Our rabbi wants to personally instruct us in the ancient and fascinating adventure of prayer. Join us on a journey to encounter the prayer leader of heaven and learn how to pray with Him. I picked this book up at a Seedbed Conference this spring (2026) and was eager to read it.

It is not difficult reading, and it is a relatively short book (162 pp). What makes it unique, at least to my mind, anyway, is that the author is an evangelical pastor in San Francisco. That in and of itself made this book worth paying attention to! His heart (and even more - the LORD'S heart) for his city comes through palpably.

Secondly, the thrust of the book is centered on the Beatittudes. It is true that a lot of books and teachings do this, but honestly, while he doesn't say anything that is new, his presentation is new. I found myself more and more interested the deeper I got into that section of the book.

So, all in all, I found this book to be engaging, and I hope to hear more from him in the future. Beyond that, it is my prayer that he and those that pray with him (there are 30 other pastors that have banded with him across the Bay Area) will one day soon share that the Holy Spirit has changed San Francisco, to the glory of Jesus's Name.
