When Kara Wilson is found dead from two bullets to the head in the parking garage of the Boston hospital where she worked as an oncology nurse, things immediately begin to heat up. Detective Craig Barnes and his partner begin digging around in search of the cold-blooded murderer, truths and secrets come to light. Lives begin to unravel, revealing jealousy and rage. Pure insanity at its most dangerous depth rears its ugly head.
Cold Crazy focuses on the lives of Makai and Kara, a young couple living in Boston. Makai is the owner of a successful salon and his wife, Kara, is a nurse. After an illustrious wedding, the couple seem like they’re going to have a great future together, but Makai’s philandering guarantees the antithesis. Slick and suave, Makai sleeps around with impunity. However, unbeknownst to him, there’s one woman in town who feels it’s her birthright to be with him and she’s determined to get him by any means necessary. That determination leads to a series of events that changes Makai’s and Kara’s lives forever. I really enjoyed the drama in Cold Crazy and there’s plenty of it—jaw-dropping, eye-popping twists and turns. One of my favorite characters is Sandy’s grandmother. Sandy is Kara’s best friend. The grandmother, who the author describes as a full bag of potatoes with feet, must have been the inspiration for the title of the book, because she’s beyond crazy. If you’re looking for a page-turner and or a nice holiday gift, pick up a copy of this book.
This book opens with a bang & ends with an explosive who done it! I was guessing everyone but I never expected the murderer to be who it was! Mental illness is real!
Oh, my God, what a cast of characters? “Cold Crazy” is a chilling tale populated by people you actually have floating around you every day that will make you do a double-take on every one of them. Normal ceases and insanity takes over in this true-to-life episode.
Makai is the man; tall, dark and handsome, from a wealthy family with a thriving business of his own. The man every woman should run away from, but our lives would be so boring if we never experienced at least one to compare all of the others to. He marries the woman he swears he loves more than life itself and has a sexual encounter with one of his extras during the wedding reception. He has more than one extra, but his activities are not limited to those either. Just let me tell you, this brother can’t be left alone with ANYONE. All I can honestly say is, “What a man?”
Kara is the newlywed wife of the man, Makai. She is sweet, beautiful, loves her new husband and is naïve. Her sister, Raayna, tries to hip her to Makai’s misbehavior before the wedding with no luck. So, the wedding goes off magnificently without a hitch . . . at least not one anyone was aware of. Makai and Kara’s best friends, Justin and Sandy are in attendance as best man and maid of honor and they present a picture of perfection to be envied. Talk about not believing your lying eyes.
Once “Cold Crazy” snags you in its web of “what the hell”, you’re hooked. There’s no way you will be able to put it down without knowing who did what. You name it, it’s here; infidelity, intrigue, murder, madness, and our favorite pastime, trying to find the person I can truly love and trust with my love.
I personally will be looking forward to the next offering in the series. Treat yourself and your book club to a real discussion piece.
Grandma nuts, granddaughter nuts, friends on the DL, sister is a cheaters investigator lol, and hubby in a hold heap of trouble. Part two will reveal the deceitful, lying, crazy ass killers. Well somebody must take blame but who will? And who need meds? Lord help them.
