WELCOME TO THE STAGE. THE TEASER! THE PLEASER! JACK HAMMMER!

Blaine Wesley
I’m the Jack Hammer. Exotic dancer extraordinaire. The teaser and the pleaser—the paid for penis for play. I have to be all these things to survive. It’s who I became when I lost her. But now she’s back, and I can’t decide who I want to be more. The Jack Hammer or Blaine Wesley. All I know is she’s foreplay at its finest, and it’s my job to get them wet and ready.

Chelsey Ford
Liar. That’s what I called him when he walked out of my life. Losing your first love will turn you into someone bitter. Hateful. Angry. But now he’s back, and he’s determined to torture me. The only problem is, I’m enjoying his form of torture too much. And the hatred for him that holds me together is slowly starting to dissolve.

”You put me through hell because you assumed something.”

description

This story does in fact start out very promising as our main character is faced with her first love and his private’s up close and personal at a strip club.

”The teaser! The Pleaser! Jack! Hammer!”

The prologue was exciting but to my disappointment in chapter one we are sent back to high school where the couple meets- the rich smart girl and poor hot manwhore (she drops her bag and the hot bad boy helps her pick up her papers…ugh). They have an assortment of misunderstandings with the most damaging one that separates them for a year. The couple’s miscommunications just didn’t’ work for me.

Finally at the fifty percent mark we are back in the present at The Golden Banana strip club (really that’s the name?) where they still go around and around with hate/love thing and all of sudden he is everywhere she is by coincidence… ”He. Was. Everywhere!”

Overall, I loved the sound of this book and even though I didn’t think we were heading back to high school for half the story I didn’t mind it. The misunderstandings and failure to ever really talk to one another even in the present annoyed me.

To my disappointment, the scenes at the club weren’t even hot apart from the prologue. The present was just as irritating as the past since these two haven’t grown that much in a year. I felt that this book had a lot of scenes that needed to be taken out like . A little sister scene would have been nice or a grandma scene? However, I did like the characters just wished scenes and direction were different.

*My copy does state that the story is currently going through a final round of edits and perhaps things will be different in final copy*

OK It's official. I love douche-bag boyfriends. I am not sure what I was expecting from this book, but I got more than I bargained for and I'm not going to lie, it was a guilty pleasure that I devoured from start to finish.

The prologue starts in the present, where Blaine is a male stripper working at the Golden Banana club and shaking his thang in a mortified and shocked Chelsey's face. We are then immediately transported back to where it all began - at High School.

Blaine Wesley is from the other side of town where the not so well to do live, but he attends school with a lot of the rich kids, one of them being Chelsey Ford.

Blaine is a bit of a bad boy, he drinks, smokes weed and doesn't necessarily follow the rules, but he comes from a loving family and his parents and baby sister Maddie will always be a priority.

Chelsey is a smart girl whose life dream is to attend Colombia University and her whole focus is on achieving that. She doesn't really socialise and has only one close friend.

They soon realise that they may be completely different on the outside, but their souls are meant to be together and despite the disapproval from Chelsey's parents, she is not giving up her bad boy anytime soon.

As tragedy and misunderstandings occur, life takes an unexpected turn which forces Blaine to believe that he'll never be good enough for a girl like Chelsey and he flees to New York where he ends up stripping and having sex with women for cash.
_ _ _ _

Chelsey was a relatively easy character to like, she wasn't a complete doormat and she may have been a bit of a studyaholic, but she had a bit of a wild streak in her bursting to get out.

Blaine on the other hand was a wild card, he often said nasty things as a defence mechanism and could be a bit of a shithead at times. The whole misunderstanding that caused him to leave town, was a bit dramatic but I forgive him simply because he was suffering from post traumatic stress or something, either that or an extreme case of male pride.

I would have loved more scenes between his sister and the main couple, that would have propelled the emotional level up a notch and maybe we would have seen more of his softer side.

I was a bit disappointed .

I really liked it, and if you don't mind a bit of drama or an assface book hero, then it may appeal to you. I am a fan of badboy/goodgirl so for me this was a winner.

ARC gratefully received from the author in exchange for an honest review

I did find this heartbreakin in part I felt so sorry 4 them they have been through so much I want 2 hug them so tight an make it better

This book was really good an I enjoyed it so much Blaine was hot in the beginning but seein him as Jack Hammer OMG he was so hot I mine smoking hot I would luvd 2 of seen him work them hips magic mike as nothing on this guy

Blaine Wesley(aka Jack Hammer): the resident bad boy meets Chelsey Ford: the spoiled rich girl and the relationship is off the charts.

I don't read NA (I think that's what most of this book was), and now I am asking myself WHY??!!

This book takes us through the full relationship of Blaine and Chelsey. It starts when they first meet in high school and really goes through their whole story. I was shocked at how this book sucked me in. I loved Cheley's innocence and how Blaine reacted to her. How they grew together and when things go wrong, and they do..... when it comes back around the love it all right there.

When you get to where Blaine and Chelsey are adults, the NA leaves and you get some really hot stuff! I am truly impressed, this book gave me the feels. That's pretty hard to do.

I highly recommend this book. It was totally out of my comfort zone and I'm so damn glad I took the chance! LOVED!

The reason this book didn't work for me? Two words...

HIGHSCHOOL. DRAMA.

I was expecting a lot of this....

What did I get instead?

If I wanted to read a book about highschool teens, I would have picked one. Instead, I wanted to read a stripper book. I didn't get what I wanted. The prologue (which was a page) suggested that I did find my stripper book. Only for chapter 1 to come about and....no strippers. It went back to the past to tell of when they were in school, whereupon, it proceeded like that through 60% of the book. By then I had completely lost interest in the story and the book. I didn't care what happened after that. There was also the fact of how he was portrayed in highschool, how he was/his personality....it just didn't fit with him becoming a "stripper". I don't know, it was kind of weird in my opinion, can't explain it. So, the leap from highschool kid to one year later...just did not fit. And why only one year? That is strange in and of itself, you would think there would have been a bigger time jump. But, oh well. When it finally did come back to the present, the stripping was more of a way, way background thing. It seemed to focus more on him being a prostitute than on him being a stripper........Yeah, let that sink in. Can you explain that to me? Then the stripping parts?!?

Majorly disappointed with this one...

Jack Hammer is a NA romance with a poor, bad boy, man-ho hero, and a rich, plain-jane, virgin heroine.

Yes. Jack Hammer is nothing new, it feels like a bunch of NA books melded together.

Buuuut, it was still pretty enjoyable. The drama level was high, our asshole hero is sweet, sensitive and vulnerable as well as able to give out biting words and be incredibly possessive. He was able to pull at my heartstrings. The heroine had a heart of gold and a touch of feisty.

I ended up taking off half a star in 'part 2', I wasn't so keen on the extra-curricular activities of our hero, and I also thought the pile on of drama our characters endured was a little much. It also felt like it needed a much better ending, as soon as things were resolved, it ended, instantly. Even though there's an epilogue, it felt like it needed more healing time.

SOME SPOILERS INCLUDED
This book wasn't quite what I was expecting. It's a story in two parts, in fact the first part overtakes most of this. I thought I was getting a male stripper story, instead most of it was set in high school. Chelsey and Blaine have a history, she was the good girl in school while he was the bad boy but they had something together till it all ended very badly and Blaine disappeared. A year later Chelsey is in New York at college and has been persuaded on a night out with friends at a strip club, guess who the star stripper is? Yes it's Blaine, from that moment on the story is totally angst filled, I got why Blaine was stripping he had his reasons, but I felt that calling him a stripper was pushing it a bit, when in IMO he was little more than a male prostitute. Then once Chelsey was back on his radar, I found it a bit much that he was jealous if she even talked to another man, while he was still having sex with other women for money. What was also hard to believe was Chelsey's reaction to discovering what he did in the back rooms of the strip club. It made me laugh how the authors had Chelsey's best friend fall for one of the other strippers and she was totally okay with him having sex with the customers, really! I found that totally unrealistic that these two young women were fine with it.
I like an angsty read, but there was maybe a bit too much in this almost right up to the final page, there were just too many misunderstandings.

I recieved this ARC in exchange for an honest review.I tell it like I see it. This may contain spoilers fair warning. I must disclose that I am a straight woman in love with Tabata Vargo or rather with her writing as I have never met her. She has written some of my all time favorite books like "On the Plus Side", "Little Black Book", and "Finding Faith". So I had high hopes for Jack Hammer and I was not disappointed. The opening scene is a wild one. It grabs your attention. I don't want to spoil it for you but it left my mouth open in surprise. Some might call me prudish but I was like "oh my" and in a good way. I was hooked from the start. It them goes back to how Blaine and Chelsey meet and fell in love and the tragedy that tore them apart. Yes Blaine became a male whore, stripping and sleeping with wealthy women. That was a hard one for me to overlook as I believe in monogomy but he did it for the money to take care of his little sister and sick grandmother. He always loved Chelsey as she loved him. Even when he serviced the other women, he didn't enjoy it. He faked it. It had conflict and misunderstandings as well as tragedies and sacrifice. It had great character development and there was also great sex scenes. I like that this is a stand alone book and that all the issues were resolved and had a satifying HEA ending. If I could add one thing is that I wish Blaine had gotten justice for the brutal beating he took from the 6 frat boys. He just blew if off. I wanted some kind of payback. They should not have walked scott free. Other than that I can honestly say I really enjoyed it and will be putting it in my keeper pile.

5 Stars

If I could possibly give this book more than 5 stars I would. I went in thinking..oh this is going to be a hot, sexy, fun male stripper book.....god was I wrong. It was so much more than I could have imagined.

Chelsey was always the the quite bookworm in high school. She kept her head down and all thoughts on her assignments. Always staying at step ahead of all the other students, she had to keep the perfect grades so she could get into the school of her dreams. Or should I say her parents dreams, Columbia University.

Blaine Wesley is the boy from the other side of the tracks, the bad boy of the school. All the girls in school want him but one, the one girl that seems to be different. One day when he stops to help her with all her books she dropped he finally grabs her attention, but still she looks at him different. When she looks at him he knows she seems more to him. The one and only Chelsy Ford finally took notice of him.

"He reeked of danger and something mysterious-like the pungent odor of the unknown elements my sheltered life was missing."

After Blaine had Chelsey's attention he did everything in his power to hold it. Which wasn't hard because Chelsey was falling hard and fast. Soon both of their thoughts were filled with the next time they would see one another, when would Blaine sneak into Chelsey's room again, or when would Chelsey sneak out of the house to be with him again?

"I told you, I'm a big girl. I don't need you to protect me."
"Maybe not, but you need someone to protect you from me."

Heartbreaking circumstances find there way into Blaine's life and his world is turned upside down. Everyone that he loves is now gone. He leaves behind his Georgia home to move to NYC and take on the role of caregiver. When he leaves he thinks he is doing the right thing by leaving and not looking back....only was he really? In his eyes he had lost everything, even Chelsey.

"I wanted to run after her, but I knew chasing after her was like chasing after the sun. She was impossible to catch and when I got too close, she burned me."

Fast forward a year. Chelsey is now living in NYC and attending Columbia University. Her childhood best friend Lynn comes to town to celebrate Chelsey finally out living her dream. Lynn talks Chelsey into going out and celebrating with a bunch of girls in a bachelorette party. Chelsey finds her self in a male strip club.

"The Teaser! The Pleaser! Jack! Hammer!"

Chelsey finds herself with a man's cock caressing the side of her face, only when she looks up she finds the ice blue eyes she knows and loves staring back at her. Shocked and stunned she is staring at the one and only Blaine. All of the raw emotions that she felt over the year start flooding back.

"Everything was different-the way I saw her was altered. She wasn't just the girl I'd fallen in love with anymore. She was the girl I had broken."

What happens when the love of your life, the one that ripped your heart out without at goodbye resurfaces in your life? How do you deal with all the pain and hurt? How does one deal with all the unanswered questions and secrets you carry?

"His jump to conclusions had caused a domino effect that sent me into a darkness I was still trying to escape."

I know anytime Melissa and Tabatha come together it's going to be pour magic and this book was perfection. Jack Hammer had everything I love angst, 2nd chance love, heart break, lots of hot sex, and last but not least it had feeling. Blaine and Chelsey's relationship made me feel more than I ever expected. I was completely captivated from the very beginning. I found myself bawling my eyes out at one of Chelsey's life changing experiences. Why? Because it has happened to me and Melissa and Tabatha did an AMAZING job getting all of Chelsey's feelings and emotions spot on, so spot on it made old wounds open for me and feel what Chelsey was reliving. I know that this one scene will not affect everyone in the same way but damn it this book made me feel, and I wholeheartedly connected with the characters. When I feel like that it makes for an amazing read in my book.

Phenomenal job Melissa and Tabatha! If I could give Jack Hammer more than 5 stars I would in a heart beat. Thank you for writing another book boyfriend for me to swoon over. <3

Ladies get ready....

Real Rating: 2 stars, but with the amazing cover, I bumped it up one to 3 :)

Jack Hammer was not what I expected. I went into this thinking it would be a Magic Mike type of read and I was ready for it! But before I could even get to the start line, I had to pump my brakes when after a short snippet at the strip club, we get transported to High School!

*record scratch* What the? That's right, Jack Hammer starts out at the club with bumping and grinding, dirty dancing and wait a minute! The characters recognize each other after being apart for some time. Then: "OMG I know you from somewhere!" And whoosh, the backstory kicks in. *sad Julie* Then we are subjected to 53% of the backstory of how the characters met and fell in love.

I totally skim-read this book, waiting to see when were we going back to the club. You know, the reason I picked up this book? If only the author's blurb had warned me about this, I wouldn't be so devastated or confused. But then again, I wouldn't have read it, knowing it featured a High School, NA story. *le sigh*

description

But the cover is amazing (and the only reason I stuck through to the end) so in case you're interested in an NA story featuring a High School How-We-Met backstory, then Jack Hammer's perfect for you.

Chelsey is the rich, good girl/school nerd with a bright future ahead of her at Columbia University. Blaine is the hot guy from the wrong side of the tracks who's into drugs, slacking, and has no clue what his future holds, but knows girls can't keep their hands off him.

When Blaine meets Chelsea, he suddenly wants to change and falls in love with her. But so much tragedy happens that it's hard to keep hope for their young love alive.

Can Blaine and Chelsea make it through despite the insurmountable obstacles in their path? Can they ever have an HEA?

Jack Hammer features:

erotica
oral sex
ANGST
miscarriage
suspense

And the chase is on...
If you could call it that. Chelsey, our heroine is no dummy. It was more of a power walk than a chase. Any woman in their right mind would drop everything for Blaine. Fun, sexy, and a bit on the wild side. He's every high school girl's dream.

The story begins like many others. A sweet romantic read. The sexy heart throb with a heart of gold that will have you swooning from the start.

Then,
The world is flipped upside down...
My jaw literary dropped. By the time I knew what was happening. I couldn't stop reading no matter how much I wanted it to be untrue. I couldn't undo the heartache.

From then on I couldn't turn the pages quick enough!

Fast forward some and Blaine isn't the high school hottie anymore, he's the pantie melting, jaw dropping, scotching hot man of our wet dreams.

Writing a spoiler free review is tough. I want to be siting down with a cup of coffee reliving the oh em gee moments with you. But I can't...

What I can say is, that this is my first book by Tabatha Vargo but I will definitely be clicking more.

While I thoroughly enjoyed Jack Hammer I felt it did drag a bit in the beginning. Or I'd be giving it 5 stars. Not enough to DNF, just a bit of a slow pace. It was your typical romance read.

At 47% it totally picked up and I couldn't read fast enough.

At 77% I think my kindle began to sizzle!

By the end I was looking at the hubby with one eye trying to picture Blaine :D

"What's your name, sweet girl?"

That is all I had to read to know that I would fall in love with Blaine Wesley. Talk about total swoon worthy! I'm happy to say that I am no longer a virgin to Tabatha Vargo and Melissa Andrea's work. They popped that cherry with JACK HAMMER and I was left VERY satisfied! The blurb intrigued me right away. I mean what romance reader doesn't want to read a story focused around a male exotic dancer?! I didn't even have to read the rest of the synopsis to know that I would read this with a smile on my face. What I wasn't betting on, was the tons of tears that would follow. There is a true heart-wrenching story underneath this romance and I gotta say, it gutted me a bit. I had to take short reading breaks, because I was so overwhelmed with sadness or frustration at times. Overall, this story was well written and captivating. It has to be a struggle writing a story with a partner, melding it together to make it seamless. Tabatha and Melissa did a great job at making the story flow perfectly. JACK HAMMER was extremely sexy, emotional, and compelling. The characters were amazing to read about. I loved how they were the exact opposite, but brought out something beautiful in one another, connecting them in a way, where the love would be undeniable. Beautiful, beautiful job ladies!

Blaine Wesley: the resident bad boy
Chelsey Ford: the spoiled rich girl

Well scratch all those presumptions right now because they may look like it on the surface but you get to see very quickly appearances don't mean a thing and these two will pull on your heartstrings and you will root for them.

They share one of those one of a kind love stories that are just epic and rare to come by. Blaine and Chelsey may seem like an unlikely match but they are two puzzle pieces who could not have fitted better together.

The book consists of two main parts:

Prologue
Part one: high school - ends on a rather dramatic / sad note
Part two: enter "Jack Hammer" - One year later
Epilogue

I kind of hate prologues that spoil part of what is going to happen before it actually does and in this case it is indeed a little bit like that but it didn't disturb me as much as it sometimes does with other books.

One thing I can say with a hundred percent certainty is that you won't know what hit you when you have finished this book, I sure didn't expect this feeling. I rarely cry when reading a book but with this one I sure did. There were so many emotions portrayed in this book; it was raw, uncut and overflowing with passion and love.

A recommendation for all of you that love a one of a kind love story that'll stick with you for a long time.

Did I say much? No. I just urge you to not read a thing beforehand and just dive in like I did. I promise you that you won’t regret it and that it’ll make the experience of this book that much better.

I liked this book it was enjoyable but I just couldn't get into the characters. I loved how it was from dual point of view so we could get inside both the minds of the hero and heroine. The writing was spectacular, for being my first book I read by both authors I was somewhat impressed.

The reason why I gave this book 3.5 stars was because my disappointment in the first chapter when it went back to their high school days. Blaine was totally swoon worthy. But it's so hard for me to review this novel because I did skim through parts.

Well unfortunately this didn't work for me. I really wanted it to. That's why I finished it. It had great potential. But it just didn't hit the mark for me. Too much felt incomplete and glossed over. Granted Blaine and Chelsey are only 18-19 years old but there was too much High School drama and miscommunication. I couldn't justify their relationship with the amount of accusations they threw at each other like 70% of the book. I did like Blaine and Chelsey. When they were together, they were cute and loving. And it was adorable. However when the accusations hit, their behavior and just plain immaturity was not cool. Then it ended with a pretty bow tie and I was sitting there thinking uhm how did this happen?!? Well anyways, again I'd say it would've been good if it was more developed.

Chelsea was focused on her studies, no time for anything else, and had Columbus as her goal, when she crossed patchs with the school hunk Blaine.
Total opposites, she´s the studying, rich girl and he´s the poor, partying bad boy, but still they bond and burn bright, til disaster strikes, in more than one way.
Can they find their way back together?
NA, High school/college, smutty fluff, feelings, emotions and angst.
Somehow I thought it was going to be more contemporary than New Adult, my bad, still a good read for NA.

GOD DAMN, THAT WAS A HOT READ!! Just wish Blaine wouldn't have been with other women (cardinally) whilst parted from Chelsey. Believe me his shaking what the Lord gave him for money was sooo ok with me. It was the regulars that I squirmed at call me a true romantic, she didn't make that leap, but he did....even though it was too pay the bills (meh, bills smills. Your goods belonged elsewhere baby, not in anyone else. Just relaying the commandments according to Donna) . That was my only gripe with this uber fab story.

I was surprised with this book, I knew it was a second chance love story but didn't realise the whole of the first book was about Blaine and Chelsey and their relationship in high school. That would normally put me off but the story was incredibly sweet and Blaine was just so damn sexy and cheeky you couldn't help but like him. I was sad at the way it ended but even more sad as I couldn't find the second book to read! Need to know what happens next.

Some parts were very good for me. But some parts (mainly the complete NON communication both past and present) wasn't for me. Also the time jump..... Something about the characters made it feel like it had been 10+yrs but it had only been ONE.
Still a quick hot read and Blaine is YUMMY!
Enjoy!!

I dislike the whole thing, and the cherry on top was the drama only stopped in the LAST page. And, to be a mean soul, I was so disappointed in this book, I loved when he was a jerk to her, saying those hurtful things. And I'm not sorry.

I'm so torn in how I feel about this book. First, I thought it was going to be all super hot sex, but it's half NA, which was actually a nice surprise. I loved a lot of the book, thought some was okay, and didn't like some.

It begins shockingly sexy in a full service male strip club, but immediately goes back to how it all began in high school. I delighted in a good portion of this part. I was seriously thinking 5 stars for much of it. She's the virginal nerdy good girl, and he's the hot bad boy. It's sounds cliché, but it didn't seem that way while reading. She isn't all like oh I wish I was popular and outgoing. She's just focused. She wants to go to an Ivy League college to be a doctor, and she doesn't want high school antics spoiling her plans. He's not the I don't care looser turned good guy either. He actually is a great son and brother. He's just more worried about helping his family than school. She's rich. He's poor. Both have decent family lives and parents.
I wanted to run after her, but I knew chasing after her was like chasing after the sun. She was impossible to catch and when I got close, she burned me.

Issues arise. Fast forward to the current. Bits of this part were ok for me, and sometimes I had difficulty. One thing that would have helped overall with the book in general, in my opinion, is leaving some out. Some of the story isn't needed. I did receive an unfinalized copy that was headed for edits after I think, so much of it could be cleaned up by release time. I don't want to give away spoilers, but I had a problem with the way they treated each other and the misunderstandings. They seemed more mature in high school. Some people like to read those types of dramatics, but I don't, so it may be a nonissue for most people, may just be me.

Concerning Blaine's job, which is how the book got it's name and what I was assuming the entire book would be about, I liked it. Some may have complications with it, but I did not.

As I said before, I loved some parts and disliked others so I'll just average to get an overall rating. I think it will be a favorite for many.

P.S. There is a Blow Hole mention. :D

3/3.5 stars

Stripped is definitely not what I expected at all. From the original cover I was expecting some erotic read with lots of sex and little story. Totally not what I got at all, but I shouldn’t be surprised since I enjoy Tabatha Vargo’s other books a whole lot.

Blaine and Chelsey’s story began in high school. Chelsey is the perfect student, she’s never missed class and she barely has fun. Her parents are strict beyond belief, but that doesn’t bother her, until Blaine. Knocking into his at school one day was all it took for her to begin falling for him. Blaine is the school bad boy who has no idea what he wants out of life, except for Chelsey. Their romance is adorable, new, and completely sexy, but over way too soon. Now years later they meet again and the secrets between them are so dark and painful it’s hard to believe they’ve survived so long.

So wow, first off from the prologue I thought this story was going to be taking place with older more characters, but Stripped took a surprising turn. The book starts from the beginning of their romance and then works to how they ended up where we meet them in the prologue.

I loved how this book was so surprising. I really enjoyed every minute of this book. I enjoyed the characters and felt the story was surprising and refreshing. I loved the realism that misunderstandings can have terrible consequences.

Chelsey has had a sheltered life. Her family is rich beyond belief, but that doesn’t matter to her. She has a best friend who is an amazing source of humor for her. Chelsey definitely develops a lot throughout the story. She learns how to have fun and enjoy life a lot more. Sadly in the future older version of her she has to go through that lesson again, but she has a good reason.

Blaine is an amazing character. I enjoyed his character development just as much as Chelsey’s. Stripped really goes to show how much two people can influence each other. Blaine fell for Chelsey hard and fast, but was a total jerk to her a lot of the time. Sometimes his cruelty had me wanting to cry, but he made up for it. It was mainly just his insecurity and hurt that had him being a douche but like I said I fell for Blaine quick so I was willing to forgive his douchey-ness.

I loved this story a lot. Tabatha Vargo did an amazing job crafting this story and it was so worth the wait. I LOVED the strip club scene and the high school growing romance. Since I’m such a huge fan of YA and NA it felt as if I got both in one story which I have never seen done before.

I would really recommend Stripped to people who enjoy mature NA books with lots of steamy but sweet romance. Be prepared for surprises and amazing writing and characters.

Blaine Wesley and Chelsey Ford, in both high school and currently in adulthood, come from/live in two different worlds.

Blaine's consists of doing what has to be done with the hand he's been given, taking care of his responsibilities by any means necessary. Chelsey's world revolves around plans, goals, and a future that has already been paved for her. They couldn't be more different from each other, but that's exactly why they work because despite Blaine's belief that Chelsey is too good for him and deserves a life better than the one he could ever give her, turning her perfectly planned world upside down is exactly what she needs in order to understand how to truly live...to have fun...to be set free from the control that has surrounded her life.

But when you're dealing with two very diverse people, reality can get in the way, and when a misunderstanding destroys Blaine and Chelsey's happiness, how do they get past the sense of betrayal and heartbreak and find their way back to each other, especially with the new paths that their lives have taken them?

I have to admit the frustration level with this book was at an all time high, but not in a bad way. It's what kept me reading and made me want to reach into the story and shake both Blaine and Chelsey, but especially Blaine. Assumptions and walking away without a full understanding ruined their relationship, sending Chelsey back into her "school/book world" and Blaine into taking a job as an exotic dancer to make ends meet. Neither of them were living but only surviving, and even when they do stumble on each other again, neither of them are honest and hurtful words almost ruin their second chance.

Tabatha Vargo and Melissa Andrea do a fantastic job with making their readers feel every emotion experienced by the main characters; at times, it's almost torture to endure the pain and heartbreak that both Blaine and Chelsey are feeling. It definitely helps that we get Blaine's perspective and are able to understand his choices, even if we don't agree with them. I don't think I would have felt the same way about him towards the end of the text if I didn't have that insight because some of his acts are questionable at best.

Jack Hammer is another great read from the evocative and complex minds of these two authors, and I can't wait to see what they come up with each other next.

I do have to say that I'd go for a teaser and pleaser any day of the week with Jack Hammer!

This book grabbed me from the first paragraph and had me wanting to do nothing but read all weekend. What is funny is we have all read this type of book before - good girl falls for the bad boy. But this time it was a little different. It's different because it's a love story that spans a year to year and a half. And it opens up in the present at a male strip club where Chelsea sees her ex boyfriend for the first time (and in case if it wasn't clear, she sees him as a stripper) and she's completely caught off guard because they never had closure. The book then goes into two parts, the first part is the beginning, as in how they met.

Chelsea is a book worm from a rich family and she falls for the playboy of the school who is from the wrong side of town named Blaine. Surprisingly, Blaine comes from a good home, not a broken one like a lot of heroines. Their beginning was a little rough. He was a handsome guy and got a lot of play with the ladies, if you know what I mean. Chelsea was focused on her education. After Blaine showed interest in her, they began to date. But she couldn't really date because her parents were strict. And you could understand why they were strict, because Chelsea's first date with Blaine ended with them being arrested. But other things happened as well which I won't go into.

Obviously tragedy strikes in a couple different ways and a misunderstanding and pride pulled them apart suddenly. Fast forward to the present, which is part two of this book, and Chelsea seeing Jack Hammer (which is Blaine's stage name) for the first time and them not having closure on exactly what happened causes a lot of tension. And there was a lot of stubbornness and anger there. This book was a little predictable, but I enjoyed it nonetheless because I was invested into the characters. I enjoyed learning how they came to be and how they were now. This story had passion, some rawness, and a sensitive subject that it dealt with, but done very tastefully. It was a great and quick story. 4 stars!

This book was absolutely AMAZING!!! I read it in one sitting because I could not put it down. I was so sucked into the story I had to keep reading to see how things would turn out. I had no idea what to expect when reading this book. After reading the blurb, I thought one thing but the book turned out to be WAY more than I ever expected.

When the book starts we are in the present and Blaine and Chelsey meet up again in a way they never expected. Both are completely shocked and caught off guard. So then we go back into the past to find out how Blaine and Chelsey know each other.

I loved these two together right from the get go. Blaine had me swooning even before Jack Hammer was ever even thought of. A HUGE miss-understanding brings these two apart and that’s where the book takes a HUGE turn… FOR THE GOOD!!

This is where we meet JACK HAMMER!! AHHHHH just when I thought I could not love Blaine anymore I was proven completely wrong. Blaine literally had the pages melting off my kindle. There were so many times I was so sucked into this story I wanted to get up and go grab some singles out of my purse. I highly recommend this book. It was such an amazing story. It will take you on a ride of a lifetime. You will laugh, cry, scream, jump up and down, shake your booty, throw your kindle a few times, but mostly importantly it will make you fall in love!!! Great job ladies I look forward to many many more!!!

Review from Rising Indies United

Oh My God, I have another book boyfriend! This is an awesome read. I couldn't put it down. Thank God that my daughter can make her own sandwich for lunch, because I forgot all about time while reading this. This book made me a horrible mom today!

Chelsey Ford is the good girl. She isn't a rich snob like others at her school. Yes, she's rich, but she isn't a bitch. She has no time for boys. All her time is spent with her nose in her books studying and being the perfect trophy daughter. She wants to go to Columbia and become a doctor. The real Chelsey comes out when she meets Blaine. Things change, for both of them.

Blaine is the hot bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. He has no thoughts, or plans, about his future, but that all changes.

Then tragedy hits, for both of them. But neither know what the other was going through. They part ways, not truly knowing why.

A year later, they find each other again. Things are far from easy for them. Both made mistakes and need to get through the present, and come to terms with the past.

I won't lie, there were parts that had my eyes leaking. But there were also parts that had me laughing. This is definitely a must read!

"I want to be teased and pleased," I said, biting into my lip. I grinned slyly. "Now, strip for me, Jack Hammer."

This book will make you laugh, cry and get angry at some point. These characters were developed very well. We have Chelsey the young girl that is smart, sweet and quiet. She has her life all planned out. Then there is Blaine a young bad boy with a soft heart underneath a tough exterior. It is a push and pull relationship in high school. Then things in life occur and they have to go their separate ways. Move forward and what do you get? Hammered! Jack Hammer teased and pleased. Blaine aka Jack Hammer is dealing with his pain as best he can and doing what is necessary to take care of his responsibilities. Chelsey is now in college and putting her work toward her goals in motion. This book can show you that you may think you are living but in reality you are surviving. Can two people from different worlds really think that love will die or will love live strong when a second chance comes along? Jack Hammer is a must read if you want to find out. Does Chelsey get to be teased and pleased by none other than Jack Hammer? Take a chance and give it a read so you can get Hammered!
