Tor

My life was mapped out and planned to perfection. I knew exactly what I wanted and where I was going, until I was thrust into his world and ripped from mine. In the blink of an eye everything shattered, proving to be nothing more than a cheap illusion. Now I’m living in this twisted form of hell, where enemies and friends are one and the same. I thought I wanted perfection. Now I don’t know what I want - perhaps not even my own freedom.

Jude

I'm the definition of wrong. I'm violent, I'm greedy, and I stop at nothing to win. I'm a notorious bookie and in my game paying with your life is not just a figure of speech. You lose, I collect. I take whatever you have. She’s collateral for a debt, and if that debt's not paid someone will die. This should be just business, so why can’t I kill her?
Everything is not always as it seems.

Lust. Blood. Lies.

Nothing this wrong should feel so right.

“Wrong” was dark-ish, crazy, intense and for the most part a fast-paced read. Honestly reading the blurb I expected something a little darker, but the unconventional relationship and later the romance between the two main characters made this read pretty enjoyable to me. This was my second book by this two authors and while I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first book I’ve read from them, I liked it. While the premise and even the plot for the most part were nothing new for this kind of read, the two characters and also the chemistry between them were entertaining.

“Money, murder, and lies are all part of this business, and my family has been at it for going on three generations.”

Jude is a notorious bookie. He doesn’t have any morals, he doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong, he’s a criminal. He is powerful and feared.

Victoria ‘Ria’/’Tor’ left her home in England to come in USA to study. She’s been a resident in the ER for nine months and she dreams to become a doctor. Her life change completely when she is offered up as a collateral by her boyfriend, and a**hole who owns a lot of cash to a dangerous man, Jude. Jude doesn’t deal with women. He always had a soft spot for them, so when he finds out about Ria he’s not very happy. Ria can tell Jude is a dangerous man, but she can’t deny his touch makes her feel warm and fuzzy.

“I don’t want to be affected by him. I hate him, I want to kill him, but the way his body is pressed against mine, the way he touches me as if he owns me, it has my heart trying to escape my chest, and my lungs struggling for breath.”

description

Jude had to deal with this new ‘situation’, with these new protective feelings he seems to have for Ria and also with the man who murdered his family years ago.

I liked this one…for the most part. I would have liked a little more suspense, but overall it was a good read. The story is told from both Jude and Ria’s perspective which I enjoyed. Jude was more an anti-hero than a hero in this first installment. I think his character was portrayed pretty well and I liked the fact that he has ‘the chance’ to become a redeemable character. He was violent, ruthless and he acted like a caveman numerous times. He clearly is not a good man, not even with our heroine. At least at first.

“Even the devil needs something to break through his darkness at times. And that’s what Tor does...she rips through my darkness.”

As the story unfolds, and Jude’s and also Ria’s feelings for each other start to change, their relationship becomes something else entirely. I really enjoyed how naturally everything between them progressed. I’m not sure it was believable since it happened in a relatively short amount of time, but well it’s fiction so I wasn’t bothered too much. Ria was a likeable heroine. She was tough and feisty, but I have to say there were a couple of time when I wanted to slap her pretty face. At times her recklessness and also her naivety got on my nerves. Needless to say she made me roll my eyes a little.

What I really, really enjoyed was the explosive chemistry between these two. Damn…they were scorching hot together. I couldn’t get enough! This aspect was fantastically done IMO and the sex scenes were hot as hell.

The story ends with a cliffhanger, very predictable, but I’m still looking forward to find out how the story will progress.

Overall, a good read!

Victoria is a young British woman on the path of completing her residency in the States. She finds herself in the hands of some really bad guys when her idiot boyfriend offers her up as collateral to his bookie’s men.

The story is told in alternating povs of Victoria and Pace, the head of this bookie grouping. I did like how we were gifted both characters povs and I did like Victoria’s feisty spiel. I liked the attraction and slowly established chemistry because that really explodes…

”This is fucking wrong,” I groan against her lips as I yank her sweatpants off. “Everything with you is wrong,” she says, her nails scratching down my neck to my shoulders. Fuck me!

description

“I’m gonna fuck you until you’re just as wrong as I am,” I growl.”

This story does end in a completely predictable cliffhanger and I’m on the fence as to whether or not I’ll bother with the next book. There were things I liked about the story and some that felt standard issue so to say for this type of story.

“I’m wrong for what I’ve done to her, and I fear I’m wrong for letting her leave me like this, but the thing is, I’ve never known how to be right. This is all I know, and I know she doesn’t belong in the middle of it.”

Unexpectedly Fabulous!

I absolutely loved this book! I can't say that it was particularly dark. Although it did have some dark themes, it wasn't nearly as dark as I'd expected. It didn't leave me with that warm, fuzzy feeling of contentment. In fact, the ending is unsettling. Nonetheless, I am completely captivated by this story.

When Victoria is offered up as collateral by her douchebag boyfriend in exchange for his bad gambling debts, she could never imagine the turn her life would take. From doctor to dead girl walking, everything she knows changes in the blink of an eye. The old Ria ceases to exist, replaced by the tougher Tor that rose from her ashes.

Over the course of her captivity, two brothers capture her heart. Caleb, the sweet younger brother becomes her best friend and only source of solace. Meanwhile, she longs for Jude, the fierce and dangerous bookie and head of the crime family. She knows she should hate him, but finds herself drawn to him in spite of all the horrible things he's done.

The book has a suspenseful, mysterious feel to it, with an enemy mob boss out for blood and Victoria caught in the crosshairs. At some point the tables turn, with captor turning into protector. Go or stay, Victoria isn't safe.

This is the first book in the series and does end with a cliffhanger. I will be reading the second book 'Wrath' straightaway to find out what happens. I'm hoping that Tor and Jude get their vengeance and their HEA. I completely fell in love with their unconventional love story.

This was a cray cray ride!! Totally unexpected.. This book blew my mind, sooooo fucking good!! It plays with your head big time, which is the fucked up part, like Tor I wanted to sucker punch Jude in the nuts then kick him whilst he was down!! But then at the end I wanted to be his captive!!
He comes across like a hardened asshole but slowly cracks start opening up and you see a softer side to him and that's what will appeal to all us sick in the head bitches..See fucked up!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I guess even souless motherfuckers like me have a weakness

This is the first book I have tried by these authors..Love the writing style, it's gritty but not too dark (ok scrub that shit, it does have some really really dark elements to the story ) easy to get lost within the pages, you get a strong feel for the characters and that connection that I love..I love how the female character is feisty tough with a mouth that could be found on a hardened sailor, love the fact that she's a fighter and not a whiny bitch I want to slap..bonus!! Ohh another bonus he sounds fucking HOT!!HOT!! HOT!!

"Your boyfriend owes me money, princess."
"How much money?""Twenty grand."
"Twenty grand!" I shriek.
"What the hell? No wonder you have the hulk after you," I moan.
My boyfriend is a lowlife with a gambling problem
"Take her!" Euan grabs me by the shoulders and shoves me towards the scary man.
"Take Ria as security. I'll bring you the money."

COLLATERAL

First off I jumped on this because I was drawn by the cover, then the synopsis intrigued me, it appealed to me out of all books coming out, something unique and different amongst all the rest..

I am that guy your father warned you about

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The beginning starts off pretty damn gritty which I freaking love, when someone slaughters your family, you, in turn, kill theirs. I’m doing this for revenge, pure and simple. Merciless vengeance.. sit on the edge of your seat rushing through the pages to see what happens next..I want to utterly destroy Joe Campbell What does happen next even I wasn't expecting this early in the book.."Don’t hurt us, please, “The safe is in the basement. There’s over a million dollars in there,” the woman frantically offers. “Take it! Take whatever Joe owes you,” she pleads, her voice trembling. Shit just got real for this lady who was caught in a compromising position in bed with an innocent guy (Wrong place, wrong time - BOOM!!) that was not Joe Campbell..

Bring on the next sucker who owes a gambling debt!! Shit just gets real!

I love my dark gritty beware of the monsters hiding in broad daylight kind of reads but I will admit even some of these scenes in this book un-nerved me (The tongue scene - shudders)..I wasn't expecting it to be dark but that's what I got and that is why this book flies right off my 5 star rating and flies over to my favourite bookshelf..

God I struggled my ass off with this review, there was so much racing through my head about this book but trying to find the right words to convey on this review and what I wanted to say just doesn't do this book justice..

5+++++ Up All Night Couldn't Put It Down Stars!!

 photo CF024A6F-A189-4F84-AE92-F31F77DC3E72.jpg

I was up all night reading this book! I could NOT put it down! It was that good! I do not have one bad thing to say about it except that damn cliffy at the end! Damn! I want the next book so bad!

We start off with Jude seeking vengeance for the loss of his family.
Most people might say that what I’m about to do makes me one sick fucker, but when someone slaughters your family, you, in turn, kill theirs. I’m doing this for revenge, pure and simple. Merciless vengeance, it’s just how it goes in my world: you use violence and power to enforce your rules. ~Jude

He's powerful. He's ruthless. He's the boss of his family's bookie business. You borrow money from him then you bet your ass you better pay up. He will collect the debt you owe him however he needs to get it done.

Victoria has been dating her boyfriend Euan for a year. One night at his apartment one of Jude's men comes to collect the money that's owed. Euan doesn't have it so he offers up Victoria for security until he gets the money.
Omg! Victoria was one feisty crazy woman. She was not going down without a fight. I loved her right away. She stayed strong through the whole book! Did I say I loved her? I did love her British ass! lol

When Jude and Victoria come face to face Jude is pissed! He has a soft spot for woman that only people very close to him knows and he can't believe his man brought her to him.
Jude can't let her go though so he has to either kill her or figure out what to do with her. She defiantly gives him hell. lol

“Oh, I hear you,” she growls. “I heard the thirteen fucking death threats. I also heard that I was supposed to be out of this shit- hole after three days. You want to kill me, then fucking get on with it already. You want to spend every minute of the day with me?” She smiles. “I’m going to make your life hell.” ~Victoria
I was on the edge of my seat reading this whole book! This was a dark book. If you are not ok with very detailed violence then this book is not for you! Me...I gobbled every bit of it up!
While Victoria is held hostage some things pop up that make Jude doubt her role in this is innocent. He's got his whole family screaming at him to get rid of the woman!
OMG! Talk about holding your breath while reading some of the shit that happened in this book. That was me!

My emotions were every where! One chapter I'm gagging!

Then I got goosebumps, watery eyes, melted panties, laughing my ass off! Shit! I needed a big fat fucking drink and cold shower when I was done with this bitch!

 photo mnJRjgXZ2ooh2.gif

If you are like me and you love a dark read with a strong female and a smoking hot dangerous man then I suggest you hurry your ass up and hit the buy button!

You will not be disappointed!!

Awesome job LP Lovell & Stevie J Cole! I'm adding this baby to my favorites, best book ever and waiting impatiently for more shelves:))

Oh, God!!! This book was so WRONG, but in a fucked-up way was so RIGHT!!!

That story managed to climb upon my heart...

But.. Fuck me!!! What was this ending???

Oh my God!!! Are you trying to kill me LP???
I need the next book.... Yesterday!!!
How am i suppose to live with that twisted agony inside me???

Phew!!! I'm really, really frustrated right now!!!
The whole book was a huge contadiction for me!!!
I think that while i was reading it, i felt every damn feeling that exist...

I couldn't not hate Jude, but I couldn't not love him either...
You probably think that i'm sounding like a crazy woman, but this is the only truth!!!

He was living a fucked up life and he did some ugly and very nasty things that made me want to throw up several times...
But just like that he was doing something that all the time forced me to like him... a lot!!!
First of all, he was a soulness and cold bookie... Okay, he was beating, threatening and killing people, but that was a part of this job. Right???
Oh, God!!! I have lost my moralities!!! Yep...

Well... His only thorn in his life was Joel. He was seeking revenge from the man that took him away the two only people that he ever felt to love and destroyed his life...

His way of life demanded from him to be emotionless, but after a depth that didn't fullfilled in appropriate way, everything changed around him!!!

Victoria or Ria or Tor, was living a simple life. She was studying to be a doctor and her morals was perfect... She appreciated life too much and she couldn't imagine how people could be so cruel and so cold by hurting and killing another human being.
Everything changed in her life when happened something very wrong. Her boyfriend gave her away without hesistation for an exchange of a gambling depth...

And her life changed dramatically...
Suddenly she ripped out of her life and she became a prisoner of a ruthless bookie.
The things took an unexpected twist and everything gone so wrong...
More wrong than it was ever possible...

Jude was twisted inside of him, because from one hand that girl made him feel unknown things and he felt the need to protect her, but from the other hand she was able to make him so angry and to attack her instantly...

"I know she’s in pain. I’ve never felt remorse like this for hurting someone, and I’m finding the guilt slamming its way over me right now to be fucking unbearable. This right here has fucked me in a way I’ve never been fucked. She was good and pure. She was everything I’m not. I took that innocence from her. This girl makes me have a fucking soul, and I can’t have that."

I'm telling you that their connection was sooooo.... WRONG!!!
Everything was wrong... The feelings, the reactions, the actions... EVERYTHING!!!
And oh my Gosh, when Jude became suspicious that Victoria could be there on purpose, the things went so ugly!!! I was in shock...
How could he do all those things???

I liked Tor. I liked the fact that this girl was trying to resist in this ugliness that the life throw her and she was so brave and feisty that the most of the times got her in big troubles... But she fought back and she refused to be the victim!!!

But when they managed to smack her spirit, my heart ache for her!!! It was like her soul died inside her body and nothing left behind...
We saw her to change so much and as the time was passing she started to feel the wrong for right... When came the hour that she had to witness a person to die, she didn't even flinch!!!

And that connection between her and Jude was so intense and feisty!!!

I liked them together even though wasn't so right!!!

Pfew!!! I really want to tell you much more things about that book, but i think that already tell ya too much!!!
You should read this wrong but so right story!!!
And i should read the next book immediately!!! I need it!!!

I enjoy this one, dark, Gritty, a little OTT but it worked with the plot, I needed more balance with the relationship between Jude and Tor, too much second guessing, and what if, also, the sex, nondescript, so it wasn’t enough to entice me to read the next book... I’ll just leave it at that. ;)

5 "twisted fate" stars

Everything with you is wrong.

This is a crime, dark thriller drama, about a collision of two totally opposite lives, about the collateral victim tossed into a world of crime, murder, vengeance...
Money, murder and lies are all part of this business...

Merciless vengeance, it's just how it goes in my world: you use violence and power to enforce your rules.

this is a story of a young woman with a bright future, Victoria Devaux who was played by her boyfriend as he offered her as a leverage, until he collects the money he ows, to a gambling mobster, Jude Preston.
I'm a businessman and I take my job very seriously. You fuck with me, I'll kill you...

It was supposed to last for three days until the payment is settled and her life was given back to her...
BUT it all ended up in being the ultimate change of her life, the ending of her identity, the ultimate sacrifice of the person she once was when she finalizes the truth that she was set up and used in a bigger ploy of vengenace so deep and dark that will cover them all into a bottomless pit of disloyalty, cruel torture in discovering the truth and Jude's and hers breaking points...as this hostage/captive display unravels.

as she realizes the fragility of life,
Everything can change in a heartbeat.

the meaning of it and the unquestionable urge for survival...
What doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

She will fight against the circumstances set upon her, until she can't fight it anymore, until her fate alters to the fullest and the essence of her existence becomes nothing more than another shape and form of conformity. She will find another light in the darkness and it will alter her into a makeshift person she never thought possible of becoming.
You have to evolve to survive.

The lines of known truths are blurred and questioned and pushed to their very limits of breaking point, sense of meaning and notion of self-preservation will glue the fissures of her personality.
Life is so twisted. Everything's not always as it seems.

when she should not feel what she does for the man that took everything from her, the man how broke her only to challenge the notion of wrong being right.
I have lost everything, and having nothing to lose, the danger he promises has become an adrenaline shot to my broken and dying soul.
I know this should feel wrong, because it is – this brings a whole new meaning to the term fucked up – but part of this feels right.

Cause as she learns that nothing is as it seems and nothing is as simple as we wanna make it, she will find the alternate truth behind the masks and visible features and conduct. Cause ultimately Jude Preston is more beneath the skin of a merciless killer, he's a man shaped and molded by his past, his legacy and the horrid loss that seeks vengeance. And not only did she change herself but she changed him too.
She makes me question who the fuck I am

She’s like a bright fucking light, pulling me back from the darkness.

They are two people torn within each other, by one another, broken and screwed

She may be the one thing that can save me from myself.

And yet, inspite the new found bond in this twisted and cruel world…he WILL let her go, only to face the ultimate demise for them both…by the very same monster, Jude seeks vengeance against.

LP Lovell and Stevie J. Cole wrote a story full of gritty action, crime and acts of violence, cruel and hard conduct that we follow through the most passionately and vividly portrayed characters in all their layered complex and complicated personas and wide span of their emotional, mental and physical expressions. I was totally enveloped and hypnotized by them.

Very intense, gritty, emotionally enveloping read.
I have had this book on my TBR for forever...and now it will stay engraved in my mind for a long time.

Wrong is a story that will hold you fixed to your seat with hands glued to your kindle/paperback.

Absolutely fuckin FANTASTIC!!!

Holy shit. This book was BEYOND amazing. Dark, sexy, & violent.

I literally cannot put into words how much I loved this book, so instead I included a few of my favorite quotes from this book...

"Trust me, when someone fucks with something that's in my possession. I. Am. Brutal."

"What we have is like a poppy blooming from the blood-soaked soil of war. A beautiful tragedy."

"One minute I'm falling apart, and the next, strong arms are wrapping around me, holding my broken pieces together."

"The moment I stop fighting is the moment I become a victim and you stop being the enemy."

I kid you not when I say that my kindle is LITTERED with highlights because of all of the amazing quotable lines.

If you haven't read this book yet, you seriously need to.

The next book needs to come out AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! That cliffhanger KILLED me!

"Sometimes two wrongs make a right

Ria is in her last year of her residency at a hospital and is about to finally reach her goal of becoming a Doctor. But her plans all turn to shit when her boyfriend gives her to a bookie as collateral for the $20,000 that he owes. She's taken against her will, and held prisoner by Jude, a bookie known for his violence.

Jude has a soft spot where women are concerned, but he's on a mission to get revenge on the person responsible for his family's death and not even Ria will side track him. He feels something for her though, and starts to take an interest in her well being. His feelings turn to possessiveness and he decides she's his, and he isn't letting her go.

Less than a minute into reading this book I was like, what the fuck have I gotten myself into?!? It was so crazy and I was questioning my own sanity from even wanting to read the book, but I am really glad that I did. I loved the characters and how unpredictable the story was, I honestly had no idea what would happen because there were so many different possibilities. It was told in dual POV's and I liked how we got the two sides to the story and saw Ria Tor struggling with wanting to be free, but at the same time wanting to be with Jude, and then also saw Jude struggling with feeling like he had to be violent yet needing to protect Tor.
"I want to corrupt all this innocence right here."

The great thing about this story was that anything could happen. From the very first chapter the authors just threw it all out there and made it completely batshit crazy so I knew that they had no limits to the insanity. The whole time I was reading I was guessing at what more could possibly happen and I was both really excited to find out but also super nervous to see what else could happen.

Tor and Jude were both amazing characters and I liked how there were so many different personalities that we got to see from them. At first I wasn't sure if Jude would ever grow on me because I was having some problems with how violent he was, but he grew on me. By the end of the book I was thinking I wouldn't mind being his prisoner!

Bottom line, if you're ready to question your own sanity and maybe check yourself into an insane asylum, read this book!

I had this book on my Kindle for months, so why did it take me so long to read it?
I went completely blind into it, and all I can say is that this is really good.
If you're into dark, a bit twisted reads, make sure you give it a go.
BE WARNED: this one ends in cliffhanger.
I will be reading a second installment straight away, and I can't wait to see how this story will progress.

Another reread because I enjoyed it so much the first time around. Victoria who’s in her last year of training as a doctor finds herself being used as collateral to pay her boyfriends debt. She’s the marker to ensure he pays up. But there’s more going on here than first meets the eye her boyfriend's uncle Joe has Jude set firmly in his sights. Jude is a bookie and also head of his criminal family and Tor is the oblivious mole Joe hopes to utilise against him.

Innocent of anything other than being used for others agendas Victoria finds herself paying a heavy price that will forever change her. Jude needs to be sure that she’s exactly who she appears to be just a girl who is oblivious to the bigger picture. Her life is then turned upside down and she is left picking up the broken pieces and turning to her unlikely captor for protection in the aftermath.

Jude is both her protector and her nightmares he’s not a good man far from it his temper is hot and he’s unpredictable he finds the fire Tor displays equally annoying as it is arousing he also feels stuck between a rock and a hard place. Tor has now seen his face and his home and to protect his family he knows he should end her life but he can’t seem to do it developing a reluctant conscience where she’s concerned.

Victoria has spirit and such a mouth on her. She fights tooth and nail to liberate herself even if it means provoking Jude's legendary temper in the process as this story progresses she fundamentally changes her experiences affecting her on every level possible. Jude also finds himself evolving at least where Tor's concerned, he’s still the same ruthless cold monster with everyone else and it’s a gradual process as she starts to infect every aspect of his being.

This is the first part of a duo it’s very well written but so be aware there are triggers here. This is toxic and all sorts of messed up a very unconventional enemy to lovers story that sees Jude and Tor falling hard even though their lives and morals are the complete opposites of each other. The chemistry here is explosive more so by the slow burn build-up of it. My heart was definitely breaking for both. Jude slowly started to redeem himself where Tor is concerned and by the end of this, you knew they were both in deep. And then that finish what a cliffhanger that was. I was heavily engrossed from start to finish enjoying it just as much this second time and this one really is on my favourites list.

Its nice being wrong, and I fully admit I was at the beginning of the story. I thought this was going to be one of those lame kidnapped damsels in distress, falling for her captors! What made matters worse was the repetitive point of view shifts. Something I absolutely hate. And then like a clearing of a storm, the tides changed, smoothing out, the plot in full swing, completely captivating. For those of you who likes it dark, ahhhh yes my pretty's...very dark, blood, gore, heinous violent acts, the stuff I adore. Five star recommended read!

The story is about Jude an Tor/Ria they r to very different people an there lives r so far part but when Tor is in the wrong place at the wrong time her life gets turned upside down an it's never goin to b the same again she had so much goin for her she was so near to becoming a doctor she has worked so hard for she had a boyfriend but he is an ass but anyway her life was goin will until she ended up on the hands of Jude

Jude is a hard man to crack he is a totally bad ass he doesnt get close to anyone al that is left of his family is his brother an he is the closest he is to anybody Jude is a bookie but not your normal bookie an when u don't pay what u owe he doesnt need to worry there is alway a way to get his money an he will get it he isn't shy about ending things he does hide who he is or what he as done but there is one thing that does get to him an that women he doesnt like women getting hurt so when Tor ends up in his hands things get a lil hard an very complicated

There is a lot of sexual chemistry between these two from the beginning even though it hard for Tor to get over certain things that she knows an as seen but she still wants him an he does her she stirs thing in him that haunt never been stirred in him ever an the scares the crap out of both them

As I 've said I was lil nerve started this book but I have to say I would recommend it the story is really good I couldn't put it down once I started it an know I m dyin for Wrath book 2 the characters were really good I dyin to know how this works out so b prepared there is a cliffy God I hate them I m just glad that I don't have to wait for the book so bring it on ;) xxx

‘Life is so twisted. Everything’s not always as it seems.’

Yes it was wrong but it was SO fabulously right in every way that counts. We bloody LOVED Wrong. It wasn’t as dark as what we were expecting, but then with the amount of truly dark books we read we think we’ve become somewhat desensitised.

‘You can release a bird from its cage, but if you’ve clipped its wings then its freedom is merely false kindness.’

It was a dark romance – as in so unconventional that if it was real life everyone would run a mile in the other direction. But this is fiction and the writing being as brilliant as it was we felt the vulnerability threaded through the ugly and violent. We felt the romance.

‘Every day it becomes harder to remember why this is wrong.’

This story had the impact that it did because of an extremely strong heroine and an antihero who not only had brawn but brains too. Both were so well written we connected and fell in love with them from the get go. Sure, Jude didn’t quite endear himself to us from the opening scenes however, underneath a criminal and violent façade is a bloke with a conscience and a sense of responsibility. His past and family has defined his actions; his own sense of self at war with that very sad fact. Victoria our British heroine is one tough and feisty survivor who did not go gently into the darkness. We loved that about her.

‘She does things to me no woman has ever done, and I almost hate her for it.’

Revenge, family vengeance; an eye for an eye – how far would you go? Protection and redemption rolled into one. This story had a beautiful romance in its own original guise wrapped in ugliness. We loved every minute of it. Now, to say we are anxiously awaiting the second book in this series is an understatement because yes; Jude and Victoria’s journey does not end here.

‘You fuck with me, I’ll kill you, because no one takes anything as serious as death.’

This one was a random read for me. I went through my kindle to see what I had in there and decided to read this one. I don't even remember when I bought the book, or why. What ever made me get the book the day that I did, I don't regret it, because it turned out to be a great read.

It is definitely not for the light hearted. There is a lot of violence and pretty hardcore scenes, but the writing kept me glued to every page. The reason I'm taking away one star is the ending. I don't know why a lot of authors lose it when their main characters fall in love. It became a bit of an eyeroll fest. But, being the clifhanger sucker that I am, can't give it less than 4 stars because of what happened on the last page :).

Solid 4 stars.

One of the things I try to avoid in romance are books with frustratingly obviously unrealistic characters and situations. We love that romance fiction can get us away from everyday life and allows us to daydream about our own heroes, but when a character and/or story is not at all believable, it takes away from the magic that allows you to live in the story. Most of the mafia-themed books I've read are flawed in this way, so I was pleasantly surprised that the Wrong series is the opposite.

Wrong and Wrath are immersive, real, and dark.

_____________________________

Before her boyfriend's betrayal, Victoria was a resident in the ER who aspired to become a licensed doctor. She had a successful career path, a non-dysfunctional family, a clean past, and a decent boyfriend (well, he might have been if ).

"I am living my dream, but that doesn't mean this is easy. I feel like every life lost takes a part of my soul with it."

"I stare at the flat green line on the monitor, marking his lifeless state.
'Clear!' Again they shock him, and still nothing.
Come on, live. Just fight a little harder."

Tor has one of the most drastic character transformations I've read in only 350 pages, and is again excruciatingly remolded and reshaped in Wrath.

"Blood pours from the wound, and [he] screams . . . somehow I find myself fascinated by the blood, reveling in [his] screams. I want him to suffer and I want him to die."

Jude has always been softer with women because of his devastating and gruesome past. He never resorted to violence towards Victoria, even when she attacked him shortly after meeting him (which most people like him would realistically do). He protected her most of the time and tried to avoid hurting her when he could.

Somehow and sometime later, Jude and Tor fell for each other. But I can't tell you how the hell that happened.

While I commend Lovell for writing a more realistic take on a mafia-like story with real characters, I would disagree that this was a romance at all. If there is anything that this book perfectly captures, it's Stockholm Syndrome. Not love.

"She's been ripped from everything she knows and left with nothing but me. I'm the fucking devil and god at the same time because I am the only person who even It's nothingness, or me.

"Yet I willingly bask in his corruption, like some desperate junkie embracing my own destruction."

"Yeah, I've been a fucking charmer to her, and she's got the psychological and physical scars as a souvenir."

Aside from Tor's Stockholm Syndrome and Jude's and Tor's physical attraction to each other, I guarantee that you won't be able to determine how they came to "love" each other. Aside from not abusing Tor and being mostly protective, Jude failed to show any indication that he cared for her. Likewise, Tor's actions and thoughts never revealed that she loved him. Tor and Jude's unengaging conversations revolved around Tor's hostage/collateral status and a bit of dull, static background information about themselves, but that's all there is to it. No emotion, no connection, no chemistry. We're just suddenly told towards the end of the book that Jude cares for her and that Tor loves him.

"I always told myself that passion and love don't matter, spoken by a girl who had never felt it.
They matter, and losing them will hurt more than any of my physical wounds."

The vivid writing, character transformation, and realistic and fast-paced story saved this book. It's rare for me to find something that is both dark and realistic. I just wish that Lovell had developed the actual romance and showed us how Tor and Jude fell in love.

Couldn’t feel any chemistry between Jude and Victoria or connect with their characters. Didn’t come across as if they had any attraction for each other. And while I like strong females, some of Victoria’s actions just seemed reckless and too bold for the situation she was in. Also, when Victoria first sees Jude he’s doing another woman. The next chapter from Jude's POV gives all the details of that hook-up. Really didn’t need that if the reader is supposed to be sold on a relationship between them.

Pretty good.

Dark themes. Triggers galore.
I enjoyed it, but the writing was odd in some parts to me. The story jumped around and felt a bit chopped/rushed at the end. I still enjoyed the story and will read the next one.

If you like mafia that is clearly fiction, and sexy, and has some Stockholm syndrome feels. Then I would read this!

I’m rocking in the corner holding a fluffy pillow with a bottle of tequila by my side… that was me after reading Wrong by LP Lovell and Stevie J. Cole.

Everything I believe in, true love, love at first sight, fairy tales, the white horse… just flew out the window. Bye-bye. See ya. Later. I’m in deep. I need a psychiatrist. I can’t think, can’t eat… sleep? What is that?! I just sit here and think about what I just read. That, my Schmexy friends, is called a BOOK HANGOVER and guess what… I LOVE it!!!

Wrong was just so wrong but man, it was so freakin right. Definitely in my top 5 this year!!

We meet Victoria, doctor to be, ambitious little thing from England. She’s in love with a great guy and her life is full. Little does she know that everything she knows is about to change, to go wrong or will it go right?!

“I shouldn’t let him hold me, but I do.

I shouldn’t like the way his warm chest feels pressed against my cheek, but I do.

This should feel wrong, but it doesn’t.

Maybe I’m more broken then I thought.”

Jude… he makes his entrance pants down. Yes, you read that right. And OH MY GOD, Jude. Yes he’s a criminal, yes he’s a bookie, yes he kills people.

“This right here has fucked me in a good way. I’ve never been fucked. Se was good and pure. She was everything I’m not. I took that innocence from her. This girl makes me have a fucking soul, and I can’t have that.”

I shouldn’t love him. At all. But I can’t help it. He stole my heart. He made my heart pound, got me all hot and bothered and my panties went BOOM!!

The chemistry between Tor and Jude was just WOW. I am completely blown away. This is a MUST READ.

This was my first book by both of these authors and I can’t wait to go back and read their previous books. Brilliant, dark, could not put it down, in love 6+++++ #SchmexyApproved Stars!!!

Can't wait for book 2!!!

============

For real, can't wait for book #2. I'm really looking forward to it. But also it's pretty scare the shite out of me thinking what's gonna happen to Victoria/Tor! BECAUSE given what Joe had done to Jude's mom and sister!!! You will bloody hope for Tor to never ever leave from Jude!!!

What happened to Jude's mom and sister was...

So, thanks to Katie for rec this book to me!!

To be honest, this book was pretty different from dark genre I usually read. It also pretty hilarious!! Wait until Tor get drunk and she will make you laugh your arse off!! This british vocabulary started to hook me. It's okay, I bloody love it!

And to be more honest, I almost put this down. Because after the slaughtered night at Joe's house, things started to a bit mundane. I mean, not so dark.. Not like what I was expecting. But thanks to my loose work hour so i can continue reading this. So, I kept reading.... and reading. I loved it that the author also put some hilarious moments in this book. It's bloody rare you laughing when reading a dark genre book, right?

Things get nasty and gory when Jude visited Euan (Tor's boyfriend). Damn, Jude was so cruel. I know..I hate Euan for gave up Tor as collateral for his debt to Jude. But, OH MY GOD, still, what Jude done to Euan still make me feel sorry for him. :(

And then, there's this nasty old bastard, Bob. Bob is one of Jude's uncles. Family business he inherited here. Bob, decided he thought he will do a favor to Jude if he tortured Tor for information. Little did he know what's waiting for him when he defied Jude's order. ....BAM!! It's just nasty, so nasty... but Bob, you deserved it!!!

OH!! The sex was also hot!! Jude is savage!!

My favorite moment was when the last time of Jude and Tor together! So sad.. :'(

And I love sweet Caleb!! Jude's little brother.

DNF @ 52%. Nothing had happened with the h and H romantically at all at this point (other than attraction), and I found myself starting to skim. He has just saved her from being attacked by one of his men, and I see where this is going (he's going to be guilty, spend more time with her, they have sex, yada yada yada). I was willing to overlook the fact that this ends on a cliffy, but I can tell already that it's just being stretched out to have content in 2 books and that frustrates me. I'm too impatient for a book this slow right now because I'm hitting a little bit of a book slump, so I'm moving on....

There is always that awkward moment that you are reading a book and you realize how sick you really are that you are getting turned on by a murdering asshole who would take your life in an instant. I felt this dilemma a good bit while reading Wrong. Thigh clenching, throat grabbing and leg spreading Jude will be number one in my dirty thoughts for months to come. It’s no lie, I like the asshole men in my books, but most of the time you find half way through they turn all sweet, so when Jude stayed true to himself the whole book I fell a little a harder (and by falling I mean legs spread open kind of fall).

I loved Tor the moment we met her, but I’m not going to lie at times I cringed and also rooted her on when she opened her mouth. He would never have to ask me to beg, I would have that shit lit up with an open and dine here sign.

If you like a little darker story with some funny as hell humor and two characters that will win you over within the first few chapters whether they are killing someone or trying to kill each other than you must meet Jude and Tor. Ms. Cole and Ms. Lovell really pulled together one hell of a story that will leave you wanting more of all the fucking madness that comes when a smartass girl meets a guy who doesn’t take no for an answer. If you are looking for a book with hammock swinging while the characters sip lemonade then this isn't the book for you.
