This is such a soft, clean and beautiful Christian romance. I found myself smiling through most of it.
Anwi and Emil's journey felt so real. Two people at different stages in their faith, yet drawn to each other in a way that just works. I loved how their relationship was built on patience, respect, and growth.
Even though it's set in Cameroon, it felt very familiar, like a Nigerian story with all the shared culture and vibe.
What really stood out for me was how the book handled faith. It wasn't preachy at all, but somehow it still left me feeling closer to God.
Another thing I loved about this book is that the writing is vivid. I could picture scenes clearly, almost like watching a film. The characters felt real too, like people I already know.
I also appreciated that their relationship wasn't written as perfect. They had misunderstandings, moments of defensiveness, and emotional blind spots, especially on Emil's part. But those struggles made their connection feel more real.
Watching Emil slowly learn vulnerability, honesty, and partnership while Anwi learned patience without losing herself made their relationship feel mature and believable.
BIWR is a sincere story about love, growth, vulnerability, and finding God for yourself. I throughly enjoyed the book, and I highly recommend.
