A comet impact leaves the world on the brink of extinction. A billion people are incinerated instantly in the blast, the rest of the earth’s population wither and falter in the aftermath. Toxic ash, fire from the sky, extreme temperatures and then finally … the next ice age.
The northern United States is a frozen tundra.
Anna Jenner is fortunate. Her ex-husband not only has the foreknowledge of the devastating impact, but he has the financial ability to make sure Anna and their son survive. He creates the perfect bunker.
Protocol One.
Along with a select group of experts, Anna is shielded from the horrors of the comet. When the weather stabilizes, fueled by guilt over their own privileged survival, Anna and others set out to find survivors.
The world is a different place. Much different than they imagined. And their surprising discoveries in the outside world pale in comparison to what they discover about Protocol One.
The continuing tale of Protocol One has been a good story. Now I have to wait and watch for a part 3. I'm hoping there's a part 3. This can't be finished yet. Please please please!!
I was hoping this would improve on the first book but Anna remains clueless as ever. I mostly struggle with this series because the main character is fundamental weak and one dimensional. There were typos etc, though not terribly disruptive, and Spencer had a disease change. None of the characters have much development, except for Gwen, which was a bit surprising. Gil's character is the crux of a lot of what is happening, yet we see very little of him to actually try to make a judgment on it. Anna has faith in him but her track record on these things is not very good. Is this the middle book of a trilogy? If not, the ending was a fizzle.
I really enjoyed this book but I would like to see a third one because I feel there were many unanswered questions. I love the characters and the storyline was intense.
Deep Freeze Protocol One Saga #2 Sci-Fi Jacqueline Druga ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I was surprised by alot that happened in this book. There were times where the plot went in a completely different direction to what I thought it would.
I really like the group of survivors at Protocol One. The characters work well together and balance each other out.
The pacing was good and the tension kept me engaged. I was so eager to find out what had happened to Anthony that I couldn't put the book down.
The ending was ok but I thought there was going to be another book so it felt quite abrupt. Hopefully another one will be written in the future
If you have never read Jacqueline Drugas post end of the world novels, you are in for a treat. I say end of the world because there's so many different ways that we could be ended. There are an amazing amount of this authors books awaiting you! I will not do any spoilers, you must read. I suggest that you start with "Protocol One" and the second book in 2 book series. I just read, and can't tell you how much I enjoyed every chapter. The human side of the end is what you will find, and isn't that what you're looking for?
This is another excellent part to this great end of the world EMP comet apocalyptic adventure! Great story, I like the fact lots of things happen but it is not too gruesome! Good selection of characters & ideas! A really good reading experience, which left me wanting the next part asap! I do recommend this & this writer!
This could have been a 5 star rating but that ending.......... <-------- That's how I felt. Left hanging in a bad way. I can only hope we'll get a 3rd book in this series. The ending made me want to leave a 2 star rating but I couldn't in good conscience do it when the rest had been great. Still mad though 😂
I wish gun ignorant authors would allow a firearms expert proof their roughs. At least we did not have the lame Smell Of Cordite . Other than that, pretty good read albeit a very short read.
Love this author’s books…but I am feeling like the book2 was rushed. This book or series could go so much further. The ending really left me wanting to know how her plan worked out, did it all happen the way she planned at the end?
I read a lot of apocalyptic novels and this was an enjoyable read. There were a lot of typing errors and grammatically incorrect passages which did frustrate me a little, but overall a good read .
Where is Book 3? A good continuation of Book 1, but there is absolutely no resolution of the story. It cuts off and leaves a ton of unanswered questions and unresolved plot points, so frustrating and disappointing in the end.
Loved this book! It's sad there isn't a third installment. The book ending makes you think there would be. Questions are left unanswered. There's still more story.

This was an interesting story and frightening to think of. The characters awaken from stasis and have to wait a couple of days for some of their memory to come back. They don't know where they are; why they are their; who they are. When the lock on the door releases them from the underground shelter they were in they find that things did not go as planned. They are considered the best and brightest minds of their time and so were kept in stasis to secure the future of mankind. How long have they been held? Where's their families? What went wrong? What has happened to humankind? And most important, how will they make it from here out? An interesting storyline that had me from page one and I need to know what happens next!
After a trip to a nearby city leads to their Humvee being stolen and one of their party being seriously injured, they return to the bunker knowing that something is wrong. When the man responsible for creating the bunker wants to exile the 3 people that went to the rescue of those trapped in the city, against his permission, and document found on a phone point to a group that wants to grab the survivors as slave labor as part of the rebuilding. But it is up to them to find out who is doing it, the government or the person that created the shelter and what that find is not what they expected.
This is a shorter book than the first one, and though I wish it was longer it still continued on with while keeping my attention through the entire book. I recommend reading this book.
This was not what I expected in the 2nd book. The main character still is making rash decisions without any regard for the results. The number of errors in spelling, wrong words, words omitted were not acceptable. I would expect that Druga would have a proofreader, but it's apparent she does not. It makes for frustrating reading at times. I usually give 5 stars for this author, but the books I have read lately seem to be getting worse as far as errors go. I also did not care for the ending, which wasn't really an ending at all. I'm not sure if she intends on a book 3 or not, but she certainly didn't tie up the ending on this one.
This is one of my favorite series! Book 1 introduced us to the characters who become a family when a comet hits the earth and survival becomes the most important thing. Book 2 continues with their survival but also with the building of a new community. I was never disappointed in any way!! These books draw you in so much that you forget you are reading a book and begin to feel as if you are actually in the story. I can't wait for Book 3!!
Looked for the third in the series but couldn't find one. Would LOVE to read what happens next. Great two books, would highly recommend especially for anyone into SHTF asteroids. 😃
Deep Freeze is the second post apocalyptic book in the Protocol One Saga written by author Jacqueline Druga. I hope there will be a third. Some typos but great story.
I'm not sure if I'll continue this series. It's not poorly written but the main characters never develop. They are very one dimensional and they never learn from their mistakes.
I am enjoying this series. Parts are moving fast but there is a lot of good character development with lots of plot twists. Hopefully the next installment expounds on the story line some more.
This story was good. The beginning took me a little time to get into but it was worth sticking to. I'm excited to read the next book. Hope it's been written.
