Across Peldrin, the shadows are lengthening.
Revan Teutevar and Shamus McCaffler are running out of luck and time. After fleeing a duel gone south, the pair of drifters have a price on their heads big enough to make every scoundrel and swordfighter in Vhaleons take notice. With only a self-serving innkeeper’s daughter to help them, they've got one last night to uncover the identity of the mysterious Lucas Sevenday — a merchant who holds all the trade in western Peldrin in his grip — before the tide of the Western War turns in favor of the Imperium League.
The tide in the west, however, may be turning without Sevenday’s help. Lacking the riders to break General Innsbruck’s siege on Fordstown, Captain Nikoma’s hopes for glory have stalled alongside the rest of the Simarru on the warpath. Although she’s distinguished herself battle, the Fates may be pointing her back home, toward both a promotion and an overbearing father. Torn between king and family, only one thing is no matter which way Nikoma turns, war will be waiting.
General Arund is quickly learning he’s not the diplomat he used to be. Fresh off a failed assassination attempt, the White Knight rides back to Hubress and the ever-looming presence of the Shadows, who, along with the rest of his allies, grow more demanding by the day. Victory is in sight, but so are Harlan Longmire and a strange woman who won’t rest until she’s destroyed everything the White Knight has built.

This story is spellbinding and I just love this book. Contains part 1, 2, and 3. Revan and his companions, Brin and Shamus are still on their journey, fraught with danger, betrayal and plenty of action. Trouble seems to find them wherever they go. Revan has vowed he will come into his inheritance no matter what obstacles stand in his way. The problem is too many do not want him to succeed. There is no end to the problems Revan faces. I highly recommend this book. Note: I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review.
