtly so.

We see more of the cruelty people are capable of and it's explained in more detail what exactly No.6 is doing with the people they regard as garbage, while the scientists themselves are chatting happily and drink coffee. It's actually very upsetting, because it's not unrealistic. Humans have done, still do and will continue to do such things to other humans in the future. Let's not even mention animals here. It makes one want to curl up into a ball under a blanket and tune the world out for a while.

Nezumi continues to worry about Shion's personality change and they share some really powerful scenes. I didn't even mind that people could have shot them while they were dealing with their feelings for each other right in the middle of the chaos, because they're so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. Oops.

This one is hard to review because there are some things that happen that are big and it would be wrong to spoil them. Rat and Shion are now deep into the facility and their progress has not gone unnoticed. They are forced to protect each other, taking the boys to their emotional/mental limits. Shion seems to be almost dual-personality here with one doing things the other doesn't even realize. It's an odd thing.

Dogskeeper and Rikiga are working on the outside and the Scientist in White is gaining more and more control over No 6 for whatever his neferious plans are. He is turning Safu into...something. We don't know what yet but I'm betting next volume isn't going to be an easy one once Shion, Rat and Safu are in the same place.

This one does take a little bit of suspension of disbelief that anyone could get this hurt and still go on. It was a bit more accurate when Rat was trying to keep Shion from protecting him. The pace is a bit slow in spite of the action but mostly because I want them to get to Safu already.

The art is lovely and there's a bonus story that's very cute and Shakespeare derived. I wasn't sure this was supposed to be future Earth but it obviously is. Looking forward to what comes next even though I'm pretty sure it won't be happy.

This volume was so dramatic and intense that I read it in one sitting while yelling 'PLEASE DON'T HURT MY SOFT BOYS.' The plot has been steadily culminating throughout the last few volumes and it finally came to a head in the big action scenes in this volume. There were also some twists I wasn't expecting and Nezumi and Shion's relationship grows even closer.
Basically, this was amazing and I'm dead.

Repeated review.

Have you seen this manga series? Have you seen it? You see how high my rating is? THIS is how you do yaoi the correct way. None of that sexual harassment bullshit. None of that main boy gets raped by other main boy and falls in love with him. None of that abuse is fine if he looks sexy. None of that dark shit that’s getting passed off as romantic. None of that lack of a story. None of those random sex scenes. None of that hating all the characters.

Why can’t we get more of this instead of all the toxic shit I just listed?

Is some of the dialogue questionable? Yes, absolutely, but it is no way near as bad as how it usually gets when it comes to queer/yaoi manga that I’ve come across.

Just when I thought that No.6 was bad in the manga is worst! Much gore and corpses than in the anime also the shoking brains in tanks at the end of manga. The rhythm in this vol is intense. There are small parts were you can breathe. The part were Shion kills that ugly man OMG Nezumi's expression just break my kokoro. It hurts me a lot all the guilty that Nezumi carries with him and his thoughts about Shion and how he had opened his heart just to him is like *feels* I love Nezumi so much ok? He is my baby. I was listening Mirros of JT as reading this vol and I wanted to cry so bad. The lyrics of the song also fit Nezumi's and Shion's relationship. Nezumi is beautiful even when he cries.

How can one book be so cute and so cruel at the same time? Because Shion and Rat are incredibly cute, and their love for each other breathtaking. But the research facility, the cruelty of the scientists and city officials... that turns my stomach.

I really am in complete love with this story. It needs more appreciation. The art is gorgeous, and the story makes my heart pound. Rat and Shion are beautiful human beings.

Safuis a prisoner on the top floor of the Correctional Facility. Shion and Nezumi manage to slip back in amid the chaos sown by Dogkeeper, but whatthey find is almost too terrifying to conceive… countless neatly organized rows of corpses, with their brains removed! Backed into a corner, Rat is ready for death, but Shion seizes a weapon, and insists on surviving at any cost—!

So Shion and Rat are finally in the facility, working their way to save Safu. It starts good, but quickly gets violent and bloody, and difficult for both Shion and Rat.

It’s hard on both Rat and Shion. It’s changing Shion, in a bad way, and it’s really giving a different look at him. Rat is also seeing the way that it’s changing Shion, and he isn’t liking it either, even if Shion isn’t really aware. Things are going bad for them quite rapidly, and it’s not good.

We got to see a little bit of what is going on inside No. 6, and it’s not good there either. We’re mostly seeing this from Shion’s mom’s point of view, and the scientist who’s doing it. The disease is quickly spreading in public, and it’s bad.

There were also a few scenes with Dogkeeper, and some of it was bad, mainly when she helped Shion and Rat. But we also saw her with the baby, and it’s just adorable. She tries not to be, but she’s good with him, and she likes him. Little Shion is obviously attached to her. It’s so cute.

Then there was the cliffhanger, which is leading to some interesting discoveries with Safu. Something bad is happening to her. And it’s sure to be exciting.

This is so stressful omfggggg. Nezumi and Shion continue inside the facility, trying to save Safu.

Nezumi wants to keep Shion safe and pure but Shion has had a shift in personality and is killing to protect Nezumi.😭 Meanwhile Shion is like, damn I love him so I must do everything in my power to protect him even if it means compromising myself.

Extremely intense relationship, holy shit. When they have a beautiful moment in the hallway I was like is it really time for this right now, they are chasing you??? But beautiful moment fr.

The cruelty of these people behind this city and what they are doing to those they view as disposable is soo brutal. Like goddamn it's bad. Especially whatever the hell experiments Safu is going through right now.

Meanwhile I love the supporting characters doing things behind the scenes to support Nezumi and Shion. Them with the baby is a nice fun time between all the other misery shown.

It's just nice to read books where I can feel characters caring deeply for each other rather than just being told it. I'm not actually 100% on how I'm supposed to be reading Rat and Shion's relationship but whatever the flavor of the love they have for each other is, it's strong, obvious and clear and I can actually follow it.

Plot wise this one was more of a ramp up to the next one, did have some further entries in the "what's up with Shion" file. I still love Rat. Was expecting some really personally upsetting body horror at the end of this, was pleased to have it not be the case (my broken sleep schedule thanks you.)

Ok I tried to cheat here, I guess, because when I was reading the light novels my brain stopped functioning due to how disgustingly sincere the writing was, and while this volume's full of action, moral quandaries and even cute in places, a lot of the monologue I'm accustomed to seeing from reading the novels is missing and it kept making me uncomfortable for some reason???? idk man idk.

So the light novels it is, I guess.

This is a strong volume, it is action oriented, but have a lot of small powerful moments and realizations for Nezumi & Shion. It is almost as if those two have switch personalities for a moment. Shion is ruthless in his choices while Nezumi have become more sentimental.

The manga does a much better job then the anime to show the characters feelings and the horror of No.6.

This is an artist who knows how to use her art to make you think one thing is happening, when another is going on. She uses this style of story telling to weave a story too elegant to be labeled a simple "tragedy."

And yet what a fucking tragedy this is.

Uno de mis tomos favoritos del manga. Nezumi y Shion avanzan por la prisión y, lo que están a punto de experimentar, cambiará la vida de ambos para siempre.
