The bell has been rung. Something is waking.
Three weeks after returning from the western waystation, Callen Nasinth knows the peace he came home to is already over. The Lord Regent is riding to them in person. A second dragon has appeared on the southern horizon, and it is not the one he hoped for. And the message a dying watcher imprinted on his companion has begun to open, one word at a time — opening now on a place-name Elder Shendra has not heard spoken aloud in forty years.

To reach what sleeps beneath a hillside older than the wars of the corruption, he must cross country that remembers what was done to it, and what the Ember Court's hand was in the doing. He rides with those he trusts — and with his nine-year-old daughter, because a figure at the edge of the firelight in the far western country once told him there would be a fifth, and he has begun to suspect he knows who.

The first 5 books were interesting with a great story line. I wasn’t even sure I was in the same series as this was just so off the mark from the others. It read like a bad biblical archeological dig with SO MANY grammatical errors that the sentences and sometimes entire paragraphs didn’t even make sense. I almost DNF at 50% but pushed through hoping that some of the original story would reappear. Noooope. Y’all can skip this entire book imho. I feel like it was a text to speech installment with ABSOLUTELY NO EDITING or even one single proofreading. I don’t know who gave it a 5 star review but it’s definitely NOT. Sorry guys.Please re-write it, leave out ALL of the boring cataloguing, add more Nora magic and dragon excitement/bonding and let ME edit it.

What a pity. Such a disappointment. I have never given up on a book. I made it to 18% and this book does not appear to have been written by the same author. The style is so very different and it is a very hard read. It appears that the style have been dictated by including a number multiple times in each and every sentence.
I have really enjoyed books 1-6 and all others. But avoid this one. Do not buy waste of money.

What a disappointment!
After enjoying the first 6 books, I found it imposible to grasp this one! I only kept reading, hoping that it would return to the story line from the prior books! I'll start the next one when it is released, but if it starts out like this one, I won't be reading the whole thing! Reading this book felt like reading the memoirs of an LSD tripper! It's sad that the author took such a wrong turn!

I enjoyed the first 6 books a lot but had a hard time getting through this book. I couldn’t follow the actions of the characters or the purpose. I reread so many pages thinking I missed something to explain what they were talking about and almost put the book down to move on to another author. This read for me was a struggle and didn’t enjoy it. I hope book 8 will be like the first ones.

Hard work
Very dissappointing writing style. The only way to follow along was to re-read sections which was difficult.and boring. Its like the authors thought that the people in the books must all speak in riddles and even the authors lost track in their prose. This series syarted off so well. Book 6 was tough and i only barely got thru book 7.
