Dark Fey Captive
He saved her from drowning. Now she’s his.
Hidden on an island in Lake Superior, Arena escaped the worst of the apocalypse. She’s safe—as long as she doesn’t leave. But supplies are running out, and it’s her turn to face the mainland… and the infected who roam it.
She wasn’t supposed to fall into the water, and she definitely wasn’t supposed to be saved by something that isn’t human.
The dark fey were only rumors—until one claimed her as his own. He’s possessive. Otherworldly. And now she can’t escape. Not across the water she fears, not without risking the lives of everyone she left behind, and not from the pull of the creature whose gaze should terrify her… but doesn’t.
When he touches her, she stops wanting to run.
Because the real danger isn’t that he wants her—it’s that she might want him back.

I seriously can't get enough of this series. I loved the banter, the wittiness and the spice of life, send help, I'm still melting. Its clear to see Nav is definitely one of my new favorite fey, if not the new number 1. He was sweet, kind and totally trying to understand the woman's mind, poor thing lol even we struggle to understand ourselves in the very best way lol. I won't spill any spoiler for anyone but there was a moment were my poor heart weeped for him, i wanted to jump in this book and make everything all better for him, dare i say even kiss it and make it better lol.
I truly recommend this book, our heroine is a smart cookie to the point of being cunning and using her feminine wails, again smart. Fearless in her own way and truly a girls girl and very protective of her family which was beautiful to read in such a difficult situation that she was in, she never lost her humanity and her fierceness. Loved that she was so real in her way of thinking and trying to survive while still being smart, isn't that what we look for in movies and books ,when you say that would never happen or i wouldn't do that, I would do this instead, despite time and all that wink..wink. I felt like Arena truly felt real as if you were in the same room with her coming up with the plans to survive, if the situation was real. I also will say i loved how the zombies are more proactive to the story in a real inconvenient way lol. I'm sorry in advance for the lols but i just finished the book and i am laughing out loud because it was and is that good. Can't wait for the next book. And may I just say Mrs. M.J Haag you have truly out done yourself, your creativity always nails it, thank you for another story/book to add to my favorites list, I'm proud to say many of your stories are on that list, absolutely incredible.

I was so excited when M. J. Haag said she was writing more in her Resurrection Chronicles world by starting a new series and it lived up to all of my expectations! Arena is distrusting and scared of the dystopian world she now has to navigate. When a supply run goes bad and she finds herself drowning, she’s saved by a demon. Before this she had only heard rumors of the demons that are known for beheading. Now she is navigating her captivity in any way she can to protect her family. Nav is a perfect example of the fey and you can’t help but love his earnestness and hope that he has found what his brothers have. Their love story is messy and full of miscommunication, but such a good read!

Being back in the Resurrection Chronicles world made me so happy! There’s something so endearing about these fey, even when they’re being wildly inappropriate.
The heat in this one was definitely spicy, and I loved getting a story from a new group of characters and seeing their perspective on the end of the world as they knew it. The writing was fast-paced and witty, with plenty of character development, while also giving us a deeper look at how the world is evolving after the arrival of the fey.
Such a fun, spicy read and a great addition to the series!

What a phenomenal five-star read. This is number one in the Breakwater settlement series, but is part of the Resurrection chronicles world, but I would say you could read this one without reading the resurrection chronicles, you would likely want to go back, as the writing is just that good, but the world building stands. There are some touching moments of miscommunication, that will stay with you. Areana is strong in ways that surprise you, her worry for others comes across so real on the page you get pulled in. This is a great story and one that I hope many will give a chance.

I am so excited to be back in this world! The Fey are so funny! I kept laughing at how Nav misinterpreted most everything Arena said.
There are a few heart touching moments that pulled at my heart strings, but it has a happy ending.
The love and devotion these Fey have for the ones they love is heart melting.
I can't wait for the next book. Melissa has the most amazing imagination and I am always looking forward to whatever she writes.
