How do you tell the girl next door that you are in love with her when you're a shy sixteen-year-old boy? You don't - you text her! But Colton soon finds that when it comes to matters of the heart, it's best not to leave your fate in the hands of technology.
Kai Michaels, in her romantic comedy debut novel, creates a hilarious story of friendship and first love aimed at the hearts of today's texting generation.
Colton was a bit of a crazy character for me, and so was his friend Mo. I got that there’d been a mix-up, but he just kept digging a bigger and bigger hole for himself. Every time he did something that made things worse I cringed, and sat there exclaiming at my kindle (which made my 4-year-old very curious as to what I was going on about).
Anyway, the storyline was okay, but I really did want to knock some sense into this kid at times! On the plus side, this book did make me laugh though, which was just what I needed.
The ending to this was possibly a little too much of a happily ever after for me, as it didn’t seem very realistic, but it wasn’t too bad. 6 out of 10
I really didn't know what Colton was playing at in this. A text went wrong, and I get that he felt embarrassed by it, but instead of owning up to it, he made things a lot worse. He carried on pretending to be someone else and he came up with stupid ideas to get out of it without actually owning up to it.
The ending was alright, but I can't say I'd have the same reaction.
Overall, Not a bad read, but I didn't really like the main character.
This was a cute and heartwarming story even though at times I felt like he was being incredibly stupid. I mean really?! How can you let something like that build and build and go on for so long?
Anyway. The book itself was well written and kept my interest. It was the right length and I enjoyed the characters included in it. I hope to read another book by the author one day:)
An absolutely ridiculous read but heart-warming and undeniably cute nonetheless. I loved how real and raw it was. It made me laugh, especially when it came to Mo. He was such a fantastic and delightful character! The main couple were cute and little odd - a wonderful combination anyway you look at it. An easy read that I'd recommend quickly to someone wanting a quick young contemporary novel to flick through.
I loved this story! It was cute, funny and short; just my perfect quick getaway from school and work. The whole mess starts when Colton texts his best friend, Annie, a love confession from his new cell... but Annie totally thinks it's another guy! After that everything pretty much goes downhill for poor Colton. I also had a blast with Mo, Colton's guy best friend. He was always so chillax and funny. I loved him! And then he wants to go all Dr. Phil and... well you'll see what happens there. (Amazing buns! Ha! Cracked up hard.) Colton is a case my friends. He's only trying to help Annie, but at the same time trying to make it work out for him and that is a sinking ship. The plot was fresh, funny, cute and it had a lot of innocence which I loved. It's a very short and quick read, two hours tops, but very enjoyable. I definitely recommend it.
This was a cute and fun read. I feel that the ending was very rushed and not particularly satisfying. The characters didn't seem to learn much from all of their messing around with peoples lives. It was just too happy suddenly.
I really enjoyed reading about all of the mishaps and cringed as yet more went wrong. I can definitely see something like this happening in real life. Hopefully not quite like this. I'm not sure this was the intent, but it definitely shows how our societies today are addicted to technology. The fact that it took people days to figure it out and that it was so much easier for everyone to communicate through text.
Mo was fantastic. His character was the best part of the entire story. I would read more just for him alone. Colton and Annie were cute and complimented each other in nice ways, I just wasn't crazy about what happened with them. And neither of them could compare with Mo. Overall it was a fun read.
“Life, Love, and Texting” is about a boy named Colt who is in love with his best friend Annie. They’ve known each other ever since they were babies. Colt wants to tell Annie how he feels but he doesn’t know how. Colt decides to text her about how he feels. When she gets the text, she thinks it is from the most popular guy in school. Will she ever know who it is really from? Find out in “Life, Love, and Texting: A Teenage Love Story” by Kai Michaels. I recommend this book to people who like comedy and romance.
Love, Life, and Texting was a good book. While reading this book you are reminded about the out comes of life when one little misunderstanding will take you one the ride of your life. When you pick up this book you will find that 15 year old Colton, Mo, and Annie are taking on the cyber ride of there lives when a little mettaling goes wrong while trying to spread the love thorugh out everyones lives.
The book started out quite interestingly and it was really enjoyable. Halfway through, however, it started repeating and I became pretty sure that my guesses about the ending had been right. I did enjoy the characters though and I do think the author's writing has some potential and she should continue. Overall, the book didn't exceed my expectations, but it didn't stay below them either.
This story kind of annoyed me from the beginning. I don't understand the lying. I don't understand why he didn't just tell her to begin with it was him. Instead the whole book was one lie after another. It made me mad. So I only gave the book 2 stars, since the story frustrated me so much.
A quick adorable read! Colton means to send a text message to his long time friend, who he has discovered his is in love with. Things get out of control when she thinks the message is from the hot jock in school. A fun young adult novel, suitable for all ages!
I really didn't like the ending.. are they together or no? do they stay together? how does everything work out? but easy read and loved the character Mo
I liked the book. The book was funny and the story plots are amusing. It make me wonder what I would do if I, or a friend were in a situation like the one the book protrays.
I really didn't like this book at all. It was a very boring book It wasn't well written at all. They jumped around a lot in the book with the setting and people. I don't suggest reading it.
