A critical analysis of the conceptions of and treatments for attention deficit disorder and other learning disabilities in children. Although meant for parents of afflicted children, the effective treatments presented apply equally to afflicted adults.

Learning disabilities are defined generally, then individually. Generally, they are psychic afflictions that cause a discrepancy between one's general intelligence and academic performance. Every poor student does not have a learning disability.

Treatments are evaluated based on experimental rather than anecdotal evidence. Evidence is evaluated based on the scientific rigidity of the experiment. The authors are not selling any thing, excepting perhaps the scientific method. Effective treatments are justified. Ineffective and unsubstantiated treatments are exposed as such.

Myths and facts are contrasted in clear terms. The presentation is formulaic and therefore easy to consume.
