This book sent me on an absolute emotional rollercoaster. One minute I was completely gobsmacked and shocked, and the next I was reaching for the tissues because I was crying so hard 😭
We follow Marley through this dark, twisted story and honestly, she’s just as damaged and complicated as the world around her. After fleeing her hometown following the murder of her best friend and being threatened into silence by the people responsible, Marley is just a lost soul trying to survive. But when her on-again, off-again hookup and psychologist is murdered and she becomes the prime suspect, she’s forced to return home. And that’s when everything starts to unravel.
The moment Marley returns, her past comes crashing back. She’s confronted by her ex-boyfriend, who makes it very clear she’s not welcome, while also reconnecting with the three men who have always protected her: Colton, Tripp, and Rev.
And let me tell you… these men are obsessed 😮💨
Once they’re back in Marley’s life, they have absolutely no intention of letting her run away again. The chemistry between all of them is incredible, and things get very spicy very quickly.
Alongside the romance, there are so many mysteries woven throughout this story. I spent the entire book trying to figure out who could be trusted and who was hiding dangerous secrets. Every time I thought I’d worked something out, another twist came along and left me completely stunned.
And then there were the emotional moments. There were scenes in this book that absolutely wrecked me. Some revelations hit so hard that I genuinely found myself in tears.
This story is packed with suspense, mystery, heartbreak, romance and complete chaos. I won’t spoil anything because the twists are part of the experience, but just know you’re in for one wild ride. And trust me, you’ll fall in love with Colton, Tripp, and Rev, three men who would destroy absolutely anyone who dared hurt their queen 🖤

We are not missing ANY emotions in this book!! There is so much to pack with this story but it has everything that makes a story good! Twists and turns that kept me on my toes and guessing with rapt anticipation. The spice lite up the pages with 3 main men, I mean of course … wow check this one out.

The spice starts early and doesn't let up, delivering plenty of heat throughout the read. But beyond the chemistry, I loved how invested I became in the mystery and the connections between the characters.

While reading Their Hallowed Queen, again and again, I'd think, "Wait . . . what?" and have to reread certain sentences. But this is the second of Carly Claire's books that I've read (after A Gilded Game), so at least I was a little more ready for the dark, twisted themes and shocking twists and turns this time. And yet—were they ever dark, twisted, and shocking! Not that I'm mad at it.
In fact, Carly took me on a thrilling wild ride through an immersive and darkly romantic murder mystery/revenge story, a real roller coaster of emotions where lonely and traumatized FMC Marley feels intense confusion, doubt, fear, grief, hate, love, and passion—sometimes all at once—and I felt it all with her. She and dangerous but devoted MMCs Colton, Rev, and Tripp are all complex, intriguing characters to match the complex, engaging, and original plot, which features copious amounts of ghost-pepper-hot spice (kink included), several flashbacks and revelations that explain the characters' behaviors, desires, feelings, and motives, and a surprise ending I still didn't see coming.
Despite all its gore, intrigue, suspense, and violence, Their Hallowed Queen is far from a simple dark romance; rather, it's a thought-provoking book with a beautiful message about four soulmates who fight for and heal one another's hearts, again and again, until love conquers all—even the past. (Of course, it's also a warning to distrust manipulative, narcissistic people. IYKYK!) Now I'm excited to read Carly's future books, as she's fast becoming one of my go-to authors for dark and steamy romance that makes me not only feel and think but also reconsider my life choices.

An amazing dark and twisted Why-Choose.
This edition contains a duet, but the author changed things up in a really interesting way. The book is divided into three parts.
Part 1 – Butterfly Effect
Congratulations are definitely in order.
This story never stopped surprising me—in the best possible ways.
It starts off at a steady pace, full of mystery, which immediately made me curious about what was really going on.
Then the story takes an unexpected turn, and events begin to unfold that left me with all sorts of conflicting emotions.
First, I found myself thinking, "Okay, but shouldn't someone be asking questions?" and "Okay, this is definitely not heading in a good direction."
Then it quickly became, "Wait... what?" and "Please, don't stop!"
What follows are some of the best steamy scenes I've ever read—one after another—and they completely left me speechless. A girl could definitely get used to that.
I was already invested in the story, but at that point I was absolutely hooked and couldn't put it down.
While the first book alternated between chapters set in the present and chapters from the past, the first part of this book focuses almost entirely on the present-day storyline.

The spice was ghost pepper hot and there was lots of it. So much of it. Just remember this is a DARK Romance so be sure to read the triggers! I can’t even describe the emotional rollercoaster that is Their Hallowed Queen. This Duet hurt so good. I cried and sighed and cried again when my gasts were flabbered. The plot is also so very, very good. Just when I thought I knew what was going on, I was thrown for a loop. And then when I thought I understood what was happening again, I was thrown for another loop! And then I was sad when it was all over. But that happy ending was amazing.
This is a VERY DARK Romance, so please check all the trigger warnings before reading. But this Duet is well worth the read. Just grasp your pearls and read it all like a good girl.

Colton, Rev and Tripp were dark, dangerous and I didn’t trust them as far as I could throw them. Until I did, or at least I wanted to.
I had lots of thoughts about what happened to Audrey and others, but though some of them were proven to be true, I would never have guessed the biggest twist of all.
My heart broke at times; while certain other parts of my anatomy were definitely on the damp side 🙄😉

Wow… what a book. I was incredibly lucky to be an ARC reader for this one and from the very first page it had me completely hooked.
Dark, twisted, addictive and impossible to put down. This story drags you through every emotion imaginable, keeping you constantly questioning what will happen next. Just when you think you’ve figured it out, another twist pulls you deeper into the darkness.
The characters were captivating, the tension was relentless, and the atmosphere was deliciously unsettling. This is the kind of book that gets under your skin and stays there long after you’ve turned the final page.
And the spice? Absolutely phenomenal. Perfectly woven into the story, intense, addictive and guaranteed to leave you wanting more.
If you love your books dark, emotional and full of twists that keep you obsessed until the very end, this one deserves a spot at the top of your TBR.

Just going down the road really enjoying my dark read. Then bam! I wanted to throw my kindle! I screamed at Carly! Because really w the f! I cant even tell you the emotions I went through.
Opens on a scene that has our broken doll heading back home. Shadows are real and shes a few pills and alcohol short of losing it.
Everyone is glad to see her... not.
A sleepy little town, everyone knows and no one forgets. Flashes of childhood memories flutter and older friends that moved on... just.
Old tragedy meets modern evil. That evil is bad. The circumstances gut wrenching. You want it to end just to feel better.
This is all kinds of beautiful tragically so. Dark dripping dark with just enough light to save your sanity.

The FMC Marley is completely broken. Her parents and best friend were killed and she took off from the little town she was living in. She didn’t seem to be doing well after the psychiatrist she was ‘having intimacies’ with (in nice terms, lol), ends up dead with her having his blood on her and being accused of murder. Moving away from her troubles just landed her in more troubles. Marley comes back and no one has forgotten and no one seems to have gotten over it. Or is everyone just really spiteful and mean. I mean she was almost graped the first night and saved by Colton. The three guys, Colton, Tripp and Rev seem to boost her a little but they want to make her pay for the past. She likes the payment, if you know what I mean. This is a dark why-choose romance that kept me reading.

I'm not quite sure where to start, Marleys character was so easy to connect with. The trauma she went through was rough to say the least, but then she gets to reconnect with three boys she cared for and grew up with, Colton, Tripp and Rev, that were able to bring her an immense amount of happiness...and pleasure.
But then Carly decides to give you some emotional damage that had me talking back to the book and wishing I could read faster to figure out what in the world was going on. Then, another plot twist is thrown at you. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to continuing to be reading more of Carlys writing.

Lately is heading home back to the small town she left years ago. It definitely wasn’t because she was excited about going back either. And when the guys see her, they’re not happy either. She just left them behind. And now they’re going to make her pay for leaving. But of course in the most dark and delicious ways possible. I loved these four. They connected perfectly. Were definitely meant to be together. I loved the twists and turns in this. I was so obsessed. If I could’ve read this in one day, I would’ve. This was a great dark romance, and I loved every minute of it.

I absolutely love Carly Claire, and this book is totally in her wheelhouse and a premise I enjoyed. That said - I was a bit confused at times in a way I didn't like, a bit beyond the usual twists and turns of this author's work. I wouldn't rate this as my top for her, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit.
So much emotion, and the story leaves you heartbroken in so many places. But Marley's men - Colton, Rev, and Tripp - are fascinating and excellent MMCs, and in the end I really enjoyed the ride this book took us on.

i really enjoyed this read!! the atmosphere was probably my favorite part tbh- it had the perfect dark, spooky vibe and kept me wanting to know what was going on. the mystery and romance was amazing and i found myself getting invested in both the characters and the secrets being uncovered throughout the story, which is always a positive when a book can keep you that hooked!

If you love a book filled with every emotion from the very start, Carly is here for you! This is book 1 & 2 all wrapped together. It's a pretty dark story with twists that will hit at the perfect times. I would say this is absolutely a why choose story! The spice that Carly gives us is amazing; 4/5 on the spice scale. I had a hard time finding places to pause when I needed to join the real world again because I didn't want to put it down!! I am excited to see what Carly gives us next!

I will most definitely reread this around Halloween because it was the perfect amount of dark, Twisted, and spooky. It makes the perfect read to sit down with some candles in the dark covered up under a blanket. I was not disappointed.

Im so upset I had to DNF!.
The anticipation and high hopes i had for this just fell flat for me. It had a strong start but the drag on what was Beneath like the plot was but flat an not picking up for me.

OMG, what a wild ride. This story follows our FMC thru her trauma filled past and the men who love her. It's suspenseful, twisted, emotional and spicy. Loved it.

Ahhhhhh Yes! This is a very lovely devastating rip your heart out type of twisted Spicy Dark Why-Choose Romance. And about the time my heart felt stable again! Wham out of no where everything is all twisted again. Very emotional, small town, childhood friends and their journey to now.
Marley, Colton, Tripp and Rev's story sucks you right in and doesn't let go.
I feel in love with Marley and her Star-Crossed Lovers through all the twists that kept me turning the pages. The unique storyline with the stars connecting their souls.

Well... god damn. Three obsessive, powerful, "I'd die for you," "I waited for you," and "I'll never let you go again" men? Give me, give me, give me.
I loved how each of the MMCs brought something completely different to the relationship, yet they worked so well together. The chemistry was off the charts, and I couldn't get enough of their dynamic. This book also balances the romance with plenty of suspense, dark themes, and unexpected twists that kept me hooked the entire time. I flew through it and honestly didn't want it to end. If you love possessive men, why choose romance, and a story that keeps you guessing, this one is definitely worth the read.

I enjoyed the premise of this book. I was intrigued by the haunted house and halloween vibes , the masked men and final girl were captivating tropes as well. this book was written with such emotions and leaves you heartbroken. This was very well written and a great story, I had a great time reading this. this was a deliciously spicy and captivating read. it had a great storyline and this story kept me engaged and flipping the pages it was well worth the read.
