To sum it up for my trope lovers:

Indie author in my villain origin story era. Morally gray FMC energy with a 'knife-to-the-throat' vibe and a “burn the world for the ones I love” devotion.

I'm now choosing sovereignty over compliance daily and I will not apologize for it or ask permission.

To my readers:

“Let them have their villain. I will be theirs and everyone else’s. But never for you.”
— Slade Ravinger

For those who enjoy diving deeper:

I’ll attempt to solidify some of the prominent experiences that contributed to the creation of this series:

Foundationally, I have formal education in the following: creative writing, screenplay writing, visual arts, philosophy, and political science.

Public exposure that has contributed: my experience in the music industry, experience as a professional screenplay writer and associate producer, a published author, and our favorite artistic ingredient: pain and suffering.

Internal world attribution: lineage-based tantra training, lineage-based shamanism guidance, traditional teacher training in Kundalini yoga, and lastly, I’ve landed in my home of Shaktism, with my beloved Kali Maa.

As you can imagine this catastrophic combination of experiences led to being: a full-blooded anarchist, painfully rebellious, a bleeding sensitive heart, magical af, reclusive, with a strong dose of feral.

And lastly, on a personal note: this series represents my coming into sovereignty and my liberation. I fought armies of inner demons to be here with you today.

I welcome you into my realm with open arms and heart offered freely. May you fall in love, may you cry, may you laugh, may your soul be reforged. May we taste unity and liberation for just a moment together as we co-create as reader and writer.

My heart 💔 this series is becoming one of the best I’ve read so far this year. I DEVOURED book 2, and I need my heart mended in book 3.

Amaria, Eryndor, and the gang going through everything they did only to be bamboozled by the king? And THE HUNTER?! I sobbed. I can’t wait to dive into book 3!

I CANNOT BEGIN with how I feel right now

First of all THANK YOU Celeanne for this Advance Reader Copy

But anyway, this is by far one of the best series I’ve read this year!

My only grievance is how playable our FMC with the “right” words to blind her with instant rage. I wasn’t expecting this from an FMC that is so strong willed to be easily manipulated with words.

Eryndor.. my man. His yearning is top tier. It’s don’t right and I will grovel for this type of yearning

My favorite, Maxx. The not so side character that is the joy when the moments are bleak. I have laughed harder that I have and I wish everyone has a Maxx in their corner.

Serenya, the things she’s gone through has truly broken my heart and everytime her “eye go blank” I just sob. She the glue that hold them together and I’m DEVASTATED that’s she must be the one. I am trusting the process because I will not rest until I get the happy ending. Good thing, I have book three waiting for my broken heart

Thank you to Celeanne Dorrington for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review… also thank you for ripping out my heart😭

There is group of books out there where everyone says one is good, the second book is better. Folks this second book was so amazing and heart wrenching and all I can say is thank goodness I have book 3.

Where book one is more plot driven and very world building and lore heavy, book to is character driven and it is EVERYTHING! We see the stakes to the plot still while getting to watch the push, pull, and growth of our FMC and MMC. The whole thing was a constant ride, and that ending… oh the emotional damage!

Thank goodness we have Maxx to help us hold it together and laugh a bit ❤️

Now for a deep breath and a reminder to trust the process as I jump into book 3!

ARC provided by the author.

Sophomore slump where‽ The .5 star taken off is because I'm still mad at Amaria. Maybe if I was able to pick her up and shake some sense into her. And goodreads needs to add .5 ratings already.

Nevertheless...

This book... this freaking book. As a fan of slow burn that is actually slow, this book was a delight. Everyone bloomed in this 2nd book, showing sides of themselves that they didn't show often or at all (Dreadacale IYKYK) in the first book.

The 2nd half was spent insanely upset at Amaria and her choices because it was so clear what Eryndor was doing. How could she not see it‽‽

The strength in the book was built in the relationships of this motley crew and how each had their moment. In merriment and in sadness, this book weaves them together much like the rupture they seek to mend.

"What if this time it takes something and doesn't give it back? The Codex is—it's everything. It's all I contribute. If I can't read, if I can't write, then what am I?"
"You're our friend," I said firmly. "That's what you are. The rest is—"
"The rest is who I am!" She pulled her hands from mine, pressing them against her temples. "I'm the keeper. The scholar. The one who remembers so everyone else can forget. Without that, I'm just—I'm nothing."

Serenya's heartbreak here was among the saddest in the book. Because who are you when you lose what you think you are, what gives you worth? Maybe for others it was just another string in the web that is this tale but this resonated with me since I'm coming to grip with something akin and I often feel like Serenya feels.

Thank you Celeanne Dorrington for the advanced reader’s copy of this book for an honest review.

Also, thank you for making me fall in love with characters and RIPPING my heart out.

I know it’s for the greater good. I believe in the greater good. But my heart is hurting. Eryndor…you selfless, in love, pain in the ass, beautiful man.

I have completely devoured this book. I have laughed, I have cried, and I have screamed. My poor dogs have seen me go through the emotions as I read this book. They will not look at me the same.

I cannot wait to start book 3. I just hope my heart is fixed in the end.

This book started off indulgent and getting to lick all the remaining honeycomb. But the slow burn, the sacrifice, the restraint. This series is everything. These characters are so full of life, the banter is witty and makes you just fall in love with the entire story. Beautifully written, and absolutely heart wrenching by the end. This one had me smirking, laughing, crying, and ready to jump in the fight right along side them. THANK GOD all 3 books are done because I would be truly unwell if left to sit and wait without it. So so honored to be an ARC reader for this series. This is it. This is the next series that breaks it all.

I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I had a really good time with this one. The writing is easy to get into, and the dialogue flows naturally, especially the back-and-forth between characters.

The plot hooked me pretty quickly. The forced proximity and yearning were done right, which is always a win for me. Some outcomes were predictable, but there were also moments that caught me off guard, so it never felt flat or boring.

Eryndor… yeah. That’s yearning done right. The kind that really makes you feel the weight of “what are you willing to sacrifice.” Amaria was more frustrating at times, a bit rash and wishy-washy. But when they were truly aligned with each other and fully bonded, it was so good. I just wish it had lasted longer.

Overall, really enjoyable and definitely worth the read. I’m excited to see where the third book goes.

I’m staring into the void. I’m possibly going to have to come back and add to this after I have processed everything. I’m feeling so many emotions right now.

This is an epic book 2. It does exactly what you need out of a middle book in a trilogy. It takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll rage.

Amaria and Eryndor. Ugh these two. I’ve never seen a pair more determined to punish themselves and protect the other at the detriment of their own survival. If a martyr complex could be personified it would be these two. Their chemistry just builds and builds, ready to combust. We feel them slowly tearing down the walls, then BAM, it all falls apart. Their journey to safety, then right back into danger just keeps you on your toes.

Thank god for Maxx. Bless his little chaotic heart, bringing humor at all the right times to get us through the pain and frustration. Poor Serenya, my heart is breaking for her. Also I can’t wait to see what happens with these two plus Dreadscale!?

The plot twist, the reveals (I am proud I predicted the two big ones) but man they hit hard! I was literally yelling at my screen I KNEW IT!!!!!

The ending, the prophecy …. I know book 2 shattered us so that book 3 we can rage and burn it all down to rebuild what it should have been all along.

I’m so glad I have the arc for 3 to start on immediately. The author is merciful and is releasing them all together so you should add this trilogy to your TBR pronto!

Tropes:
- forced proximity
- One horse
- Found family
- Banter
- Yearning
- Court politics & betrayal

Favorite Quotes:
- I will do it every time. I will throw myself in front of every arrow, every blade, every apocalypse. I will do it until there’s nothing left of me to throw.
- You are the only thing in this kingdom I would burn it all down to keep you
- "I have wanted to worship you like this since the first time you bared your teeth at me. I have held the weight of kingdoms." His voice was rough and he wrapped his hand around my throat and met my eye. "Nothing has brought me to my knees but you."

SPOILERS BELOW:
- I can’t wait to see her power really come out
- Eryndor a Prince , he needs to become kind with Amaria at his side
- I can’t believe she didn’t see everything he was doing for her ???????? She just let them severe the bond because she can’t stop thinking she’s a Posion??????
- the prophecy !? She thinks they have to repair the bond AND DIE ??????
- Caden , oh poor Caden. How he survived all that and is still the best brother. I’m so glad Amaria has him back and that he knows how worthy Eryndor is!
- Serenya poor girl!!! Her memory loss. At least she has a new puppy .
- also WHAT IS UP WITH HER MAXX AND DREADSCALE?????
- I hope the king gets what he deserves, the princess disappears and the bond doesn’t kill them.

I am sitting here staring at the final page of The Lost Thread, and I honestly don't know how to move on with my life. If you thought the first book was high stakes, just prepare yourself, because this one is a total emotional wrecking ball.

The "forced proximity" trope is done so well here. Because Amaria and Eryndor are magically tethered, they literally can't be more than six feet apart without the bond snapping and causing absolute agony. Watching them navigate that—from bickering while sharing a single horse to the mandatory "recharge" sessions where they just have to sit and touch—was absolute perfection. The tension is just simmering on every single page, and seeing their walls slowly come down was so rewarding.

But honestly, it’s the found family that got me the most. The dynamic between Amaria, Eryndor, Maxx, Serenya, and Dreadscale is everything. I went from laughing at Eryndor "executing" carrots with military precision for a mediocre stew to crying over Serenya’s heartbreaking struggle with her memory loss. That "stolen lemon tart" scene was such a sweet, human moment in the middle of a literal apocalypse.

Also, can we talk about the Hunter? That reveal absolutely floored me. Finding out it was Caden all along was such a gut-punch, and the scenes in the dungeon were so visceral and heavy.

Fair warning: the ending is BRUTAL. The "Ceremonial Purification" scene completely broke me, and I’m still not okay with the sacrifice Amaria had to make to save her friends. Celeanne Dorrington has this way of making you care so deeply for these characters before putting them through the absolute ringer. If you love epic fantasy with a unique magic system and a plot that keeps you guessing, you need this on your shelf. I’ll just be over here counting down the days until the final book!

Welcome back to Navhalir… and welcome to my emotional breakdown.

Celeanne Dorrington really said “let’s emotionally destroy my reader today” and honestly?? Mission accomplished.

This book had EVERYTHING. The world-building continues to be absolutely stunning. Every time I pick up one of Dorrington’s books, I feel like I’m walking beside Amaria and the crew. Navhalir feels alive in the best way possible.

Max was elite comedic relief in this one because I was laughing out loud constantly. And Dreadscale?? Between his all-knowing ancient intelligence and the scenes with the dog, I was obsessed. He checks every single one of my boxes at this point. Could not love him more at this point.

But let’s talk about the emotional DAMAGE.
Because Serenya?? Her memory leakage has me STRESSED. That is my ride or die and I need answers immediately. And the vines for bonded souls in the woods?? Such an imaginative concept that allowed Maxx's comedy to shine 😂. Also… excuse me while I spiral wondering Serenya is entering a why choose situation because I NEED TO KNOW MORE.

The tether between Amaria and Eryndor was phenomenal. The tension, the connection, the emotions — ALL OF IT. And Eryndor absolutely stole the show for me this time around. I already knew he was calculating and intelligent, but this book really showcased just how much of a mastermind he is. I feel like his walls FINALLY broke!

And THE BROOM CLOSET SCENE???
I was screaming FINALLY…
Only for Dorrington to immediately crush my hopes and dreams afterwards. RUDE. 😭

The balance between humor, tension, heartbreak, and fantasy was done so well. This series continues to pull me deeper into the world and I genuinely cannot stop thinking about these characters.

Thankfully, I already have book three because after that ending?? I would not have survived the wait.

Book two is an absolute triumph. While the first installment focused heavily on world-building and lore, this middle book shifts into a deeply character-driven story that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster where you will laugh, cry, and rage in equal measure.
The forced proximity and magical tethering between Amaria and Eryndor create incredible, simmering tension. Because they cannot be more than six feet apart without intense agony, every scene is loaded with friction. Watching them share a single horse, bicker, or navigate mandatory touch-based "recharge" sessions is perfection. They are the ultimate martyrs, determined to protect each other even at the detriment of their own survival.
What truly anchors the story is the found family dynamic. Between Eryndor "executing" carrots for a meager stew, the sweet stolen lemon tart scene, and Serenya’s heartbreaking struggle with memory loss, the characters feel incredibly real and endearing. Luckily, Maxx is there to bring chaotic humor and keep us from breaking entirely.
The plot twists—especially the reveal that Caden is the Hunter all along and the visceral dungeon scenes—are gut-punches that leave you yelling at the pages. Celeanne Dorrington knows exactly how to make you care deeply for these characters before putting them through the absolute wringer.
Fair warning: the ending is brutal. The Ceremonial Purification scene and Amaria's sacrifice left me completely shattered, and it's a true five-star masterpiece of fantasy and emotional damage. Thankfully, all three books are already out, so you won't have to wait to see how it all burns down and gets rebuilt in book three.

The Lost Thread was a fun sequel. I recieved this arc and I had high hopes, in many ways Celeanne Dorrington didn't disappoint. Sequels are difficult, there's always the risk of it feeling like a filler or dragging. However, this didn't feel like either of those things. While I had some issues, the majority of which was rectified by the devastating end.
At the start, I felt like it was unnecessary to have the fmc and mmc return to how they were in the first book considering how that first story ended. However, that was easily forgiven though, in seeing how the author was weaving their story together throughout. I ended up enjoying that side of things the most.
There was a deeper look into the lore of the world that I appreciated , but I do think it still feels a bit fractured. There are times where I feel just a touch lost. I believe though that its on purpose, by the third book things that I am questioning will slide into place. It is very much a moment of being like let the story cook.
The connections between characters have become more complex and strengthened which I really loved. And the side characters? Beloved to me. I need to know more on what is happening with them. I was so happy to get more PoV's, some of which were our side characters, I felt like getting those really helped round out the story, made things feel more lived in and rich. Oh, and that ending? My heart broke! I felt so devastated. Over all, I'm giving this 4☆.
There was a tension between the fmc and mmc that reached a boiling point, I'm going to give this a 3🌶. The tension throughout was an excellent push and pull.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this series—except to say you have to read it.

It has officially become one of my all-time favorite reads, and Celeanne Dorrington is now an auto-buy author for me. This is pure gold.

This series completely wrecks you, but in the best way possible. One moment you’re laughing, the next you’re on the verge of tears, and somehow you’re also full of hope while wanting to scream at the characters. It pulls you through every emotion and doesn’t let go.

Amaria and Eryndor’s chemistry is unforgettable, magical and down right HOT. Their connection feels so real that you’re right there with them—rooting for them, hurting for them, and completely invested in every choice they make.

And then there’s Maxx. Honestly, he steals every scene he’s in. He brings the humor at just the right moments and adds so much heart to the story. You can’t help but love him.

The plot just keeps delivering—twists, reveals, long-awaited answers, and secrets you never saw coming. I was cheering out loud when theories were confirmed and literally shouting at the book during the most twisted reveals. Just when you think you’ve figured things out, it hits you again.

And that ending… it absolutely shattered me. I’m so glad I have the next book ready to go, because there’s no way I could wait after that.

With all three books releasing together next month, this series should immediately jump to the top of your TBR. Trust me—you don’t want to miss this one.

Thank you to the author for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Heirs of the Shattered Veil: The Lost Thread by Celeanne Dorrington

Celeanne is on my “must have” list always! Book two is as good as the first. Her writing is so good! You are transported and immersed immediately.
Amaria and Eryndor are now bound together by a bond that is not finished. At the end of the first book, Amaria is fooled by Rebel leader, and basically starts the unmaking of the world.
She, Eryndor, Maxx, Serenya, and Dreadscale escape. They are now trying to stay alive while the Veil destroys everything it touches. The bond which Amaria and Eryndor share is unstable. It only gives them 6 feet to work within.
They are also being tracked by, what they call, the Hunter. The Hunter finds them on more than one occasion but is unable to kill. It is a strange thing.
They eventually go to Liraeth, where Amaria is from. The group finds that they need to understand their power better. And they also find that the bond between Amaria and Eryndor is not so easy to break.
Without giving away the story. Eryndor has a big secret and the group heads back to the Kingdom of Velmyra. The Hunter is also there.
So many twists and turns- secrets that are revealed. This book will have you on the edge of your seat throughout. You will laugh at Maxx’s antics and grow frustrated with Amaria. I cannot wait to read the next and final book. If it is a good as the first two- I cannot wait!

The Lost Thread by Celeanne Dorrington, is book 2 of The Heirs og the Shattered Veil trilogy. The realms of Nhalivar whispers in your ear beckoning you to answer the call. This series is a fantasy book set in a fae world where duality isn't just a split, it is a personality. Each face marked by shadow or light. All are classified by it, made or destroyed depending on your mark and the magics they contain.

The creator promises that this book will wreck and devaste your soul. And she accomplishes this and so much more. You know a book is good when on multiple occasions you run to your mom crying, then laughing and back pages later doing it all again. The chemistry of the characters; their wit, humor and unbreakable bonds of found family are what lures you in. Their hope and fight are what keep you there, willing to fight at their backs against all the corruption.

This series has become one of my top three favorite books of all time. I guarantee they are THE books of 2026. The Lost Thread will devastate your soul, but in the best way. These are 5☆, top tier reads that release soon, all at once. Grab them, devour them and prepare for a ride of a lifetime. Thank you to the author for allowing me to be a part of this journey, and supplying me with an ARC copy. You are truly as fantastical as the worlds you weave masterfully into existence. You have stolen my allegiance and gifted so much more.

I received ARC copies of books 2 and 3 in exchange for my honest review. I will be reviewing them together since that is how i received them.

The further in to this series I got, the more I loved it. Don't get me wrong, I did like the first book in this series, but I did not LOVE it. I felt there were some slow parts that had my mind drifting and not fully capturing my attention. These 2 most definitely made up for it!!! I felt every single part of the main story with Amaria and Eryndor centered around longing, forced proximity, yearning, and tension. And lets also throw in the guilt over being the downfall of all magic and essentially the world right on top of that. The character development and world building is top notch and done really really well. It had me turning pages at a speed that could've caused physical harm and I literally could not put it down. I read both books in a day and a half. I also loved the development with the side characters and how you could feel how important their story was to the FMC.....almost more important to her than her own story. And then to throw in "That other" character (I won't give that away!). I will be thinking about this story for a long time to come, and I hate that it is over so soon! But, I will say that this series is a definite must read. And above that, if you weren't 100% sold after the first book, I beg you to keep going because it was absolutely fantastic!

🌶

🖤Forced proximity
⚔️ Enemies to lovers
🖤 Fated mates
⚔️ Found family
🖤Banter for dayssss
⚔️ The slowest of slow burns

The First Scar ended with a cliffhanger that had me wanting to drop all adult responsibilities in favor of picking up The Lost Thread. I exercised a tiny bit of willpower 😏 but it was a welcome relief to know that book 2 picks up right where book 1 left you dangling.

Admittedly, I am not an epic journey girlie and The Lost Thread trends that way for about half of the book. Don't get me wrong, it was still a good time, but I wish the journey would have been shorter (heck, our characters probably wished the same 😅)

The First Scar was world building and laying the ground work for the epic plot of this trilogy. The Lost Thread focused more on the characters and their dynamic while still delivering a sequel that may have been arguably better than the first book 🤔 I'm ready for The Binding to bring it all home!

Some of my favorite moments, and why you should read The Lost Thread:
*Maxx losing the bet with Serenya and paying Eryndor a compliment 🫶
*Dreadscale and the teacups 😂
*Eryndor making a deal with the devil,er, his dad 😬
*Maxx's comedic relief throughout the whole book (can you tell I'm into the funny guys?!) 🤣
*Finding out what's in the King's dungeons in an unmarked cell 🤯
...and so many more moments!

I’m honestly at a loss for words after finishing Book 2. This installment had me laughing one moment, crying the next, and completely on edge the entire time. The emotional highs and lows were relentless, and the sacrifices each character had to make felt both devastating and necessary.

Amaria and Eryndor’s journey across the realm in search of safety ultimately leads them right back into danger, pulled once again under the King’s control after a crushing betrayal. Watching Amaria struggle under his power while Eryndor desperately tries to make things right adds a layer of tension that never lets up.

What really stood out to me in this book was the chemistry between them finally coming to life. After everything they’ve been through, their connection feels earned, intense, and impossible to ignore. It adds so much weight to every decision they make and every sacrifice they face.

This book really asks: how much can someone sacrifice for their happily ever after? And more importantly… is it ever truly enough?

By the time the new prophecy is revealed, there’s a lingering sense of dread that refuses to fade. If Amaria is right, what lies ahead may be far more heartbreaking than anything they’ve already endured.

This is my review after receiving an ARC from Her Majesty!

STOP IT. How am I expected to leave a review here and look semi-professional while I'm ugly crying in my anime pajamas?! I can't work under these conditions!
Dreadscale... I still love you but what was this?!
I'm morally obligated to stitch together some semblance of a review here- but just know, my heart is already opening book 3, demanding to know how this plays out... So here goes...
As cruel as it was to take my heart out, and not even tear it in two- the author took pieces and scattered them to every corner of this kingdom- I'm more invested than I was even in the first book (when I met Dread and called dibs). We get answers to some of the big questions we stayed up pondering in the first book, but they open doors to more questions. Questions I have to have answered! Our FMC didn't fall victim to the typical downward spiral most do; becoming a blubbering victim when she's supposed to be a force. And the series blessedly didn't fall in to the typical book 2 slump.
I apologize for my chaotic review. Between the thrill of finding a new author to love, book 3 glaring at me and it being 2am, I'm a little hysterical. But what am I not? A quitter. (Unless we talk about my diet, those demon squats or my first marriage but I digress.) So on to book 3!!

There are some stylistic writing choices throughout that irritate me a little but I understand the placement of them, since they're usually portraying the narrator's thoughts at the time. They didn't irritate me enough to force me to stop reading!

I cried. Quite a bit. I am so happy that we got to learn more about Amaria and Eryndor. The struggle of their emotions, wanting to let go but being afraid to, is so painful to read, but beautiful and real. We do see more of Serenya, Dreadscale and Maxx in this book too. Not much more about where they are from and why they left but we see their personalities shine in this book. I love all of them so much. I was a little disappointed with how weak Serenya seemed to be in this book, because she definitely seemed more like a burden than an asset. But, she is supposed to be sick, so I get it. And her found-family loves her, so of course they want to protect her (I mean, I want to protect them all at all costs and they're fictional characters, but I love them that much!). I really loved the little bits of normalcy we see sprinkled in amongst the chaos of everything going on around them.

Moving on to book three now! I'm ready to have my heart abused some more (but fingers crossed for a happy ending).

First off, thank you so much to the author for this ARC! And a chance to get to know these characters and this story.

THIS. BOOK. I have never cackled so much at character banter, but Eryndor interacting with Maxx and Amaria was just *chef's kiss*. 🤣🤌The whole potato commentary was by far one of my favorite scenes.

This story took a slightly unpredictable turn with the Hunter being Amaria'a brother. I admit I didnt pay too much attention to his stuff in the first book, but I should know better BECAUSE WHEN I MADE THE CONNECTION AND WAS RIGHT, THE GASP I GASPED!!😱😱😱

My heart broke when Dreadscale found those dragons all just skeletons.... and taking the life of the pne that was still alive. I cried 😭😭 There had better be more alive somewhere!

Also, I feel like I'm sensing a budding romance between Max and Serenya...

I absolutely LOVED the character growth with everyone. But especially Eryndor. Watching his facade crack little by little as he gave into the bond between him and Amaria.... and the end where he said he couldn't save the bond, but he could save her blood? Why dont you just stick a freaking knife into my heart!!!

The Lost Thread by Celeanne Dorrington is exactly how romantasy should be done. While the first book focused heavily on building the world and setting the stage, this installment dives deep into what truly makes a story unforgettable: character interaction and development.
This book takes you through the full spectrum of emotions. One moment you’re laughing at the sharp, effortless banter between characters, and the next you’re on edge or ready to scream. That kind of emotional range is rare, and Dorrington executes it flawlessly.
The dynamic between Amaria and Eryndor is compelling and beautifully written, but I’ll admit, I’m quietly rooting for a twist in the romance moving into book three. There’s so much potential for something unexpected, and I’m excited to see where it goes.
And then there’s Dreadscale. Without question, one of the standout characters of the series so far. Complex, intriguing, and impossible to ignore, I cannot wait to see more of him in the next installment.
If you’re looking for a romantasy that balances emotion, character depth, and genuinely engaging dialogue, this book delivers on every level.

My new favorite book series is “The Heirs of the Shattered Veil” ! This book is so wonderful! I was yearning to read book 2 (The Lost Thread), because book 1
(The First Scar) had me salivating! I mean the layers in this story keeps on growing! Having emotional swings is what Amaria definitely feels throughout the book and I’m glad we can see her soften and actually want for something for herself. I Love, Love, Love the banter and tension between her and Eryndor! The slow burn between the two will have you about to combust! I would recommend and read this book 10 times over. I love how the world building is more in depth and how we see a family form with Amaria, Sereyna, Maxx, Dreadscale, and Eryndor; the twists in this book will have you reading until 3 am in the morning. Ok Ladies,If you need someone that will always put you first, then Eryndor is your man. I’m just still in shock of how great the story is and how I’m still wanting more. I feel like Amaria in her dream, give me more and feed my void! I can’t wait to see how the story ends in book3(The Binding)! Thank You for letting me apart of your Advance Reader Team @Celeanne Dorrington, I’m now totally addicted! 😂

Oh wow! Where to begin...
Book two felt like a continuous punch in the gut. I ached for our characters and the aching wouldn't let up!
There was so much stubbornness and lack of communication between Amaria and Eryndor that I just wanted to shake them and scream at them to just talk and clear the air; set the egos aside!
Serenya, Maxx, and Dreadscale are my favorite characters. Serenya's dynamic and growth with Maxx and Dreadscale has my interest piqued. There is a part where Serenya doesn't remember Maxx and Dreadscale and I definitely got a bit emotional.
Amaria learns what Eryndor's social status truly is and assumes him a liar and makes a series of brash decisions instead of communicating and thinking things through. After arriving at the castle, Amaria is treated cruelly and the king is trying and succeeding to break her.
I will not spoil the ending, but it was very heartbreaking and I really hope that things brighten up in book three...

This book was the best possible follow-up to book 1! This entire series is one of the easiest 5 star reviews I have ever given.

*Update*
I have finished the series and coming back to update my review for book 2. I did binge this series pretty fast, so I'm unintentionally keeping this review spoiler-free because I am mixing up the scenes of book 2 and 3! However, The Lost Thread was so good!! It starts off with the weird computer/robot chapter...I did question why these chapters were written this way, but I promise, stick with the the series through book 3, you'll find out and it's 100% worth it!

There is a pretty large amount of world-building in this book; however, it happens while Amaria and the group is traveling, so it's not as dry as some other books. One of my favorite scenes was the journey through the Sensorium forest; there is some hilarious banter and I was giggling out loud with a grin on my face the entire time!

There is a bit of kidnapping/held hostage scene in this book, which may be sensitive to some readers. I was questioning a lot of Amaria's decisions in this book until the end in her very obvious light-bulb moment where she realizes what was right in front of her the entire time.

If you are looking for a true enemies to lovers, magical, fantasy read with dragons and fae, evil kings and ancient prophecies...get this in your hand or on your TBR!

If Book 1 hooked me (which it did), The Lost Thread has me completely sunk. I am reeling. Celeanne Dorrington has crafted a sequel that is exquisite, agonizing, and impossible to put down.

The slow burn between Amaria and Eryndor is masterfully done. You don't just read about their yearning, fear, and trepidation, you actually feel it. Their connection is the heartbeat of this story, which made certain developments (no spoilers, but IYKYK!) hit that much harder.

Serenya is absolutely breaking my heart; I am rooting for her so hard. Maxx and Dreadscale are exactly the kind of men you want in your corner. The dynamic there is fascinating, dare I hope for a throuple in the future (wink wink)?

I am diving into the final book immediately because I need all the answers RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!

Thank you to Celeanne Dorrington for providing an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5⭐️- Emotionally damaged Arc reader! Yes I did use this headline for the 1st book and I’m
Keeping it for this

Soo glad she’s got book 3, as that cliffhanger is cruel 😂

Whaaaaat just happened! My heart has been shattered! The slow burn is slow burning and when you finally think that the slow burn is an inferno! It gets put out hard….

Absolutely loved this book. I did find one thing in the story line quite predictable, but did it matter? No it didn’t. Loved the different points of View in this book! We finally got alittle bit of Max, would have loved some of Serenya too.

The lore and plot is strong in this one… don’t we all hate that Dam king…

Dreadscale is one of my Favourite characters, he for some reason reminds me of Ray from Road of bones. Incredibly complex and a strong character in this plot driven book. So so glad I’ve got book 3 I’m getting into it right now.

Fans of Road of bones, One dark window and Spark of the Everflame will love this series

OMG! This book broke me!!!💔 After all they went through! 😭 Eryndor & Amaria managed to survive the rupture, the binding, where she had to deal with emotional restrictions of not trusting anyone, and his fear of killing the person he loves if she gets too close. He found out that her brother was alive, she found out that he was a prince with a crown he didn't want. He would trade everything for her and he did. Sacrificed everything for her, and she just found out at the end!! How the King just twister everything to get what he wanted!!!! ..Now she's going to have to admit she was wrong for thinking that Eryndor was choosing a throne. Now she won't let anyone or anything decide between her and Eryndor. She's going to fight tooth and nail to get him back, she's going to fix the Veil because now she's determined to make things right, because she won't let herself lose again, never again!!!!
