Four sisters. One broken bond. A world on the brink of collapse.
Four sisters, bound not by blood but by magic—destined to protect Aelythium, until betrayal shattered their bond. And without it… Aelythium will fall.
Exiled into the human world, stripped of every memory and forced to begin again as an infant, Zythera’s life is no longer her own. The world she was torn from is no longer the one she remembers.
But just before her twenty-first birthday, strange things begin to happen.
And when the clock strikes midnight… Zythera—along with her sisters—awakens.
One sister is missing—hidden beyond reach—and without her, the bond that once held them together cannot be restored. To find her, they must return to the lands they once knew.
But Zythera draws the unwanted attention of her enemy, the dark prince… and his interest is far from harmless.
Zythera carries a power long thought lost. To understand it, she must uncover what truly happened to the Fire Court—and why its legacy was erased.
Because Zythera’s bloodline is unlike any other—powerful enough to break a curse no one can name… or unleash something far worse.
As demons rise and temptation coils ever tighter, Zythera is pulled deeper into a world where trust can kill—and desire burns just as fiercely as betrayal.
Will she rise… or will her fire consume everything?
Crimson Unleashed is the first book in the dark romantasy series The Aelythium Saga, perfect for readers who love slow-burn romance, morally grey princes, powerful heroines, and a world where magic and danger go hand in hand.
T. Isara is a Belgian dark romantic fantasy author, mother, and quiet dreamer at heart.
She writes in the in-between moments, after bedtime stories have been told and the house finally falls still. Her love for fantasy began in childhood and never truly left; it simply grew with her, shaping the worlds she now creates.
She fell in love with stories written in English, drawn to the rhythm and emotion woven into every sentence. In time, she knew her own stories were meant to be written in that same language.
At home, she shares her days with her family and her beloved Maine Coons, whose gentle presence - and occasional chaos - remind her that even the fiercest creatures can be soft. She believes stories are a kind of magic, the kind that lingers long after the final page.
“I am fire in a marble courtyard. Flames dance from my fingertips as laughter surrounds me while the sun is warm on my skin and the world is alive with possibility.”
I loved this book. I flew through it, the pacing was great, and it had that addictive “just one more chapter” energy the whole way through.
Zythera starts off living a completely normal mortal life, unaware of who she really is, and I really enjoyed watching everything shift as her memories and power begin to surface.
“No wonder my power has always felt wrong…like something inside me is constantly fighting to break free.”
One of the strongest parts for me was Zy’s identity arc. There are layers of history tied to her bloodline, the Fire Court, and what really happened there, and it keeps unfolding in a way that holds your attention without feeling overly dumped on.
The sisterhood element also really worked. The bond between them gives the story a grounding point, especially as everything else becomes more chaotic and uncertain.
“It was like my fire wanted his shadow and his shadow wanted my fire—two opposing forces that, instead of destroying each other, reached out, hungry, longing to merge.”
The romance kept me on edge in a good way. There were moments where I genuinely wasn’t sure where it was heading or what direction it would take next, which made it more engaging than predictable.
Luminara was a standout for me as well. The phoenix bond added something really unique, and I loved every scene that involved her.
“He looks less like a man and more like something that hunts in the dark and enjoys every second of it.”
The worldbuilding leans heavily into demons, ancient secrets, and a past that no one fully understands yet, which keeps the tension running underneath everything.
“I know every spark, every lie you whisper to yourself in the mirror, and every secret you try to burn away.”
And the ending was absolutely unhinged in the best way. It ramps everything up and makes book two feel essential immediately.
Chaos, vibes, and opinions are all my own ✨ please give credit if you share.
First things first: so thankful I got to read this book as part of The Aelythium Circle ARC team! This was such a fun, exhilarating read. Lots of mystery and intrigue from the start, slowly picking up pace along the way until you’re unable to stop reading. Never knowing who to trust or where the story will take you, this story never bores, never gets predictable. Dubious love interests, magical creatures and so much FIRE! This book was hot in more ways than one. Great world building and characters and an ending that felt more like a beginning: with so much yet to uncover, I cannot wait for book 2 in this series.
I absolutely loved this story and all the connections formed between the characters, even the ones you love to hate. I hated that I started the story for the sole fact that I want more of it and I have to wait 😩.
There is so much secrecy in this book along with betrayals and hidden agendas. Most of the book is proving the old saying: "trust nothing you hear and half of what you see" when it comes to Zy's life and that of her fallen court.
The bond between "The Flames" (Zythera, Nyxara, Mireya, and Kaia) from the start of the book is strong yet strenuous all because trust appears to be broken and feelings can't becontrolled. This leads to their lives being rewritten, but nothing stays hidden forever. Year 21 is the key that unlocks their memory and ends the world as they thought they knew it.
From there on out there is action, small revelations, hot and steamy time, along with a chemistry that is off the charts between Zy and the prince of Shadows, Zhaen.
[Side note: Zhaen himself has secrets that drive him and although one was revealed I believe there is still a lot left to unpack. I so can't wait until that point comes because I have loved his character since first intro on page, although I probably shouldn't have 😅. But he is so good at being hated and I am here for it.]
With all this going on and two devastating heartbreaks Zy finally is pushed to the brinks and decides to take things into her own hands. Turning into who she needs to be in order to achieve her goals. We are left with her beginning to claim everything that belongs to her and I can't wait to see how everything unfolds in the next book now that old Zy has been buried.
In short: READ THIS BOOK!! You won't be disappointed
✨✨✨✨ 4-Star Review – Crimson Unleashed by T. Isara While I was on the ARC Team, all opinions are my own! ❤️🔥
Crimson Unleashed completely pulled me in from the very first chapter. The pacing was fantastic, balancing mystery, action, and intrigue in a way that kept me saying, “just one more chapter” long past when I should have gone to sleep.
I loved following Zythera as her ordinary life unraveled and hidden truths about her past, her powers, and the Fire Court began to surface. Her journey of self-discovery was one of my favorite parts of the book, and each new revelation only made me more invested in what was happening.
The world-building is rich with ancient secrets, demons, magical creatures, and political tension, creating an atmosphere that feels both immersive and unpredictable. I especially enjoyed the sisterhood dynamic, which gave the story a strong emotional core amidst all the chaos.
The romance added another layer of tension, I was never quite sure where things were heading, which made every interaction even more compelling.
And that ending? Absolutely wild in the best possible way. It answers just enough questions to satisfy while opening the door to even bigger mysteries ahead. Crimson Unleashed is definitely worth picking up. I can’t wait to see where the series goes next! 🔥✨📚🖤
Crimson Unleashed pulled me in from the very first chapters and refused to let go.
The story follows four sisters bound by powerful magic who are punished by having their lives rewritten. When Zythera turns 21, her memories suddenly return, setting her on a journey with her sisters Mireya and Kaia to find their missing sister, Nyxara. What starts as a quest quickly turns into something much bigger, filled with ancient secrets, forgotten history, heartbreaking betrayals, emotional damage and impossible choices.
And then there's Zhaen, the Shadow Prince. The chemistry between him and Zythera was absolutely incredible. Every interaction had me wondering whether they were enemies, reluctant allies, or something far more dangerous. The tension was so well done, and I already need more of them.
I loved how the world slowly unfolded without revealing all its secrets at once. Every answer seemed to uncover even more questions, making it impossible to stop reading. The emotional moments hit hard, and by the time I reached the final pages, I was desperate to know what happens next.
The ending doesn't wrap everything up, it feels like the beginning of something much bigger and now I'm in desperate need of the sequel.
If you love fantasy with magical sisters, hidden pasts, betrayals, slow-burning tension, and a Shadow Prince who will absolutely steal your attention, this is one to add to your TBR.
First of all, thank you to T. Isara for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader on this one!
This book hooked me from the very beginning. You’re given just enough information to be desperate for more! The main character is a badass that stays a badass while also growing and changing as a woman?!?! HELLO?!?! There were so many surprises and twists that I had to stay on my toes the entire time. Not to mention the world of Aelythium is painted in gorgeous, evocative prose. I’d catch myself sighing when I looked up to find myself on my couch after existing in such a lush world.
Now, for the romance. The tension could be cut with a knife and served for dessert. You get hit with the heat right from the start, and it does NOT let up. The spice is next level!!! I genuinely don’t know how I’m going to survive waiting for the next book.
This book is a very good read, it is slow paced in the beginning but definitely not boring there is so much mystery, so much is happening but it’s also not really predictable which is lovely 🖤it really goes into details & to me details are extremely important when it comes to a book ❤️🔥 It kept me on my toes , it had me stressed (in a good way of not wanting to stop reading) The FMC is literally normal mortal but little did she know she was anything but that! The romance was good, a little crazy , there’s parts where it like girl not him plssss but who doesn’t love chaos. The ending I could not put my kindle down , im extremely excited for what comes next in book 2 ❤️🔥
Absolutely 5 star must read!! For a debut novel this was absolutely spectacular!! Like dark fantasy?? You’re going to want to read this! Magical bonds ✅ Magical creatures ✅ Great plot ✅ Politics ✅ Fae ✅ Morally grey shadow prince ✅ Emotional damage ✅ Prophecies ✅ Intrigue ✅ Spice ✅
This bloke was so well written with great plot and spice throughout. Throw in emotional damage and great side characters, twists and a mega cliff hanger and well! I need book 2 yesterday please!!
I absolutely love this book!! The first thing I thought when I started reading was, "This isn't just another Fae story," and I still felt that way by the end!
It’s not like all those other predictable Fae stories. Questions keep arising, and the answers are never what you expected.
It’s an emotional rollercoaster, and I was right in the middle of it! From laughing while reading to a broken heart and even shedding a tear!
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy and wants something different from the usual stuff.
Crimson Unleashed was a book that hooked me from the very first page! The world building was top tier, the spice was hot and all the twists had me on the edge of my seat!
This is definitely a must read and I hope there is a second book!
The fact that Mireya is part of the characters was pretty cool to find out. Its close to my name. Anyways 😆 so far I like that its 4 sisters each owning a power of fire water teleportation and shifting. Making them powerful enough to stop the shadow prince, which OMG the chemistry between Zhaen and Zythera. Im not liking Serik at first yes but now im not so sure. I KNEW IT!!!! SERIK YOU JERK! Zhaen was always meant to be hers. Wtf, the end????
Initially, I was drawn into this book, but my interest wavered at times. While the plot was strong, the female character was a bit annoying, and the book felt like it dragged on. Thank you to the author for the ARC opportunity
First off I just need to thank T.Isara for allowing me to be part of her ARC Team.
Crimson Unleashed was amazing from start to finish, it held my attention that much that I didn’t want to put it down (life happened and that’s the only reason it took me longer than a day or 3 to finish it!!)
The ride this story takes us on is next level and while it’s slow burn there is still some good spice in there 😉 but still so much story that it’s not all spice.
If you want to read about a FMC who can hold her own and finds herself more and more through the book this is for you. Zy is everything a strong FMC is about and I seriously cannot wait for the next book to come out. That ending has me wanting more!!!

Crimson Unleashed is the first book in the dark romantasy series The Aelythium Saga, perfect for readers who love slow-burn romance, morally grey princes, powerful heroines, and a world where magic and danger go hand in hand.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5/5)
Crimson Unleashed completely pulled me in from the very first chapters, and more than once I found myself saying, “Just one more chapter…” only to realise it was way past my bedtime!
The world-building was fantastic, with Aelythium feeling rich, immersive, and full of mystery. I loved discovering the magic system alongside Zy as she went from a confused 21-year-old living on Earth to a strong, fierce member of the Fire Court. Watching her grow into her power while uncovering the truth about her past made her such an easy character to root for.
One of my favourite parts of the book was the bond between the four Flames. Their sisterhood—bound by magic rather than blood—was beautifully written and really highlighted the idea that family is the people who stand beside you when everything falls apart. One quote that perfectly captured this was:
“Family is not always the blood you are born with… but the ones who refuse to let you stand alone.”
I also adored that this story didn’t just give us dragons, but a phoenix as well. Luminara absolutely stole my heart, and the bond between her and Zy was one of the standout relationships in the book.
The romance has all the ingredients I love in a romantasy: slow burn, plenty of tension, and a morally grey prince who knows exactly how to make your heart race. Zhaen had some incredible lines, but this one completely won me over:
“Because every time I try, it pulls harder. Because you’re in my head, in my skin, in every shadow I command. And I’m tired of fighting it.”
Another quote that stayed with me long after I finished was:
“We also celebrate love that chooses to stay, even when magic is gone.”
With fantastic pacing, compelling characters, found family, dragons, a phoenix, magic, betrayal, and plenty of unanswered questions, Crimson Unleashed is an addictive start to The Aelythium Saga. I’m already looking forward to seeing where Zy’s journey takes her next.
If you’re a fan of dark romantasy with powerful heroines, slow-burn romance, morally grey love interests, found family, and magical creatures, this is definitely one to add to your TBR.
Crimson Unleashed completely swept me up — the kind of romantasy that ticks every single box I’m looking for. I was hooked from the first chapter and genuinely found myself thinking about the story even when I couldn’t be reading. This book feels like it has everything: a strong sister bond, an awesome FMC I immediately rooted for, a brooding MMC with layers, and a romance that brings the spice without overshadowing the plot. The writing kept me guessing in the best way — every time I thought I knew what was coming, the story shifted just enough to keep me on my toes.
There were a few moments (especially around Luna’s arc) that felt quicker than expected, but as the story unfolded I could see how that tied into the bigger picture. And that ending… it didn’t break me emotionally, but it absolutely left me wanting more. It ends right as things get really juicy, and now I’m stuck waiting for book two — which feels mildly cruel in the best ARC‑reader way.
As a busy mum, I really appreciated the chapter lengths. They’re short, tight, and easy to squeeze into pockets of time. I’m fairly sure none were over the 20‑minute mark, which made this such an accessible and bingeable read.
Overall, Crimson Unleashed is a fantastic romantasy with a bit of everything: magic, tension, family bonds, romance, mystery, and characters you can’t help but care about. Highly recommend to anyone who loves the genre.
4.5⭐️ and already impatiently waiting for the next book.
This book lives and breathes feminine rage, sisterhood and the power of transformation, I couldn't put it down! ♀️🔥
Zythera is an absolute powerhouse of an FMC, she's deadly, has a temper, wields fire as easy as breathing and knows exactly what she wants. She's fiercely loyal and protective of those she loves but I feel that she's also easily manipulated and lacks confidence in her ability to control her power which is exploited throughout the story. I wasn't entirely sure how the love story was going to go at first as there are other men in the frame however Zhaen and Zy together are absolute perfection and he plays our misunderstood MMC shadow daddy amazingly! ❤️
I was obsessed with the world-building in Crimson Unleashed. I loved the stark contrast between the modern day and Aelythium. The descriptions were magical and immersive - I really felt like I had been transported to another world! 🌏
Elemental magic is my favourite and I enjoyed that the possibilities seemed unique and endless. People could fight, heal, travel through portals regardless of the type of magic they possessed. I also liked the exploration of different courts and lineage.
If you love a lot of characters and personalities you will adore this book! Aside from our MC's there are a plethora of intriguing people to meet and it's impossible to tell at times who our heroes and villians are!
I don't want to spoil anything but the revelation near the end, the actual end itself and the possibilities for the next book are soooo exciting I was squealing and kicking my feet! 👏🔥✨️
Crimson Unleashed completely surprised me. Every time I thought I had figured out where the story was going, it proved me wrong, making it impossible to stop reading. It has that addictive “one more chapter” feeling that kept me hooked from beginning to end.
One of my favourite parts was Zythera’s journey. Watching her slowly uncover the truth about herself, her powers, and the Fire Court made every revelation feel rewarding. She’s strong, determined, and never loses herself, which made her incredibly easy to root for.
The worldbuilding was another standout. Between the different Courts, elemental magic, demons, forgotten history, and hidden bloodlines, the world feels rich and full of mysteries that are only just beginning to unfold. I also loved the bond between the sisters it gave the story so much heart.
The romance kept me guessing the entire time. I genuinely didn’t know who to trust or where things were heading, and I loved that uncertainty. The slow burn, the tension, and a morally grey love interest? Exactly what I want from a romantasy.
And then there’s the ending… it answers just enough while leaving you desperate for book two. I closed this book with even more questions and I mean that as the highest compliment.
If you love dark romantasy with powerful heroines, found family, slow burn romance, magical worlds, and plenty of secrets waiting to be uncovered, I definitely recommend adding this one to your TBR.
First of all, thank you to the author, T. Isara, for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
'Crimson Unleashed' was kind of a rollercoaster for me. Why? Because I kept thinking I knew what was going to happen or in which direction the plot would go... only to find out I was wrong, haha. So yeah, not the average predictable story. And in this case, that's a positive thing. It kept me wanting to read on and on, because I needed some answers!
Our FMC Zythera had my respect once I realised she wasn't the type to immediately fall head over heels in love with the first guy to give her spicy attention. (Her Fire powers aren't the only hot thing in this book)
Like me while reading this book, Zy also needed some answers. About herself, her lineage, the Fire Court, what her connection to Zhaen seems to be...
The bond Zythera has with her sisters is beautiful, even more so because they aren't sisters by blood, and because they all seem to really empower one another.
As for all other characters: I had no idea who to trust, still don't haha. That was the most interesting part of it all: not knowing what the right thing for Zy to do was, not knowing who was good or evil (except for a few who were deffo evil and nothing else). And that ending only made that feeling stronger! Like... I need to know what happens next, give me book 2 already, haha.
From start to finish this book was one wild roller-coaster of a ride!
Zythera the FMC really does goes through it, so much happens to her from the first chapter and literally doesnt not stop. Action packed, with magic, badass fight scenes and a quest like storyline it really did fill my cup for a dark fantasy book!
I for one love a strong, powerful FMC and Zythera was it. I loved the found family with her sister's who were not sisters by blood but the fierce bond they shared and how they was all tied together really made their connection beautiful. This story kept me on my toes wanting to figure out what was going on, who to trust because honestly everyone was a little sketchy 👀 plus I appreciated the grown up feel that my gurl Zy, could have a good time without falling head over heels straight away. However I do love a good shadow daddy & Zhaen was that! 🫶🏽
The imaginative storytelling within this book is really what set this apart for me. With magic, mythical creatures and world building that made it easy for me to be apart of the world the author built. I liked the dark vibes and the sometimes creepy settings. It was a mixture of everything but without being too much either.
I dont want to give spoilers, but this is a book you need to add to your tbr piles, because you will not regret it! Can't wait to see how the rest of the saga unfolds.
What happens when the truth has been buried for far too long?
Political betrayal, elemental powers, and sisterhood.
This story pulled me in right from the very beginning. Watching Zythera and her sisters slowly reclaim their memories while trying to survive in a world that feared their existence made this feel far more emotional than I expected. Their connection felt powerful and was an absolute necessity for surviving the realms.
“Courage and caution together. A rare combination.”
That quote perfectly captures the heart of this story. Strength alone was never enough. These characters constantly had to balance bravery with wisdom while navigating loss and destiny itself.
I’m excited to see where this series goes next.
4⭐️ Thank you T. Isara for giving me the opportunity to read this arc.
I had the privilege of beta reading this book, and I cannot stop thinking about it.
This book was an absolute rollercoaster of emotions from beginning to end. One moment I was completely swooning, the next I was stressed, heartbroken, shocked, or screaming at the plot twists. It constantly kept me on edge and managed to surprise me in ways I genuinely didn’t expect.
The mix of romance, tension, danger, and emotional depth made it impossible to put down, and the story stayed with me long after I finished reading.
I’m beyond excited for the day this story finally gets released into the world, because it truly deserves to be read. Having had the chance to beta read it makes me even more emotional and proud, and I already know I’ll be recommending it to everyone once it’s out.
I enjoyed this one right from the prologue. It hooked me immediately!
I loved the world building and the overall concept of the story. There’s action, spice, and plenty of mystery woven throughout. I found it hard to put down because every chapter left me wanting more, and eager to see where the story would go next.
The MFC is very much a shoot first, ask questions later kind of badass, and I loved watching her growth throughout the book. The ending left me wanting more, because this battle is far from over. There are still so many mysteries to uncover and questions waiting to be answered.
I’m definitely looking forward to book two!
Thank you, T. Isara for the ARC for your new series!
I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to join the ARC team.
Reflecting on my experience with “Crimson Unleashed,” I find it challenging to articulate my thoughts comprehensively. By the conclusion of the book, it seemed that much of the early events lacked significant impact, except for the deaths of their sister and Luna. It appeared as though there was considerable filler content leading up to the finale.
There were numerous instances that disrupted my engagement with the narrative, requiring me to refocus. While I was not entirely captivated by the first 80% of the book, I did appreciate the conclusion.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This was such a fun dark fantasy romance read. It had the perfect mix of danger, tension, and addictive chemistry, with an interesting world and magic system that kept me turning pages. I loved the darker vibe, the steamy tension, the yearning and the banter. I’m also a huge fan of magical creatures and loving that we will likely be seeing more of them as the story unfolds. I can’t wait to see what happens next and hope we get more back story on the MMC. If you like fantasy romance with intensity, intrigue, and plenty of swoony moments, this one is definitely worth picking up.
Thank you to T. Isara for providing me with this ARC.
I was captivated from beginning to end, always wanting to know what happened next, and oh what an end! The pages of this book sizzle and crackle, and yes, it gets pretty steamy too.
The story takes sisterhood, grief, lust and anger, mixes it with a healthy dose of magic, fae and mythical creatures, and turns it into something truly unforgettable! The cruellest part now is having to wait for book 2.
Hi! I'm T. Isara ❤️🔥 Just popping in to say thank you for giving Crimson Unleashed a chance. Whether you're here for the magic, the romance, the chaos, the sisterhood, or the morally grey men... I hope you have the best time. Thank you for reading, reviewing, and supporting indie authors. It truly means the world. Happy reading! ❤️
Wow! This book sent me through a Rollercoaster of emotions!! I cannot believe that finale! I am so shocked!!! I LOVED this book!! 🔥 my review is so short because honestly im going to be staring at a wall for awhile now! Im nearly SPEECHLESS! I am so grateful to have been a part of the arc team!!!! Thank you so much!!!
