Dylan’s hard-earned peace is short-lived. After facing peril twice and defending Earth from destruction both times, Dylan settles down with his family, only to find himself called to duty once again. The gates of the void are beginning to open, and the gods suspect there is a traitor. Guardians are disappearing, and their powers are vanishing.
Old enemies return and Dylan must deal with growing complications. The idea that good will always win in the end is in question. Meanwhile, Mordon’s loyalties are put to the test when he faces a poison that threatens to wipe out the remaining dragons.
Dylan and Mordon will have to fight the very laws of nature to uncover exactly who has betrayed the gods. To keep the gates closed and Dylan’s devastating vision from coming true, they must use time as a tool, magic as a weapon, and a map as a key. This time, Dylan will have to wage a battle against a force that cannot be destroyed.

The book opened unexpectedly, but in such a way that I was excitedly looking for a new character or two. But then it simply gave more depth to the character we already know, and that made it all the better! Three books in and still learning things about the main fellow is something a reader rarely experiences and Rain is doing it.
I also really loved to see progression in the characters' personal lives, it went better than I could have hoped for our main couple, even bringing back another lovable little guy in their lives. It may be because I recently had another child myself, but the way it was all written out really hit some more personal notes with me, and I loved it.
Whether in this series or another, I look forward to reading more from this author. :)
I really love this series! I find that I am reading them way too fast to see what is going to happen next! I love all the characters and the unique story with many twists and turns!
At time of writing I'm actually already busy reading Book 4. Book 2 and 3 are so great that I couldn't stop a minute and write a review. I just needed to know what came next. It was with great difficulty that I pried myself away from book 4 to write this review. And to be honest, In my opinion that should say all you need to know. In this 3rd adventure Dylan learns how to juggle a family with his duties as a guardian. Again another book packed full of action. And I love the relationship between the gods and how it actually without them realizing it mirroring the relationship between the guardians. Each book just gets better and better.
R. Oxford is one of the most amazing writer's that I have had the chance to read. She has a very great sense of humor and her writing skills are one of the best since Tolkien ! All the stories I have read are Great.
I was torn between 2 and 3 stars. It took me a long time to finish this book. It wasn't holding my interest like the previous books and seemed to be all over the place with it's plot, making it hard to follow at times. I still like the overall story and will probably read books 4 and 5 eventually. Just not right now. :)
