I loved this book. I flew through it, the pacing was great, and it had that addictive “just one more chapter” energy the whole way through.
Zythera starts off living a completely normal mortal life, unaware of who she really is, and I really enjoyed watching everything shift as her memories and power begin to surface.
“No wonder my power has always felt wrong…like something inside me is constantly fighting to break free.”
One of the strongest parts for me was Zy’s identity arc. There are layers of history tied to her bloodline, the Fire Court, and what really happened there, and it keeps unfolding in a way that holds your attention without feeling overly dumped on.
The sisterhood element also really worked. The bond between them gives the story a grounding point, especially as everything else becomes more chaotic and uncertain.
“It was like my fire wanted his shadow and his shadow wanted my fire—two opposing forces that, instead of destroying each other, reached out, hungry, longing to merge.”
The romance kept me on edge in a good way. There were moments where I genuinely wasn’t sure where it was heading or what direction it would take next, which made it more engaging than predictable.
Luminara was a standout for me as well. The phoenix bond added something really unique, and I loved every scene that involved her.
“He looks less like a man and more like something that hunts in the dark and enjoys every second of it.”
The worldbuilding leans heavily into demons, ancient secrets, and a past that no one fully understands yet, which keeps the tension running underneath everything.
“I know every spark, every lie you whisper to yourself in the mirror, and every secret you try to burn away.”
And the ending was absolutely unhinged in the best way. It ramps everything up and makes book two feel essential immediately.

I loved being part of the ARC team, thank you T. Isara for the opportunity! This was my first ARC experience and it couldn’t have been a better one 😊
The story started off at a slower pace, but it immediately pulled me in with its mystery and intrigue. Once the pieces (or some at least) started falling into place, I was completely hooked 😁
It’s incredible how much happened in this first book already. I can’t wait for book 2! (And of course I’m also looking forward to Vicious Circle)

I really needed a book that promised everything I was looking for, and this book delivered ALL of it! I wanted romantasy, spice, and a captivating storyline and this fulfilled those needs and then some.
I love how the story follows the sisters known as the Flames. Each sister is like a puzzle piece that belongs perfectly with the others, but when one of those pieces goes missing, everything changes. I was completely hooked by the way their stories intertwine and the mystery surrounding what happened.
I absolutely loved our FMC, Zythera. She’s fierce, strong, and really comes into her own as the story progresses. She goes through some seriously traumatic events that unleash something powerful within her, and from that point on, she wants one thing, revenge. I felt like she was constantly getting the short end of the stick, so I was genuinely happy when she found Serik. That happiness quickly changed once I learned more about who he really was and how he treated her when she was at her lowest.
And then we have our Shadow Prince… I knew I was going to love him. I will always have a weakness for an MMC with shadow magic, it’s dark, powerful, and completely all consuming. He’s broody, harsh, and mysterious, but the bond between him and Zythera is undeniable. And can we talk about the dream walking?! I LOVE when characters can enter each other’s dreams, and let me tell you… the dreams they walked into were definitely my kind of dreams.
I am SO invested in this story, and I’m already dying to find out what happens next! I need the next book immediately.

First things first: so thankful I got to read this book as part of The Aelythium Circle ARC team!
This was such a fun, exhilarating read. Lots of mystery and intrigue from the start, slowly picking up pace along the way until you’re unable to stop reading.
Never knowing who to trust or where the story will take you, this story never bores, never gets predictable.
Dubious love interests, magical creatures and so much FIRE! This book was hot in more ways than one. Great world building and characters and an ending that felt more like a beginning: with so much yet to uncover, I cannot wait for book 2 in this series.

I very much appreciate the opportunity to read this as an ARC. I am leaving this review in my honest opinion.
DNF at 44%. The premise of this book is very interesting, and has some great potential. The story just seemed to lag for me, after a bit. There were little answers and more nonsense journeys? Also, the foundation of each of the girls’ past is quite murky. Where are everyone’s families? Why are they all in one court to begin with?
I really liked the triangle, but I feel like there needed to be more details about Zhaen.
I really like the unique concept of this book, so I think I might give this another try at a different time.

Verbannen naar de mensenwereld,beroofd van al haar herinneringen,heeft Zythera 21 jaar geleefd zonder te weten wie ze werkelijk is.
Maar vlak voor haar 21e verjaardag ontwaken haar krachten. En wanneer de klok middernacht slaat,ontwaakt Zy samen met haar zussen.
Eén zus blijft echter spoorloos verdwenen.
Om haar te vinden, moeten de zussen terugkeren naar het magische rijk dat ze ooit hun thuis noemden.
Daar trekt Zythera onmiddellijk de aandacht van de Schaduwprins. Zijn interesse in haar is allesbehalve onschuldig.
Terwijl demonen uit oprijzen en de verleiding steeds gevaarlijker wordt,raakt Zy verstrikt in een wereld waar vertrouwen dodelijk is en verlangen even fel brandt als verraad.

De proloog begint alvast heel spannend,met verbroken zusterbanden,verraad en verbanning.
Van in het begin voel je een bedreigende en beklemmende sfeer en de spanning neemt alleen maar toe en sleurt je mee.
De opbouw van de wereld Aelythium is heel mooi uitgewerkt en voor de lezer makkelijk te volgen. De schrijfstijl voelt aangenaam en beeldend,het is alsof je samen met Zythera en Mireya mee door die prachtige hoven loopt,de setting is heel prachtig, ik zat er helemaal in.
Mythische wezens zoals draken en feniksen maken de wereld Aelythium helemaal af, alsook de personages,die zijn heel goed neergezet,hun karakter,persoonlijkheid,hun krachten en eigen verhaal komen goed in beeld maar het leukste om te volgen is natuurlijk de forced proximity tussen Zhaen & Zy, hij is de vijand,maar met haar verbonden met een pulse. Die aantrekking is 👌🌶
Het einde is heel erg spannend, je voelt ook dat er nog veel zit te broeien en dat deel 2 zal beginnen met een knal! Ik kijk heel erg uit naar het volgende deel Crowne of Thirst dat uitkomt in februari.

Dit boek is het debuut van auteur T. Isara en ook direct het eerste boek van De Aelythium saga. Het boek is uitgebracht in het Engels en sinds 20 juli ook in het Nederlands. Het is een Dark Romantasy die gaat over 4 zussen die niet verbonden zijn door bloed, maar door magie. Ze waren voorbestemd om Aelythium te beschermen. Tot verraad hun band verscheurde. Zonder die band wacht het rijk een onvermijdelijke ondergang.
Direct in de proloog begint het al spannend. Het geeft direct aan in wat voor hoog tempo het boek gaat en ook een inzicht in het verhaal. Ik hou wel van high pace boeken, ik vind zelf altijd dat dat er echt voor zorgt dat je in het verhaal wordt gehouden.
De schrijfstijl is vlot en echt van deze tijd. Het begin speelt zich af in de echte wereld en later speelt het zich volledig is Aelythium af. Je lees niet vaak fantasy in de echte wereld en dit vind ik wel heel erg leuk. Dit voegt het echt samen met de echte wereld.
De meeste hoofdstukken zijn kort, waar ik van houd. Af en toe een langere ertussen, vooral op spannende momenten. Dit zorgt er bij mij altijd voor dat ik nog een hoofdstuk lees, omdat ze toch maar kort zijn.
Af en toe had ik het gevoel dat het ook een beetje neigt naar horror. Dit komt denk ik omdat ik nog nooit een horrorboek heb gelezen en het af en toe echt heel dark is. Heel anders dan de andere dark fantasy’s die ik al gelezen heb. Heel vernieuwend.
Ik mis wel af en toe wat details. Dan is er iets gebeurd, maar wordt dit niet heel duidelijk weergegeven. Soms is het dus net of er een zin tussenuit is geknipt. Ik begrijp het dan prima, maar ik zou zelf hier iets meer details wel fijn vinden.
Kort samengevat: Soms is de spanning om te snijden en tollen je emoties alle kanten op. Ik heb me gespannen gevoelt, blij, verdrietig, verward, boos. ALLES! Ik hou ervan.

Hated But Loved That I Started...
I absolutely loved this story and all the connections formed between the characters, even the ones you love to hate. I hated that I started the story for the sole fact that I want more of it and I have to wait 😩.
There is so much secrecy in this book along with betrayals and hidden agendas. Most of the book is proving the old saying: "trust nothing you hear and half of what you see" when it comes to Zy's life and that of her fallen court.
The bond between "The Flames" (Zythera, Nyxara, Mireya, and Kaia) from the start of the book is strong yet strenuous all because trust appears to be broken and feelings can't becontrolled. This leads to their lives being rewritten, but nothing stays hidden forever. Year 21 is the key that unlocks their memory and ends the world as they thought they knew it.
From there on out there is action, small revelations, hot and steamy time, along with a chemistry that is off the charts between Zy and the prince of Shadows, Zhaen.
[Side note: Zhaen himself has secrets that drive him and although one was revealed I believe there is still a lot left to unpack. I so can't wait until that point comes because I have loved his character since first intro on page, although I probably shouldn't have 😅.
But he is so good at being hated and I am here for it.]
With all this going on and two devastating heartbreaks Zy finally is pushed to the brinks and decides to take things into her own hands. Turning into who she needs to be in order to achieve her goals. We are left with her beginning to claim everything that belongs to her and I can't wait to see how everything unfolds in the next book now that old Zy has been buried.
In short: READ THIS BOOK!! You won't be disappointed

Crimson Unleashed completely pulled me in from the very first chapter. The pacing was fantastic, balancing mystery, action, and intrigue in a way that kept me saying, “just one more chapter” long past when I should have gone to sleep.
I loved following Zythera as her ordinary life unraveled and hidden truths about her past, her powers, and the Fire Court began to surface. Her journey of self-discovery was one of my favorite parts of the book, and each new revelation only made me more invested in what was happening.
The world-building is rich with ancient secrets, demons, magical creatures, and political tension, creating an atmosphere that feels both immersive and unpredictable. I especially enjoyed the sisterhood dynamic, which gave the story a strong emotional core amidst all the chaos.
The romance added another layer of tension, I was never quite sure where things were heading, which made every interaction even more compelling.
And that ending? Absolutely wild in the best possible way. It answers just enough questions to satisfy while opening the door to even bigger mysteries ahead. Crimson Unleashed is definitely worth picking up. I can’t wait to see where the series goes next! 🔥✨📚🖤

I loved following Zythera as her ordinary life unraveled and hidden truths about her past, her powers, and the Fire Court began to surface. Her journey of self-discovery was one of my favorite parts of the book, and each new revelation only made me more invested in what was happening.
The world-building is rich with ancient secrets, demons, magical creatures, and political tension, creating an atmosphere that feels both immersive and unpredictable. I especially enjoyed the sisterhood dynamic, which gave the story a strong emotional core amidst all the chaos.
The romance added another layer of tension, I was never quite sure where things were heading, which made every interaction even more compelling.
And that ending? Absolutely wild in the best possible way. It answers just enough questions to satisfy while opening the door to even bigger mysteries ahead. Crimson Unleashed is definitely worth picking up. I can’t wait to see where the series goes next! 🔥✨📚🖤

Ook de andere zussen hebben ieder hun eigen persoonlijkheid, waardoor ze niet aanvoelen als opvulling. En de bijpersonages? Ook die zijn goed neergezet en geven het verhaal extra diepgang.

First of all, thank you to T. Isara for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader on this one!
This book hooked me from the very beginning. You’re given just enough information to be desperate for more! The main character is a badass that stays a badass while also growing and changing as a woman?!?! HELLO?!?! There were so many surprises and twists that I had to stay on my toes the entire time. Not to mention the world of Aelythium is painted in gorgeous, evocative prose. I’d catch myself sighing when I looked up to find myself on my couch after existing in such a lush world.
Now, for the romance. The tension could be cut with a knife and served for dessert. You get hit with the heat right from the start, and it does NOT let up. The spice is next level!!! I genuinely don’t know how I’m going to survive waiting for the next book.

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. This was my first ARC ever and I’m so glad to have read this book!
I did find the beginning of this book to start a little slow but by 20% in that completely changed and I became really invested. I absolutely loved Zy, the FMC, and she had a ton of development from beginning to end. You never really knew who was going to betray Zy and get betrayed she certainly does. The fast pace and twists kept me up way too late many nights, but I wouldn’t want it any other way.
I’m always impressed when an author can invoke emotions from readers. For example, with Serik, I went from being skeptical over his insta lust to liking him to being disappointed in him to hating him, which was a wild ride. This was probably the best love triangle I’ve read in a book in a long time, maybe ever. This is because it wasn’t drawn out way too long, which often happens. There was a moment where I liked both guys, which I appreciate, and then it became clear exactly who Zy should be with in my opinion lol!
Every interaction between Zythera and Zhaen had me on the edge of my seat!! I love them! I kept hoping he would pop up and come back. Their chemistry was off the charts and we were left with so much mystery around him and what’s going on with him. I want to know more!!!
I found the dynamic of the sisters to be really unique and engaging with their different types of magic. I’m so sad about N but maybe she will come back somehow later on 🥲.
Overall I definitely recommend this book. Interesting world building and magic, loved the many compelling characters, excellent spice. I want to say bravo to the author! Thank you kindly for this ARC opportunity. I can’t wait for the next book!

This book is a very good read, it is slow paced in the beginning but definitely not boring there is so much mystery, so much is happening but it’s also not really predictable which is lovely 🖤it really goes into details & to me details are extremely important when it comes to a book ❤️🔥

The FMC is literally normal mortal but little did she know she was anything but that! The romance was good, a little crazy , there’s parts where it like girl not him plssss but who doesn’t love chaos.

This book drew me in quickly and kept me invested with its twists, action, and magical world. There were a few points where I felt a bit lost, but the more I read, the more everything clicked into place.
There is something for every fantasy fan here: fae, demons, epic fights, mystery, spice, and an absolutely adorable phoenix. If those elements are your thing, you'll likely have a great time with this one.

Just wow!
I absolutely love this book!!
The first thing I thought when I started reading was,
"This isn't just another Fae story,"
and I still felt that way by the end!
It’s not like all those other predictable Fae stories.
Questions keep arising, and the answers are never what you expected.
It’s an emotional rollercoaster, and I was right in the middle of it!
From laughing while reading
to a broken heart
and even shedding a tear!
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy and wants something different from the usual stuff.

The fact that Mireya is part of the characters was pretty cool to find out. Its close to my name. Anyways 😆 so far I like that its 4 sisters each owning a power of fire water teleportation and shifting. Making them powerful enough to stop the shadow prince, which OMG the chemistry between Zhaen and Zythera. Im not liking Serik at first yes but now im not so sure. I KNEW IT!!!! SERIK YOU JERK! Zhaen was always meant to be hers. Wtf, the end????

The story follows four sisters, bound by powerful magic, who are punished by having their lives rewritten.
When the FMC, Zythera, turns 21, her memories suddenly return, setting her on a journey with her sisters Mireya and Kaia to find their missing sister, Nyxara. What starts as a quest quickly turns into something much bigger, filled with ancient secrets, forgotten history, heartbreaking betrayals, emotional damage ans impossible choices.
The chemistry between Zythera and the Shadow Prince, Zhaen, was absolutely incredible. Every interaction had me wondering whether they were enemies, reluctant allies or something far more dangerous. The tension was so well done and I already need more of them.
I loved how the world slowly unfolded without revealing all its secrets at once. Every answer seemed to uncover even more questions, making it impossible to stop reading. The emotional moments hit hard and by the time I reached the final pages, I was desperate to know what will happen next.
The end doesn't wrap everything up, it feels like the beginning of something much bigger.

I absolutely loved this dark romantasy by T. Isara – it just really hit the spot! It’s the first book in the Aelythium Saga and was everything I love about this genre – a badass FMC along with a seriously HOT dark, villainous MMC, a prophecy written of legend, creatures of old and a fated bond, a sisterhood connected by magic, and throw in betrayals and suspense, and enough unanswered questions to keep you turning pages with furious intent.
We start in the human world – that got my attention because wasn’t this a romantasy? I loved that contrast. Then due to a particular event, our FMC ends up in Aelythium – a fantastical realm of magical courts divided (or obscured) by an encroaching darkness. Who is an ally? Who is an enemy? Visible or hidden in plain sight? Who is going to fight to save the realm? T. Isara keeps you guessing and not trusting anyone, travelling metaphorically deeper into this realm as the story progresses.
I can’t write this review without a specific mention of our MMC, Zhaen – he’s the dark, villainous type with an infuriating smirk 😏 yet there’s so much more to him than meets the eye. The author reveals just enough to keep us emotionally invested in his character arc and falling for him! The smouldering chemistry between him and Zythera was through the roof along with some teasing HOT spice that wasn’t quite cemented in reality - IYKYK. A slow-burn building up in its intensity done right – I’m so DAMN impatient for more to go down between these two!
In addition, T. Isara wrote the most amazing poetic epigraphs at the start of each chapter … that’s the cherry on top for me, that extra finesse. I love when authors go that extra mile as it really lands and makes for a more emotionally immersive read. These provided a sprinkling of foretelling with each chapter – driving the suspense, intrigue, and seamless unfolding of a dark romantasy written well.
And then that ending – HOLY HELL – what a gut punch! It so landed and hard – revealing the epic significance of the book’s title which I’d been questioning a lot. I went to turn the page and what? The end. Done and dusted. WOW – I don’t think I’ve read a book quite like this one! And I am so wanting book 2 – like RIGHT NOW!

Unsure of what to read next? Let me help you. This, immediately, without doubt, don’t sleep on it, just do it. What do I even do with myself now until the next installment releases? I fear anything immediately following this will pale significantly in comparison, the book hangover is real, just left me tapping the screen incessantly willing more of the story into existence. There aren’t enough stars to adequately rate this book, and I knew that would be the case by the time I finished the prologue. The story blasted off like a cannon and never stopped, never even slowed, building to a climax that had my kindle welded to my hand and eyeballs inches from the screen.
Elemental, shadow, and portal magic. Prophecy. Chosen one. Mythical creatures. Sister bonds. Lustful spice, delicious, 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. ENEMIES to maybe lovers?…whatever it is the tension is tensioning and I’m literally aching to know what happens next. I have too many questions T!! I’m going to go insane! But this story will be lounging comfortably rent free in my mind, on plush sofas with fuzzy blankets being fed chocolate and told she’s pretty, forever. And I’m recommending it to all of my fantasy reader friends.
I love the massive growth in this story, Zythera is a force to be reckoned with, and when memories of her fae life slam back after 21 years, the hunt to reunite her sister bond by finding the one that is lost slowly leads her to discovering things about herself kept locked away her entire life. Dark forces are slowly and violently taking over the realm of Aelythium, controlling the shadows and sacrificing innocents to an entity of untold power, attempting to unleash it unsuccessfully for years. But Zythera’s blood could be the missing piece of that puzzle. And so the hunt begins. The girl at the beginning of the story is not the same as the one at the end. By a long shot. And it’s magnificent, like I swear I can feel the power radiating from the book in my hands. And it’s so DARK! But, in like a lush and atmospheric, but still twisted, way. So twisted. Loved it. Infinity stars.

But this story will be lounging comfortably rent free in my mind, on plush sofas with fuzzy blankets being fed chocolate and told she’s pretty, forever. And I’m recommending it to all of my fantasy reader friends.
I love the massive growth in this story, Zythera is a force to be reckoned with, and when memories of her fae life slam back after 21 years, the hunt to reunite her sister bond by finding the one that is lost slowly leads her to discovering things about herself kept locked away her entire life. Dark forces are slowly and violently taking over the realm of Aelythium, controlling the shadows and sacrificing innocents to an entity of untold power, attempting to unleash it unsuccessfully for years. But Zythera’s blood could be the missing piece of that puzzle. And so the hunt begins. The girl at the beginning of the story is not the same as the one at the end. By a long shot. And it’s magnificent, like I swear I can feel the power radiating from the book in my hands. And it’s so DARK! But, in like a lush and atmospheric, but still twisted, way. So twisted. Loved it. Infinity stars.

Crimson Unleashed is a dark romantasy filled with elemental magic, warring courts, ancient prophecy, betrayal, morally grey characters and a romance that becomes increasingly tangled in everything happening around them.
We follow Zythera, who begins the story believing she’s living a relatively normal life until increasingly strange things start happening - including fire appearing around her and mysterious runes appearing on her skin. She soon discovers that there is far more to her identity and her past than she ever realised.
I really enjoyed the concept of the different courts and powers, particularly as more of Zythera’s history and connection to her sisters began to unravel. There are so many secrets surrounding what happened in the past, who can actually be trusted and what Zythera herself is capable of.
The romance with Zhaen added another layer to the story. He’s a Shadow Prince, so naturally I was immediately suspicious AND interested! Their connection is intense and complicated, and I liked watching their dynamic develop alongside Zythera trying to understand everything happening to her.
This definitely leans into the darker side of romantasy. There are some brutal scenes and themes throughout, including violence, sacrifice and morally questionable choices, so I’d recommend checking the content warnings before going in.
There is quite a lot of worldbuilding, characters and lore introduced throughout the book, and at times I did find myself having to keep track of everything. However, I really enjoyed the darker direction the story took as it progressed.
The ending in particular completely changes the tone of Zythera’s character and leaves a LOT open for the next book.
Overall, an enjoyable start to a dark fantasy romance series with elemental powers, court politics, prophecy, secrets, morally grey characters and plenty of spice.

Zythera finding out her whole life basically isnt what she thought it was had me invested straight away. she’s been living in the human world with no memories of Aelythium and then right before she turns 21 everything starts coming back and she finds out she’s part of this magical bond with three other girls. I really liked the sisterhood side of it bc their bond is such a big part of the story but it’s also messy af. something happened between them before they were exiled, one of them is missing and there’s so much trust issues and stuff they still don’t fully understand.
the mystery around Zytheras bloodline and the Fire Court was probs one of my fav parts aswell bc there’s always another lil thing being revealed. I never felt like I had the whole picture and I liked that because it kept me wanting to know what actually happened. and thennnn Zhaen 😭 the shadow prince. I liked the tension between him and Zythera because she knows hes dangerous and there’s still this attraction between them anyway their scenes definitely kept things interesting.

Crimson Unleashed completely swept me up — the kind of romantasy that ticks every single box I’m looking for. I was hooked from the first chapter and genuinely found myself thinking about the story even when I couldn’t be reading.This book feels like it has everything: a strong sister bond, an awesome FMC I immediately rooted for, a brooding MMC with layers, and a romance that brings the spice without overshadowing the plot. The writing kept me guessing in the best way — every time I thought I knew what was coming, the story shifted just enough to keep me on my toes.
There were a few moments (especially around Luna’s arc) that felt quicker than expected, but as the story unfolded I could see how that tied into the bigger picture. And that ending… it didn’t break me emotionally, but it absolutely left me wanting more. It ends right as things get really juicy, and now I’m stuck waiting for book two — which feels mildly cruel in the best ARC‑reader way.
As a busy mum, I really appreciated the chapter lengths. They’re short, tight, and easy to squeeze into pockets of time. I’m fairly sure none were over the 20‑minute mark, which made this such an accessible and bingeable read.
Overall, Crimson Unleashed is a fantastic romantasy with a bit of everything: magic, tension, family bonds, romance, mystery, and characters you can’t help but care about. Highly recommend to anyone who loves the genre.
