Trauma Drama and the Protective Rancher: A Sweet Small-Town Enemies to Lovers Off-Limits Romance

Rate this book
I came back to Spruce Valley determined to give back to my hometown.

Not start a war with a silver-haired rancher.

As the new ER physician, I see what delayed care costs.

I propose a mobile urgent care clinic to serve the outlying ranches.

Apparently, stubborn ranchers are harder to treat than trauma patients.

Grant Holloway has the influence to make my idea disappear.

When hospital bureaucracy buries the project in red tape, I cheerfully refuse to let it die.

I’m surprised when Grant stands beside me.

Now I’m business partners with a gruff, controlling widower.

Retrofitting a trailer.

Arguing over blueprints and liability waivers.

Working far too close for comfort.

Grant says it’s just business.

The way he watches me tells a different story.

The clinic could change this town.

It could also cost me my job in the ER.

And falling for a man who guards his heart like it’s the last fence line on his ranch?

That might be the biggest risk of all.

Claire returns to her small hometown to work as a doctor in the ER and quickly realizes local ranchers and farmers desperately need better access to medical care. When the hospital board dismisses her idea for a mobile urgent care clinic, she sets out to make it happen herself. Grant, a rancher and grieving widower on the board, understands the need and joins her mission.

This book has a blend of small-town romance and meaningful community impact. Claire’s determination and Grant’s help made them easy characters to root for. A heartfelt story about healing, second chances, and helping others.

Lovely story!

This book just flows off the pages and into your heart. Character, hard work, fear, newness and feelings all wrap you up like a soft blanket.

There is so much merit in everything brought into this book and is still so genuine.

Looking for a book that will make you feel good? This one will be perfect.

Good story

This was an interesting story and I loved the idea of starting a mobile clinic in an outlying ranch setting and the trials it brought from those who didn't like that idea.
