Rate this book
[Siren Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, werewolves, HEA]

Cursed a thousand years ago for the crimes of their forefathers, the warrior men of Lykaios are imprisoned to stay on their island home. This changed when Fate brought forth a solution: instead of them finding their mates, their mates will be coming to the island. Thus, the idea to turn the island into a paradise resort was born.

Construction for the island resort is well under way. Gabriel Montgomery, with his several degrees, was tasked to go to the island and conduct a feasibility study. What he didn’t know was that among its residents was his mate.

Lysander was a broken man who lost all hope of ever finding his mate. Angry, with a short fuse, and living as a pariah for a thousand years, Lysander is surprised—and delighted—when an intriguing man who piques his curiosity enters the forge one day. Unable to help himself, they share a searing kiss that changes both of their lives forever.

This was such a cute and very heartwarming romance. I loved Lysander and Gabriel together as they explored their new relationship. The story was vividly told and the characters were engaging (humorous). I appreciated how openly Gabriel and Lysander communicated with each other, which is highly important to me. Overall, this was an absolutely sweet and delightful read.

At the start of the book we learn that the men of Lykaios were punished, for being mercenaries, by the witches and warlocks that decided to seal their island for over 1000 years, making the Lykaios'men unable to find their mates. It seems to me a stupid decision and really unfair since I'm sure they werent the only men doing mercenary's work at that time.

Lysander is one of the strongest warriors, proud and full of passion, with the strenght of a 100 ppl.The day of their curse he had tried to fight for his freedom but all had been in vain. For over a 1000 years he waited for the curse to be lifted. During these years alone, he learned how to be a blacksmith, becoming in the end a master of this art and putting the anger inside his heart to another use that wasnt the battle or revenge.
Now after the arrive of Rylan and his ppl, every men on the island will have the chance to find their mate, and Lysander is w8 patiently for that moment.

Gabriel is a naive, shy, young man working for Rylan. He doesnt know much about love and never had a lover. He is really good with calculations and numbers and for this reason his part of Rylan's team.

(In this book we also see for the first time Addison that will be the main char of the 3rd book. He is one of Gabriel's friend and colleague, and his opposite. Addison is experienced and sure of himself, something that Gabe envies him.)

Gabriel and Lysander meet for the first time when the young man enters the workshop to interview the other regarding Rylan's plans for the island. From the first moment their eyes meet, they feel attracted to each other. Lysander's wolf wants to claim Gabriel and make him his mate. They are so close now that Lysander wants to touch him and when Gabriel puts an hand on his arm, he decides that he will do it. He leans down and kisses the younger man and the other reciprocates. In the end is Lysander to pull away ending their kiss. Gabriel is shocked by his actions, he never kisses ppl the first time he meets them and says to Lysander that he is sorry and scared about what he will think of him after this. The older man replies that he finds him intriguing and wants to see him again, but Gabriel thinks that this would make things awkward,(dont ask me why or for who...) and Lysander is disappointed but respects his answer, then turns his back to him and starts again working.

Gabriel leaves the shop and goes back on the yatch. There he finds his friends near the bar. When they see his face they understand something is wrong with him. Gabe explains what happened and they tell him to not give up on that man and few minutes after that, out of nowhere comes Fate and tells him the same.

Later that night Gabriel meets Lysander at the springs and the 2 talk, kiss and do something more, but dont go all the way.

The next day Lysander goes to his Alpha and asks him how he should explain to Gabriel about their curse and what they really are. While they are talking Rylan enters in the house and replies that he must go slow and be sincere with Gabriel. Useless to add that soon after also Fate comes and agrees with Rylan. (this is becoming absurd..)

Gabriel and Lysander start to date. Few days later Lysander shows him his wolf form and tells him about the curse and explains to him that he is his mate. The younger man asks him a lot of questions and the wolf answers them all. Later that night Gabriel decides to go all the way with Lysander and tells him he wants to be marked as his mate.

They are a couple and happy. When they meet again Gabriel's friends they ask Lysander about his intentions, they want to be sure he is serious with him and he really is.

That same night Lysander gives Gabriel a ring he made, a symbol of the love he feels for him.Gabriel made Lysander able to smile again, something he had not done in years. He makes him feel complete and better, finally himself. He tells Gabriel that he would w8 another 1000 years if it meant to be with Gabriel in the end. Then he shows him another ring, this one is for himself to wear, they are a pair. They make love again and the scene is sweet and hot at the same time.

They have only known each other for 2 weeks but it seems forever. (well to me doesnt make sense but let's go with this feeling)

In the Epilogue we see that 2 years later the resort is now open and a lot of ppl are coming on the island. Gabriel asks Lysander to go with him meet his family and be with him when he will tell them that he is going to live on Lykaios. Lysander replies that with him he would go anywhere.

This book was more romantic than the 1st one, maybe also bcs the fact that Gabriel was so shy and innocent demanded this different tone, and i liked it more. At the same time i cant give an higher rating bcs there isnt much plot and sometime i found the story a bit boring.

Lysander has only wanted one thing…someone to call his own. So when the fates cursed him and his brethren he is angry. But a thousand years has shown Lysander how to channel his anger into the forge. And then he meets Gabriel. Gabriel is innocent but afraid of him or is he? In the second installment of Frey Ortega’s Lykaios series Lysander gets his opportunity but is he ready to take a chance? I enjoyed meeting Lysander and Gabriel. On the surface you could not get two men more different than these two. But their similarities were equally obvious. Could Mr. Ortega blend those characteristics in such a way as to be believable? I think he did a great job in this story. Both Lysander and Gabriel were innocent but in different ways. Where one was lacking the other was not and together they made a wonderful whole. I enjoyed seeing Lysander lose his angry edge. And I loved seeing Gabriel take a chance on something more that logic and numbers. This story showed an innocence and an old fashioned courtship which I thoroughly enjoyed. The journey Mr. Ortega took us on as Gabriel and Lysander learned to trust each other as well as in each other was well articulated and well worth the read.

This is such a sweet love story. Lysander was cursed over a thousand years ago by beings dead long ago. Upset at being cursed he turns to the forge to work out his anger. One day, this smallish man enters his domain and it is as he woke up from a long slumber.

Gabriel came to the island to work. He knows numbers better than he knows what to do with other people. Then he sees the blacksmith. Holy Moly hotness. Any questions he had to ask him left his head. I don't blame him one bit by the way. Moments later, they kiss.

If you want to know more of what happens after the kiss, read the book. It is a sweet love story, with really hot sex. I would put Lysander in the Badass with a heart of gold category. Le sigh!

the book was ok but needs some serious editing. The wrong name was used a couple of time which I found very confusing, the situation was the same with the first book in this series. Not sure if I will be reading the Next one...
