Note to self I’m not interested in Jase story there isn’t anything that can be done to redeem him. Not for me So far pathetic desperate virgin h Gross manwhore who constantly chooses OW over the h and fucks everyone but the h. They are fated mates So if he does suddenly want her then it’s forced because of the mate bond and that is completely BS. I Hate that in shifter books
‼️THIS NOTE TO MYSELF IS BECAUSE OF WHAT RHE AUTHOR HAS ALREADY SHOWN US IN THIS SERIES ANOUT THIS COUPLE AND I HAVE ZERO INTEREST.
‼️This is a not to myself and NOT A RATING. So please can the haters move the FFFFFF ON
I have been panting for this installment since first meeting Jase and Bailey in book one.
TMI Tangent: It's been a weird whirlwind of a year so far and my reading desire has been...we will say "off." In a way it has never been before. And I only mention this to say that this book is the first book in a really long time that I was excited to read. Like, I couldn't wait to get done with my daytime tasks/social events so I could pop this open and read it in one sitting. So one star just for that lol.
Also, I really appreciated DD Prince's prefacing author's note. She talked about how she understood the bar for this book was high and that she did her best to straddle what her reader's wanted and what felt right for her characters. And I have nothing but respect for that struggle and for DD Prince.
That said, I don't know if my expectations were too high or what (how could they not be, right?)...but while I enjoyed this, it definitely didn't hit the way I wanted it to on my first read. And I think this is more of a commentary on my own expectations and not the book itself.
I think Prince knew she had quite the writing dance ahead her as far as balancing Bailey making Jace work for it to a level that felt like enough...while also not making that time feel too long. For me it leaned a little too long. Although, I would rather have it feel too long instead of too short...and I feel like an ungrateful Goldilocks even saying that. But that's how I felt.
I also thought that Bailey comparing her situation with Jase (even tangentially) to Sherry's very violent one was very...tone deaf. I found it off-putting to a degree that, in conjunction with Bailey's other antics during this period, made me not like her as much as in previous books. It felt immature to me in some ways and I didn't love it.
Overall though, I am sure I will love this more upon a second read. And, while my comments might seem negative in general, please remember that a 3.5 means I more than liked it. I was mostly satisfied and look forward to re-reading it (with a hopefully upward rating trend) in the future.
Now live! More biting, knotting, claiming, and purring. But this time... it's rejection first followed by a whole lot of angst. Don't worry, you'll get your happy ending.
In case you missed the news, books 1, 2, and 3 in this series are now available in audiobook format. Books 4, 4.5, and 5 are also coming to Audible with the same narrators. ETA/preorders: to come.
DON'T MENTION F*CKING BOOKTOK IN A BOOK, I DO NOT WANT MY ROMANCE HEROINES ALL SELF-AWARE AND META
Update: I upgraded to three stars (really 2.5 rounded up) after thinking about it, because I do think the heroine deserves kudos for holding out against the hero longer than I expected (about 70% of the book). I also think the hero does genuinely go a long way to understanding how he hurt the heroine and trying to make amends. Is it fair that ultimately, they're only together because of the fated mate bond, and he wasn't at all attracted to her before that? Not really, and I love that the heroine gets how that's not the same as organic attraction like she had for him even before the bond, but I guess we can't only always read about the 'you're-mine-the-second-I-saw-you' iterations of the fated mates trope.
However, I can't rate this book any higher because 1) her overweening obsession with him, to the extent she wasn't just a virgin but had NEVER KISSED ANYONE BEFORE is bone-deep pathetic, and I hate that he knows she's never been attracted to anyone before him; 2) he was just an insane slut and I wish it wasn't constantly rubbed in her face; and 3) most importantly, for the love of God, do not reference BookTok and bookstagram in a romance book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I enjoyed this for the most part, but I did think Bailey held out way too long. It killed the angst for me. The situation with Sherry and the forced pregnancy is so messed up. I don’t understand the point of that storyline! I’d like to see her be redeemed, though. Who will end up with Linc?
Overall, this book was a little bit too long, imho. I do enjoy Prince’s world building. I do not like the heavy reliance of the witches’ interference on the plot though. They annoy me!

I love this series, and it always delivers for me. Bailey and Jase’s book is one I was heavily anticipating. I adore a grovel and after Jase was so dismissive breaking Bailey's heart with all of his prior actions I had some pretty high expectations. I kind of got the whys of his behaviour towards her, pushing Bailey away so she wouldn’t be crushed when he eventually found his mate. But my heart hurt so much for Bailey her feelings of humiliation and how crushed she was and it all now contributed to her current mindset of anger and hurt. I mean Jase had practically rubbed her nose in it, he completely disregarded her it didn’t even once cross his mind that she might turn out to be his.
Well karma was having a field day here, Jase really had an uphill battle when all is revealed to him and he finally realises just what Bailey means to both him and his wolf. Bailey though is having none of it, its too little too late for her and her complete adoration and hero-worship has now done a complete 360 she wants nothing to do with her new mate she wanted Jase to want her for her not because of some biological reaction and to further complicate things for Jase the Young Coven is meddling and he is the one paying the price.
So yeah, safe to say Jase here has quite the tumultuous journey ahead of him. Lots of work to put in to win his mate over to his side. Bailey well lets just say she's the poster child for stubborn talk about blinkered she placed Jase on a lofty pedestal for years and now that he’s toppled from that lofty height she just can’t seem to put aside all of her hurt and heartbreak. Bailey digs her heels in refusing to budge and Jase is now getting a huge taste of his own medicine.
I did start to feel sorry for him long before Bailey let him off the hook. I wanted Bailey to just get over herself and forgive Jase as it was beyond obvious he’d seen the light. But yeah, she sure made him pay for all of that previous disregard.
This one is more slow-burn than previous books in the series. Mostly because of the circumstances behind these two. When we do finally get there though it was explosive and I loved these two together when they were finally on the same page. Bailey and Jase have some insane chemistry and they were bloody adorable together.
This hit the mark for me in every way and I really enjoyed Jase and Bailey’s story, I also especially appreciated re-visiting all of the previous characters from past books. I highly recommend this series, its a firm favourite, its such a great read especially if your partial to some possessive obsessed alpha shifters.
Ima need my girl Bailey to slut it up for me and become 3X the whore that jase is. I need this man to SUFFER and look her in the eyes while she rides another man. I need him to cry like a little bitch boy for treating her this way. Bailey I need you to grow a spine Miss maam and throw that pussy around town
UPDATED REVIEW: Lol well that ^^ did not happen. She saved everything for him even her first kiss 🫠 It started off okay, but this book was honestly SO unnecessarily long, after Bailey forgave him it should have wrapped up but we get like 30 more filler chapters of shit I didn’t care about. I was so relieved when I finally reached the epilogue and I can’t remember the last time I felt that way about a book.
Note to SELF: I just looked back on my reviews for this series as well as other books by this author and I didn’t realize they were all 2 stars and below. Something about the immaturity in the writing style, the TikTok/Booktok references, and a freaking Miley Cyrus song thrown in there made me cringe. I honestly don’t see any growth in the depth of the writing, it all seems rambly and poorly edited, so here’s a reminder to MYSELF that this author just isn’t for me, and I much prefer Cate C Wells’ Five Packs series so I won’t be continuing.
I want to start by saying I have a lot of respect for the author, her community, and the way she engages with her readers. It is clear she puts tremendous energy into trying to give her audience what they want.
With that said, I want to explain my rating.
Starting around the third book of the series, when the coven plot became much more prominent, I began struggling with the whole shifter's story. I understand that each book is meant to do more than tell the romance of the featured couple. It also expands everything happening in Arcana Falls and the wider Alpha Shifter world. My issue, however, lies in the worldbuilding. With each book, more and more characters are introduced into a cast that already feels overcrowded. There are seven members on the Alpha Council, then their mates, then all the backstory and secondary characters attached to each of them. At a certain point, it became too much.
I was so eager to read Jase and Bailey’s story, and I do think their relationship was developed well. In my eyes, Jase absolutely proved himself worthy of Bailey. But the witch plot, the endless stream of witches whose names seemed to all start with A, and the constant addition of even more names left my head spinning. I found myself not caring about any of it. The plot felt incredibly boring and confusing to me.
I did not skip a single page, but if I ever reread Jase and Bailey’s story, I would probably skip through two-thirds of the book, because for me, the truly engaging part only occupied about a third of it.
Bailey seemed to spend more time texting and having casual friend banter with every inhabitant of Arcana Falls, I understand It needed to create time and distance to elongate the climax of their story, but I would have actually loved to read more about them together, for all the hype and the waiting, they deserved more attention in this book, It looked like it was about them, but all of the gazilliion characters had air time in Jase´s and Bailey.
I did not even get the chance to be annoyed by Bailey’s obvious immaturity and stubbornness, which is saying something, because that would normally have stood out to me. (do not get me started on Amelia's book or character. I cannot stand her).
I appreciate the effort to build a more layered and complex world. Witchcraft, magic, mysticism are very much my cup of tea. I work with many of those themes myself, so I am open to that direction. That is exactly why it disappointed me that I found this particular execution dull rather than compelling.
I am writing this review because I felt similarly with Rye and Erika’s story, the witch council, the endless witch sisters, an overwhelming number of female coven members, and every single one of them having something to contribute became exhausting. I read for pleasure, and at times this felt like work.
I know this review sounds harsh. I will continue supporting and reading DD’s books, and this has not lessened my admiration for what she does. But I've been struggling with the last books, and as I am finishing Jilted, I ended up frustrated once again.
P. S. I hope one of the final two books in the series shows these couples actually getting to enjoy their honeymoon phase, because honestly, poor couples. They are always talking about the time mating happens, they need to be left alone, but they never seem to get it. There is always someone knocking at the door, calling them, or some new emergency pulling them apart. They barely get a moment to simply be together for any meaningful length of time. At this point, I am frustrated on their behalf. Haha.
Update: of course this book did not disappoint. I finished it in 3 days. Dd prince is such a good writer, it is hard to put her books down! She made Jason suffer like we all knew he would. It was perfect! Can’t wait for the next one.
I can’t wait to read this book! It will be the best one yet! For all the people giving in a bad review before they even read it that’s a bummer. I’m here because every single book in this series has been amazing and I’m sure this one will be amazing as well. The least people can do on this site is read a book before they rate it. I usually never read a book before I haven’t read it, but let’s be fair to an author!!!
They spend a lot of time, energy and effort on something that means the world to them and people come on here and ruin their ratings just because they don’t like a character. really? That’s pretty sucky and pretty awful to any author. We get to enjoy these books, we’re lucky to be able to read them! So stop ruining their ratings when they’ve worked so hard, and you put ZERO effort into reading the book. If you don’t like a character, don’t read the book. Don’t ruin it for everybody else or the author’s livelihood!
Kindle keeps recommending this fuckass book to me so this is a reminder to myself that this is a HELL NO for me, and that I would probably hate anything this author writes based solely on how this specific FMC and MMC were written.

2.5-3 stars I’m torn on this review. I enjoyed it overall but it wasn’t my favorite of the series. I appreciated Jase’s redemption arc and was satisfied with his and Bailey’s HEA. But I found Bailey to be immature and annoying throughout the book and more than anything I’m just not OK with the way Sherry’s pregnancy was treated.
From previous books in the series, Jase came across as an off-putting player and Bailey as a love-sick puppy. Finally, Jase reciprocates Bailey’s feelings once he recognizes her as his mate, but Bailey is already heartbroken and angry from his prior rejections and refuses his advances going so far as to petition the supernatural council to change the rules regarding alphas claiming their mates.
I get where Bailey is coming from and I would be upset by Jase’s behavior too, but the way she handles everything regarding Jason (both before and after he recognizes her as his mate) is so immature it borders on teenage. She doesn’t come across as a woman ready for mating. I wish she would have had the opportunity to grow up some more and spread her wings independently before the mating occurred. I also think there was a considerable amount of unnecessary and heavy handed interference from the coven that didn’t assist the plot for me.
But my biggest issue with the book is with the treatment of Sherry. She’s behaved like a b*tch throughout the series, and I’m fine with her playing the villain role. However, she ends up mated to and pregnant from a violent alpha. While her mate is eventually killed, Sherry is left coping with the aftermath of serious IPV and an unwanted pregnancy. If that’s not bad enough, the witches determine (another example of heavy handed interference) that Sherry’s fetus will eventually grow into an important alpha and thus prevent her from terminating the pregnancy even going as far as forcibly sedating her until she gives birth after she tries to commit suicide.
The logic used to prevent Sherry from terminating her pregnancy is the same logic that is currently being used to dismantle woman’s reproductive rights and bodily autonomy - that the potential life possibilities of the fetus outweigh the actual real life of the mother. In fact there have been cases in the U.S. since the overturning of Roe v Wade where pregnant brain-dead women were kept alive for months only so their babies could be born, even when that is not what their families wanted, which affectively made the woman’s body nothing more than a vessel to be used to produce children.
Similarly, Sherry’s bodily autonomy is completely stripped from her as she is forced to not only carry her abuser’s child but there is a magical shield put around the fetus and she is forcibly sedated to absolutely prevent her from any actual choice in what happens to her body. This is unforgivable…. Moreover, it’s not ok that all of this is excused because Sherry’s is a b*tch who karma finally bit.
I never got the vibe that D.D. Prince was anti-abortion, and I’m not going to accuse her of that. But I highly recommend that she, and anyone else who would like to learn more, educate themselves on reproductive justice frameworks https://www.sistersong.net/reproducti...

I made it 17 chapters before I gave up. You know what's more disgusting than the FMCs disgusting fated mate, a complete pig who doesn't see her as human, only as a virgin body he believes he's entitled to now that he knows they're mates? It's her mother, father and brother not supporting her, having zero empathy and zero understanding for her point of view. They all side with her sleazy mate. Fuck her family and fuck her fated mate.
Oh my goodness finally Bailey and Jase’s story and man oh man did Bailey make Jase grovel hard! But DD Prince wrote this painful and crazy mating with the greatest care and the sweetest coming together. There is always so much chaos in Arcana Falls around these super alpha matings but Bailey and Jase take the prize. Imagine wanting to reach out and touch your identified mate but you physically cannot. Jase is a saint and kudos to him for his restraint and resistance even when Bailey made it almost impossible. I love this series and now this book is my favourite of the series. Well done DD Prince and I can’t wait for more 🩷
DD Prince has managed to knock it out of the park again with Jilted, the next book in the alpha shifters series. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but has overarching arcs that continue between books. This is one of my favorite shifter series and Jace and Bailey's story was everything that I hoped it would be. All the angst and all the tension. Any girl who has felt the pull of unrequited love will relate to this story in the best kind of ways, lol. That man was NOT kind in the last book and our girl Bailey made him work hard for that lovin'. If you're a fan of complex storylines, hot smexy, fantastic storytelling, and girthier reads, you're going to love Jilted as much as did. I can't wait to see where she's going with the bread crumbs she sprinkled around for the next one!
While there were some decent scenes, the whole thing was honestly pathetic. On the bright side, Jase—the notorious player—didn't compare Bailey to his past partners once. But it’s a joke that he gets a clean slate and a fresh start with his virgin fated mate despite his history. The "why" behind his manwhore behavior was just the usual cliché: he was just living his life and no one else mattered. Oh, and of course, he was with everyone because he knew he’d find his fated mate soon and didn’t want anyone throwing a past "serious relationship" in his face later (like his parents do). Because sure, being with a hundred women instead of one makes perfect sense... He wasn't even happy when he found out Bailey was his mate; he was just "okay" with it. He would've preferred Danica; in fact, he was still regretting not getting her into bed until the very last chapter. And that line he fed Bailey about reflecting of their past and how they would’ve ended up together anyway? Absolute nonsense. As for Bailey, she was incredibly childish throughout the book, which didn't show in the previous installments. She’s been obsessed with Jase her entire life—zero personality of her own, she just mirrors him. She stayed a virgin for him, knowing full well how promiscuous Jase is, never even trying to live her own life. Plus, literally everyone was against her—her parents, her brother, her friends—no one understood why she was being so stubborn. I don't understand why female authors hate women so much and why anyone finds the "manwhore-virgin girl" tropes romantic.
3.75 stars with a very important caveat at the end of this review (spoilers included, but I’m not hiding them because it’s a discussion about triggers others may want to be aware of).
I’ve been waiting years for this book and Bailey/Jase’s story was better than I anticipated. They both grew quite a bit and it was great to see Bailey get the support from other women that she shares in the other books. I also thought there was a good balance of her resisting and softening across the book. Jase definitely got a reality check that he needed and while I don’t think he can be held accountable for all of Bailey’s previous feelings, I really appreciated the witches standing up for Bailey’s autonomy (mostly). Bailey was much stronger in this book compared to Claimed and I really appreciated seeing her struggle to sort her feelings out. That part was done so well!
The whole drama with Sterling witches seemed like a bit of distraction and may have been more meaningful if I had given Claimed a reread beforehand. But it was meh for me.

Here’s the big caveat about my rating- I was so excited to see Bailey’s endeavor to allow woman a way to petition to reject the bond. That has been my major gripe about this series, that the guys feels entitled to their mates and their mates truly don’t get a say. Yes, they end up happy, but it’s always felt icky. So this felt like a great step in right direction. EXCEPT- we find out Sherry is pregnant with Wyatt’s baby and she is not allowed to terminate the pregnancy because the baby is an alpha. She tried to harm herself and they basically decided to sedate her until the baby is born because alphas are just that important. It’s important to note that the only trigger listed for this is “discussions of abortion” and nothing about forced pregnancy (Update- forced pregnancy has been added to the trigger warnings, which is good to see). The idea that the council controls if she can terminate, and that decision hinges on the idea that alpha males are valuable and others aren’t, left a really, really bad taste in my mouth. Treating her as an incubator and not immediately addressing the elements that are damaging her as a person (ie the lingering mate bond) was upsetting. They even said they could use the idea of removing the bond as an incentive to make sure she keeps the pregnancy. It felt unnecessary. That whole storyline could have easily been removed and nothing would have been lost.
Overall, the core story of Bailey and Jase is excellent. I could have done without the other witches storyline and I was very disturbed but the decision to handle Sherry’s pregnancy that way.
This is the kind of book I didn’t just read—I devoured.
I went into this already excited, and somehow it still exceeded my expectations. From the first few chapters, I was hooked, and that grip never loosened. This is pure, addictive romance—compelling characters, high emotional stakes, and just enough tension to keep you flipping pages way past when you meant to stop.
Jase and Bailey absolutely carried this for me. I loved them—individually and together. Their chemistry is undeniable, and the way their relationship builds has that delicious slow-burn quality that makes every interaction feel loaded. The spice? Fantastic. It hits that perfect balance of buildup and payoff, making it all the more satisfying when it finally lands.
That said, there were a few details in their story that I might have tweaked—nothing major, but just enough to make me pause here and there. Still, those moments didn’t take away from the overall experience in any meaningful way.
And the world? I’m all in. It feels immersive without being overwhelming, giving just enough context and texture to make everything feel real while keeping the focus where it belongs—on the characters and their journey.
Honestly, this is one of those reads that leaves you a little breathless at the end because you went through it so fast. Jilted is consuming, emotional, and incredibly satisfying—and I’m already itching for more.
I have been so excited for Jase and Bailey's book. I loved this. This series is so bloody good. I'm already absolutely dying for the next books.
I truly love that she made Jase work for it after everything he's done, and I love what she's doing to change the laws, but I'm not going to lie... I did wind up getting frustrated with Bailey. He was what she's wanted for every book and she was talking about how she'd wish it would be her knowing how it goes when they scent their mates but then decides she unhappy that he never noticed her before and wanted her and wouldn't let him explain his reasoning because of Grayson. HOWEVER, I still absolutely loved this. Cannot wait for the next 2 books.
I literally recommend this series to everyone I talk to lol

I don’t know if I would classify this as a slow burn. There was no burn to be seen to me. Aside from him being hard and her being wet. There was no pull. Nothing drawing me in. At 60% it was still the same old same. He wanted her. And she kept saying he just wanted her because of her scent. For over 60% of the book. It was exhausting listening to her drone on. I found myself skimming a lot. Not because I was excited and needed to know what happened next but because I found her whiney. I get she was hurt. But it was all so petulant. The same arguments circled over and over. It didn’t move the story along. At almost 700 pages I expect more to be happening.

I have been FERAL for Jase and Bailey’s story, and it did not disappoint!
Jilted was everything I wanted, I just couldn't get enough. For a pretty huge book, I devoured it and still wanted more!
Ever since I saw how Bailey pined for super alpha Jase throughout DD Prince's Savage Alpha Shifters series, I couldn’t wait for these two to get together.
Jase - Bailey's brother Grey's best friend - has been ambivalent to Bailey; pursuing seemingly anyone BUT Bailey, and turning more cruel and dismissive as time went on.
I had wondered how things would go when it came time for Jase to discover that Bailey was, in fact, his fated mate, and Bailey finally got to be with the love of her life.
DD had to straddle a fine line; delivering a romance befitting her series so far, but also ensuring her reader's wishes were granted in making Jase grovel and truly deserve Bailey after all he'd done to hurt her.
For me, Jase fully redeemed himself. With the age gap between them, being her brother's best friend, and practically family to Bailey; as well as knowing he'd eventually find his fated mate and not wanting to mess with Bailey’s obvious feelings for him, I actually understood where he was coming from.
But he also had to understand Bailey’s hurt. She had wanted him to want her for 𝒉𝒆𝒓, not just because she was fated to be with him.
I'm glad Bailey made him work for their future - he needed to show her he genuinely cared about HER.
Unfortunately, I felt Bailey pushed her agenda too far and I did get annoyed with her, and the witches she was involving, particularly Dani - who previously would have happily been with Jase, if not for her sister's interference. I'm personally not too keen on so much coven interaction in pack business. Sometimes, the witches take over a little too much, even with the danger the pack faces.
Whilst Bailey absolutely had a point about the system in place and how the women have no choice, using Sherry (as hateful as she is) was wrong. She showed her immaturity by treating Jase as if he were dangerous for no reason, simply because of her fears and hurt over his previous lack of romantic interest, regardless of how it hurt her.
But watching Jase aim to win Bailey over was a pure delight. He took swoony book boyfriend to a new level! I mean, he bought her books!! I'd have been won over right then 😂
The romance, the dates, the dedication despite everything stopping Jase from even touching Bailey, the pain it cost him, and then the heat once these two got on the same page; oh my! 🫠❤️🔥🐺
Jase proved himself to be a wonderful man and an alpha truly deserving our girl Bailey.
There were so many cute moments, there was fun and light-heartedness mixed in with the angst and suspense and danger.
As always, I loved the feminine support and the community in Arcana Falls, and I'm so excited for the final two super alpha’s Linc and Joel to find their mates, although I truly hope this series expands beyond the last of the super alpha’s because I genuinely adore this world and these characters that DD Prince has created.
Bailey and Jase, once they overcame the obstacles they faced, were truly perfect together. Fate was absolutely spot on to make these two mates. Bailey loved Jase her entire life, and I believe it's because deep down, she already knew he was hers, even before Fate revealed their destiny.
I have to praise DD Prince for handling the delicate situation of their pairing so well. Yes, Bailey took a little too long and, along with the witches, went a little too far for me, personally, but that didn't take away from how much I loved this story. If anything, it made me unable to put this book down to get to them finally being together! DD was attempting to please hordes of readers, demanding Jase suffer. And doing less would most likely have left people unsatisfied.
Jase and Bailey were always meant to be, but their journey was never going to be easy. I'm so glad Jase eventually proved himself worthy of Bailey and that our girl finally got her man! 🙌❤️🔥
This is the fifth book in the series. I would really recommend that you start with the first book. Like so many readers I was very curious about Jason and Bailey’s story! And after reading it, I can say that with each book I love this world more and more! Bailey and Jason’s journey to happiness was emotional, difficult and intense but it was necessary to understand themselves and each other better. A great love story is not easy but it’s worth every tear and every fight.
Bailey had been in love with Jason from a very young age. Everyone knew about her big crush on Jason, even Jason himself. But two things prevented Jason from acting on her feelings, first the fact that Bailey was Grey’s little sister (one of his best friends) and secondly because he was waiting for his destined mate. Although Bailey knew all this, she loved Jason with all her heart but after a few cruel rejections from him, she decided enough is enough. But just then, fate decided to show Jason that his fated mate was Bailey!!! What follows is a difficult road for Jason and Bailey. Everyone, except Bailey, is excited about this turn of events. Unfortunately, Jason hurt her so much with his rejections that Bailey wants nothing to do with him and the mating! She’s angry. Jason doesn’t understand why Bailey fights the mating and him, and the fact that she’s in danger and he can’t help her drives him and his wolf crazy. Jason has never had any problems getting the attention of women, they all fell for his charming smile, but this time he must fight for the love of his mate. Bailey is very stubborn but so is Jason. However, it takes a while before he understands what Bailey wants from him. The more time passes, the more Jason realizes that it was always destined for it to be Bailey. Jason will fight witches, danger and other men for Bailey’s heart. Because if there’s one thing he knows now, it’s that he can’t live without her smile and love.
Wow! This story was intense and emotional. Poor Bailey, so much was happening to her, you could really feel her pain and confusing. I have to admit there was one moment when I was afraid Bailey would go too far, that it wouldn’t end well but fortunately that didn’t happen. The same for Jason, in the beginning he made himself more unpopular with me, until the moment he understood what Bailey needed from a mate. They both had to grow to build a healthy and strong relationship. This couple really needed a slow burn story for that. Something I loved!
Luckily, they could both count on the support of their friends, family and in Bailey, case also the support of the witches. It was wonderful to see how close the women and the men were. (The only one who didn’t support this mating was Jason’s sister Sherry but that didn’t surprise me.) Both Jason and Bailey were loved in the pack, so it was difficult for everyone so see them both so hurt. But everyone did their best to support them both in their own way. The witches played a major role in this story, not only in the relationship between Jason and Bailey, but also in the fight against the danger threatening the pack. The author took the time to repair the relationship between Jason and Bailey and that was necessary.
Bailey was a 25 year old virgin who was afraid of the intense intimacy with a super alpha male, but once Jason had regained her trust with patience, thoughtful dates and gifts and showed her that he was willing to work hard to win back her love and how deep his own feelings for her were, passion erupted between them. It was definitely worth the wait! I was also very happy with the epilogue. The story had a few surprises in it. One of them was so cute that it made me smile big. It was a nice and unexpected surprise for Bailey (and me).
We had to wait to book five to read their story but it was definitely worth the wait. The author gave us a great, intense and emotional love story.
H: Jason Creed (Jase) (1 of the 7th alpha- 5th to be mated) h: Bailey Blackwood- Librarian (half human/shifter-sister of Grayson from book 4) As we all know from reading the past books, Bailey has always been in the mix of things trying to help the ladies get comfortably in the shifter world. Many times, she has said that is unfair that the alphas get to take their mates (female) and they don't get a say in anything. We also know that she has had the biggest crush on Jason for over 2 decades and lately with the stress of being next to be mated Jason has been a little short, hurtful towards Bailey. So at the end of Book 3 where the witch from the SCC tried to drained her powers, well she was using a wand and that needed to be transported somewhere overseas (Italy I think) Dani (Erica's sister is going to go so Jase decided to go as well to spend some time with Dani. Bailey having had enough of being treated so badly by Jason, she overheard Erica and Viv saying that Jason will be in trouble and Bailey w/out thinking she decided to catch a plane and on that plane ride she had a dream of him with apples and then she wakes up Bailey meets this old lady who was knitting some baby booties and gave it to her and told her that she saw her future that she will have a daughter and a puppy. When she got to her destination, Jason wasn't that nice to her even though she was just trying to help. Bailey decided that she had enough of Jason & pretty much that will be the last thing she will do for him after she starts working for the SCC and moving temporarily to Alaska. ANYWAYS in the mist of al the drama that happened there Jason identified her as his mate. She got scared because not only this is the guy who has been pushing her away and treating her badly for the past few months but now all he wants to do is rut her. She feels if it wasn't for fate, he would never pick her up. She wants to feel love and wanted not wanted because of her smell. Dani felt her pain and decided to put a spell on Jason that he won't be able to touch her for 48hrs & if he does touch her, he will get zapped. Bailey feels so strongly about this that she has submitted a petition to allow female a way to put a hold or stop on this mating situation where the male gets to pick the women at all cost (ex: Ivy/Emie) Since then Jason has to work hard to get Bailey to fall in love with him and take him as a mate. I love this story,, Bailey was able to change history and get some law passed where the female gets a say before they are "force" to mating someone they don't now or someone who's abusive. Love that again all these stories are interconnected to some extend with one another. Either the mating is happening together at the same time or very close to each other..
**I wish we could have gotten a little review on Linc (book 6) **
**All this happened at the same time as Cicily (her best friend) and Jared are going through their drama. Book 4.5- Sigma**
*spoilers ahead* I’ve been excited for this couple since book 1 and unfortunately, it fell short. This series has gotten way too convoluted. The constant additions of other packs, alphas, witches, vampires, etc. could be weaved in more seamlessly, but instead feels like they are overtaking the root of the story: the 7 original council members. I enjoy the witches, I do, but they’re meddling too much over the wolves. And I understand that they have history with this pack, but I would have preferred they continued to do their work in the background and left some mystique there. Danica was extremely annoying and overbearing in this book. Bailey who seemed levelheaded and witty came across as a spoiled, immature brat for over half the book. Poor her, her unrequited crush didn’t have feelings for her from day one despite her being 8 years his junior and her older brother’s best friend and fellow council Alpha. I hate to defend a man, and I can understand that stinging, but it was taken too far.
Jase is considered a “manwhore” because he slept around while Bailey carried a torch for him since she could basically form thoughts apparently. This is why I couldn’t get on with the make him suffer brigade. I didn’t see him do anything the others didn’t do before he identified Bailey as his mate besides being a little rude to her. Which call me crazy, but if I’ve gently let someone down for years, I think I’d lose a little patience too and he apologized for that. He didn’t owe her anything, and to the argument that the alphas know they’ll mate one day, I don’t see any outrage for the other members not being virgins? No outcry for Cecily and Lincoln when they figured they wouldn’t be mates and his significant other would have to deal with the fact that he regularly slept with a woman in his pack that he considers a close friend and therefore, she’d have to be in proximity to Cecily for the rest of their lives.
Bailey’s crusade to alter the laws felt ill-intentioned and only based on her own wounded pride. Altering laws that involve the biology/magic system of this world is illogical and kind of defeats the purpose of the whole wolf shifter fated mates trope. I’m not sure if I want to continue the series. I also hated what they did to Sherry. I’m intrigued by Joel and would be interested in Brody/Addy, but only if their stories aren’t bogged down by all the outside interference, rehashings, and uninteresting side characters that the last few have been.
Honestly, this series is such a fun and gripping read - pure escapism! There’s always plenty of plot, spice and humour - all my favourites! It may look like I’ve taken a week to read it, but I’ve savoured it as it will be a long wait until the next! This is the fifth in the series and my advice is to read them in order, as even though each book focuses on the next alpha to be mated, there’s an overarching plot and progression of the story through each of the books. I’ve been waiting for this story since the first book, when we meet both main characters, and it didn’t disappoint at all. The FMC, Bailey, has been holding a candle for the MMC, Jason, since childhood but he’s never been interested - she’s his best friend’s little sister and out of bounds, he’s only been interested in having fun before he identifies his fated mate. He’s been brusque to her in the last couple of books, so she’s decided she’s had enough and is moving on when the mating bond kicks in at the start of the book. Then we have a lot of grovelling from Jason but also realisation from Bailey about her unfair expectations. I really enjoyed how the author showed us both sides - I even had some sympathy for Jase, not what I would have predicted going into the book! This one is a slow burn compared to the others as both MCs have a lot to learn and some growing up to do but even though there’s emotional depth here, there’s also a lot of fun and alpha shifter behaviour along the way. Then we get the usual shifter spice with knotting, marking and possessive behaviour. This series has a great found family, I love the wider characters, the Young family and the way the previous couples feature. Each book has widened the setting, introduced more supernatural characters and progressed the overall plot. This one also raises lots of questions about a female’s right to choose her partner and her life, your free will versus fate and the butterfly effect in the future about decisions made now. Can’t wait to see how that all plays out in the next book of the series with Lincoln’s story.
Hold on tight....This is the best bumpy ride ever!!! Jason Creed and Bailey Blackwood are now considered the dynamic duo!! Jason Creed has been on my "Bad Boy" list for several books now. The way he treated Bailey was inexcusable to me....Until I heard his side of the story. Now, let's be clear...He STILL needed to grovel like no other Alpha Male has groveled before!! However, I understand AND Bailey made him work pretty hard for her heart. This book, as with all DD's other books, suck you in from the very first sentence. I went in knowing that Jason was going to have his work cut out for him. Bailey definitely let him suffer, maybe even a little too much. I understand Bailey. I understand the need to make him suffer.
Now, The Coven tends to put their nose where it probably doesn't belong, however, they do help whenever and wherever they can. The jury is still out on those individuals, but I like how the coven and alphas intermingle and how their storylines make things exciting.
This book is full of excitement, sadness, jealousy...Every Emotion!! Of course, this book ends in a HEA. I love how DD incorporates her past books in the newer books in the series. I love every couple AND I will say, my favorite Alpha (Linc) hasn't even had his book yet!! I cannot wait.
I recommend this series 100 times over. I do recommend you start with Book 1 Wild. You will not be disappointed. Congratulations DD Prince for another 5-Star Read!!!
This book was a *highly* anticipated read for me. I was fully [and expected to remain] anti Jase. I was one of those people DD mentioned from the Facebook group who had dug in their heels and refused to forgive Jase, telling her on many posts that I wasn't sure she could or would sway me. I am shocked, but surprisingly happy? to say that I have been swayed slightly. I am not entirely Team Jase, as a lot of his treatment of Bailey really rubbed me the wrong way, BUT I did see a glimmer of hope in him. DD and her clearly supernatural talent in writing created such fleshed out characters that it was impossible not to love [or hate] them. The same bodes true for their redemption arcs. I loved every second of his uniquely creative suffering, it was beyond deserved. The Young witches are Queens, especially Dani. Absolutely chef's kiss for all of that. I also absolutely LOVED Bailey's surprise. That made me so emotional both for and with her. Superb writing of that and I am looking very forward to seeing what happens with that topic in the future.
In conclusion, I am happy to say DD has managed to sway me to being "Team Jailey". I am not fully in favor of entirely forgiving Jase, but I am beyond happy for how things went. If you have read this series, I strongly suggest you read this one. It deals with some heavy topics and experiences, but it is written quite well.
Tilted is one of those books that quietly takes over your brain and doesn’t let go.
What I appreciated most is how emotionally uncomfortable it’s willing to get. The tension between Jase and Bailey isn’t just dramatic for the sake of it. It feels raw, messy, and at times genuinely frustrating in a way that makes you invested, not annoyed. You’re constantly caught between understanding their choices and wanting to scream at them to just figure it out already.
The slow burn is real here. This isn’t instant gratification. It’s drawn out, layered, and at times almost painful. But that’s exactly what makes the payoff land. When things finally shift, it feels earned instead of handed to you.
There’s also a strong sense that the world and side characters matter just as much as the central relationship. The dynamics between the women especially add depth and moments of levity that balance out the heavier emotional beats.
Overall, this book leans harder into angst and emotional tension than some of the others, but it works because it stays grounded in character. If you like stories where the relationship actually has to fight to exist, this one delivers.
And fair warning, you’re not closing this book with closure. You’re closing it already thinking about what’s next.
I had a lot of expectations going into this one. And honestly, whenever a fandom hypes up a specific pairing this much, there are always going to be readers who end up unhappy with the direction. People just have strong opinions (me included!!) especially with highly anticipated books.
That said, I think the author handled Jase and Bailey’s relationship beautifully. It wasn’t just a simple grovel from Jase after how he treated Bailey. We actually get his POV, his reasoning, and it makes things…complicated. I was firmly Team Bailey the whole time, but I still found myself feeling for Jase too. There’s real growth on both sides, and it felt earned.
And when the spice finally hits, WOW, it is on! It does take a while (like 70%, ladies and gentlemen), and while I do think the pacing made sense (they needed that time to rebuild) by the time I got there I was basically like: D.D. Prince, I need the remaining 30% to be straight smut because I am REEEADY!!!
I loved it, personally. I just really connect with her writing style. The characters feel so real and fully fleshed out, and the way she writes the s€x scenes? Oh. My. God. I always see her vision for the story and end up thinking, yes. This is exactly it.
Super excited for Linc’s story and also Sherry’s unborn baby!!!
