Smashed Pumpkins

Rate this book
By sundown, the crew will learn the hard in this patch, the pumpkins do the picking.

Valerie is done living the life her mom mapped out. Shaun’s football dreams ended with one bad tackle, and now he’s spiraling without a future. Both need a fresh start, and a day of farmhand work at Farmer Fred’s “Fantastic” Farm, home of Blandville’s Pumpkin Spice Festival, seems harmless enough.

Neither expects to come face-to-face with an old crush while they’re knee-deep in pumpkins and petty chores—let alone feel those sparks reignite. But just as Val and Shaun begin to find comfort, and maybe something more, in each other, Fred’s chemically enhanced fertilizer unleashes a nightmare. The pumpkins carve, the vines want blood, and the volunteers are first on the menu.

Now Val and Shaun must fight their way through one blood-soaked farm if they want to survive the night. Because in Blandville, KY…love might be the only thing strong enough to survive the smash.

If you're a 90s kid who loved Goosebumps and wants to read something with the same vibe then step right up. It's a little silly and campy but quite intense and suspenseful at the same time. It's a short, quick read, so things escalate fast. There's also a coming of age subplot that's reminiscent of many young adult/teen movies from the 80s and 90s.

This book came out a few days ago, so if you're looking for Halloween fun in summer and want to support indie authors then check this out!

Thanks to Friends of 42 for the advanced reader copy.

4.5 stars - Lindsey Montgomery does it again. She mixes humor and horror so well that even a scaredy cat like me devours her stories.

This is a fun Goosebumps style novella about some college kids, a pumpkin farm, and some seriously freaky fertilizer. I would wholeheartedly freak the heck out if I ever got trapped on a murder farm full of killer pumpkins, but I still found myself chuckling throughout the story. On the off chance I didn’t completely lose it, I’d probably be a lot like Valerie, channeling all my eldest daughter energy and throwing out snarky comments while trying to get myself and everyone else to safety.

There are so many hilarious one liners, and the gory pumpkin descriptions are surprisingly effective. I don’t think I’ll be able to look at a pumpkin the same way this fall.

Thank you to the author for providing the of ARC of this book ! All thoughts are my own !
Be still my 90s heart ! I was beyond impressed with this book and the action packed in it ! It definitely gave me that goosebumps vibe as though this was an homage for the kids that grew up reading goosebumps and who are now somehow the adults ! there was very very minimal spice which I’d rate as 1 pepper 🌶️ as there was little detail on that scene. I absolutely loved the characters ! And my jaw actually dropped for them when things started getting REALLY dicey - I’m giving this a 5 because the story/plot was captivating- the characters made me love them - the action was insane ! and this book sang to the 90s kid in me!

This was so much fun to read!!! It’s like Goosebumps met Tales from the crypt and gave birth to a 90s slasher movie, and I loved everything about it.

It’s funny, gory, filled with those “something’s lurking” type of vibes, and there’s so much happening that it makes it impossible to get bored. I really enjoyed the multi POV too because it gave me the chance to experience what they were experiencing, some moments more pleasant than others. It really did feel like a goosebumps story but for adults and honestly, I would’ve LOVED to have had stories like this when I got older because I was obsessed with Goosebumps, RL Stine, and anything that even remotely resembled those style stories. This is definitely a must have for my shelf.

~Smashed Pumpkins~Lindsey Montgomery~

“Fun fact,” she says. “Fear and excitement trigger the same chemicals in your brain. Adrenaline doesn’t care if you’re about to die or ride a roller coaster. Your body just goes, ‘Cool, we’re alive. For now.”

♡What in the 90's fever dream was that & why did my millennial heart love it so dang much?! I'll tell you why...because this story brought me back to my goosebumps obsession! This was my first read by Lindsey & once I picked it up I couldn't put it down!

If you love horror romance with witty banter, questionable pumpkins, & a love for 90's nostalgia look no futher!♡

Smashed Pumpkins is what happens when a creature feature, a slasher movie, and a rom-com crash into a pumpkin patch and decide to wreak havoc together.

This story took me back to my Goosebumps days and I had a helluva good time!

This novella was equal parts creepy, chaotic, hilarious, and surprisingly sweet. Between the monsters, the gore, and the small-town horror vibes, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. But tucked between all the blood splatter and survival chaos was a romance that had me rooting for these characters from the start.

If you’re looking for the perfect Summerween read, grab this one immediately. It’s fast-paced, fun, a little unhinged, and packed with enough spooky season energy to make you wish it was October already. 🎃🖤

This was everything I wanted it to be and more. Atmospheric, tense, gory, with memorable characters and a second chance romance. If you took a great slasher film and turned it into a novella this is what you'd get. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and will 100% read it again. I can't recommend it enough.

This was such a refreshing take on a holiday themed book and horror. I recently got into erotic horror, but this wasn’t exactly that but it still scratched that itch that I wanted for thriller/horror and romance. It screamed 90’s movie horror movie like Jeepers Creepers in a way with everyone fighting to survive to the end.

I’m praying to god the author does another book with this series. I would love a Christmas one 🤭

I received this as an eARC, but I just finished it via KU. I believe this is the author's first novella, and it was a fun ride. I will not look at pumpkins the same way for sure. I was discussing this book with library friends and they said it sounded like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, but you've got to be older to recall that.

I was bummed at first, I don't want to leave spoilers- but things come out of the gate fast. I was wondering who would be left, but I was not left unimpressed.

Where are all my 90s kids?! This is the books child of goosebumps and attack of the killer tomatoes, except replace the tomatoes with pumpkins! This story was so captivating and kept me turning pages to see how these characters would survive the terrors in this book. The witty banter that Lindsey provides is always top tier and makes me cackle out loud. This will take you on a roller coaster of emotion and soul searching all the way to the end.
If you like horror romance, second chances, the perfect amount romance and gore then this book is for you.

Smashed Pumpkins by Lindsey Montgomery
(A Flash Frights Novella)

Quotes: "I’m done living a life scripted by everyone else. The problem? Now that I’ve torn the script apart, I don’t know what comes next."

"Fantastic. A surprise high school reunion at the world’s saddest farm."

"He may be trying to hide his sadness, but his eyes give him away."

“I know you, Val.” His grin comes easy, familiar. “You hate unanswered questions.”

“I’d rather you be annoyed with me than nothing at all.”

"This thing is wearing my friend."

“Great. So the evil pumpkins are patient.”

"No plan. No finesse. Just rage and steel."

"I don’t stop. I won’t stop. Even if I have to crawl. Until I reach her."

Review: Shaun, who's had his sports future taken from him and Valerie who's life isn't going to plan either. Both of whom were an "almost" back in High-school and haven't spoken in a while. Both volunteer to help out at a local farm. Once they see each other again old feelings and hurts emerge to the surface. But unbeknownst to the volunteers on the farm. A dangerous experimental fertilizer has been used and what grows from it is deadly.

Written exactly as the author describes it. In a similar vein as a more adult Goosebumps style story. (Meant in a complimentary way)
I thought the humor and horror in this was well done. The dialogue and bits of banter.
I liked Val using fun facts as a way to process what's happening in the moment. Especially when things get tense.

I like how quickly Shaun and Val feel relatable. Their dynamic doesn't feel rushed. But tangible. Like they're each other's question that never got answered.
The other characters play their roles well. (Lindsey is great with making side characters memorable and stand out.)

The horror parts are gruesome, too.

If you’re a fan of goosebumps but also want some romance to go along with it, I highly recommend you give this a read.
It's fun, only 172 pages and also Available on KU!

Thanks for reading 🎃

THIS IS A DARK SLASHER HORROR WITH A LITTLE BIT OF ROMCOM THROWN IN, READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS

This was my introduction to Lindsey's writing and I think it was the best way. This book is a mix of teen slasher horror movie and small town romcom.

Val is a small town girl who had big dreams, well her mom had big dreams and she spent her high-school years thinking she needed to live up to what everyone else thought she was and thought she wanted. Dropping out of college and returning home to work at Farmer Fred's Fantastic Farm while she figures out what to do next was the plan. Dealing with killer Pumpkin Monsters was not.
Val is easy to connect with, she's going through that phase in her life where she is trying to discover who she is without everyone else's input.

Then there's Shaun, the high-school jock who broke Val's heart, had his football career ruined by an injury and who's parents are complete assholes because football is more important than their son apparently. Dragged to the farm by his best friend to try and get him out of the funk he's in.
Shaun is still processing his life now he doesn't have football to guide him and I think this creates an unspoken bond between him and Val that draws them closer together.

There is a romance there that was ruined before it really started and Val is still mad about it but that only fuels their relationship going forward more. There is a lot of kissing, a little bit of heavy petting and a spicy moment between the two of them before all hell breaks lose.

I love a good horror read, especially if there's a bit of a comedy vibe to it, think Evil Dead, Zombieland, Shaun of The Dead style vibes but with produce.

5 star read for sure, loved it, would highly recommend and I am now going to read Lindsey's other book and any future books she has coming.

4.5 STARS!

I knew EXACTLY what I was signing up for with this one and it delivered.

Sentient murder pumpkins.

Second chance romance.

A former football player and an overachieving science girl trapped on a farm fighting for their lives.

Honestly? I'm into it.

This novella fully embraces the chaos and never once apologizes for it. The moment the pumpkins started moving I knew I was in for a ridiculous ride, and I mean that as a compliment.

What surprised me most was how much I ended up caring about Val and Shaun. Beneath all the murderous produce and horror movie insanity, there's actually a really sweet second chance romance here. Two people who almost had something years ago, both carrying around regrets, finally getting the opportunity to be honest about what happened.

And Shaun's reason for walking away? Sir.

Val was probably my favorite character though. Her coping mechanism is throwing random facts at every situation and honestly I have never felt more seen. The woman is being chased by homicidal pumpkins and she's still pulling out statistics and scientific observations. Icon behavior.

The horror elements were surprisingly gross, too. There are some genuinely creepy moments with the vines, body horror, and pumpkin creatures that had me making faces while reading. The balance between humor, horror, and romance worked really well for me because the story never took itself too seriously.

And the banter? Outstanding.

I lost it at:

"On a scale from one to haunted murder farmhouse..."

This isn't a book you pick up looking for deep literary meaning. This is a book you pick up because you want to watch people fight evil pumpkins with axes, shotguns, pitchforks, and pure stubbornness while also falling in love.

Mission accomplished.

Quotes That Got Me

"I never asked fate for another shot at the game. But I did ask for another shot with you."

"I regret not kissing you that day in the library."

"If we die, at least we're dying together. My brave idiot."

"I am not signing up for a sequel. Or a franchise."

Tropes I Loved
- Second chance romance
- Almost kissed years ago
- Small town vibes
- Nerdy FMC
- Former athlete MMC
- Forced proximity
- Touch him and die
- Surviving together
- Horror comedy
- Monster pumpkins (obviously)
- Found family vibes
- He fell first
- Protective MMC
- Chaos gremlins with feelings

Thank you to sweet Lindsey for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Smashed Pumpkins by Lindsey Montgomery
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

What a delightfully creepy way to kick off Summerween!

Down at Farmer Fred's "Fantastic" Farm, the pumpkins aren't quite what they seem, as the volunteers preparing for the annual Pumpkin Spice Festival quickly discover. As someone who loves both horror and pumpkins, this novella was basically engineered in a lab for me—and Lindsey Montgomery absolutely delivered.

What continues to impress me most about Lindsey's books is her ability to balance horror, humor, and romance without any one element overpowering the others. The scares are genuinely creepy, the humor lands perfectly, and the romance adds just enough heart without distracting from the carnage.

Despite the shorter page count, the story never feels rushed. Val and Shaun are both fully realized characters, and their shared history gives their relationship an authenticity that makes it easy to invest in them. The romantic moments feel natural and earned, even amidst all the bloodshed and pumpkin-fueled chaos.

The farm setting is also incredibly effective. By keeping the cast relatively small, the story gives readers enough time to care about the side characters before things start going very, very wrong. And trust me—things go wrong.

If you love horror with a healthy dose of humor and just a hint of spice, this is absolutely one to add to your TBR. If the rest of the Flash Frights novellas are anywhere near this good, I will be devouring the entire collection. Another fantastic hit from Lindsey Montgomery.

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC.

I’ve read this novella 3 times already. To say I love it is an understatement.
I’m obsessed!
This book smashed its way into my top reads of this year.

Think slasher film with pumpkins (yes! You read that right. The pumpkins ☠️people), add in comedy, and a second chance at romance.
It has everything I could ever want in a book. I laughed so hard I cried at the dark humor. I cringed at the gore. And I sent Lindsey frustrated comments like “HOW COULD YOU!?!?!? 😡🤬”

I love the nostalgic vibes that this brought; I was transported back to when I was younger and reading Goosebumps.

I loved the world that’s created along with the characters (even the bad ones). They’re all so well written. A lot of thought and care went into writing this book. And it shows; it's a phenomenal read.

I struggled after my first read through because I couldn’t talk to anyone about it (ohhh, the struggles of alpha reading).
All I could stay was it’s FREAKING AWESOME!!!

Even now I want to give more details but I’m going to keep this vague. 🤐You’ll thank me later.
But I really need everyone to read this book so we can talk about it.

If you’re feeling brave and ready to laugh your way through a horror story, pick this book up.
Just be careful, trust nothing, and watch out for the pumpkins.

Smashed Pumpkins was the perfect Summerween novella and instantly had me checking to see how many more days until October. A horror-romance set at run down pumpkin farm trying to make a comeback with a huge Pumpkin Spice Festival becomes the scene of nightmares.
Maybe I'm just old, but this gave me some serious 90's Goosebumps vibes, which HELL YES! An old cranky farmer using tainted pumpkin seeds to try and revive his dying farm ends up biting him in the ass when mutant semi sentient pumpkins go on a killing spree, systematically taking down the humans that have wronged them and their kin. Creepy and blood soaked, with some pretty gory kills, this was a bit darker than the RL Stine books I read as a kid, and I love every minute!
The romance was cute (and just a little spicy). The brainy bookish achiever in high school leaves college because she wants to find what she really wants in life, but instead finds herself volunteering at a pumpkin farm with her high school crush, a football player who almost kissed her but then ghosted her. But he didn't forget her, so now they have a second chance at love if the mutant killer pumkins don't kill them first.

🌸 Review 🌸

Thank you so much Lindsey Montgomery for this ARC!!

This book truly does give 90s Goosebumps vibes. Lindsey Montgomery is a master at descriptive imagery. Every scene played out perfectly in my mind. On that note, some of those scenes very much freaked me out, but good job! This was gruesome, yet brilliant.

All of the characters had distinct voices with interesting personalities. They also felt very relatable in feeling lost and not knowing what you want to do with your life and what your next chapter is going to be. I, for one, can relate heavily in that aspect.

Character wise, if I was one of them, I fear I would be Cole purely because of my allergies to everything.

Little out of context note that I made while reading: Ch. 11 - why are you following the blood trail? Don’t do that! Go back! Save yourselves! But to quote Ch. 16 Val, “your brain hates not knowing more than it hates danger.” I respect that, but also WHYYYY?!

[4.5] rounded up.
Thank you to the author for my ARC!
Such a fun read! Fast paced and unexpectedly funny.
This book was definitely eerie. At one point I was reading this in silence and my dog barked and I screamed. If you grew up on goosebumps this is the same vibe and right up your alley.

I’d definitely recommend for spooky season or even a late Summerween read. And I will be thinking twice before carving another pumpkin.

Lindsey is a wordsmith. The amount of times she described something ominous but made it beautiful is insane.

“A chorus of burning things that never had mouths but somehow found voices anyway”

“The corn starts whispering. Leaves scrape together, low and secretive, like they’re trading jokes at my expense.”

The characters had a good amount of depth to them for a shorter story. I was rooting for Shaun the whole time. Hoping he’d live up to the redeemed baby boy title.

Absolutely heartbroken about Drew he was such a sweet soul. Except when it comes to pumpkins.

Thank you to the author and the publisher or publishers for all your hard work! I'm leaving this review voluntarily and happily! Take a look!

This was a blast. I really enjoyed this from start to finish. The cover art is really fun too. You really connect with the main characters rather quickly as they are likable and relatable. The story flows really well and I had no problems enjoying the gore and the deaths that happened. Once the action starts it dont stop and thats something I really enjoy. I have a hard time with slow burn books especially long books. You dont have to worry about that at all here. Also if your squimish about dismembered or torture I wouldnt suggest this book to you.

There is some spice in this book not a huge amount but be warned just a little. Not appropriate at all fot young children. As you can see from above. Read at your own risk.

The creatures/monsters in this were definitely interesting and I bet fun for the writer to write. I certainly had fun reading all about it throughout the book. Im just weird like that and enjoy the gore and torment.

🎃 Pumpkins, a dash of spice 🌶️, and everything is not so nice in this slasher meets rom-com novella!

Val & Shaun get a second chance at rekindling a romance when they unexpectedly end up as farmhands at Fred’s “Fantastic” Farm 👨‍🌾. However, it’s not long before monster-like, killer pumpkins roll in and try to spoil their fun!

I absolutely loved Lindsey’s use of descriptive writing to really draw you into the scenes/action and the way she created the images in my mind made me so on edge waiting to find out whether or not the characters would make it out alive was perfect!

My absolute favorite little parts were the ever so random “fun facts” that Val just spits out in the most unexpected moments 😂 “Your brain throws out random information during extreme fear to keep you from shutting down completely.”

If you dig monsters, small town horror vibes, evil pumpkins, multiple POVs, and slasher meets rom-com themes, then you definitely need to check this one out when it releases 6.2.26!

I absolutely loved this! Lindsey has done it again.
From the very first page, I was hooked by the characters. They're relatable, believable, and written in a way that makes it easy to get inside their heads and connect with them. The balance of horror and comedy is spot on, with just the right amount of gore to keep horror fans happy while delivering plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.
Minor spoiler ahead: NERDS RULE.
What I loved most was how seamlessly Lindsey blended horror, romance, and comedy into one incredibly entertaining story. Even with moments of tragedy woven throughout, the book never loses its charm or momentum.
In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I read it twice. The second time around, I found myself reading sections aloud to my husband because I couldn't wait to share some of my favorite moments.
If you're looking for a fun, gory, hilarious horror romp with heart, this is definitely one to pick up. Honestly, I would love to see this adapted into a short horror-comedy film.

This book I absolutely loved. If you loved goosebumps growing up, this would definitely be the book for you. You have some teens that need work and think about what is next in life, one that has to do some community service. But what they all have in common is doing work on a farm that something horrible is about to happen. Fred’s chemically enhanced fertilizer unleashes a nightmare all cause he needs something different to stand out this year! And bring people back to his farm. Does it work?

My gosh this was a fun book! The way she describes what is going on with the characters and the pumpkin patch is perfect to start off your Halloween vibes. Halloween lives rent free in my head but this book makes it so much more alive! I wouldn’t mind reading this book over again just to make sure I didn’t miss anything!

You have heads rolling and blood - socked fun time! If you are looking for something to jump you into the season….. pick this one up! I read this book in one setting cause I couldn’t put it down! 🎃

Smashed Pumpkins
By Lindsey Montgomery
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If Planet Terror and Pumpkinhead had a chaotic, gore-filled baby… this would be it.

This novella was absolutely ridiculous—in the best way. Campy as all get out, but with just enough substance beneath the surface to keep it from being pure fluff. You’ve got college kids trying to figure themselves out, a brewing romance, a jerk farmer chasing success, a loyal best friend, a caring mom, shady fertilizer distributors, and yes… even a social media influencer thrown into the mix.

The story centers on Shaun and Val, and I loved both their mutual longing and their total bad-assery. Cole is there too… but he felt more like an afterthought for me.

This was my first read from Montgomery, and it definitely won’t be my last. Between this story and her Instagram presence, I already know she’s exactly my kind of zany.

Thank you to Lindsey Montgomery for the ARC of Smashed Pumpkins!

This book felt like the perfect homage to those campy 90s horror stories I grew up loving. It was fun, chaotic, creepy, and even had me laughing at times.

The story mostly follows Val and Shaun (though there are a few other POVs sprinkled in). The group is volunteering at Farmer Fred’s Fantastic Farm, helping prepare for the annual festival.

What starts as a boring seasonal job quickly turns into absolute mayhem when they find themselves fighting for survival against sentient killer pumpkins.

It’s basically Goosebumps for adults with a little spice thrown in, and that description alone sold me.

If you love cheesy horror vibes, creepy fall settings, and stories that don’t take themselves too seriously while still being entertaining, this is definitely worth checking out.

I absolutely loved this book! It’s giving goosebumps vibes mixed with a little more gore and a pinch of romance. It has a sort of nostalgic feeling to it because of the goosebumps vibes and I love that. The pacing of this story is perfect and kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end! I love all of the characters in this book, especially the two main characters. Their dynamic with each other is literally perfect. I personally appreciate when a book is written in multiple point of views so that you can get a better grasp on the characters personalities and their side of everything, so I’m really glad that Lindsey did that for this book. It adds a lot of depth to the story.

I definitely recommend Smashed Pumpkins by Lindsey Montgomery. It’s a perfect read for readers who want a horror story that is action packed with a touch of romance!

Thank you to the author and 42Fold Studio for the ARC!

This definitely gave the vibe of the Goosebumps series but more mature! If you want something horror but dont want the full commitment, this is a great read for that!

So this is my first time reading a romance and horror genre, and surprisingly I enjoyed it! It has Slasher meets Rom-Com with a second chance romance.

For being a novella, the author did an amazing job keeping a balance between Rom-com and horror.
The banter between characters were funny and the author still kept the horror scenes GRUESOME (as it should be). If it dont give you the ick the novel aint sick! 🙂‍↕️ and I most definitely got the ick, still gonna eat pumpkin pie and pumpkin spice lattes tho 💁🏻‍♀️

Overall dont be expecting like, The Ruins type of horror writing, its still a great mini horror story 💕 I highly recommend!

📚 ARC 📚

“We’re in the dimension where haunted murder farmhouse is run by demonic pumpkin heads with a necromancy quota.”

I don’t often struggle with body horror and gore, but this book delivered something to me that turned my stomach in the best way.

The scenes of horror and panic played so well together with the romance at the heart of this tale. And whilst some of the dialogue is cringy, it managed to capture the spirit of the best b-horror movies around.

I don’t want to say too much, as this is only a short story (under 200 pages), but I can say I’m thankful pumpkins aren’t everywhere right now. 😅

Thank you so much to 42 Fold for this advanced copy. Smashed Pumpkins came out June 2nd, and if you’re looking for a fun, spooky read this Summerween, then you should definitely check it out!

I had the absolute pleasure of Alpha reading and ARC reading, and let me tell you, this story is a wilder than a hay ride.

It begins with a group of misfit young adults helping out at Farmer Fred’s Farm for the annual pumpkin festival, then quickly (and gruesomely) turns into pumpkin chaos and vines galore.

The second chance romance was super cute and pumpkin spicy considering the length of the novella.

The side characters were all so unique and fun, they really left me guessing who was going to survive to the end.

Fans of zombies, goosebumps, and attack of the killer tomatoes, you will absolutely en-gourd yourself with this book. But, you might not look at Jack-o-lanterns the same way. You have been warned.

Did I mention it’s also hay-larious and full of puns?

Okay so I read this while I was being tattooed today by my best friend. This was truly the best way to distract myself from my getting thigh absolutely BLASTED.

This novella was fun, campy, silly, bloody and the deaths?? GRUESOME. I LOVED IT.

I’m normally not a fan of multi-POV but it worked so well for this and I’m so glad we got more than just the 2 MC’s POV’s! Made me feel bad for the other characters once they…yanno…but that’s why I love books like these! You introduce me to a character, make me like them even the teeniest bit, then bam, MURDER THEM. And the grief this causes the MC’s is just.. 🤌🏼

The fight scenes were also incredible! Truly, I don’t know if I would have survived if I was a character in this book. I like to think I could take on sentient pumpkins, but realistically I’d probably be gone within the first few chapters.

Oh and it was NASTY. The descriptions for the blood, cuts, scrapes, pumpkin innards…absolutely GNARLY. Again, LOVE IT.

This short novella really took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting the mix between a slasher teen movie and a cute romcom.

We first meet Val, who dropped out of college, and she will not go back until she can figure out who she really is. She spent all of high school trying to be the best student for her mom, but now she has bigger dreams. She starts working in Farmer Fred's Fantastic Farm, not expecting to find Shaun (her high school crush).

Shaun is such a nice guy; his life didn't turn out the way he wanted, and running into Val just gives him the motivation he was missing. However, they weren't expecting to reunite on a farm with killer pumpkins that are the most gross and scary things you can imagine.

This concoction between horror movie and small-town romcom was so entertaining as it was scary. Thank you, Friends of 42 and Lindsey Montgomey, for the opportunity to read this as an ARC.
