Love will make you fight for things you never thought would cost you this much. And nobody knows that better than Kenyatta Duke.
Loss after loss has pushed him to a place he never wanted to be. With his family hidden away and danger closing in from every side, revenge is the only thing keeping him moving. Pre has taken too much, and Kenyatta is done letting him control the outcome. Now he is back in the streets, determined to settle things once and for all.
But taking down a man like Pre was never going to be simple.
Especially not with old enemies resurfacing, exes stepping back into the picture, and chaos coming from every direction. Kenyatta is trying to bring his family back home and get life back under control, but in the gritty streets of Chicago, power, loyalty, and revenge never move without blood being attached to it.
And if he is not careful, he might become just another casualty in somebody else’s war.
C’yan is trying her hardest to adjust to the life she never saw coming. But loving Kenyatta is proving to be just as complicated as she feared. Fear is already sitting heavy on her chest, and his shifty behavior is making her question everything between them. The more distance she feels, the more she starts to recognize the same painful patterns that nearly destroyed her in her last relationship.
And C’yan already promised herself she would never go through that again.
Now she has to decide if this is just another storm they have to push through or the beginning of the kind of damage love cannot fix.
Aries is carrying more than he lets anybody see. Between fatherhood, a bitter baby mama, and the threat of Pre still hanging over everything, he is stretched thin. After everything that happened with La’Dawn, he told himself he was done. Done with the drama. Done with the feelings. Done with anything that could pull him off balance.
But some women do not leave your heart just because they leave your life.
And when the truth finally comes out, Aries will have to decide if walking away is really what he wants.
La’Dawn is doing her best to make sense of a situation that keeps getting messier by the day. Love has failed her before, and this time the pain cuts even deeper. Between Aries giving her the cold shoulder and his ratchet baby mama doing everything she can to make things harder, La’Dawn is being pushed to her limit.
Now she has choices to make.
Will she keep fighting for the love she still wants… or finally walk away before this situation breaks her for good?
On the mean streets of Chicago, nothing stays the same for long. Lines get crossed. Loyalty gets tested. And love is put through the fire in ways nobody saw coming.
Now the only question left is who will make it out whole… and who will lose everything before this war finally ends.
Perfect for readers who love African American romance, hood empire drama, dominant alpha males, and second chance love stories set in the streets of Chicago.

Snatched Up By A Hood Menace 2: An Unhinged Romance The Finale
(2.5) This was just ok. I liked part one better. Aries & even La’Dawn brought some much needed comedic relief, and Cy’an was a solid FMC. The kind that’s loyal and stands on business (for the most part). The pacing also kept things moving; I stayed engaged even when it became clear certain plot points weren’t going to be fully developed.
That said, the main villain from Book 1 was handled a bit anticlimactically in the first half, and while it was hinted that there was another villain, the situation wasn’t addressed beyond a single sentence in the epilogue which left me with too many unanswered questions. I assumed that with the threat eliminated early, the romance would pick up but both couples spent most of the book at odds. Aries and La’Dawn do eventually reconcile, but we never actually see the moment that gets them there. And Kenyatta stays selfish and emotionally unsure regarding C’yan for most of the book (93%!!) I really hated that Cy’an folded for him especially considering everything she sacrificed in her past. I wanted her to stand firmer and make him work for her!!! Like she even said I love you first. Yuck.
Still, the book didn’t lack entertainment. The drama and mess were consistent from beginning to end, and it was an easy read overall. Even with its gaps, it keeps your attention. I just think a lot of balls were dropped and to “wrap it up” the author just tosses a bone in the epilogue.
Because the first was pretty much the intro I thought the second one would’ve been better but not for me
It felt like this book dragged, and none of the couples fix what they were had going through until 90% of the book was read. And they didn’t even fix it. They just brushed over it with a little to none conversation about it
Kenyatta going to see Heaven again so close to the end of this book pissed me off and then he didn’t even tell Cy about it when he said he was
And Why didn’t we get the results for Aria DNA test like the DNA test wasn’t even mentioned in this book it just was applied she looked just like Aries but no confirmation and his last chapter from the first book said he was waiting on the results so I thought we were getting them in this one
And Pre situation was wrapped up too fast. It made it seem like it was some fishy stuff going on with the rest of the family, but that wasn’t a touchdown.
Overall, this book just felt incomplete in a way how everything goes wrapped up
Just to find out the two women He was in a ploy life were snakes frfr both got their karma...And his baby Princeton got himself killed ...
Both couples went through but finally got handle on thier relationships Now have their own Lil family...
Jade sis and her parents only wanted the kids because they were losing everything how could yall take care of kids with nowhere to love make it make sense...
Wonder what happened to his dad but I kinda knew his dad didn't treat him right so he cut him off....
I am definitely hoping for an update or holiday book about them all. This was the perfect sequel. Cy and Kenyatta had to decide to be honest with themselves and their feelings. La’Dawn and Aries had uncomfortable conversations and trying to decide if they working towards being together or letting it all go. Monica needed jail in her life and Nina needed a reality check. Pre was crazy and should’ve just tried to get to know his folks.
Baby cyn and la didn’t play with disrespect cause they both would put belt to ssa lol and I was thinking Emilio was behind the threat to the duke’s because he found pre too fast for my liking just sad mo and his wife and jade kenza had to leave behind the people they loved because of greed I loved how you 🖊️ this series
I waited on this finale and was not disappointed! J. Dominique is such a beast with the pen. There’s literally never been a story I couldn’t finish. Snatched up by a hood menace, the finale was filled with so much drama from baby mamas, opps looking for revenge, love and lust. Babyyyyyy I loved it all. Great way to end the series.
I felt part 2 was rushed after a certain point. The whole story revolved around who was trying to take him out. They left that hanging until the epilogue. Not cool. Also, more storyline should have revolved around the father in jail. All in all it was worth reading.
This was a great ride. It had so many plot twist Both couples went through slot to.be with each other. I was,A little disappointed when you didn't go into detail about La getting Nina I had been waiting in that.
This was a great read. I didn’t like how everything ended with Pre so quickly with an honorable mention at the end. However, everything about the book was good! I absolutely loved Aries
I really enjoyed the pace of the first book, and although this book was great, the ending felt rushed. It would’ve been nice to see how other people were apart of trying to eliminate the Dukes.
