She ran from a false prophet … straight into the arms of the bounty hunter hired to drag her back.
Delilah James has known only one kind of faith, fear dressed as righteousness. Raised under the rule of a powerful preacher whose sermons hide cruelty and control, she finally escapes with nothing but her life and a truth that could burn his empire to the ground. Wounded, hunted, and running out of time, Delilah knows one thing for if they catch her, she will not survive it twice.
Josiah Boone has spent his life hunting the guilty. So when a church sets a bounty for the capture of a dangerous young woman, he takes the job like any other. But the trail doesn't lead to a killer. It leads to a girl beaten nearly to death, and a story that doesn't sit right with a man who knows the difference between justice and something far darker.
Delilah never expected the bounty hunter sent to drag her back to be the first man who ever truly saw her. Josiah never expected a runaway preacher's daughter to make him question every job he's ever taken. But the men who want her silenced are closing in fast, and the past she fled is unraveling around them both.
Can a hardened bounty hunter and a broken preacher's daughter find faith, healing, and a love forged in fire, or will the man behind the pulpit destroy them before the truth ever sees the light?

I was confused in several parts where things are described one way, like Josiah and Delilah standing in each others arms, and the next sentence they're reaching for each other. Delilah untucks her shirt(needs medical attention), and next thing is Josiah covering her legs for modesty. ?? He was tending her back, her skirt never came off, why cover her already covered legs? And for "modesty?" I think this story would be a lot better with proofreading, and some more details about how you go from holding someone to needing to reach out pull them close to kiss them. I have questioned if AI was used in writing this.
I wanted to loves this, but there's a lot of grammar and continuity errors. Characters that had so much potential just felt flat. I probably won't continue with the series.
I could not put this book down. I started it late one day and finished it the following morning.
This book had no wasted scenes and no wasted words. It is powerful.
This book, “ The Serpent and the Savior” is an excellent book. It is a book about good versus evil when the evil masks itself as good and righteous.
I could sense the connection Josiah had with Delilah from the moment he saw her. I felt the sweet tenderness he felt towards her, yet he never had his head out of the game.
The ending is so perfect. So beautifully written.
I love the Boone family and can’t wait to read this whole series. Highly recommend
From the beginning of this book to the very end, it stirred up memories I would rather forget. Josiah and Delilah are two who were actually an answer to each other’s prayers. With the help of the Boone family they made a formidable barrier. I always love stories about families sharing love and devotion for each other. This was an action packed read done with the calm that came from knowing that if God be for them, who could be against them. A worthy read, I highly recommend reading this book
I really wanted to like this book... but I did not. The characters were underdeveloped for me. I felt like we were going along in the story and then they just fell in love. There was no build up, just "hey I found you, so now I am in love with you. Will you marry me?" Just a little more spread out. Also, the death (and the way she died) of the sister was just too much for me. I think the author should consider putting trigger warnings at the start of her books. Overall, I really wanted to like it, but between all of this and the grammar errors, it just fell short.

I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. For the most part, I enjoyed the writing. However, the author uses a lot of negative descriptors, for instance, "he had a look that wasn't really a smile" or "he did *this thing*, not because he felt *this way*, not because he felt *that way*, but because *something else*." Overuse of negative descriptors got a little annoying. Also, the editing left a lot to be desired, with misspelled words and incomplete sentences, and incongruity in the character's actions. With better editing, I would have given it five stars.
I was in awe the way Ms. Landed described the characters, the land, the feelings, the Evil, the Good, everything in this book! I felt as if I was there with them! This author has a way with words that is unrivaled. I started to pass on this book, until I read the first paragraph! She described perfectly just what God can do in your life if you will let him! I would give this book 50 stars if I could!
I enjoyed the book! Josiah was a bounty hunter that went searching for a woman that was want for murder and robbery but she was not what he expected. This book starts out with drama and there is drama throughout the book. You won’t want to put it down. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series! I highly recommend reading this book!
A beatiful love strory. The satanic power of men who believed themselves invincible, yet so destructive, hurting all around them, being brought to their knees, and the despirate race for the heroine. For her saviour careing for her as they are persued. So many emotions are woven through the narrative that you feel you are living them too.
This author is new to me. I generally don't read old western stories but decided I would read it and see if I liked it or not. I was not disappointed! I absolutely loved it!. It was so suspenseful and intriguing and best of all God was the center of this story. I'm going to read the next book in this series! Absolutely love this author!
I could put the story down! Wonderful! Touching! Thank you!
This book kept me reading till late at night! I had to see that Abram got his due at the end! Crazy danged man had to be taken out! He was evil through and through!
No f-words, no detail sex just s solid story with great characters. First book by this author that I have read and I'm hooked! Can't wait to checkout author other books. Highly recommend.
This book kept me reading longer than I have in a long time. It was never boring, always quick adventure, I would recommend it to all who like good clean love stories
This is a reread and I ordered the next book about the Outlaw. It didn't come to me. But I may have borrowed the right amount. I could not tilt the book into unlimited.
Delilah has really never had a reason to trust God or men. Josiah is a man of honor and trustworthy because of his faith in God. Together, both are tested and this story tells of that test and God's loving faithfulness.
The characters in the book are a wonderful blend of western gruff cowboys, bounty hunter and the women who tame them. The story is as frightening as it is suspenseful. The images are awesome and kept me reading without putting the book down.
One of the BEST books I have read in quite some time. Extremely well written. Kept the suspense going till the very end. I will be looking for the next one soon
I saw a video online from this author I think, and really liked the graphics and intro. I enjoy reading historical fiction, so I decided to give this one a try since the blurb sounded so good. What I didn’t realize at first was, that this is a historical Christian fiction, which I usually don’t want to read but from the very first page, I was hooked. This was such a beautiful story. I am definitely continuing this series.
